Kaveh knew the danger that could come with not listening, he wasn't after all stupid, but he simply couldn't get himself to leave Hua Cheng, when he looked like he was suffering. Also because he knew, if the ghost king suddenly snapped and took these feelings out on the nearby people, then there would be lots of death, something that the god didn't desire, never mind if most of the people here were ghosts. It just wasn't in Kaveh's nature to ignore others ⸺ for who was he to judge others, without a clear reason to. Especially, because his heart had been captured by the very man before him, who had been nothing but kind to him and who, had helped him more than what the blond could count on two hands.
There was so much noise outside and yet, the god kept his carmine depths on Hua Cheng, attentive to every little change. It was clear that something was causing this, something which would probably be told later, but right now, Kaveh's sole focus was the ghost king and the words directed at him. It made something twist in his chest to hear that snarled at him, despite knowing that San Lang did it for a good reason. He couldn't help but briefly picture this said in a different scenario.
A sharp gasp left the glossy lips of the god, but despite the sudden painful hold, that made him stiffen briefly, Kaveh did nothing, other than softly utter San Lang's name. A slight groan left due to the air getting forced out of his lungs, however, the noise had no time to properly leave as his lips were suddenly captured, resulting carmine to widen in shock. However, soon, Kaveh found his legs growing slightly weak as his slender digits took a hold of the nearby fabric as he allowed Hua Cheng to do as he pleased. Against his will, a whimper left as he let himself get overpowered by the man, who was clearly not himself. Had the ghost king been himself then, Kaveh knew, none of this would have happened, after all, San Lang was always so gentle, careful and attentive, which was also why, he would never blame him for this, especially because a warning had been directed at him and he had chosen not to listen.

❝ San Lang... Ah.. ❞
the name was spoken breathlessly as the beloved god felt himself get affected by the treatment, despite knowing that he probably shouldn't, with Hua Cheng not being himself and yet, a soft tint clung to the sun-kissed features, betraying the god's thoughts.

" My Lord, if you are to stay here any longer, I- " A fury wrecked through him, and a head-splitting ache cleaved his mind; provoking, taunting and arousing - angering Hua Cheng beyond his own control. An unsettling energy, dark and evil. Outside of Paraside Manor, the howls of ghosts inhabiting Ghost City could be heard. They -too- were overcome by this rabid frenzy; rendering them unable to do anything but cry about their excruciating headaches. Ah, his Kaveh; ever so kind and caring - a warning was made but not heeded, Hua Cheng cursed himself for not being clear enough - that Kaveh needed to stay away. " Away, stay away- "
San Lang... His name echoed; repeated with worry - far, far in an ever growing distance away. A ringing pierce his ears, sharp and aggravating, and coupled together with the ruckus going on throughout Ghost City, driving Hua Cheng to the edge and infuriated. A low growl rumble from deep within his expansive chest; he would rend the damned city and it's ghostly inhabitants to rubble and flattened corpses, had not a hand placed itself above his own, clutching one, within which wooden splinters burrowed. Hua Cheng should feel cold to the touch, like the lifeless corpse he is, but right now, he was burning up. What little control he had left of himself, vanished - once Kaveh touched him.
Hua Cheng, not aware of himself, and unsatisfied with mere hand-holding, without warning, wrapped strong arms around the his fair god; locking him, bone-breaking almost; deep rumble ever lasting, only drowned out when their lips connected into a fierce kiss.

Everything had been peaceful for once. No bandits had come, no ghosts ⸺ besides the one holding his affections ⸺ no wraith, it had been a nice, quiet day. That was, until something in Hua Cheng suddenly changed out of the blue. It was as if a blast of dark energy had been forced out of the nearby male, which made Kaveh drop the bag of seeds, that he had been holding, resulting them to scatter all over the ground. With a yell of San Lang leaving glossy lips, the god rushed towards the man, only to immediately halt upon hearing the demand. It made shock appear in carmine depths as Kaveh watched those sharp nails dig into the dark wood. Worry coated the god's perfect features as he watched, Hua Cheng's shaking form. Every fiber in his body was yelling for him to get close to the male, but at the same time, he was conflicted due to the words that had been directed at him.
❝ San Lang, please, I know you won't hurt me. ❞
As if approaching a scared animal, Kaveh went slowly towards the man, who had taken his heart by storm and who, had been nothing but kind to him. It shook the god's core, to see Hua Cheng like this, which was why, he couldn't simply watch.
❝ Please let me help you. Tell me, what I can do... ❞
Carmine depths could easily pick up that whatever this was, it wasn't pleasant for San Lang. No, far from it, which made Kaveh even more determined to help, just like how the dark-haired ghost had helped him, more than he could count on two hands. The main factor, was that his heart couldn't take watching San Lang be in pain like this, even if a warning had been directed at him.
Finally being close enough, he reached out to touch one of curled hands, wanting the ghost to stop hurting himself, never mind if this was something very minor, compared to all the things that he had probably been through.
❝ San Lang..? ❞
the name was spoken softly, despite the worry in the carmine depths as he tried to gaze into the familiar ones.

Hua Cheng's had his suspicions of what was going on, for his unbeating heart had been growing unrestful for months - tense and excited. An alert of what was about to take place sometime soon. That the gates to the City of Gu are about to open at Tonglu Mountains once again. All ghosts felt this arousal, the months leading up to the inevitable event. Once the gates have opened, the ghosts who travelled there and those living within would start to slaughter each other, killing until only one of them remained. The more opponents one kills inside Tonglu Mountain, the stronger the slayer will become. A new ghost king would emerge.
Wether good or bad, a distraction had come along, for him to ignore the ever growing wickedness. That distraction was Kaveh - soothing the turmoil simply with his presence and kindhearted smile. Hua Cheng had believed this to be enough, that he had not needed to take any precautions, for Kaveh was all he needed.
A grave mistake.
It was Hua Cheng's mistake, to let lower his guard so frivolously, with his beloved god standing so closely. Before he knew it, the gates opened on the distant mountain - and something in him snapped, like a stepped-on twig.
In one moment they had been -together- cultivating seeds and soil, watering the myriad of flowers inside the building raised just for Kaveh to enjoy. The next, Hua Cheng clutched at the edge of a nearby table, claw-like nails digging into the wooden surface until splinters settled inside -now- burning hot flesh, his other hand covered his right eye where overwhelming pain throbbed. E-Ming shot open it's crimson eye and it whirled and rolled in an unyielding frenzy. Veins popped over the hand which dug into the table, and a strained growl seeps out from between clenched teeth; sharp and furious.
Hua Cheng felt it, the way Kaveh had begun rushign towards him, worried. He heard his name being called out. San Lang! He heard it, but it sounded so distant and diffused - almost like a foggy dream. " Don't touch me! " He managed through his shaking body, " Kaveh... Please, stay away from me, I'm not- "
