A laugh escaped Katerina's red lips before she could stop herself, hand coming to cover her mouth. She gave him a sheepish look, before her hand reached over to grab the wine glass from him, red painted nails wrapping around it with ease.

"That's really something, I'm sorry," Katerina offered him softly, now that she had calmed down her slight giggle response. She rolled her eyes, lifting her glass to her lips and having a rather hefty swallow of the wine - it was needed, before she lowered it, tongue darting out to lick her lips.

"Oh you know, the same old. Dad gets sad thinking about mom, one brother fights the other, third brother doesn't even turn up for Christmas because his whisked his latest girl away to some tropical beach - and then I was left to try and cater for the mess, just a typical McCoy get together, you know." she breathed out, giving Nathan a pointed look.

"I'm also like twenty percent sure Dad tried to buy me a barbie doll - he can't quite shake the your my little princess thing, despite me not having touched a barbie for over twenty years."

nathan's more than grateful to see them, busying himself as he casually mentions his sour interaction with his 'father' earlier on the day, by pouring them a drink. "so my deadbeat dad thought he could salvage our relationship and make up for all his misdemeanors with a cadbury's miktray..." his head shakes with disbelief, before he hands over the glass. "...couldn't make it up, eh? how's your holiday's been, anyway?"
