Pagglait Film Review
Tumblr media
Madness is sometimes a necessary part of life
Tumblr media
Image of Sanya Malhotra Lead in the Reviewed Film Plot: In the film, Sandhya, a young widow, is the subject of this movie. Five months after their marriage, their spouse passes away. She gains knowledge about how to manage her family. One day, out of nowhere, she noticed a picture in her husband's armchair. Who owns that picture? She begins to despise her consort after witnessing it. In her name, her spouse also obtained insurance worth fifty lakhs. For it, she gets a check. Will she leave the house to deliver a fifty-lakh check? Will she become less hateful of an espoused person? Or is she going to get married again? Will she and her parents go back home? You will need to watch a movie in order to respond to all of these questions. Theme: The Black Comedy/Drama Theme serves as the basis for this movie. In addition to this, it can be regarded as a quality parallel cinema production. However, in addition to providing entertainment, a film's goal is to spread a social message. Will women be able to freely consider their lives in our society? Will they be forced to conform to the will of a male-dominated society? Do women have to submit to men all the time? Acting and Characters: Sanya Malhotra's portrayal of Sandhya is excellent. Her ability to blend all the emotions—crying, laughing, pain, loneliness, anger, jealousy, and so on—is superb. Despite having a small part in Aakansha's role, Sayani Gupta's acting is impressive. She first lost her partner, and by not getting married, she effectively conveyed her anguish through her facial expressions. Sandhya's closest friend, Shruti Sharma, has additionally a fantastic job portraying Nazia. Sheeba Chaddha and Ashutosh Rana, who played supporting parts, both displayed facial expressions of their sorrow at losing their son. They kept that hurt in their hearts and never even told anyone how they were going to pay back the loan. Additionally, Raghuveer Yadav had strong acting abilities. Writer/Director: Umesh Bisht was the director of this movie. His first Hindi film is this one. He is in total command of the movie. His portrayal of a black comedy drama story, including how and how the characters tell it, is excellent. Furthermore, he was able to get exceptional performance out of the characters. Story and Screenplay:written by the director, who has total control over it. Powerfully, and it maintains audience interest. Nobody can predict what will happen next because of how strongly the characters are written. Dialogues: The film's dialogue is funny and has a great sense of humour. Cinematography: Rafey Mahmood's cinematography is exceptional, and Lucknow's has been shot beautifully.Everything has been expertly filmed, including the Ganga river scenes and the aerial shots. Editing: “There are no obstacles, and it's very clean.” The movie moves along at a decent clip, and the scene changes are superb. Background Score: It wasn't too bad. Production Design: An old house expertly designed. The Sound design is also magnificent. Music: Arijit Singh is directing music for the first time with this movie. Aside from this, the songs, such as “Thode Kam Ajnabi” and “Fire Fakira,” are well-made. Lyrics: Nilesh Mishra's songs have good lyrics. Climax: The filming is excellent. Viewpoint: Suggested for a Single View! (Those who enjoy watching unusual films.) Social Message: Girls are entitled to live their lives as they see fit and make the changes they desire. It is also impossible for the male-dominated society to force its will on her.  Appreciation: Sanya Malhotra's acting in this movie, has received a lot of praise from the gifted actress Kangana Ranaut. Facts: The scene where the grandmother rings the bell has turned into a perfect comedy moment. From a humble beginning in a small village in Punjab to becoming a household name, Jassie’s journey is an inspiring tale of talent, resilience, and adaptability. With his melodious voice, infectious charm, and acting prowess, he has emerged as a multifaceted artist who continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
Introduction to Jassie Gill’s Beginnings
Born Jasdeep Singh Gill on November 26, 1988, in Jandali village near Khanna, Ludhiana, Jassie grew up surrounded by the rich cultural tapestry of Punjab. Music and art were deeply embedded in his upbringing, and he found his passion early on. Despite his love for music, the road to success was far from easy. Jassie worked hard to balance his education and his burgeoning interest in music. He attended Gobindgarh Public College, where he not only pursued music but also honed his performance skills through various youth festivals.

Musical Breakthrough and Stardom
Jassie’s big break came in 2011 with the release of his debut album Batchmate. Featuring the hit song “Churiyan,” the album became an instant success, earning him recognition and a loyal fan base. A Global Star with Punjabi Roots
Despite his success on a global scale, Jassie remains deeply rooted in his Punjabi heritage. His music often reflects the essence of Punjabi culture, celebrating its traditions, language, and spirit. This authenticity has endeared him to fans, particularly among the Punjabi diaspora, who see him as a representative of their cultural identity.

Bollywood Movies Part CCXIV: Not Bollywood, that's for sure
Tumblr media
J. Jayalithaa (Kangana Ranaut) becomes fellow actor M. J. Ramachandran's (Arvid Swamy) political protege, ultimately replacing him as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister after his death.
Thalaivii is a biopic about J. Jayalithaa that fictionalizes some details. It is similar to the second half of Iruvar, as that is also based on M. G. Ramachandran and Jayalithaa's relationship. I watched it in Tamil, even though it was also simultaneously filmed in Hindi. It was an interesting version of that period of Tamil Nadu politics, but it definitely leans into the melodrama. Favorite songs are Unthan Kangalil Ennadiyo, Tugalai Tugalai, and Kannum Kannum Pesa Pesa. None of the songs have subtitles.
Tumblr media
Pianist Ray (Prithviraj Sukumaran) witnesses the murder of former actor Uday Kumar (Shankar) but is unable to testify against those involved, Uday’s wife Simi (Mamta Mohandas) and her lover Inspector Dinesh (Unni Mukundan), without revealing that he isn’t actually blind.
Bhramam is the Malayalam remake of Andhadhun. As a remake, it's decent. The actors are all fantastic in their roles and the script is well localized. However, it is lackluster in the music, which was a huge part of the original. Favorite songs are Munthiripoovo and Lokam - Who Wants it? Neither song has subtitles.
Tumblr media
Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar) chases down a terrorist plot while having angst about trying to reconcile with his estranged wife Ria (Katrina Kaif).
Sooryavanshi is big on the action and explosions, less so on the plot. This is part of the Rohit Shetty Cop Universe (as it's called on wikipedia) and both Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh appear as Singham and Simmba in the long end fight sequence. Honestly that was the best part of the movie as they brought some well deserved comic relief to the film which was sorely lacking in the rest of it. Favorite songs are Mere Yaraa and Hum Hindustani. Neither song has subtitles.

Shaitaan Film Review
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Image of Shaitaan Star Cast lead in the reviewed film Plot: This film follows a family as they travel to their farm residence for the holidays. On the way, while eating at a restaurant, they experience an incident that they only learn about after arriving at their farm house, and they can't believe it could happen. A stranger enters the house without alerting anyone and goes inside. Will the stranger return? Why has he come to their residence, and what is he doing? How did he find out about the farmhouse? To get the answers to all of questions, watch like a hawk. Tone and Theme: This picture has a Supernatural Horror tone, and its theme is Suspense and Tension. The goal of making this film is to convey a message while providing amusement. Acting and Characters: Ajay Devgn's performance as Kabir is excellent; he portrays pain, sadness, and suffering for his beloved, and his facial appearances show that he is helpless but unable to do anything. His acting reflects the sorrow he is experiencing. Jyotika's performance as Jyoti is also splendid; she is powerless to intervene after seeing her husband and daughter in such distress; she appears helpless and alone. R Madhavan has done a superb acting in the role of Vanraj; the terror that shown in his face and eyes, seems so near to the real-life character, no one else can perform this job better than R Madhavan. This is Janki Bodiwala's first Hindi film in the role of Janvi; she works in the Gujarati film industry and has appeared in a few Gujarati films; her acting in this film can be described as brilliant; she took the role of a daughter very seriously; it is not easy to act in such a scary and terrifying manner. You'll be scared after viewing some of her parts because of how fully she's acted. Anngad Raj's performance as Dhruv is also good. This film was Directed by Vikas Bahl. Previously, he directed films such as Chillar Party, Queen (for which Kangana Ranaut received the National Award for Best Actress), and Super 30 (Hrithik Roshan's acting in this picture praised, and he received numerous award nominations); all of these films are among his most successful, and this film will be as well. He did an excellent job directing this film; he attempted to tell the story in a very terrifying and scary manner; there is no complexity in the story anywhere; he maintained the suspense throughout the film until the end; the audience will glued to their seats from beginning to end. No body knows what would happen next in the film. He was able to elicit exceptional acting from all the Krishnadev Yagnik wrote the story for the film, which is a remake of his original Gujarati film Vash. Aamil Keeyan Khan's Screenplay has magnificent dialogue. There are no mistakes in the script's sequence of events, scene endings, or character development. The dialogue has also been tailored to match the mood of the film's story. Costume Design: Radhika Mehra's characters are all fine and there is little room for experimentation. Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti's Cinematography is excellent; there was little room for him because the film was shot in a single house, but he captured the camera movements and aerial vistas quite beautifully. Subhash Sahu's Sound Design is fantastic; it fits the film's tone and environment well. Production Design: Garima Mathur's sets for the house are good; She did his best to create the appropriate ambiance. Music & Background Score: Amit Trivedi's music for all the songs is excellent and the background score is just outstanding; the audience feels linked to the film. Kumaar's Lyrics are good, especially the Shaitan song. Sandeep Francis' Editing style is fast-paced and crisp. One or two parts, such as the dance scene, slow down the film's pace and may have been edited out. The Actions of Vikram More and R.P Yadav differ. Visual Effects: Excellent; the film's greatest strength is its graphics. Climax: Very good and vibrant, with plenty of suspense. Opinion: Must See! There is suspense in the first scene of the film; who is at that moment? Whose secret disclosed at the end? While watching the movie, the suspense of two sequences revealed at the end. Flaws: There is no proof as to when Jyoti phoned the phone to the police, Vanraj continually checks the time on his watch; it is unclear why he does so. Message: We should never take food from a stranger Nobody can hypnotize us or make us do anything. Filmfare Award Nominations: This film can garner nominations in numerous categories that will be contested in 2024. Especially Best Villain, Best Supporting Actress, Best Visual Effects, Best Background Score, and Best Editing. While obtaining the CBFC certificate for the film, It was requested that a violent scene be edited a voiceover be added stating that we do not encourage black magic. An abusive word be removed along with shouting and a message be added stating that drinking alcohol is harmful to one's health.
