#Kami no Kohitsuji Agnus Dei

Hello! I’ve been wondering something for some time now. In Kami no Kohitsuji Agnus Dei, if I’m not mistaken, Gilbert is said to have a descendant (?) along with Serge. However, if Gilbert died unmarried, how did he have a descendant? Or did he have a child outside of marriage? I tried finding some information but still couldn’t really get anything. Well, Gilbert has descendants, in the last volumes of the manga when Serge and Gil go to Paris, they meet a young girl called Camille.

This girl, although she is very young and knows that Serge is in a relationship with Gilbert, does not hide her passion for the pianist.

At one point, the two boys fight and Serge leaves, leaving Gilbert alone in their small apartment. At that time, Camille provokes Gilbert and offers to sleep with him, and he accepts.

After that it is shown that the two actually had intercourse, Camille is shown happily in bed while Gilbert is serious as ever, and it was from this act that Camille became pregnant.

Kami no Kohitsuji -Agnus Dei- Vol 3 Spoilers

Henri et Fran continuent leur exploration de la vie du défunt Serge, mais ils n'en découvrent guère plus et seul cet étrange garçon Matthieu semble avoir des pistes.

Suite à un accident, Henri se méfie de plus en plus de Matthieu, mais il peine à résister à l'envie de le voir, ils se blessent l'un et l'autre mutuellement. Au cours d'une soirée, Henri manque d'être à nouveau violé par Gustave, mais Matthieu lui vient en aide et le sauve.

Suite à cet incident, les deux garçons se rapprochent et ils font l'amour pour la première fois ensemble dans un hôtel.

Nous en découvrons plus sur le passé de Matthieu, il a été placé dans un orphelinat suite à la mort de ses parents. Il fera la connaissance de Monsieur Olivier qui l'a adopté... mais celui-ci a fini par lui faire du mal et Matthieu s'est enfui et à errer dans les rues et il a commencé à se prostituer à des hommes riches.

Fran et Victor veulent tout faire pour éloigner Henri de Matthieu, mais le jeune vicomte en décide autrement et il décide de s'enfuir avec Matthieu à la gare de Lyon.

Matthieu emmène le jeune Henri à Marseille au château de Chérubin de la Mer, le lieu qui a vu naitre et grandir Gilbert Cocteau, seulement les évènements vont mal tourner suite à l'arrivée imprévue de Jean-Pierre Lebeau, le patron de Matthieu et propriétaire du château.

Il va faire du mal aux deux garçons, Matthieu fera tout son possible pour sauver la vie de Henri au péril de sa propre vie... Jean-Pierre perdra lui aussi la vie en mettant fin à ses jours.

Nous apprenons suite aux derniers événements par Victor que Matthieu était un descendant de Gilbert, mais que celui-ci ne le savait pas ! Jean-Pierre qui était obsédé par l'histoire de Gilbert Cocteau, il a profité de la détresse de Matthieu pour se l'approprier.

Henri continuera à vivre, tenant la promesse qu'il avait faite à Matthieu et rendra visite à Monsieur Olivier qui lui donnera un album photo souvenir de Matthieu.

Some Kami no Kohitsuji in June Magazine

The only June issue I own (May 1991) happens to be an issue in which part of KazeKi's sequel novel, Kami no Kohitsuji (神の子羊), was serialized. To be more precise, it has chapters 13-15 from volume I.

Cover by Yoshida Akimi. She was illustrating another novel that was being serialized at the time, Kurimoto Kaoru's Owari no Nai Love Song (終わりのないラブソング). Is there a database with all the June covers scanned? They look so nice.

I have the Fukkan reprints of the novels. I just wanted to post side-by-side photos of the illustrations. Do you even need a reason to post Takemiya art?

Now I only need courage to actually read these novels.

This time I don't have much information, because I only know a few parts about the story of Agnus Dei, I couldn't read the whole novel. But according to people who read it, this is what happened:

Serge married Irene and had a son named Leon, he was unhappy in his marriage because he only married his wife because she looked like Gilbert, and now his son was also becoming like Gilbert. So he decides to leave and work at Lacombrade, where he gets involved into a relationship with a teenage student, just the way some teachers were with Gilbert when Serge was a teenager.

The reasons that led him to do it are unknown, only those who read the whole story can confirm, but I have a theory:

Serge never got over Gilbert's death and always tried to keep someone like him around, he did when he married Irene, and probably he found some boy like Gilbert in Lacombrade and decided to get involved with him to make himself feel better.

I know, it's really disgusting, Serge knew how bad attitudes like that were for Gilbert, and he ended up turning into the people he hated so much.

I'm also always searching for an English translation or copy, but I didn't find it either. There's an English translation for Kofuko no Hato, but we don't have for Agnus Dei.
