whos callistus??
CALLISTUS LUMOIRA!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's one of my newest ocs! He uses he/she pronouns and she's a guard/scout/animal handler. She super hates talking to people and talking in general and he doesn't do much in the realm of facial expressions. He's a high elf ranger and works for nobility in her city! She's not . Mean. But she comes across like it. A lot. Very monotone. He has a twin named Kalyani (they/them)! They call each other Cal/Kal because they think it's funny. Cal won't respond to anyone else calling him Cal tho. That's only for Kalyani. Kalyani is a bard/ranger!
Cal's like 6'2" and wears a lot of green and brown. She spends a lot of time hanging out with animals or hiding in trees when she's not working! He's honestly living his dream job but literally no one except his boss, his sibling, and his moms believe that. She just kinda looks mad all the time bc her resting face is a bit of a frown.
Also he's autistic ! Cal and Kal are autism adhd solidarity. Kalyani talks a Lot, Callistus doesn't, and every time they're on a job together, people think Kalyani is bugging Cal. They're not. Callistus is super invested in all of the stories ever. She just also really loves her job and doesn't make many expressions.
<3 I haven't gotten to play Cal yet, but he's one of those characters I have fully developed and ready to go at the drop of a hat. One of my dnd groups do oneshots every now and then with different dms each time because we're all super invested in storytelling, so we have our main campaign (the one with Oskar), and then the oneshots! We've only done one so far, but we have another one on monday! That one's gonna have Deborah in it!
To quote my pms, "Cal is like. Nearly the perfect guard/scout/knight/soldier/whatever . He follows directions Perfectly (autistic), he doesn't ask too many questions (autistic), he knows a lot about his job (autistic), he doesn't get emotionally attached easily (autistic), and he's content to sit in silence in a tree for hours on watch (autistic)"

How Can the Juvenile Board Issue Such an Order?" Fadnavis on Pune Porsche Crash
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has vowed stringent action against the teenager responsible for a fatal car crash in Pune. The 17-year-old, driving a high-end Porsche, collided with a motorbike, resulting in the immediate deaths of two IT professionals. Fadnavis criticized the “lenient” punishment imposed by the Juvenile Justice Board, which required the teen to write a 300-word essay on accidents, work with the traffic police for 15 days, and undergo counselling for alcohol consumption. “How can the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Board give such an order?” he questioned.
Tumblr media
The incident occurred early Sunday in the Kalyani Nagar area when the allegedly intoxicated teenager, driving his father’s Porsche, struck and killed Ashwini and Aneesh. Witnesses reported that Ashwini was thrown 20 feet into the air, while Aneesh was propelled into a parked car.
Fadnavis stated, “We have appealed to the district court against the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Board’s order. There is significant public outrage. I have reviewed the latest investigation updates.”
The teen, son of a well-known Pune realtor, was reportedly seen drinking with friends at a bar hours before the crash. Police have arrested the bar owners for serving alcohol to minors, as the legal drinking age in Maharashtra is 25. According to police, the boy visited two restaurants with a group of 10–12 friends on Saturday night, where they were served alcohol.
Fadnavis highlighted that the teen, being 17 years and 8 months old, should be considered an adult for heinous crimes, referencing the Nirbhaya case provisions.
The teen was apprehended but released on bail within 15 hours, igniting public outrage. His father has since been arrested under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act for willful neglect and supplying intoxicating liquor to a minor.
Fadnavis outlined government measures to prevent similar incidents, stating, “We have alerted the administration to take strict action against pubs violating the law and to increase police checks for drink driving at key locations.”
The crash has also stirred political controversy, with Uddhav Thackeray camp leader Sanjay Raut criticizing the Pune Police for the perceived delay in acting against the teen.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar asserted that he had requested permission from the board to try the minor as an adult and place him in an observation home due to the heinous nature of the crime, but this request was denied. The police have since approached the District Court.
Kumar challenged critics to substantiate claims that the police acted under pressure or leniency towards the accused, noting the teen’s father is a prominent real estate developer in Pune.
Additionally, the owner of Cosie Bar has been arrested for allegedly serving alcohol to the minor and his friends. Kumar assured that the police are building a “watertight case” to prosecute the teen, emphasizing, “Despite the blood report outcome, we aim to establish this as a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.”

Water Movie Review
This was one of the greatest movies I’ve ever watched: a total 10 out of 10 from me. This movie is on my list of favourites: some of which include inception, interstellar, and don’t look up. I laughed, I cried, I had around 2 mental breakdowns and debated over the possibility of killing every man to roam the face of the earth. The fact that this movie only ever got a nomination and not an award, like an oscar, is actually criminal and shows the racist and misogynistic standards within Hollywood. Woody Allen, Harvey Weinstein and even Jared Leto are sexual predators but all have Oscars and awards. Will Smith slaps someone over a joke regarding his wife’s illness and suddenly his oscar might be revoked and he has a 10-year ban? (No one argue with me regarding whether or not it is alright to assault people: the fact of the matter is, Will Smith was punished twenty times over in comparison to his white counterparts) The fact remains that there is barely any representation whatsoever, and this foreign film highlighted issues that are not often spoken about and represented in media, going to show how much it should have been given an award. This movie is like Life of Pi meets Hidden Figures meets the help. A movie set in India based on Indian struggles (Life of Pi deals with religion) revolves around misogyny and a targeted bias towards women. Hidden Figures speaks of the marginalized group of scientific minds within Nasa while the Help discusses a minority that has been abused. Water is a combination of all of these amazing movies and is an emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish.
The story begins with our introduction to an 8-year-old child bride, Chuyia, who becomes a widow. Within Indian and Hindu beliefs, widows have three options: burning to death with their departed husbands (the most virtuous of options), marrying their late husband’s brother (with the permission of the family) or leading a life within a compound with a shaved head, a white sari and a lifetime of repentance. This story revolves around the women in said compound, as introduced to the audience by Chuyia joining their ranks.
We are immediately introduced to Madhu Didi, the widow who runs the compound. She begins to highlight the duties of a widow, and in turn, accentuates the system that these women so thoroughly live by. She explicitly states:  “In grief, we are all sisters here and this house is our refuge. Our Holy Books say a wife is part of her husband while he is alive. Right? And when husbands die, God help us, wives also half die. So how can a half-dead woman feel pain?” To which Chuyia replies that widows are half-alive as well: foreshadowing the turmoil and change she brings with her.
Furthermore, there are other widows that the audience gets to know more intimately as the movie progresses. Auntie: an elderly widow who often reminisces about her own wedding as a child because she got to eat sweets. Shakuntala Didi: a devout woman who spends her time praying and performing Hindu rituals in order to find the root of her unhappiness. Finally, Kalyani: a beautiful young woman with uncut hair and the face of an angel. She lives upstairs, isolated from the other widows and seen as something contaminated. Minor spoilers incoming: Madhu Didi prostitutes Kalyani in order to make money for the compound. The same men that will not deign to look at these widows are fine with sleeping with one, and the widows who isolate Kalyani because of what she does are fine with eating the food her money brings in. This movie showcases the experiences of these widows as they live as half-dead women.
This movie was extraordinary in all aspects. Chuyia physically looks like a child, she’s eight and she looks her age. Throughout her performance, we, the audience, can clearly see her immaturity and naivety. When provoked she screams and throws insults, even physically biting or kicking the offending widow. Her performance truly sold the message of the movie and allowed the audience to empathize with her character that much further. Look at modern coming-of-age stories meant for teen audiences — all the characters are played by 20 to 30-year-old actors that are completely out of touch with the teenage demographic. These movies come off as insincere or even silly because the actors don't fit the physical description of what their character should be. If a movie is about high school students, the actors should be in high school instead of fully developed adults with perfect skin and bodies. Having a child play a child was brilliant because we could often see Chuyia’s youth shine through in her line deliveries. When Chuyia says things like “I can only count to 10” when told to pray and ask where the house for men widows is, her innocence and naivety are highlighted by the actress's line delivery. Her character was my absolute favourite throughout different moments in the movie: giving her food to a god despite knowing she won't get anything until the next day, getting fried food despite it being restricted for widows — not for herself, but for Auntie who reminisced to Chuyia of the sweets at her wedding. She’s an innocent and beautiful child, having been treated far too harshly for the small amount of time she’s been alive. When she simply says “I have come to play” after being taken to Narayan’s father, I was sobbing — this little girl simply didn't know any better and the actress did justice to her character completely. Chuyia was by far my favourite character and provided the greatest acting performance at such a young age.
This movie is phenomenal at showing a different side of Desi countries. For someone who doesn't regularly watch Bollywood, the only time I’ve seen India or Pakistan or Bangladesh in media or film is through a western lens. From the music to the setting to the filming, this movie was incredibly well made. The very first thing I noticed in the movie was that there was no yellow filter. Every single depiction of Desi or Middle-Eastern countries has the same yellowish filter and generic music. In Water, there was no filter and the music soundtracks used were absolutely beautiful and completely unique — it felt more like an homage to the culture than a mocking depiction of what westerns believe Indian culture to be. Furthermore, the cinematography was absolutely gorgeous. There is a continuous stereotype that India and people from there are generally dirty, that their food is smelly, and a multitude of other biases with absolutely no merit. This movie shows beautiful Indian architecture — when they go to bathe in the river, the water looks fresh and inviting, and when it rains it feels fresh and cool. The way this movie is filmed and the way it utilizes its setting as well as musical elements provided excellent delivery. Music in general is great at creating atmosphere, bringing attention to certain elements and creating emotion. It would've been easy to use generic soundtracks and disregard special effects or where the movie was shot, but the fact that India was portrayed like any other place gave Water that much more depth. It didn't feel like a mocking depiction of what a third-world country is and how much inferior their development was — this movie made the characters seem human, seem like they could be our next-door neighbours. Without the excellent filming, music choices and setting, I truly doubt that the movie would've been as devastating and emotional as it was.
Finally, the message of the movie was absolutely brilliant. The themes of this movie revolve around freedom, self-realization and oppression in regards to how women (widows in particular) are treated. The subtext here is that the rules these women live by are outdated and come from a place of greed rather than religious belief. Narayan himself states in the movie, “One less mouth to feed. Four saris saved, one bed, and a corner is saved in the family home. There is no other reason why you are here. Disguised as religion, it’s just about money”. The way these widows are treated is as if they're less than vermin, they're polluted and are better off dead.  At the river, a bridal party is performing a ritual when a widow approaches to retrieve water. “Watch it”, she’s warned. “Don’t let your shadow touch the bride.” Because even her shadow is repulsive. This movie shows the hypocritical behaviour of everyone: the brahim finds the widows dirty but is fine sleeping with one. Madhu Didi firmly believes widows should live in recluse but is fine with prostituting Kalyani for money. The other widows find Kalyani dirty and shameful and have her separated and isolated from them but are fine with eating the food her money brings in. Through these actions, we as an audience realize that nothing makes sense, why are women being treated like this? Why are certain behaviours alright while others are not? Is defying religion alright if it's for personal reasons, despite those very reasons not applying to everyone else? This movie has a beautiful message and it is displayed perfectly and in a way that makes the audience question how such behaviour has gone on for so long.
As I’ve made clear, I absolutely adored this movie with everything in me. I find that this movie is a must-watch for teens and adults. Some of the themes such as rape, prostitution, and women being thrown aside will be too difficult and even too graphic for children to comprehend. However, with the mass media nowadays, teenagers are exposed to anything and everything with their unlimited access to the internet. Therefore, I find that teenagers will have the emotional maturity to comprehend the topics and themes presented to them, and of course, adults will too. This movie has such a beautiful message and thoroughly depicts the misogyny that women face. White feminism is a growing epidemic and while all issues deserve acknowledgement, I don't think growing armpit hair is true empowerment. Western countries forget that women worldwide suffer from issues that are far beyond dealing with the beauty standard and having to adhere to certain societal rules. Of course, those are outdated and irrelevant, but white feminism often forgets to advocate for those who need it most and I find this movie reminds us of the horrors these women have to face. Imagine being a widow before you even get to first grade, being forced to live the rest of your life as a leech to the rest of society simply because your husband died before you. I find it so very important to educate people on the effects of gender bias in countries other than America, and this movie does so perfectly without giving the sense of a lengthy documentary talking about problems through statistics. Furthermore, I find that this movie rids the common stereotypes of Desi countries. As previously stated,  there was no filter and the music soundtracks used were absolutely beautiful and completely unique — it felt more like an homage to the culture than a mocking depiction of what westerns believe Indian culture to be. This movie showcases an incredibly important message and does it with amazing cinematography all the while. I sincerely recommend it to teenagers, young adults, and even adults themselves.
All in all, I believe that on a scale from 1 to 10, this movie was a solid 11. From a movie critic that loves to nitpick and find problems with anything, I genuinely couldn't find anything that I would've changed. In my reviews, one is the bare minimum: I didn’t enjoy this movie but I respect that there was work put into it, negative digits mean I regret ever watching the movie itself. Moving up, a rating of around five is neutral: the movie was alright but things could've been better showing my indifference, and higher numbers mean I displayed some kind of emotion during the movie (laughing, crying, screaming) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t often give a 10, much less an 11, but this movie was exceptional. Absolutely nothing could've changed, I laughed at Chuyia’s actions, cried when certain things occurred (censored for spoiler reduction) and felt hatred toward every single man other than Narayan for how they treated these poor women. If I could have one wish it would be to erase my memory so I could rewatch this movie again for the first time. I sincerely hope that more people come to watch and understand what a true masterpiece this movie was.

One of the most esteemed groups of Indian government medical schools is the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). In instance, AIIMS Delhi is renowned for being the most difficult branch to gain admission to. AIIMS Delhi has maintained its status as the top medical institution in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) on a regular basis.
AIIMS ceased holding entrance exams with the 2020 NEET UG exam and joined NEET UG as a participating institute. This implies that in order to be considered for admission to AIIMS, prospective students will need to take the NEET UG exam.
Because AIIMS adheres to the regulations set forth by the Indian government, the cut off point for admission differs depending on the category of students. General candidates must have a percentile of at least 50. For general PwD applicants, a minimum percentile of 45 is needed; for SC/ST/OBC candidates, a minimum percentile of 40 is needed. You must receive the required number of marks in order to be accepted into this esteemed institution. Students can visit the AIIMS website to view the AIIMS cut-off 2023.
