Having reread one of my favourite Domme fics in a different fandom, I'm really thinking about writing a fic about Kala realising that Wolfgang enjoys being on his knees and being good for her though he hasn't said anything about it of course. She gets awesome advice from Nomi and Riley, and discusses with Rajan who is absolutely into following her lead, helping her and watching Wolfgang sub for her. And Kala also enjoying watching Wolfgang crowd Rajan against the wall in the shower. There's a lot of ways they can give to each other.

I'm also still considering some kind of Regency/Bridgerton style OT3 fic, though I'm probably overthinking where all the characters would fit there. It is still tempting me though, while I'm working on a Rajan POV fic that is making me cry a bit as I write. He gives so much and doesn't realise he should let other people give to him. I worry I'm making him too saintly.

And it’s so deliberate, is the thing. Rajan is such a classic character, the Other Guy from every Hallmark movie, the handsome, rich asshole who should be perfect for the heroine except that she doesn’t love him. They set it up perfectly for you to hate Rajan.

Except that… Every time he’s about to so the thing that will cement him in our minds as That Guy we love to hate, the script subverts it. He learns, and he grows, and we do it with him, until we dins ourself loving him right along with Kala. It’s so brilliantly done.

Every time I watch this show, I am struck by how easy it would’ve been for them to make Rajan the absolute worst. They could’ve had the easiest possible route to make him just a terrible person and a bad prospect and make the good qualities he projects into this facade and shell.

And they didn’t!

Instead they were like “he is from privilege, and he sometimes is drawn to play by the same fucked up rules that allowed his family privilege, but he loves and adores this woman, not to spite his father but because of her.” And when he finds out about the other sensates and he finds out about Wolfgang he decides he loves his wife more than anything hinky in this situation, and he also kinda, when given the opportunity, realises he also loves her criminal empire German boyfriend, and I love him
