i have to say though i had No clue the plot was that conan's actually 17 i did not see that coming

Shinichi is jusst some very smart 17 year old I want to see him more as a 17 year old those episodes where he gets to be Shinichi for a bit instead of just conan are also so so fun and Oh please tell me what you think about the other Gosho boys I think Heiji already got introduced by ep30? I like Heiji he's a neat guy and Hakuba hasn't been presented yet and I don't really think he has a solid standing in detcon because he's briefly there in like one kaito episode he's more of a Kaito Kid character than a detective conan one. And Ran! I like Ran she doesn't deserve the stuff she has to put up with she doesn't get payd enough for taking care of her father and a random kid that just appeared one day and school and her childhood best friend that suspiciously disappeared the same day the strange kid that knows too many things for a seven year old grade schooler came into their lives and with him appeared a sudden wave of success for her father paired with a strange form of narcolepsy. She deserves a raise.

If you want someone to bring you to help he isn't ideal, he can't really hold you and his parasol at the same time. But you can wait with him until Luca and Kaito notice your absence and start looking for you or Rui starts asking where he found a cat willing to cuddle with him.

Almost wants to keep you a cat, it might be easier that way to care for you after anomalies take over but he reckons you might not appreciate your new body so, with a heavy sigh, he hands you to Lyca who is ordered by Rui to get you to mortenkraken or Nicolas, whoever is closer.

A cat ambushes him and almost makes him kick them on his way to Obscuary, quickly he figures it isn't any of the staff cats, they meow at him loudly to get his attention, or another cat anomaly, as they would hide from ghouls. It isn't until you tug at his pants to a plot of dirt and paw your name that he recognizes you.

Rolling his jacket around your body and holding you far from his body, he walks to the infirmary or directly to mortenkraken, whichever he guesses is less crowded. After getting told that it would disappear with time he is relieved.

He lets you hang out around his bar, even if he is scared of touching you accidentally, he thinks it's a good way to promote his business. Haru drops by as soon as night falls and is all over you even before getting drunk and being cuddlier, Romeo is just happy that he isn't the target for his hugs.

He is disappointed that when Nicolas came to his bar and rather than drinking it was just to perform a check up because he wasn't available when he took you. He managed to make him drink a watered down shochu before leaving. (is that how it's translated?)

He really wants to prepare you a cocktail but nobody really tested if cats could eat the anomalous infusions so the most he can do is mix catnip tea and cat milk so enjoy your cat-safe milk tea?

No matter at what hour you might get zoomies he is up to play -he can't really sleep but playing with a cute cat is good enough!- he grabs a stick with a string and feathers and waves it around for you to hunt.

He was kinda sad when you returned to normal, he really liked monopolizing you for a few days after having to share time with the other houses, but he will never say it out loud.

Lyca

Surprised at seeing a cat over at Obscuary, given how none of the staff cats go over but after a good sniff he figures it's you, your smell even if one of a cat’s there is a lingering flowery scent under all that fur.

Bring you by the scruff to Rui because he is the one he seeks out when in doubt. His ears almost pop off his head when he yells at him to let you go and he will hurt you.

This is actually a learning experience for him, most of the cats around campus seen skittish around him or outright evade him. He sits down on his blanket in his room with you next to him and a picture book open on the floor. He grabs your paw or tail and repeats the word until he somewhat remembers it.

He heard cats thrive when they eat meat so he tries harder to hunt you a dove, something small to eat for the small cat. Rui explains to him that even if you are a cat you still have your conscience and wouldn't eat raw meat.

“Here, drink, this said cats like milk” “Lyca no! Adult cats can't drink cow milk”

If he has to go to class with you on his shoulder he will wonder why the others can't recognize you, your scent is so different to normal cat's!

I think tsk has developed an instinctual fear of the phrase “hold out your hand” because before he stopped instinctually obeying:

- rui put 10 bugs in his hand

- emu put a lizard, a pigeon, 2 bugs, and 4 rocks (he actually kept those) in his hand

- a small child at pxl wanted to give him a gift after a show and put a half eaten sucker into his hand sucker side down

- another small child gave him a used tissue for the same reason

- rui framed him for an explosion at Kamiyama by putting the detonator in his hand while being chased by teachers (multiple times)

- nene kept giving him trash from her snacks whenever there was no trash can near by

- miku used his outstretched hand to sling shot him into kaito

sharing some of my rui headcanons :]

i mentioned this in that rui gender poll from a while back, but i am personally a believer of any/all pronouns rui with gender that cannot be labelled whatsoever. i think he'd generally consider and present himself as male, but doesn't have many strong preferences about it. doesn't actively make the effort to dress "femininely," but he'd probably fuck with long skirts if given the opportunity!

and all of you know how much i base my personality off of this by now, but. aroace rui :) aroace rui who has always understood romance as a concept, a trope. he can pick up on romantic cues, but purposefully chooses to pretend they don't exist. the mere thought of him experiencing romantic attraction fills him with so much disgust he has to distract himself for hours. i'd ramble a bit more, but then we'd be here for too long..

i think he'd have really good sleight of hand! he's always had an interest for things like card/coin tricks, and picked up more after learning from kaito :) he always has a little trick or illusion up his sleeve and occasionally performs them for kids at phoeniland or just on the street!

despite having really good dexterity with his tools and tricks, he is terrible with sewing and needles. tsukasa has tried everything in his power to teach him, but nothing stops him from accidentally pricking himself.

incredibly susceptible to cold temperatures. is usually wearing a couple more layers than necessary

doesn't get sick often, but when he does, the illness hits him like a TRUCK. it takes him at least a week to recover. he's huddled up in blankets like a poor and frail victorian child, and he can barely work up an appetite. the kicker: he doesn't realize he's feeling Bad until somebody points out how horrible he looks. and that's when it settles

always needs something in his hand to fiddle with! super super good at spinning his pens and pencils (sleight of hand), and is often found twiddling with his longer strands of hair. he also has a bunch of miscellaneous screws and trinkets and trash in his pockets that he keeps to fidget with.

rui has intrusive thoughts (projecting).. most of them come from his deep fear of hurting others and anxiety regarding social perception and safety

this is already kind of canon i think but. whenever rui ever makes the effort to actually clean his room (shocking), he almost always gets distracted by something he finds, and soon enough, cleaning is no longer of his concern.

i think he'd be really good at game pigeon word hunt. and sudoku. and crosswords. all the word puzzles. and it pisses tsukasa and nene off a lot. emu is his worthy rival

this is a given, but aside from theatre, i think he'd be super into other performance arts like ballet. he'd be really intrigued by how storytelling can be completely reliant on visuals and motions with no words and lyrics. ballerina rui au is also something i've brewed in my brain a while ago but the logistics are funny

his opinion on mint chocolate ice cream: taste is perfectly fine but he doesn't appreciate the chocolate chunks at all

lots of unfinished word documents.. he's had a few aspirations about writing an actual novel instead of a script, but the ideas are like ping pong balls in his brain that interfere with his other priorities so he never actually gets much writing done.. one day he will though

The main dice members all have multiple nicknames with a few running themes like chess pieces, clown titles, card suits, and also just random things like puns or things that stuck, also every member is queer in some way and only 3 are cis (though they think its 4 before kokichi realizes that they are egg) and they get teased over it all "oh look a bus is coming Emi you better hide"

The missing member from the picture was Kokichi's first real failure, back before dice was AS serious they had that extra member, but he got tracked down by a certain private detective and forced back to his abusive family and none of them has seen Toharu since. Kokichi refuses to not still speak of him as a member, and insists one day they'll find him.

Everyone they meet more then once tends to get at chess piece nickname, but because they've long since run out of standard chess pieces it's all fairy chess names at this point like Kaito being "anti-pawn"

No one has the queen nickname though, this is to confuse and boggle people and let kokichi go "all women are queens actually"

The group you see in game is the "main" group, but dice actually has a lot of members because basically any kid or teen they help or hang out with becomes an honorary member and then stays an honorary member unless they do something to have them removed. Komaeda and the warriors of hope actually used to be some, but then they started doing ~crimes against humanity~

I always see Dice and kokichi as like, people who live in like a port town or a city with a lot of fishing culture, kokichi just kinda has boardwalk ocean eating ice cream vibes.

A good chunk of honorary members are random feral pets they've caught, got them proper shots and treatment and spayed, slapped a checked collar or other accessory on, and then given to random people and random other honorary members

They're all very much skilled at scams and cons. Jam auction? badger game? three-card monte? they know it all

The reason they wear bandanas is not just a logo, but so they can wrap it around their hands in case they need to handle something hot or use it to slide down something

They all know JSL and have a lot of loaded phrases that make no fucking sense to anyone else all

Do you see Hakuba doing a sport or martial art? I like the idea of him fencing, fits his white knight/princely image. Maybe something very 'rich people' and stereotypically British like lacrosse (team player) or golf (patience and accuracy). I don't remember if Sherlock did a particular sport (was it football hence Shinichi?). I think he'd have fun ethically hunting with Watson, if it's down the animals route horse riding could work. Clay pigeon shooting would give him an excuse to be able to use a gun despite UK gun laws too. Him as a brawler is funny though, the gentleman can be surprising rough when needed but control is important in martial arts so it's actual proportionately more peaceful if he uses martial arts rather than responding/reacting with violence naturally, it could be symbolic and have him do mixed martial arts mostly western as a nod to his mixed race heritage (I think he's proud of it rather than insecure of it as he loves his family and Japan & Britain, he knows he's handsome but still appreciates sincere compliments).

And yes, I do agree that these are sports Hakuba would do and also good at it.

His fencing skill is a perfect counter for Kaito's shooting.

Hakuba being a brawler would be funny, but canonically, he would find it 𝓓𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓼𝓽𝓮𝓯𝓾𝓵 🧐☕️⏱️.

So, if he's ever interested in combat training. It could be a character development for him. Challenges him to be quick on his feet and hands.

A couple weeks into the semester, a couple dates with Naomi's new girlfriend - Gabriella, Star comes by the dorm to check in on Naomi.

Naomi relectant to tell Star about her girlfriend knowing that her mom would be upset and wouldn't understand about having a relationship while in university. Always said that it was a distraction from what's really important, building a future for myself. But if she only saw how Gabriella was: It's going good, Star, classes are great. Roommates are less than great. There's some people here that don't shower enough or they shower too much.

Star: How does one shower too much?

Naomi: They shower so much they clog the drains with their products or hair. It's pretty gross either way the wind blows.

Star: Well, I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying it. I know your mom and you haven't talked that much since you moved out, and I'm not siding with either one of you. She sent me with a present though. She and Akira had been saving money for you since you were an infant. They wanted to set you up for success. We both agree that you should've gotten this on your birthday, your mom was just worried about how you would spend it. I talked her into letting you make your own choices and mistakes as they come. So, I've placed this account in your name and you have full control of it now.

Naomi was completely surprised, she had no idea that her mom and Akira set this up for her: How much is in it? I don't need a lot because of scholarships, but I did buy a couple things for my dorm.

Star taken back by the bold declaration of the word MOM, but was still grateful for Naomi: I love you more kiddo.
