That’s an interesting magic system. So the only difference between humans and demons is that the latter can do magic while the former can’t. Otherwise, they look the exact same. But tbh humans can use something akin to magic, because they have a way to utilize mana through aura that can be used only by the adventures and only after registering with the guild, which means that the guild is in charge of bestowing this ability on the people, because otherwise humans are unable to wield their aura to fight. And that is also the reason why Dariel all this time was the least powerful person in the demon army. He didn't have access to his innate powers, because he wasn’t raised by humans, and demons can’t do the registration ritual, because it is harmful to them and can leave them with severe injuries.

Not to mention that demon’s reliance on magic means that they’re not using any type of weapon, so those are associated with humans instead and are foreign to demons. Sword, bow, dagger, hammer etc. are “human weapons” i.e: beneath the demon to use, because they have magic for that. This is the second reason why Dariel’s talent was not recognized by the demons. He had no way of showing them how reliable he can be without access to human weaponry.
