What is Kaal Bhairav temple?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The famed Hindu temple Kaal Bhairav Mandir in Varanasi is devoted to Bhagwan Bhairava, a manifestation of Bhagwan Shiva. This historic temple is renowned for its unusual marigold-draped Lord Bhairava statue made of black stone.
On Sundays and Tuesdays, devotees line up in the narrow lane outside the mandir to offer flower garlands, brass copper utensils, and auspicious threads. The devotees practice the tradition of tying the auspicious thread around Bhagwan Kaal Bhairav’s hand and neck.
