Also I dont see many theories or stuff about it's lore so ima take a crack at it

Nameless cat follows generally the adventure of a silent protagonist kitten that's trying to get back home to it's owner

You meet several npcs which- if they aren't Nora or Jellyhead or The Caretaker, they're kinda...one note

Anyways, something i keep seeing on like the few handful theories in the game is just- about the Caretaker being a demon???

Which i highly doubt

So with my own piece of mind i think The Caretaker (aka also called "the traitor" and "the orb" by the mini pinch of a fandom) is actually an animal that died by the hands of a human

One thing with the game is that it does have a plot slightly themed around both death, longing, and animal abuse

Its why The Caretaker turns out to be a twist villain; They hate humans, and they want to rid everyone's rememberance of them

Its also KEY to note: Every anthropomorphic animal in the game was once a normal animal

Or at least, in theory that the realm you get sent to (which i like to dub as some sort of purgatory or Limbo) morphs those in it over time

After all, every animal except the Slime guy with the cross are animals- just different morphs. Some appear more humanoid than others, so i can only assume the longer you've been there the more morphed you become?

Anyways, I think The Caretaker was a crow at some point. Somehow someone confused owlvin for a crow when...you know...OWLvin. And during the fight against The Caretaker theres a LOT of crowing

And ofc, back to the theme of death, Crows.
