Tuesday Teaser

Here's a snippet I'm writing, for a prompt requested from a list, curtesy of @goldenkinglouis. Thank you so, so much for this honour and opportunity. Fluff and plenty of in its way with fun banter. Hope you love.

'OK, Liam has arrived with our other blindfold-ee,' Niall announces, slapping a hand on either side of Louis' shoulders. He could smell his best friend's aftershave the moment he spoke, a hint of cedarwood and pine needles. 

Louis turns to face the direction in where he presumes Niall is standing, presumably grinning like a Cheshire cat. 'You've just made that up, haven't you?' 

'Shit, sorry - I forgot you can't see my nonverbal replies,' he says, voice a little fainter than before. 'Yes, yes I did. It's good, huh?' 

'It's not the worst name blend you've ever come up with, I'll grant you that,' Louis quips, stunned by his own voice that's seemingly crisper and distinctively louder than he remembers it to be. He clears his throat. 'So, what happens now?'

There's a soft shuffling, followed by a clank and then a flick of the kettle. Niall's voice barely competes with the whirring and the thud of cupboard doors closing. 

'Perhaps you should consider investing in some soft closing cupboards,' Louis offers.
