Junjin’s surprise VLive today to voice his support for Minwoo 🧡
Junjin:
“Various articles were posted today about Minwoo hyung but I hope you continue to believe in him. As celebrities, all kinds of situations will arise when we go for various gatherings. But I hope you continue to believe in Minwoo hyung, support and pray for him. Well, I'm sure all of you believe in us. Please don't be upset. It is upsetting but because I believe in Minwoo hyung, so if everyone believes in him and prays for him, I'm sure the misunderstanding will be cleared up.”

171007 We need ‘Shinhwa Broadcast 2’ or ‘Shinhwa Over Flowers’ (ft. Three Meals a Day)
Shinhwa is just so good in variety shows. This is why we desperately need 'Shinhwa Broadcast' season 2.
In tvN's 'Three Meals a Day - Seaside Ranch' on October 6th, Shinhwa's Lee Minwoo and Andy came on the show as the last guests. Lee Seojin, Eric and Yoon Kyunsang laughed as they were pranked by both of them.
Lee Seojin seemed very satisfied even though they were male guests. It is because both Andy and Lee Minwoo know how to cook and successfully caught black porgies that he wanted to catch so bad. Since Lee Seojin and Yoon Kyunsang knew them through Eric, it was easier and faster for them to get closer to each other.
With their 20-year-old friendship, Shinhwa displays a fantastic chemistry and provides some major entertainment for the viewers. Shinhwa's variety show, 'Shinhwa Broadcast' on JTBC, was a huge success back in 2013.
In this episode of 'Three Meals a Day', there was no hilarious make-up or missions. However, just the fact that Shinhwa members were there all together made it fun. It was joyful to watch them fish and have drinks together.
Eric was more cheerful with his fellow Shinhwa members around. He screamed when he realized he was pranked and cheered with joy when Lee Minwoo caught a black porgy. He even said that they should call the rest of the members to join them on the island.
Eric, Lee Minwoo and Andy were enjoying their time together on the island. They were grateful and happy that they could enjoy a vacation-like time, fishing, and eating together on Deukryang Island because of 'Three Meals a Day' since the three of them could never holiday together due to busy schedules.
The viewers were also ecstatic to the three of them together in the same scene. They displayed a better chemistry than any other guest. It made us automatically think of Dongwan, Junjin and Hyesyung who were not there.
Shinhwa is a boy group that shines in variety shows. When Na Youngsuk PD directed 'SHINHWA's 18th' on V Live Plus last April, the fans requested 'Shinhwa Over Flowers' even back then.
The Shinhwa fans still got part of their wish for 'Shinhwa Broadcast' season 2 from 'Three Meals a Day' with Shinhwa members. Although it was not exactly a whole season of 'Shinhwa Over Flowers'.

Shinhwa's Hyesung does a mukbang for his fans on Naver's 'V Live'
Shinhwa's Hyesung streamed live via Naver's 'V Live' on September 7 and interacted with his fans after releasing his new special solo album, 'Serenity'!
On this day, he decided to carry out a mukbang for his fans. He started off the show by getting an order of gopchang (grilled intestines of cattle or pork), and said, "Recently, I turned on the 'V' app while eating gopchang with Junjin. I thought he would be flustered but he was so natural, it actually took me off guard."
He also chose his fellow member Andy as a person who would do well on a mukbang show. He said, "I recommend Andy because he has a big mouth. My mouth is smaller than most. I get envious of people who have big mouths; even when I'm eating a hamburger, I get everything around my face."
Did you know Hyesung had a small mouth complex?

[Op-Ed] Shinhwa and Shinhwa Changjo 2: “No given time”...a 20th anniversary that is created together
No matter how much trust has been built up between Shinhwa and Shinhwa Changjo, it will be a lie to say that they have never experienced any crisis. There has been many moments in the 19 years where the value of mutually dependent relationship they have each protected needed to be re-examined. There have been times such crises has been due to themselves and also times where it was due to the environment.
Amongst which, the most dangerous and difficult to accept situation is the former. When Junjin escaped a life-threatening accident, when Andy couldn’t be part of their 4th album’s promotions, when they couldn’t use the name “Shinhwa”, Shinhwa and Shinhwa Changjo wasn’t greatly shaken by it. In fact, they supported each other and created a strong presence.
However, little things make waves in a calm ocean. Just like how family members are greatly hurt by insignificant things, Shinhwa and Shinhwa Changjo, having independently created their relationship, have experienced numerous upsets in their 19 years.
But, this isn’t the fault of anyone. An idol provides a service and the fandom consumes it and because of that, the emotions experienced is different. To put it simply, provision and consumption, because they are fated to be on different positions, understanding and consideration for each other is necessary in order to bridge the gap.
Shinhwa and Shinhwa Changjo have steadily worked hard to bridge that gap. After their military service, Shinhwa has released a new studio album every year and held concerts, and each album had a different concept and genre. Feedback from dissatisfaction over the concerts are immediately reflected in the next day, and if they are criticised for having the same setlist, they will either add a new performance or change the arrangement.
If the fans want them to appear on variety shows, they have done so, and they have also tried communicating through Naver’s V-live, a media that’s different from the past. They also instilled faith when they say things like “We are eternal”, “We want to continue till the day we die.” In order for their title to not just be “longest-running idol”, and to let fans feel pride because of that, they have showed a passion that comparable to their junior idol groups.
For the fans, they too have adapted to the different methods, such as strategising streaming times, buying albums, and have worked hard sending text messages, in order for Shinhwa to win on music shows. They regularly go for music shows and concerts, and shook their fan lights. They silently stayed by Shinhwa’s side during tough times and provided consolation.
A singer’s future is not created simply by the existence of a fandom, neither does a singer’s future unfold by itself simply through the existence of the singer. Similarly, for Shinhwa and Shinhwa Changjo, because they have both worked hard, and that is why it is an unchanging truth that they have been the best at overcoming limitations as a singer-fandom relationship.
Shinhwa doesn’t say that the long-running of the team is due to themselves. Neither do they unconditionally give the credit to the fans alone. This is a result that could be achieved only because they have leaned on each other and passed through time together. For Shinhwa to exist till the end, everyone must make it with the same goal.
Now, the formula of “Shinhwa = long-running group” is a given. In reality, each year they spend together rewrites history for the music industry. However, the more that is the case, the more there is a need for them to remember to “not lose the preciousness from being tricked by familiarity.” Just like how the time spent till now was not easy, they did not arrive at their 19th anniversary simply by doing nothing. The same goes for next year’s 20th anniversary. There is no time that is a given.
In their 13th studio album, there is a song “Like A Star” that Lee Minwoo penned the lyrics for while thinking of the fans, and it goes: “There’s definitely no separation for us, we’ve been protecting it till now/All the trials are pages of stories to flip through”, and “Stars in the night sky/I shine because of you/Brighter than anyone”. They cannot forget about “each other”. Shinhwa’s future is made by Shinhwa and the love from the fans.

Junjin solo this year...?
I don’t know ya’ll. I feel like he’s been dropping hints about it all year. I mean he basically said that he'll have something like a comeback this year (In the V-live w/ Hyesung during the TOUCH promotions. Possible Bird’s album? damn i wish lol.) Plus, he’s gonna be on Radio Star by himself in a few days just like he did during his last solo. And if the rumor that Shinhwa is gonna play one of the KCONs this year is true then all these events are basically mirroring Jinnie’s last solo in 2015. It’s like the way he been posting makes me feel like he’s building something up. Like his most recent FB post of him solo at the dance studio. But! like I don’t know though lol. Take this with a grain of salt. a very minuscule grain of salt.

The Strange relationship between Shinhwa and SHCJ
What I am about to write on is something that happened recently which made me half concerned and half amused at the outcome.
Shinhwa had a V live recently, called TOUCH talk. Whenever they do V live together its always so much fun!! So my mood was really up
But that day something was clearly wrong. It didn’t strike me at first glance, but after a few minutes I couldn’t not notice it, and then it became all I could focus on.
Kim Dongwan normally looks like this in V live.
But on this day he looked like this
He was so quiet and still. So unlike his normal self. and EVERYONE noticed.
Something I love about SHCJ, we know our boys. Everyone knew something was wrong
Posts that looked like this flooded my twitter feed, the Vlive comment section was full of worry too. I would bet anything that 90% of people watching were just staring at oppayam, waiting for him to snap out of it
And then he did!~
It was like the sun started shining again. You could hear an audible sigh of relief from the SHCJ community. Junjin then told us that Kim Dongwan had been feeling sick and it was the first time he had laughed all night (WE KNOW). After that, things pretty much went back to normal. We watched them chat and play and laugh and SHCJ laughed right along with them.
But for 30 minutes, SHCJ around the world watched our annoying, noisy hyperactive Denghole be not himself, and all our moods fell with his.
In hindsight, it really wasn’t a big deal, he was a bit quiet but it didn't look like he was at deaths door or that he was hating the world. Andy and Eric often look like that and no one makes much comment on it.
I loved that collectively SHCJ noticed his strange mood, I love that we know him so well that everyone got worried.
It was strange but heartwarming that the whole mood of the community on V live and Twitter lifted when his did, but I think this is strong evidence of the bond between Shinhwa and their SHCJ
Shinhwa love us alot and in turn SHCJ love them back. It has really transcended a celebrity- Fan relationship and become more comfortable and real. It is a strange thing that we have with them, but it works
Shinhwa, ever the unchanging Oppas. Kim Dongwan, never lose your smile again!

one of the most unforgettable events for me is Shinhwa in KCON LA in 2015
everything about that event was amazing. Shinhwa’s red carpet, press conference, that Mnet booth & Shinhwa’s direct interaction with fans, the amazing performances of Shinhwa on stage, the amount or respect Shinhwa got as legends of Kpop, the fans’ cheers for them .. everything was so memorable & beyond perfect & Shinhwa were totally in the mood & killed it at KCON 2015
for newer fans who didn’t witness that event, here are some fancams of the memorable event. I feel for those fans in USA who couldn’t believe they finally got to meet Shinhwa in person when it was a faraway dream one day. Hopefully I get this chance too, soooooon ♥
Let’s start with the official Mnet video. Watch the touching intro ♥
"It started with six and will end with six. 20 years, 30 years. We'll be together until the day we die. We are one. We are Shinhwa." 😭

Finally got back on v-app... Realise I must be a Shinhwa antifan. Junjin saying that fans want to see them more often, while I was screaming at my phone that I didn’t want to watch them eat. Couldn’t get myself to quit the application. Just yelled at my phone because I couldn’t be bothered to write anything.
But Junjin’s English was so funny at the end. Although I was yelling through the whole thing for them to stop broadcasting because I really don’t need to see them eating live... Not that anyone would be able to peel me away from the screen when it’s broadcasting.
Hope someone can translate it. I understood most of it but was still kind of lost. I think I caught why Hyesung and Dongwan weren’t at dinner. But I don’t know what we were guessing, although the correct answer was 3?

[Kstar] The “firsts” made by 19 year old Shinhwa are?
Idol group Shinhwa welcomes their 19th anniversary. Debuting on 24 March 1998 with ‘The Resolver’, Shinhwa has release countless of hit songs, such as ‘T.O.P’, ‘Wild Eyes’, ‘Brand New’, ‘Sniper’, ‘Touch’ etc, bringing up their popularity. Unlike other idol groups then, Shinhwa emphasized on their masculinity and sexiness, thereby creating their own personality. In a fast-changing entertainment industry, here are the ‘firsts’ created by Shinhwa, who has lasted 19 years and are Korea’s longest running idols.
●Self-employed
Shinhwa restarted their promotions in 2012, after their military service, and established the company, ‘Shinhwa Company’. Eric and Lee Minwoo are co-CEOs, while the other 4 members are directors. Shinhwa Company is established solely for Shinhwa’s promotions. Shinhwa are the first idol group to personally set up their own agency. It is also known that Shinhwa takes part in album producing and dance choreography, personally seeing the album production from start to finish.
●My name is mine - battle for trademark
Shinhwa are the first idols to hold the trademark rights for their group. Shinhwa moved to Good Entertainment after their contract with SM Entertainment ended. Subsequently, in 2013, they started the process of getting back their trademark from Open World Entertainment, who had received the rights to their overseas concerts as well as their trademark from SM. During the process, to completely avoid using the trademark, Shinhwa changed their company name to ‘ShinCom Entertainment’. Shinhwa didn’t even put their name on their 11th and 12th album, which was released after the lawsuit started. The lawsuit lasted for 2 years and under compulsory meditation from the courts, finally came to an end on 29 May 2015, thus making Shinhwa the first idol group to hold the trademark rights to their own name.
● Separate yet together
Shinhwa are the first idols to use the ‘separate yet together’ strategy and achieve success. In the past, solo activities outside of group promotions were rejected. However, in 2003, Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo was the first to release his solo album, and they have since achieved successes in films, dramas, musicals etc. Eric, in his appearance on KBS’s “Win-Win”, explained their reasoning for continuing group promotions, saying, “We came together to become Shinhwa and the fans support us because we are Shinhwa. It felt disgraceful to go towards this side (solo promotions) just because you could earn more from this side.” Shinhwa’s success in their solo careers proved to many of their junior singers that it is possible to continue team promotions while developing your solo career.
●Idols who have served in the army
To male idols, military service is a great source of unease. However, as the first idol group to have served in the army, Shinhwa showed that you can continue to enjoy the same level of popularity even after military service. After their 10th anniversary concert in 2008, leader Eric was the first to enter military service, followed by Kim Dongwan, Junjin, Andy, and Lee Minwoo. Shin Hyesung was exempted from service due to his knee injury. They went through 4 years of absence but proved their relevance continues when they held their comeback concert ‘The Return’ at the Olympics Gymnasiunm, the same place they held their concert before their service, and sold out more than 20,000 tickets.
●Start of Variety-dol
Shinhwa was also the first to have a solo variety, which isn’t part of a variety program nor was it a real-variety. Often chosen as representative variety-dols, Shinhwa greeted the viewers with a different kind of fun through 2012′s JTBC “Shinhwa Broadcast”. From MC to appearance, it was a program that was led just by Shinhwa. Although it has been more than 2 years since the program ended, clips from the shows continue to spread through netizens. They recently appeared in self-produced variety ‘Shinhwa’s 18′ on Naver V App, and it will be released tonight at 8pm.
●Moustache, tanning, muscles, shaved hair! Goodby to the 4 taboos
From the last 1990s to the early 2000s, the image for idol groups were only secretive, pretty and cool. For the idols, who had to be ‘pretty-faced’ with a slim body, ‘moustache’, ‘tanning’ and ‘muscles’ were the 3 taboos they could never do. However, Shinhwa broke all the taboos without reserve. They shocked fance with extreme face painting in their 2nd album, and worked out to create muscles and reveal them for their 3rd album. Subsequently they even did tanning, had moustaches, and even shaved their hair, leaving fans to feeling resigned.
● First and last idol’s ‘nude album’
In 2001, Shinhwa were the firsts to release a nude pictorial. It was a pictorial made with photographer Kim Joongman. Judging from how there has been no other nude pictorials from an idol up till now, 19 years later, you can say it was definitely an extreme move. They subsequently debated about the nude pictorial on JTBC’s “Shinhwa Broadcast” and it has been continuously used as a talking point on variety shows. Shin Hyesung even talked about how he felt then, saying, “Without any preparation time, I was kidnapped to South-East Asia.” “Shinhwa, I love you!”
"Shinhwa! Thank you for growing up so nicely, in a few years, the time we have lived as Shinhwa will soon become half of our lives. Till then, and for an even longer time after that, I hope you continue to remain the ever-cool Shinhwa, just like you are now. I love you.” In a corner where you left a message for yourself, this was what leader Eric said, showing his deep affection for the group. In a time where there are so many groups that unfortunately disband because their contract has ended, Shinhwa is an example to others.
From facing disbandment after the failure of their first album, to 19 years later where Shinhwa are still ongoing and are chosen as role models by their juniors. They broke the prejudice that an idol’s life is only 4-5 years, and in their 20th year this January, they released their 13th album and won on terrestrial networks music shows. Just like their name, they are writing a ‘Shinhwa (legend)’, and they will hold their 19th anniversary concert on 17-18 June at the Jamsil Auxiliary Stadium.
