Chelsea Chandler stops Julija Stoliarenko in the 1st!

209! Chandler has been interesting to watch develop. It’s been obvious that she’s actually a solid athlete since her first fight but we’ve seen it paired with better and better technique from fight to fight. Like lowkey, she is a bit of tank. She’s got power and size. Julija got one takedown, tried for her armbar and then just got big sistered. Chandler got on top of her off a shot attempt from Stoliarenko and just hammered her out. I’m down for her fighting at 135 or 145. Just keep her busy. She’s one of those fighters that should be fighting 3x a year.

Julija Stoliarenko subs Jessica-Rose Clark in the 1st via armbar!

What a clean ass finish from Stoliarenko. Gets clipped out of position early, going down but got back up. Immediately steps into an exchange with Jessy Jess and as Clark comes forward, shoots the double. Floats her hips over to side control and just keeps going til she lines up that armbar and sits out for it. Jess tried to turn in but the arm was in there tight and it ended up popping before the ref could see her tapping. Great win for Stoliarenko. First in the UFC after an 0-4 start in the promotion.

Alexis Davis takes decision over Julija Stoliarenko.

Late career Alexis Davis continues to be one of the most effective leg kickers in all of women’s MMA. Not what I foresaw for her back in Strikeforce but it’s working for her. She managed to dominate the first with an early takedown and top control. 2nd round was fun, with Stoliarenko realizing she doesn’t have to back into the cage and can use the whole cage. Did a great job circling out to her left off the hook and beating Davis to the punch. Problem was Davis was landing leg and body kicks the entire time. Hits Stoliarenko with a calf kick in the 3rd and she immediately collapses. Davis gets on top and rides her out for 4+ minutes while Stoliarenko continues fishing for an armbar.

Gutted for Stoliarenko. Just cannot buy a win in the UFC. Tough competition and all but 0-4 has to hurt.
