Any time I see women in classic cinema etc. with short hair I get even more irritated at my parents asking if I wanted to be a boy when I chose to cut my hair short when I was off at ASU
#feels like a rare time where someone makes a drastic hair change BEFORE crazy/dire circumstances & events#Julie Andrews has short hair. she’s womanly#my own current gender feelings notwithstanding.#in case there’s any question about why I get irritated and cagey about exercising my own agency#I did something with my own hair that didn’t hurt anybody and got unfairly lambasted for it#but let’s keep in mind that I was also scolded for sleeping with ‘too many’ pillows.#maybe my craving structure and rigidity is because that amount of uprightness is familiar to me#but also jfc I’m allowed to make my own choices/changes to my person that don’t hurt nobody#personal#whyyyyyyyy is my mind going back to 2012 I don’t knowwwww#rant in tags
