With @toystory 4 opening & my brill friend @julianahansen playing Bonnie’s kindergarten teacher Miss Wendy, I thought it might be fun for folks to share pictures/memories of their own kindergarten teachers. Use the hashtag #MissWendy. Mine was Mrs. Shoemaker, at the long-gone El Toro Elementary School, El Toro Marine Corps Base California, 1982-1983. In these photos, I was the squirrelly kid in the red jumper. I remember Mrs. Shoemaker being kind and compassionate to a student body made up of military kids who would lead a vagabond existence as their parents got transferred from base to base. Those kids would crave a bit of stability and understanding in their unsettled lives. She provided that. Everyone in this show does. What a joy to have shared the stage and the #TAHDownUnder experience w them all!
