This is SUCH a good take and I wanted it on my blog (I hope you don’t mind)

I’ve felt the same way for a bit, especially the part abt Antonio not really getting to be .. vulnerable or having the space for that in other ships (in most people’s portrayals of him)

I like luchinini, but I do think it’s not as.. fitting as I’d like it to be? It does kinda suck that the basis is just….. Italian. I’m not hating on it at all btw, I love Luchinini a lot, I just also wish there was more love and space for Antonio and his other ships!

My personal fav is Fredtonio (jostonio is a close second) and I’ve been trying to interrogate myself abt why that is. I think the music basis is solid, but more than that, I feel like their aspirations line up in a really interesting way.

Fredrick desperately craves validation from his family + the public about his music, and wants to finish his composition. He Needs to be at the level of mastery that is societally expected of him.

Antonio reached that level, but through inorganic means, and ended up paying the ultimate price in return. Even before that, he wasn’t …. Happy. I think their interactions as a ship are very interesting, because Fredrick wants what Antonio has, essentially, and Antonio doesn’t even want what he got.

There are other ways to approach this ship ofc, as with anything, but that’s the interaction that stands out to me most. If anyone has any other thoughts do let me know!!!

i wish i could alter the past to make some ships not popular, solely because i'm SO tired of seeing them. this is mostly about luchinini because look. yeah the art is good but 1. so many people just ignore luchino's personality and interests just to shove him with antonio, whose only commonality is the fact that he's an italian man and 2. it's most of what i see in the antonio tags and very few seem to appreciate him as just himself. like. i wish a luchinini fan would explain why they ship them beyond "they got released close together" or "inferno x bone flute" bc i'm so confused
