Second FBA post listing everyone as we have them currently!

The lineage of the ‘Stars is as follows: Fireheart (Jonathan), Squirrelflight (Joseph), Lionblaze (Jotaro). It’s a tossup between Jayfeather and Dovewing for Josuke. Sparkpelt is Jolene, that much is certain, and Giorno is Tigerheart. Sandstorm is either Erina or Lisa Lisa, or both if we care to muddle the timeline again. 

Stands follow generally the same train as they do in the original story.  Fireheart and Squirrelflight initially do not have Stands, simply Hamon. Leafpool, however, has Hermit Purple, which is a major hint that she is the true mother of the trio (and since it’s my AU, I say that Hollyleaf at least eventually gets a Stand, even if she doesn’t get to use it much, but it happens like Koichi’s case - she wasn’t supposed to have a Stand, but was healed after being pierced with a shard of the Moonstone that grants people worthy these amazing powers). 

Tigerstar is DIO, Darkstripe is Vanilla Ice, Sol is Kira, and Hawkfrost is Pucci (in terms of serving the ultimate goal, that is; their relationship would have to be rewritten). Haven’t decided who will be Funny Valentine, but it could be Darktail, potentially. Someone who’s read the books with him will have to tell me if that’s a good idea. 

The Pillar Men are all from BloodClan, with Scourge as Kars, Snake and Ice as ACDC and Wham, and Bone as Santana.

2017 Writing in Review

I was tagged by @rhysiana​ to share my favourite things I’ve written this year! This year has been infinite and has gone so quickly that it turns out I’ve written almost literally nothing in fandom this year! Great! This should be brief (I’m probably lying)

So in chronological order! 

OMGCP: Frostbite - Bitty/Jack, rated T

Eric Bittle has a lot of misgivings about taking in the man who appeared out of nowhere during a snowstorm. But maybe it's not the worst idea he's ever had.

An interlude between The Origin Story and The Plot Thickens, the never completed superhero AU I started an embarrassingly long time ago. 

OMGCP: Little Sour Hearts - Holster/Esther Shapiro, rated T

The girl is wearing a candy stripe apron, and right as Holster walks into the shop, she makes a face like she’s just taken a bite out of a lemon.

“I can go,” Holster offers.

A character revival for the canonically maligned Esther, who I decided to turn into a real person. Featuring lots of Valentine’s Day anti-fluff, and questionable candy choices inspired by my own life working at the candy counter at a bookstore on Valentine’s Day, but tragically, my own life lacked one Adam Birkholtz. 

Dragon Age: What a Lovely Way to Burn - Dorian/Male Trevelyan, Cullen/Female Mage Trevelyan, Iron Bull/Female Lavellan, Rated E

No one should have survived the explosion at the Divine Conclave. But three people who should have died managed to walk away.

Evelyn Trevelyan put her own survival down to her distrust of the rest of the Mage Rebellion. Ellana Lavellan blamed luck. Max Trevelyan, on the other hand, was handed out of the fade by Andraste herself - at least that's what everyone says.

Add the right and left hands of the Divine, a Tevinter cult, and an ominous figure from ancient lore trying to kill them all, and the Inquisition is off to a great start.

Because I started writing Dragon Age fic for NaNo! Come join me in this hell of my own making! 

And speaking of hells of my own making, I did a lot of original stuff this year. 

I rewrote about 60% of the novel I’ve been constantly working on for almost seven (7) years, I wrote the entire sequel to the novel I’ve been working on for seven (7) years, or wrote it again to be congruent with the rewritten first book, and then for NaNo (in addition to the Dragon Age fic) I did this: 

Original Work: Kit and Rhiannon’s Excellent Adventure (title is temporary)

She woke in the dead of night to Rhiannon suddenly gripping her arm.

“What? What is it?” she asked.

“Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey,” Rhiannon said in a deadly serious tone Kit had only heard her use when talking about Bay Area wildfires and the way white girls in the Midwest – followed by a pointed glare at Kit – misused chopsticks.

“What about it?” Kit asked, trying to pull her arm out of Rhiannon’s grasp and getting a paw to the face from Bors for her trouble.

“What are the steps?” Rhiannon demanded.

“Just google it and let me sleep,” Kit replied, succeeding in freeing her arm and turning back over.

She nearly screamed when Rhiannon loomed over her, messy black hair actually touching Kit’s face.

“Google it?” Rhiannon hissed. “We are in a fantasy story that does not have electricity, let alone Google.”

“Get. Off. Me,” Kit replied, and put a hand over Rhiannon’s face to shove her away.

“The steps of the Hero’s Journey,” Rhiannon repeated, although she did obligingly fall back onto her side of the dog.

“Ugh, whatever,” Kit said, pressing the heels of her hands into her eyes. “Step one, the call to adventure. Step two, refusal of the call – fuck.”

“Yeah,” Rhiannon said. “Now what?”

When freshman roommates Kit and Rhiannon manage to fall into an honest to god fantasy story, they realise the only way to get back home is to see out the plot of the story they've ended up in. Their greatest strength is genre awareness, and possibly also the purple-haired and -eyed witch they pick up.

It's just...the plot they have to finish would be a lot easier to deal with if the prince mentioned in the prophecy was actually still alive, if they could reach the evil emperor without dying, if they weren't stuck with a roommate they hated, and if they could figure out which one of them was supposed to be the fabled Woman of Roses...

Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO.    it’s kind of a divided answer, people either like or hate him, but for the most part yes

Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.    i mean hot is obviously subject to personal opinion but i do know people are really into the haunted which is. i have my own concerns we’ll just say that.

Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.    i mean in some respects i can’t blame them? bethany esda really couldn’t decide that either and gives a lot of conflicting stats but considering how many times he’s laid out on his ass & people really like clinging to the weird anime uke moe whatever the fuck its called tropes rather than take into account what he does do ......... yeah

Are they underrated?  YES / NO / IDK.    see .... above ...  joseph is primarily infantilized if not outright fetishized so often in the community i tend not to look at the tag unless i purposely want to suffer and/or shower with an internal angry tangent.

Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO. .   he’s ur partner and also mows down entire mobs with a fire axe he’s relevant

Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.   they’re best buds even if “canon” sebastian likes to not act like it 

Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO.    he’s not famous or anything, no?

How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL.  i mean even his given game description is kind to others and tenacious for all of his faults, he’s good even if maybe a little too much.  

How strictly do you follow canon?  — i have an entire basket of cherries they’re very ripe. (the cherries are my opinions the writing is awful i am just trying to salvage what i’ve got.)

What inspired you to RP your muse?  —  uhhhh well last year erika made sebastian and at the time i was both curious and sick of the fandom i was in so after some playthrough watching and wiki’ing i made an account for a break i didn’t rly plan to stay on that long and now i’m here. i kid that she pushed me but if we are honest my dumb ass tripped.

What keeps your inspiration going?  —  music usually, my writing has always hinged on mood and muse appropriate music. pinterest sort of covers the other artistic half but i’ve also just always loved photography and symbolic imagery.

Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO / I SINCERELY HOPE I DO?     i give my interpretation justice because it’s mine i guess?  people out here like it and i’m having fun so that’s really all i’m shooting for.

Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO.     i actually lost track which is part of the reason for a soft reboot sdfsdfs -- right now i have a lot of them rewritten and queued though i haven’t written one in a few weeks which should probably be a record. i need to be stopped.

Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO.      only sometimes. i used to write them all the time, but anymore i have to be really inspired.

Do you think a lot about your muse during the day? YES / NO / IDK.      what qualifies as a lot ?? i guess yes more than no but  as i am usually working most of my head is usually animal facts and resentment unless i am actively talking to someone.

Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO.      i’ve had what a year and a half to decide what i’m shooting for and get a voice down so i’m pretty comfortable.

Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO.      17 years baybee

Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO.      this one is situational though tbh but i mean at the end of the day i am Soft

Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  —  i haven’t had any thusfar, i think maybe because it’s not a very large place, but i always like to hope i’m open minded about criticism if it’s something i’m genuinely doing wrong or offensively. especially as someone who is white portraying a character who isn’t, i always want to do better.

Do you like questions which help you explore your character?  —  does anyone not like this??

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  idk i guess it depends? you can dislike things without having reasons, that is a thing people do! but i’m also very open to discussions and viewpoints that aren’t my own even if i don’t agree.

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  —  ok??? i’m not holding a gun to anybody here, i do acknowledge not everyone sees characters the same way and that’s the beauty of different portrayals! as long as i’m not openly being attacked when i don’t deserve it or claiming some sort of portrayal superiority i’m just vibing.

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  —  that’s fine?? opinions are fine??? we’re out here to vibe and play with digital barbies calm down.

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  i guess? i don’t think i make a lot of them outside of the occasional typo (especially on mobile my fingers are so shaky and i type fast) and abuse of punctuation.

Do you think you are easygoing as a mun?   —  i sure hope so but that’s also not rly for me to decide?

Day 13: Heated

Surprisingly, despite Illusion being a fire-breathing dragon most of the time, her--and Inky's--ink is actually pretty cold, even when wrapped around her fiery soul. It only makes it a little better. Joey is actually the one who feels like a heater to the duo. Hence the theme.

The Forging of Brotherhood

AN: This is a scene from when both of the boys were only nine-year-olds at a sleepover at Henry's parents house after Joey's parents died in a car crash a few weeks before and Joey's brother already got adopted.

Nine-year-old Henry Stein woke up at 2:45 in the morning to the sound of crying and knew exactly what was going on.

"Joey?" he asked softly, crawling over to the edge of his bunk to climb down the ladder. His best friend's sobs hitched for a second as Joey was startled by Henry's question.

"Y-y-you're s-s-supposed to be as-s-sleep," Joey said quietly, trying and failing to hide the fact that he was crying.

"What's wrong?" Henry asked as he climbed onto the bottom bunk with his best friend.

"I j-just r-realized that after th-this s-sleepover, I m-m-might n-never s-see you ag-gain!" Joey's sobs returned to their original intensity as he clung to Henry's form.

Henry held him close as he processed that. It took a moment for him to realize that Joey was right.

With Joey's parents dead from the car crash the week before, Joey and his younger brother Michael had been placed in the orphanage. Michael was adopted immediately, the five-year-old being the perfect age and disposition to be a proposition for new family, but Joseph Anthony Drew had been labeled a problem child because of his ADHD that caused all sorts of problems for him, from harder learning to lack of focusing to his compulsivity.

No one seemed to want Joey Drew.

If this kept up, Joey would be shuffled from orphanage to foster home until he came of age at 18, and that would probably mean that Henry and Joey would never see each other again.

"Hey, hey, we don't know that!" Henry said, trying to be reassuring.

"Yeah, we do! The orphanage lady Mrs. Neiterlander said that if I'm not adopted by the end of the month, I'm going to a foster home in Rochester! And that's almost 350 miles away!" Joey cried in despair.

"We don't know that it's that far away," Henry objected.

"Yeah, we do! I took a map and measured it with a ruler! It's that far by road! We'd never see each other! We'd barely even still be in the same state!"

Good thing Henry had come up with a plan a few days before then. After all, Henry was an only child whose parents had always wanted another but kept having miscarriages until they finally just stopped trying. It didn't take much to convince his parents to adopt the young Drew into their household, especially since Henry learned that his parents had been considering it anyway and just had yet to take the idea up with Henry himself.

And besides, Henry was pretty sure that orphanages didn't allow sleepovers just for fun. No, his parents had told him otherwise. This was the orphanage seeing if Joey felt safe and happy in their home after they had inspected it and considered it good for children.

Now, this plan was supposed to be a surprise... but his friend was so sad! He couldn't just let Joey think that Henry was just going to let them take his best friend away!

After thinking over the consequences of such an action and listening to his best friend cry into his chest as he held him close a little longer, Henry came to a decision. "If I tell you a secret, do you promise to act surprised?" Henry asked finally.

Joey looked up. "H-huh?" he asked, his breath still hitching but his tears slowing slightly.

"I know a secret, and you aren't supposed to know about it until breakfast later, but I hate seeing you like this, so I'll tell you it as long as you promise to pretend to be surprised for my parents, okay?" Henry repeated.

Joey nodded, wiping at the tears on his cheeks. "Wh-what is it?" he asked through his sniffles.

Henry looked around before whispering, "My mom and dad... They're... planning on adopting you into our family."

Joey stared at him, searching for any sign of deception. "R-really?" he asked hopefully, his eyes lighting up as his spirits lifted.

Henry knew that Joey couldn't afford to allow himself to raise his hopes that high. This would be a dream come true for him if it was real. If it turned out to be a trick or a hoax, Joey would shatter. But it wasn't either of those. This was real.

"Yeah," Henry replied with a smile. "We talked together and we decided to adopt you, Joey."

"Yeah," Henry replied with a smile. "We talked together and we decided to adopt you, Joey."

"That's... I don't know what to say... Th-thank you!" Joey's tears started anew, but not because of sorrow, but of joy and relief knowing that he and Henry would get to stay together.

"I thought you would like that," Henry said with a smile.

"Does this mean... that we'll be... brothers?" Joey asked suddenly, a hopeful tilt to his voice.

Henry thought about that for a minute before replying, "Yeah. I guess it will."

Joey smiled. "I think I like that," he said sleepily.

"Me too," Henry yawned.

"I love you... brother..." Joey said as he fell asleep again in Henry's arms.

"I love you, too, Joey..." Henry whispered as he too fell fast asleep, both waiting for dawn to wake them.

The Anon looks unsure as they mutter. "So somehow the Master disguised himself as you Joey? That sounds unsettling. Do you two have any theories on his real identity when the Master doesn't shapeshift?"

Joey grabbed his halo and began rubbing it out of habit. “Yeah, he did. It was... horrible. Not only did he lock me in a closet for thirty years as he concocted a plan to get Henry back to the studio, but he then locked me in a literal cell outside his twisted lab for another eleven years while Henry was trapped in the studio too, not to mention he used my face while he did all that horrible stuff to everyone! I’m just... I’m glad I’m able to make up for it now.“

Henry put an arm around his brother’s shoulders as he sipped his hot cocoa. “As to an idea to his actual identity... Yes, actually. He’s an ink blob in the form of a man with ink instead of hair dripping down his face over this sinister grin wearing the most horrid orange suit!” 

Cassiel snickered. “It’s an awful pastel orange... I’m surprised he didn’t die of shame from wearing it!”<

Joey thought for a moment. “You know, we never did find out where he came from. He just sort of showed up the day you and I fought. Did you ever find out about him?” he asked Henry.

Henry—along with Cassiel and Julia—visibly tensed, but smoothly replied, “Nah, I didn’t. Too busy insulting his terrible suit. How about I make you a cup of cocoa, brother?”

Joey nodded. “That sounds nice. Thanks, Henry.”

As Henry stood up to get Joey some cocoa, he, Cassiel, and Julia all relaxed.

Seems like those three know something they aren’t sharing...

How did Henry become a demon in the Rewritten Story Au?

(AAAAA I GOT MY FIRST ASK! Ahem. I’ll let Henry take this.)

Henry snickered at Fantasy’s antics before turning to Anon. “Well... You see... Where do I start?”

“How about when you were originally toonified?” Joey suggested with a knowing smile.

Henry laughed. “Yeah, that sounds good. I received a letter from someone I thought was Joey and came back to the studio only to be captured by ink. I fought the grip as I was dragged deeper into the studio, only pausing in my struggles when I saw Joey, the real Joey Drew, my brother. I fought harder after that, but it wasn’t enough because soon I was shoved into a tube and drowned in ink. When I woke up, I was back by the door, unable to remember any of this, thinking and looking like I was completely human, when in fact I was a toon in disguise.”

“I watched as he was pulled from the ink,” Joey continued, “and I was in hysterics. I sobbed as the Master changed his demonic toon form—which looked a lot like Bendy—into his original human form and blocked his memories of his toonification, my only comforts being Inky and Illusion next to me.”

“About 500 or so loops later, I was forced into my toon form at the end,” Henry said. “I fought the Master with Inky and Illusion at my side and was forced to use the End Reel. The next loop was when Lucy, my daughter, was thrown into the studio too, and I started in my human form, but as the loop went on, slowly but surely, my true toony self was revealed. I’ve been like this ever since.

“This form has come with some... side effects.

When I lose my temper, I grow to double my height and become a huge scary demon. I scared quite a few people the first time I did that, including myself. The tail was annoying at first, but I’ve come to love it. When I draw things with ink, they come to life, and I can use this technique to show memories or my visions for things. I also can’t die... I mean, the loops speak for themselves. All in all, I enjoy my tooniness, and wouldn’t give it up for the world.”

“Any other questions for us?” Joey asked Anon. “We are always willing to answer you.”

Can Joey or Linda shapeshift as well in the Tiny Toon studio Au?

First off, um, it's the Rewritten Story AU. Tiny Toon Studio is the studio they start up after escaping. 

And... Sort of? Joey sort of has an inky form and Linda just lights up like a lightbulb when she's bad and eviscerates anything she considers dangerous, but this does take a lot out of her and is extremely risky so she doesn't do it often  Only Henrik truly shifts. 

Speaking of shifting, I should go draw Ink!Joseph... Toodles!
