Got more behind the scenes stuff from trying to get the screenshots needed for Petal Community.

Pine, what are you doing all the way over there? He ends up staying there until Dawn and Bubbles receive mentors....

Jitter being itchy while their companion is walking up to them.

Oh. And while I was getting Dawn and Bubbles set up for part 6, I got this notification. I remember making Mist and Berry mate so they are seen as mates in game instead of Berry getting randomly paired with Sunshower’s mom, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t select the options with the chance of pregnancy. Oh well. Guess Bubbles is gonna be a big sister already.

Oh look... this glitch again...

And of course, right as I’m finishing Bubbles and Dawn’s ceremony, I get reminded about that failed attempt to remake A Forest of Tales before I actually started calling it that, and before I tried to write the AFoT prequel series.

One day, maybe I’ll get the inspiration to return to that series. For now, maybe the AFoT cats will make cameos at some point. Would you guys enjoy that?

Warriors of the Wild: 4

Sparrow double checked that she had all the herbs she needed.

"Got enough snake skins and leaves?" A cheerful voice chuckled, pulling the pale tortie's attention towards its owner; an agile point cat with a distinct white patch on their muzzle.

"Jitter!" Sparrow purred, walking over to nuzzle her community's Rightpaw, and her closest companion. "What are you doing here? Isn't there a celebration to prepare for?"

"You leaving is hardly worth celebrating." Jitter playfully nudged the molly with their shoulder. "Things just won't be the same here without your caring gaze."

Sparrow giggled softly. "I'll only be helping our neighbors. Their healer is recovering from a dog attack, and it's only right to help where I can."

"Still." Jitter gave Sparrow's ear a soft lick. "I wish I could come with you. Cedar needs me here."

"And Icepop will do just fine keeping me safe." The pale tortie reassured. "We'll both be home before you know it!"

"Cats of this community!" Cedar called out from her perch, looking out across the clearing at her home and those who lived there. "We have a celebration today! For the two kits in the care of our Caretaker have reached the point where they can be cared for and trained by a mentor!"

Berry purred with pride as he led the two young mollies to the Community Leader.

Cedar smiled softly at the two before speaking up again. "I have discussed potential mentors with Berry, along with what roles Bubbles and Dawn wish to train for." The brown molly lifts her tail.

"Bubbles will begin training as a hunter. And who better to train her than our youngest and most energetic hunter? Bug!" Cedar called to the point molly. "Do you wish to train Bubbles in everything you know about hunting?"

"Of course!" Bug purred happily.

Bubbles excitedly bounded over to sit next to her new mentor.

Cedar scanned her gaze across the group of cats. She caught a glimpse of bared teeth dripping blood out of the corner of her eyes. But when she turned to look, there was nothing there but Fox grooming himself while the community waits to hear what path Dawn would be taking.

Cedar cleared her throat and looked back at her cats. "Right... Dawn will begin training as a warrior, in order to defend the community should dogs or foxes ever try to attack us."

"Or those bloodthirsty clan cats." Fox added, getting a swat to the ear by the Rightpaw.

Cedar understood both cats' views on Dahliaclan to the west of them. Fox came to them after being attacked for hunting in what was claimed to be clan territory. Jitter was Sparrow's partner, and the pale tortie had full trust that their neighbors meant well and would never cause the Community harm. If Fox were right to say these clan cats couldn't be trusted, what would that mean for the Community's Healer and the warrior sent to protect her?

"Whatever the future danger may be..." Cedar started, casting a glance at the two before continuing. "I am certain Dawn will become a skilled warrior. Especially because I shall train her."

Fox visibly sat straighter at that. His daughter would be trained by the Leader herself? What an honor.

Sparrow hummed softly as she sorted herbs in her den. The pale tortie had just returned from collecting moss and herbs with Berry. The ginger tabby was such a delight to spend time with.

Amber eyes glanced up from her work for just a moment... and the molly froze at what she saw. In the darkest corner, dripping with blood, were the sharp fangs of a cat.

With a startled yowl, Sparrow leapt to her feet, short fur on end.

The yowl alerted Berry, along with Rightpaw Jitter, who both came racing into the den to see what was wrong.

When Sparrow looked back at that corner, she found it empty. No cat, and no bloody teeth.
