No but I’m still thinking about this.
Marion, who’s mind is a garden full of beautiful things, leading Jean by the hand into their shared memory. He sees himself as only a vessel, empty since his soul was taken; of course he would plant beautiful things there. Of course he wants to make something grow.
Sean, furious and bitter and empty as can be, who needs to save everyone because he knows he’s a monster, who flinches at his own reflection, has always seen that, of course. Marion is the best person he knows.
And then Jean, who has taken an oath to do no harm, who only ever wants to save and to understand, loves them both. I’m not entirely sure what kind of story this is, but I don’t think she’ll entirely succeed. She looked away when she was little, but she doesn’t now. She watches the memory so she can understand and learn because that’s the only way any of this is going to mean anything. She fixes things. She sews people and creatures and the very fabric of reality back together. This is what she does. If the world was fair she could fix this. But it’s not, obviously. And this is not a happy story.
God.

imagine, if you will, the Circle of Needle & Thread but it’s a Haunting of Bly Manor AU.
When her life is upended in the wake of a tragic accident, Jinnah Basar abandons her studies to become a surgeon and takes a job as a live-in nurse in a countryside eatate. Her patient? Allison Suarez, beset by an unknown illness after the mysterious incident that killed her husband. As she adjusts to her secluded new life and her work as a caretaker, Jean gets to know the other residents of the manor: Lucas, Allison’s precocious young son; Nathaniel Trapp, the legal guardian of the estate; Beatrix Monroe, the grizzled, fiercely kind housekeeper; Sean Finnerty, the cook, fresh off of two tours of duty in Otherwhere; and, of course, Marion Collodi, the soft-spoken gardener with the most beautiful smile Jinnah’s ever seen. Something strange haunts the halls of the manor, but each of its inhabitants have their own ghosts to contend with.
#been sitting on this idea for like a year now lol#once i’m finished with north star this is going to be my next project I think 👀#candela obscura#circle of needle and thread#ask games#ask

Shootout to @avengingannie who pointed out that the eyeballs in hearts are significant! You were RIGHT!
Guess what Marion said as he was closing the rift? A fucking eyeball on a (heart)string!
And since my previous theory was debunked now I can go back to the drawing board and see what we can come up with. Here's the facts that we have:
Marion got his scar when he was 7. The shape doesn't point out to any particular violent even but it does resemble starty night petunias which grew in his parents garden which are his favourite flower. And Marion KNEW he lost a soul that night.
He was also a sleepwalker and it took his parents a whole YEAR to find that scar on his chest.
At the age of 8 his father called Jinnah's father who was a doctor though in here he was some sort of exorcist and it is said that Jinnah's father HAD SEE THIS ALREADY exactly ONCE and it is implied in the second vision, they one Marion and Jean share that it was Jean that also does not have a soul.
But his first premonition, according to Marion if he were truthful was in the trenches not sooner.
Question arises does the lack of soul ties to his ability to see the future or is it a side effect of it? Or was he chosen to have his soul removed because he was destined to have those premotions?

The Circle of Needle & Thread as Radiohead songs
Inspiration has struck! I am obsessed with Candela Chapter 2 and also really like Radiohead so I kinda just had to. Dunno if this is for anyone but it fits so well!
1. The whole circle:
Pyramid Song
I jumped in the river and what did I see? Black-eyed angels swam with me
This one fits on vibes alone but also bc of the river in the last ep and the black-eyed angels could be the creatures if you squint.
The Gloaming
Murderers, you're murderers We are not the same as you When the walls bend with your breathing They will suck you down to the other side To the shadows blue and red.
We are not the same as you? I mean c'mon! The walls bending at the Fourth Pharos, They will suck you down to the other side, blue and red light! It just fits!
Spectre
I'm lost, I'm a ghost Dispossessed, taken host My hunger burns a bullet hole A spectre of my mortal soul
Because of the 'host-thing' and the romance themes, this feels like it leans more towards Marion. But it kinda is too dark for his hopeful personality. We also got lines like "anger is a poison" which feels very fitting for Sean. Sidenote: I still get so angry thinking about how they rejected this song for the Bond-movie wtf?
4 Minute Warning
This is just a nightmare Soon I'm gonna wake up Someone's gonna bring me 'round Running from the bombers
It's PTSD innit?
2. Jean "Jinnah" Basar:
Everything In Its Right Place
Everything in its right place Yesterday, I woke up sucking a lemon
This one is a given! Not much to say except that it speaks to Jean's exact and analytic nature.
House of Cards
I don't want to be your friend I just want to be your lover No matter how it ends No matter how it starts
Jean's balancing of Candela and EONS being like a house of cards. Her initial denial of her own guilt and relationship to magick. Her feelings towards Marion.
3. Marion Collodi:
Daydreaming
Dreamers, they never learn Beyond the point of no return
Also a given! This was honestly what inspired me to make this post in the first place. Both the vibe and the lyrics fit very well!
Desert Island Disk
Born of a light, born of a light The wind rushing 'round my open heart An open ravine with my spirit wide Totally alive and my spirit light
Marion and his soul, especially the speech in ep 3 where he says he feels whole without one.
4. Sean Finnerty:
2+2=5
It's the devil's way now There is no way out You can scream and you can shout It is too late now Because you have not been paying attention
Gaahh I am unable to be normal about Sean Finnerty! Can I appropriate a song written about George W. Bush to be about Dr. Oliver Nero? You betcha! To me this song speaks to the lies told by authority figures and how they have destroyed Seans life.
Ful Stop
You really messed up everything If you could take it all back again Strike up the tinderbox Why should I be good if your're not?
Why should I be good if you're not! Very much giving Sean in ep 3!
5. Beatrix "Auntie Bea" Monroe
No Surprises
Such a pretty house and such a pretty garden
Bring down the government, they don't speak for us! The rest is self-explanatory.
Give Up the Ghost
Gather up the lost and their souls into your arms Gather up the pitiful into your arms
Auntie Bea and all those she takes under her wing.
6. Nathaniel Trapp
Go to Sleep
Someone's son or someone's daughter Over my dead body This is how I end up sucked in Over my dead body
A song about the dehumanizing effects of war. Trapp's guilt over Marion and the Finnerty boys getting sucked into the military.
Glass Eyes
Hey, it's me, I just got off the train A frightening place, the faces are concrete grey In the oh-so-smug glassy eyed light of day
Get it? Because of his eye? And also anxiety... and trains!
Bonus: The Creatures:
We Suck Young Blood
Are you fracturing? Are you torn at the seams? Would you do anything?
The Candela vibes are strong with this one!
Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief
The ones you light your fires to keep away Is crawling out upon its belly And all you have to do is say yes
Both these songs remind me of the son trying to convince Sean to let him in.
Update! How could I forget:
Suspirium (By Thom Yorke)
When I arrive will you come and find me? Or in a crowd be one of them? Mother wants us back beside her No tomorrows, at peace
An anthem for the son!

Punjabi - Dark Green Jatt Flag of our Jatt Qom, Qabila, Ilah, etc. to Un... Punjabi - Dark Green Jatt Flag of our Jatt Qom, Qabila, Ilah, etc. to Unite our Jatts or PERISH. https://youtu.be/nzROOL0hLC8 GREEN JATT BANNER WITH JATT QOM, QABILA, ILAH, ETC. WRITTEN IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES WITH BLOOD-COLOURED LETTERS. JATT QOM ZINDABAD. Green stands for Nature full of vigour and life whilst brown the dead vegetation. We have family trees and those who remain faithful to our family, are GREEN whilst those who are unfaithful to our family, are thrown out or cut off from the family tree and they die called “SUKKOT”, the dried wood. Now, Yahweh, Brahma, Khudah, etc. is the creator of Nature and Adam was created by Yahweh, the demiurge Potter. So, Yahweh is the Lord of creation and if you are unfaithful to your tribal father, then you are thrown out of the creation and die. This Christ Jesus stressed in his Saying, “Every plant, person, that my heavenly father Yahweh did not plant, becomes unfaithful to his tribal father, will be uprooted, killed called “Sukkot””. Parallel Saying of Satguru Nanak Dev Ji is this; BEEO BEEJ, people who remain faithful to their tribal father (BEEJ), PATT LAYE GAYE, they lived Peacefully, ABB KEUN UGWAE DAAL, WITHOUT YOUR TRIBAL SEED, the very Source of Salt, Sharm, Heya, etc. or born of water, tribal father “Ilah”, you cannot have a Plant that will bear FRUIT – DHARM, Eemaan, Faith in Al-Ilah = Allah, our Supernatural Father Elohim, Parbrahm, etc. of our supernatural “soul”. A practical demonstration of this is that Jacob had 12 sons and out of these only Joseph was telling the truth to Father Jacob. The liar 11 colluded together to kill Joseph for exposing their lies. So, instead of killing him, they sold him as a slave to the Egyptians, the faithful sons of Abraham. The Egyptians honoured Joseph for his spiritual talents and let him rule the country as the Prime Minister. Now, back home none was faithful “Salt” of Saint Abraham. Yahweh who brought Abram of the Semitic Race from the Iraq area was not happy and he didn’t give them rain. The Promised Land, the Garden of Eden became Barren and they had to leave it for Egypt where they showed their characteristics and ended up as slaves, “Salt” not even worth throwing at the Manure Heap. Moses brought them back as the Faithful Sons of Abraham and the same Promised Land was of honey and milk. This is described by Jesus in the Parable of the Prodigal Son, Isaac. Now, let us apply to our Punjab, the land of our Jatt fathers. Under Chaudhry Chhotu Ram Ohlyan Jatt of Rohtak, we were all united together under the very simple principle, Jatt is our physical body Qabila, Qom, Ilah, etc. and religion is of heart a Shirt that you can change at will but NOT your Jatt Qom. He kept all our village people together as in our villages; we honour our workers as if they are our uncles and aunts. These religious Satanic people called Al-Djmar Al-Aksa tried to replace our Jatt Qom with religious colours but couldn’t succeed. Lala Mohd. Ali Jinnah, a Babla Bhatia wanted to create Muslim Brotherhood fanatics but our Jatt Qom Pillar Chaudhry Chhotu Ram Ohlyan Jatt told him to leave the country within 24 hours or he will be locked in jail. Such was our Unity that these religious fanatics had no chance to split us but soon after his death, we were caught in their web and in 1947 they succeeded in dividing our country in which our own Jatts killed each other called Qom Ghattak. Now, is the end times and Matt 13v24-30 is getting fulfilled. The Tares, religious fanatics who killed Jesus have returned back and they want their Promised Land that belongs to the circumcised sons of Isaac of the Semitic Race but they are not so. Many are white and Negroes of altogether different races that have no right to occupy the Promised Land of Abraham, Father of the Faithful. So, learn a lesson from them and be united under the Banner of Jatt Qom and not under Hindu Jatts, Sikh Jatts and Muslim Jatts that are NOT QOMS but super bastard fanatic devils called “SHANKAR VARNIYE HARRAAMI”. The house, fields and family belong to the Jatt. Then who will look after them, the Jatt? Religious places belong to the religious communities and not to the tribes. Thus, in the 1947 and 1984 sectarian riots, the “SUKKOT”, unfaithful to their tribal fathers killed each other. That would not have happened if we had stayed under the Banner of Jatt Qom. End times have approached, keep united or PERISH. For our Union, our Flag should be green colour written over it Jatt in various languages with Blood Red colour to stress that our Blood is One. Promised Land of Saint Abraham is strictly for the Semitic sons of Isaac... Promised Land of Saint Abraham is strictly for the Semitic sons of Isaac and not for the foreigners. https://youtu.be/YqUI49VtX00 Holy Gospel of our Supernatural Father of our “souls” Elohim, Allah, Parbrahm , etc., delivered by the first Anointed Christ, which in Punjabi we call Satguru Jesus of the highest living God Elohim that dwells within His most beautiful living Temple of God created by the greatest artist demiurge potter, the lord of the Nature Yahweh, Brahma, Khudah, etc. and it is called Harmandir or “Emmanuel” if you are not “greedy” according to Christ Rajinder:- The god of the Old Testament displayed the natural instincts of the once-born people who go by the natural law of tit-for-tat. This Jesus displayed when He turned the tables of the money changers in the Temple of his heavenly father Yahweh whilst in our collective Supernatural Father Elohim, Allah, Parbrahm, etc., He turned the other cheek to hit at the conscience of the person in the Temple who slapped Him but the person was “Saltless” with no “conscience” of the Satan Al-Djmar Al-Aksa. That is what the “Saltless” stooges of the Temple Priests and Mosques are doing today. He is jealous and revengeful and will kill you if you are not faithful to your tribal father Ilah. Also, if you do not know your tribal father, then you cannot know your spiritual Father Al-Ilah = The Father of our "souls". Yahweh didn't give rain to the 11 liars and murderer sons of Jacob, who were unfaithful to Yahweh and Abraham. So, this planet Earth belongs to Yahweh and His creation sons and not to the sons of Satan Al-Djmar Al-Aksa. In Africa and Brazil, people have tribal marks and they never go hungry. And that is what Jesus told Lazarus, so far you are the faithful sons of Abraham, and then Yahweh will feed you. People who are unfaithful to their tribal fathers such as Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Jew, etc. outwardly of flesh called Tares - Matt 13v24-30 -, will burn and kill each other in the sectarian riots. For example, India's Partition is based on Hindu, Sikh and Muslim, Tares. Our Chaudhry Chhotu Ram Ohlyan Jatt kept us united us as the one tribal people of the Jatt tribe and soon after his death, these three shopkeepers Lalas Lala M.K. Gandhi, Lala Tara Singh Malhotra Khatri and Lala Mohd. Ali Jinnah, a Babla Bhatia gave us religious colours making us unfaithful to our tribal fathers, and we killed each other. The same is happening in Israel today. The country strictly belongs to the faithful sons of Abraham of the Semitic Race and not to the religious selves Jews and Muslims. So, Yahweh, Khudah, Brahma, etc. is killing them. At the time of Moses, the people of Israel were 100 per cent of the Semitic Race and they took over the land from the Egyptians peacefully and had no killings - Parable of the Prodigal son Isaac that were brought back into their Garden of Eden by Moses. Much more in my other YouTube 8700 Videos Channel One God One Faith. Allah is NOOR and you cannot apply Sharia Laws that bind you on NOOR that sets you FREE. This Islam is not of Allah called INSHALLAH but of Mullahs called Inshmullah. Our Khokhar Jatt Chaudhry Saddam Hussein Khokhar Jatt was executed by the American Jews. JEWS THEMSELVES ARE ANTISEMITIC. www.gnosticgospel.co.uk/JAntisem.htm A Jew is spiritual of heart inwardly and not in the flesh outwardly. So a Jew is never born or dies but the tribal people of Judah, Levi, Benjamin, etc. led by their blind guides, the “sinners” died. Such sinners were killed by the tribal English and Germans in the Holocaust. Today, Matt 13v24-30 is getting fulfilled and the sons of Satan Al-Djmar Al-Aksa are being bundled up in Israel for the Final Burning. The Palestinians also cannot build their covenant with Abraham and so, the Tares will burn and kill each other. This planet Earth is for the habitation of 144000 tribal sons and not Jews, Hindus, Sikhs or Muslims. Goonj: Echoing Mantis & Duurbeen: Moving Images on 29th March 2018 at Mantiq of the Mantis A day of surreal sounds, time travel and traversing the real to the irreal! Goonj: Echoing Mantis launched its first event on 29th March 2018 at Mantiq of the Mantis with Mehreen Murtaza's live installation '...how will you conduct yourself in the company of trees' and Duurbeen: Moving Images screened a video by
Hira Nabi
'what do the trees tell us?' Mantiq of the Mantis introduces an on going experience of encountering sound through multiple dimensions that reframe our everyday soundscape. Here, we escape the habitual notion of time and space, gradually re-discovering the breathing of sound that seems so vast, almost infinite and glacial. We consider the poetics of aurality through a combination of the sonic effects of anamnesis and decontextualization.A special thank you to everyone who helped MotM with this event!

Set up in Baagh-e-Jinnah (Lawrence Garden), Lahore as part of Lahore Biennale till 31st March on a hill top where a Banyan / Bargad / Bori Tree has been living, listening and holding memories for almost over 60 years. The tree has been given a voice through human technology which converts electro-magnetic signals to sound. The Bargad sings to us as we move, interact and connect with it. What can we learn by listening to our silent companions?Mehreen Murtaza works across a range of media to explore the intersecting worlds of technology, nature, science and spirituality. Mehreen is an artist based in Lahore, Pakistan. She has exhibited her works internationally and received many grants, awards and scholarships to execute her artwork.
