Strudel, Jingle J. Jester, and Kuiper Readjusting
Strudel was the first to exit rest mode after transport. They looked around the room they now found themselves in. Two beds paired with a small drawer, each in a corner, and a box containing the belongings of all three attendants from their location in the middle of the room
Kuiper was in the other bed from Strudel, and Jingle Jester was presumably in their metal box in the corner.
She would NOT like that when she woke up, Strudel mused to themselves,  sliding off the bed and walking to the large box and opening the top to allow light inside. That would bring Jingle comfort when they woke.
Strudel then gravitated to the cardboard box of belongings. They removed their own items; spare bells, a scrapbook full of kid's drawings, and an 'emergency craft kit' containing three sheets of paper, a baggie of ten googly eyes, safety scissors, and a single jar of maroon glitter glue. They placed the items atop the drawer next to their desk.
Now, they wait for the others
~~~~~
The first thing Jingle J. Jester was aware of is that they were back in their box. Without a second thought they sprung out and onto the floor, their many bells jingling and alerting Strudel to their presence.
"Jinglie! Good afternoon~!" Strudel chimed, skipping over to their companion and offering her their hand. She took it and hopped up into her feet, before immediately lifting Strudel off the ground.
"Strudel! Hi! Are we here now? Are we staying here?" Jingles asked, rocking back and forth.
"I think so. I haven't heard much since I activated. I'm so glad you're awake now, I was *dreadfully* bored!" Strudel exclaimed, unbothered by the fact that they were being restrained above the ground.
"Do we have games? Can we play games?" Jingle asked, nay, pleaded.
"I'm sure we can find something, but be careful, Kuiper isn't up yet, okay?"
"Okay!"
~~~~~
Kuiper was slow to power up. They took a long while to wake - their literal internal system was rather strict, only activating them when it was 'naptime' or when children under the age of five were present. Manually booting them up was likewise a nightmare - it was good for saving money on electricity costs, but not so much for Strudel and Jingle Jester getting to interact with them.
Strudel, of course, knew the moment Kuiper was going to power on and paused their game with Jingle - a strange wordplay game that the two were very good at - to sit down and wait for Kuiper. Jingle clapped their hands in excitement, impatient to be able to speak with their other parent figure.
Kuiper's metal eyelids raised halfway - as they only ever did - and they sat up, crossing their legs and resting their four arms on their lap. They looked at Strudel and Jingle with a nod of acknowledgement before looking around the room. It was... smaller than they would have expected, considering it was housing three animatronics. Then again, Jingle was likely expected to remain in her box.
What a stupid idea. She hated the box.
"Did you sleep well?" Jingle asked, to which Kuiper let out a small amused huff.
"Yes." They didn't sleep, not really, but they had no issue with indulging in Jingle's question nonetheless. Despite the jester being significantly taller than Kuiper and Strudel, they seemed much more akin to a child than an actual adult.
"Would you like to join us in our game, Kuiper? I think you'd do really well!" Strudel chimed.
"I'd love to."

October 5th
Prompt: Doll 🧍‍♀️
"Katie, I cannot believe you let that thing into our home."
"The four of you have enough toys in this apartment, I deserve to have some on display too!"
"Because people like RC helicopters and video games - Not creepy jesters in ratty clothes with cracked porcelain faces. You're going to curse the entire building!"
Maybe Roxy made a mistake when she asked Kendall and Katie if they wanted to check out some garage sales in the Hollywood Hills this afternoon. If she had known their trip would have ended in a big, blowout fight between the two siblings, she wouldn't have asked them to hang out at all.
The subject of the fight: A doll Katie had found in the bottom of someone's plastic bin of weird Barbies and disturbed Bratz.
Ignoring every word pouring out of her brother's mouth, the young girl proudly placed it in one of the large cubby shelves in the hallway that led to the bedrooms of 2-J.
"Would you stop being such a baby?" She asked, jingling one of the bells hanging from the doll's hat as she set it in a seated position next to one of the many toy robots the band had set there after the apartment had been remodeled. "There are no such things as curses."
The doll wasn't cursed; Roxy had made sure of that before Katie purchased it at the sale for a whopping ten cents.
Admittedly, Roxy loved it when her non-supernatural friends made such claims. It made her want to whip out her spell book and prove them wrong right then and there.
For these two... maybe a curse where one of them is always destined to wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep until someone sings to them...
Kendall's words unwillingly pulled the witch out of her daydream, "Mom's going to hate it."
"Mom's not going to let you bully me!"
At the moment, Roxy felt a lot like the jester on the shelf, just sitting there and watching the Knight siblings fight.
Weighing the pros and cons of materializing a jester hat on her head right then and there, she flinched when both of them turned to her, eyes pleading the writer to take one side over the other.
"Guys, I don't-"
"Like the doll?"
"Like Kendall?"
"Katie!"
"Ugh! You never let me have any fun!"
The youngest Knight took off down the hall, each step shaking the floor a bit as she stalked into the master bedroom she shared with her mother and slammed the door.
To her credit, Katie was right. Roxy didn't really like Kendall right now. Even if the doll was a little spooky, its deep purple and green onesie was kind of cute. The belled hat and clown make-up matched too; Whoever had made this doll put a lot of care into it and she found it nice that Katie was willing to give it a nice home.
Pinching his thumb and forefinger to the bridge of his nose, Kendall closed his eyes and lifted his chin to the ceiling.
After a moment, he stopped, bending down to face the doll his sister had set up, and vowed, "I'll get you, you little weirdo."
Since his back was turned, Roxy had no problem swirling her finger to release some amber sparkles into the air and cast a small illusion spell.
Taking root on the doll's chipped, porcelain features, she conjured the image of razor-sharp teeth nestled between an ear-to-ear smile paired with a nice hissing sound. Good thing she had watched that nature documentary with Logan the other night and the sound of the hiss the reticulated python made was fresh in her mind.
The ear-splitting shriek Kendall let out before crying, "I'm sorry!" repeatedly as he ran to his room sent his assistant doubling over with laughter.
She just wished Katie had been there to see it.

This is serious business. Which is why I'm pulling for Fu Xuan while wearing my Serious Business Suit. Which may or may not look like scrub pants and a t-shirt

Dearest Maestro,
It has been a very long time since I last contacted you. A very weary, dreary time indeed... No matter what I did, I itched for the excitement of the dance with death I shared while in contact with you. And seeing how you're getting on with dear Sketchbook, why, I might even be a touch green with envy! My bells are jingling on my feverish wrists as I write this to you. I'm simply overcome with emotion... Please, won't you grant me a place in your mind once again? Your fool has returned to the court, eager to learn and please, Maestro.
Warm regards,
~ J
[[guess who's back!]]
You speak as though you've lost my attention at all! I'd certainly not ever forget one of my most intriguing of guests! To the contrary, I've wondered how you've been faring myself.
You needn't fret over the lack of my presence, however - Time flows through all things. If you think of it that way, I'm practically everywhere!
As for Sketchbook, we've just had a little more time to bond - while it may not be the same sort of bond you and I have, I strongly suspect our friendship will only grow stronger from here. :)
As always, I am thrilled to hear back from you, dear Jester!
