I'm incredibly pleased to announce that the "falling in love with a fish" novel is really sweet and delivers on the ridiculous premise AND MORE. The tyrant's pet fish is such an underrated gem I can't believe it doesn't have more fics and art and more fandom in general, and I can't believe I found it because of people joking about fish MPREG.

The MC isn't annoying, or overtly dumb, he is a bit clueless sometimes, mainly because he underestimates the ML ability to see how clearly THIS FISH IS NOT NORMAL, and the ML is surprisingly intelligent and even if he is called "A tyrant" he really isn't: he is a bit overprotective, jealous and ruthless to random npcs but considering he is in a politically vulnerable situation in a totally different era with different standards for "appropriate behavior of people in power™" you sort of understand his ruthlessness, specially because he is super respectful towards the MC, quickly learning from his mistakes and never pressuring him to do or say anything he doesn't want to. Even for MODERN BL standards he is a shining light, and they have really good communication considering one is a FISH WHO CAN'T TALK, and the other one was born mute
