This was the tenth straight year Little Linksters™, LLC, along with the Little Linksters™ Association for Junior Golf Development (501c3) has hosted this kid-centric contest. Once again, this year, some very heavy hitters from the golf world joined the cause, including World Golf Hall of Fame members, Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sorenstam, and PGA Tour Star, Jordan Spieth. They will join a team of US and International based PGA and LPGA teaching professionals. The judges include, US Kids Golf Top 50 instructors Michelle Holmes, Zoe Allen from Ireland, and Tom Reid from the UK, as well as acclaimed Canadian Instructor, Jason Helman. They all will join the contest’s host, and Little Linksters founder, Brendon Elliott, who was named the PGA’s National Youth Player Development award winner in 2017.
This popular contest allows parents to upload a video to YouTube of their “Little Linksters” swing. Videos this year were submitted from January through the end of July and winners were crowned in four age groups—ranging from ages 3 to 12. Voting was conducted by a panel of industry veterans and experts. This is an inclusive contest, with fun at its center point, so all children, regardless of ability are always encouraged to submit their swings!
“In what has been an incredibly challenging year in many respects, we were determined to once again offer this opportunity to children and showcase to the golf world what the youngest among us can do with a golf club. This contest is primarily about fun and celebrating a game that is blind to age…kids as young as two years of age can love this game and we see that year in and year out.” explained PGA Professional Brendon Elliott, founder of Little Linksters™, LLC and Little Linksters™ Association for Junior Golf Development. “Over the years, we have been very humbled to have had such a recognized and esteemed celebrity panel of judges including Jordan Spieth, Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, Andrew “Beef” Johnston, Tony Jacklin, Annika Sorenstam, Hank Haney, Kelly Sheehan, Lexi Thompson, Jim McLean, Win McMurry, Paula Creamer, Nicole Weller, Chuck Evans, Brittany Lincicome, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Keegan Bradley, Mark Bradley, Allen Wronowski, Frank Nobilo, David Leadbetter, Michelle Wie and Holly Sonders.” added Elliott.
This year’s contest saw just shy of 200 entries poured in from over 15 countries from around the world. Elliott, is a US Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teacher (2010, ‘11 and ’12), a 2013 US Kids Golf Top 50 Master Kids Teacher, a four- time NFPGA Junior Golf Leader award winner (2011-14), as well as a five-time Top 50 Growth of the Game Teacher as named by the Golf Range Association, was named the PGA of America’s National Youth Player Development award winner in 2017. More recently, Elliott was named a 2019 GRAA Top 50 Elite Status Growth of the Game Teacher and one of Orlando Family Magazine’s 2019 Men of the Year. Brendon leads the judging of the Best Pee Wee Swing contest each year. He was assisted by this year’s celebrity panel of judges.
Taking part in the 2020 campaign were:
• Jack Nicklaus— World Golf Hall of Fame member and the man that holds the record for the most major championship titles in the men’s game. Known to many as the best male golfer of all time. Mr. Nicklaus is making his fourth appearance as a judge in the Best Pee Wee Swing Contest.

She won 90 international tournaments as a professional, making her the female golfer with the most wins to her name. • Jordan Spieth— Jordan is a three-time major winner and the 2015 FedEx Cup champion. In April 2016, Time magazine named Spieth to its list of the "100 Most Influential People", noting that he "exemplifies everything that's great about sports." Spieth's first major win came in the 2015 Masters Tournament where he became the second youngest golfer (behind Tiger Woods) to win the Masters. He then won the 2015 U.S. Open with a score of 5-under-par. He was the youngest U.S. Open champion since amateur Bobby Jones in 1923. This will be Jordan’s third time as a judge in our contest.

The Little Linksters™ golf program in Central Florida was originally designed specifically for children ages 3 to 8 years old but has expanded in recent years to include ages up to 18 and children of all abilities. The introductory program is taught in a fun and interactive way, using both traditional and non-traditional instructional methods to ensure children’s first introduction to golf is FUN! The Little Linksters™ Association for Junior Golf Development, a 501c3 nonprofit in conjunction with AAU, is continuing to develop a national program that will enable teaching professionals from across the country to grow their business and the game of golf with a proven program that combines a child-friendly approach, a complete program curriculum, and uses items from some of the industry’s best training aid and junior golf equipment companies. One of the Association’s most prized projects, called G.O.A.L.S. (Golf Outreach Advances Life Skills) is specifically aimed at introducing children ages 3-12+ with special needs to the game of golf. In doing so, children will learn valuable life skills that will help them throughout their life. The Special Olympics of Central Florida is a proud partner of Little Linksters™ efforts with this program. Support of the G.O.A.L.S. program has also come from the Alliance for Accessible Golf as well as Jordan Spieth and the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation.
Little Linksters has added additional programming in 2020 that touches children ages 3-10 as well as 11-16 that are in economically challenged situations and that may have never had an opportunity such as those that Little Linksters™ offers, to play golf. “Golf is more than a game; it is a tool to teach young children so much more and we hope to use this tool to enhance the lives of as many children as possible explains Elliott, Little Linksters™ founder and Executive Director.

Miami's Top 10 Golf Courses
Miami is a beautiful destination for golf enthusiasts, with a wide range of golf courses available. You may discover a system that works for you anywhere, from Donald Trump National Doral to Greynolds. You may also play FootGolf, a unique game that blends soccer and golf.
The nine-hole, par-36 Greynolds Golf Course in North Miami Beach is an excellent area to practice your swing. Mark Mahannah designed the course in 1964, and it featured undulating greens. It is handicap accessible and has reasonable green fees. It also features electric golf carts and a large clubhouse where golfers may relax.
This public course, built in the 1960s, provides an inexpensive nine-hole, par-36 course for both expert and beginning golfers. More than 2,000 mature trees flank the fairways throughout the system. Unlike many golf courses, the course lacks water hazards. However, the presence of trees compensates for this shortfall. The course is hard enough for expert players to develop their game while being soft enough for beginners.
Trump National Doral has various dining options, from casual to gourmet dining. The BLT Prime restaurant serves cutting-edge food with a comprehensive wine list, while the Champions Bar & Grill serves basic upmarket meals with magnificent views of the resort scenery. Each room also contains a television, coffee machine, fully equipped desk, and stocked minibar. Guests can select between ordinary bedrooms and suites, which have a king-sized bed in the main bedroom and two queen-sized beds in the second bedroom. Some suites have a sleeper couch in the open-air living area for extra sitting.
Trump National Doral, located in Coral Gables and Key Biscayne, has four championship golf courses. It also provides luxurious lodgings and 5-star service. The courses offer stunning city views and are suitable for golfers of all ability levels.
Turnberry Isle is a five-star resort with two championship golf courses. Raymond Floyd remodeled the golf courses previously known as the North and South. The Miller golf course has shorter, more forgiving greens, but the Soffer course is more complex and has more water hazards. The techniques are in terrific shape and provide an excellent golf test.
Turnberry Isle has two championship 18-hole courses. You may stroll or rent a golf cart to use the golf course's facilities. The system is also ideal for newcomers to the game. You may also take lessons or play a game of FootGolf to improve your golf abilities.
La Gorce Country Club, located in Miami Beach, is a world-class golf course created by Donald Ross in 1925. Over the years, it has welcomed professional golfers and celebrities. It also serves as the location for the famed Jim McLean Golf School. The course included beautiful tropical vegetation and was a former army training area. Robert Trent Jones modified the method and reduced the number of bunkers in 1969. He also incorporated water hazards within the course.
La Gorce Country Club is a private 18-hole golf course between the Bay Harbor beachfront and Indian Creek. Only by invitation is membership granted, and it is home to the famed Jack Nicklaus. The course is well-kept and provides PGA golf lessons. It is one of South Florida's most elite golf clubs. The thirteenth hole, a 161-yard par three, is its hallmark.
Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne is the place to go for a one-of-a-kind golf experience in Miami. This 18-hole golf course is located near Key Biscayne Village, about ten minutes from downtown Miami. This problematic course boasts a lengthy, dog-leg layout with water on both sides of the fairway.
The course was built in 1972 by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin and has hosted multiple PGA Tour tournaments. Seven lakes, mangrove swamps, and subtropical lagoons are included in the design.
Shula's Golf Club is a championship golf course with leafy trees, lakes, and streams. It also has a driving range, a practice area, and Shula's Steakhouse. Golf Digest rates the club three and a half stars open every day until nightfall. Guests may either enjoy the course or stay at the Shula Hotel. There are 205 guest rooms and 16 conference rooms in the hotel.
The Senator Course at Don Shula's Golf Club is a championship course that begins easy and gradually gets tougher as golfers continue. Nearly every hole on the course has water, and the fairways are small. Bill Watts developed it, and is available to golfers of all ability levels. In addition to the golf course, the club offers tennis facilities, a fitness facility, and numerous expensive eateries.

Students will have access to all of the golf school facilities, including the high-tech Superstition, where their swings will be filmed, watched, and analyzed. Children will receive written evaluation reports with photographs of their golf swings, prizes, an official cap, and a certificate of completion. Students will take golf lessons and course instruction in the mornings and afternoons. The midday break will consist of lunch at Bungalow's Grill and free time the Blue Lagoon. Kids will love the famous Blue Lagoon's four pools, many Jacuzzi, shady cabanas, and the thrilling 125 foot water slide.
3. The Golf Academy at Fleming Island Golf Club
The Golf Academy at Fleming Island offers an affordable, quality half day camp for junior golfers. Fleming Island Golf Club is just 20 minutes from World Golf Village and 10 minutes from Orange Park, so it's a great option for families staying at nearby resorts. This terrific course was designed by Bobby Weed, with a links style front nine and the back nine winding through towering pine trees. It has a great restaurant and is conveniently located just minutes from bustling downtown Jacksonville.
The Golf Academy's priority is making sure kids have fun playing golf. The specially trained instructors know that the key to developing a great game is finding a true passion for the sport.
The weekly beginners camp is from 9-12:30 on Monday-Friday for kids aged 6-13. Children will learn the basic rules of the game and begin to develop their skills.
The advanced camp is from 12:30-5:30 on week days for golfers aged 10-17. Every day, it includes lunch, 2 hours of instruction, and 9 holes on the course.
Locals should also check out the Little Eagles Golf Little League to sign their kids up for after school lessons three days a week.

The Club at New Seabury’s Director of Golf Instruction Named NEPGA Cape Cod Chapter Teacher of the Year
Jimmy Damiano’s Relatable, Fun Approach with All Skill Levels Transforms Golf Culture
Jimmy Damiano, Director of Golf Instruction at the Club at New Seabury has been named 2020 NEPGA Cape Cod Chapter Teacher of the Year.
A lifelong devotee to enhancing the golf experience, Damiano has inspired single digit handicappers as well as beginners for decades. Whether he’s giving a three-hour playing lesson with a championship golfer or he’s instructing a group of eager beginners enrolled in a GETGOLF READY CLINIC, he brings the same enthusiasm and commitment to helping his pupils.
“Jimmy’s passion for the game is so evident with everyone he works with,” said Jim Clay, Director of Golf at the Club at New Seabury. “He is a true ambassador of golf and has really reinvigorated our Club and our members by adding fun and thought in his students’ approach to the game. He’s so deserving of the NEPGA Cape Cod Chapter Teach of the Year award.”
Damiano spent countless hours honing his craft under the watchful eye of Jim McLean, a renowned golf instructor and longtime owner and advocate of Trackman, which utilizes state-of-the-art technology to deliver an understandable message to a wide range of players. In addition to technology, Damiano stresses club fitting as an essential ingredient to each students’ improvement, which he maintains extensive experience.
He became a full-time instructor, splitting his time between Long Island (Glen Oaks) in the summers and at the Jim McLean Golf School at Doral (in Miami) in the winters and has also been fortunate to work at other top private clubs, including Castle Pines Golf Club and Nantucket Golf Club, where he turned pro in 1998. After spending 13 summer seasons as a teaching professional at Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury he arrived on Cape Cod in May 2018 to assume the position of Director of Golf Instruction at The Club at New Seabury, a premier Private Golf Community, boasting two championship tracks – the Ocean Course and the Dunes Course. Damiano was tasked with helping to transform the golf culture and in one year has led an astounding turnaround with a 250 percent increase in Instruction Revenue which included Revenue (262%), Quantity of Lessons (250%) and Club Sales (266%).
“Last year was a blur. Once the weather improved around Memorial Day it was like a turn style and a switch that went on and never turned off,” recalled Damiano, who estimates he has given between 15,000-20,000 hours of golf lessons over his career. “After many years of instructing I can now walk away from a 10 hour day and feel good that I’ve helped every one of those 10, providing them with something to make them better.”
As impressive as the numbers are, Damiano’s impact at New Seabury can be seen with a renewed focus on membership engagement.
“We aimed to create a culture of learning and improvement through the use of instruction and technology and Jimmy’s approach to the game, his knowledge of the swing, and communication skills were crucial to our success,” Clay noted. “The membership confirmed our belief that they wanted this change by supporting the instruction and club fitting programs.”
At the Club at New Seabury, Damiano helped introduce several new golf programs in 2019 and all were met with enthusiasm.
From Get Golf Ready, a women’s clinic designed to introduce current non golfing spouses into the game, to Play 3 and Practice Tee Clinics which emphasized learning on the golf course where the instructor first evaluates the student on the course then uses that knowledge to instruct accordingly.
“I never played golf before joining the Get Golf Ready Ladies Clinic,” said Lisa Joubert of New Seabury. “Jimmy has taught me golf basics and golf etiquette but also gave me the confidence to go out on the course with my husband after just a handful of lessons. He is a great instructor, extremely knowledgeable about the sport and he is positive, motivating and encouraging. He made me feel comfortable with each lesson whether I mastered it or messed up. I’ve learned that you just need to relax and enjoy the game.”
Damiano has also worked alongside many peers who have gained the highest accolades when it comes to golf instruction. Jamie Fisher, Director of Instruction at Conway Farms Golf Club and Indian Ridge Country Club and an LPGA Class A Member has known Jimmy since 1995 and taught with him in California, Massachusetts, and at resort golf schools.
“I have watched Jimmy blossom into the top teacher he is today throughout that time,” said Fisher. “It goes without saying that to be a great teacher or coach one must have an understanding of the subject matter. Of course, Jimmy has that in spades and has a continual drive to continue learning about the game especially through the ever-evolving use of cutting edge technology. But, in my opinion Jimmy's real strength as a teacher/coach is his boundless enthusiasm and ability to inspire his students.”
Damiano’s skill set has also added tremendous value to the member experience and in doing so he’s made golf fun and interactive.
Neil Golub, Chairman of the Golub Corporation and a lifetime golfer for over 70 years has won club championships and is a 5-time Schenectady County Senior Champion, added: “Jimmy’s charisma and training techniques during our practices have been inspiring. Today my short game (which has been excellent since training with friend Dave Pelz) has been significantly upgraded with Jimmy’s new techniques. Hard to believe but true. I have been coached by some of the best Golf Training has to offer. For anyone like myself with talent who is willing to work, I would rate Jimmy as the most coherent coach I have ever experienced.”
Damiano remains eager to help perfect his pupils’ golf experiences as he is content in the shared experience.
“It’s so satisfying to see the smile on the face of one of my students who has just picked up the game,” said Damiano. “When they finally get the ball up in the air or hit that sweet spot you can see the gleam in their eye. Some of my students have had little to no experience but we’ve made it fun and comfortable. I always aim to be an effective and efficient instructor,” he added. “We can dilly dally on a driving range but I’m focusing on efficiency. I can break down what a student is doing wrong in minutes, and start working on the technical aspects of what they’re doing. Once they’re hitting the ball properly, we’ll go right on the course. The ultimate test is “can you hit these shots on the course?”
Since returning to Cape Cod in 2018 Damiano has settled into New Seabury nicely, spending time at the Club’s new Golf Practice & Teaching Facility: a 12-acre gem with expansive grass hitting areas, a two-acre short game area to practice every type of shot and a 20,000 square foot putting green along with a 100 yard sand bunker.
