Libby’s dad is a politician and is in the midst of campaigning for mayor of Boston. So because of that, she and her family are not famous by any means but semi-well known within the city.

Much to the distain of her parents, Libby has seven piercings — three in her earlobes, two in her left ear’s cartilage and one in her right ear’s, a nose ring on her left nostril, and a belly button piercing (which her parents are not aware of.) She also has a small stick and poke tattoo of a lighting bolt on the middle finger of her left hand which she got from a guy who had she met 15 minutes prior at a Boston College frat party. It’s been a year since and she’s been telling her parents that she drew it on with a sharpie the few times that one of them has noticed.

She has a crazy good memory to the point where it borders on being photographic but only about certain things. Most of the things that stick in her mind seem to be weirdly specific facts and details as opposed to useful information.

There’s a two inch long scar in the shape of a half circle on her elbow She got it last fall when her boyfriend at the time tried to teach her how to skateboard.

She has a bad habit of deciding that she wants to learn how to do something, trying it out for a little bit and then forgetting about it. Currently she’s been trying to teach herself to play the bass.

FLIGHT ATTIRE If there’s one thing that Libby can’t stand about travel, particularly while flying, it’s the discomfort. As an attempt to prevent this as much as possible, she opted to dress comfortably rather than to look nice. This is fairly out of character for her as she usually cares a lot about the manner in which she presents herself, especially when she’s going to be meeting new people. That being said, she didn’t even want to be going on the retreat so she felt no desire to put forth any effort into a good first impression. She ended up wearing a pair of navy lululemon Hotty Hot shorts, a light blue tank top, a chunky beige cardigan that was big enough to practically function as a blanket and some rings from her vast collection and pulled her hair into a messy ponytail tied up with a white scrunchie.

19th May, 1978 - The Yang’s welcome Camellia to their family. She’s the first girl and middle child of the Yang bunch. Fala, the last born came along 2 years later.

Childhood - Camellia grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts with her siblings Aiden and Tinsley. Their childhood was filled with love, laughter and enough memories to last a lifetime.

Teens - This is where she rightfully earned the label Wallflower. As a teenager Camellia spent alot of time reading, running the high school’s foreign language club, sewing and quietly filling sketchbooks with designs. Many considered her invisible, and sometimes the shy girl truly felt as if no one saw her. Thankfully, the solitude always worked for her creative process. Camellia the late bloomer had a small circle of friends that she shared everything with; dreams, secrets, problems, crushes and the like.

Seventeen - After high school graduation Camellia wasn’t quite prepared to head off to college or university like everyone else. For one, she was young, in love, and already engaged to her high school boyfriend, Henry Brandt. Leaving him behind was out of the question, and while her parents adored Henry, they came to an agreement where the couple will wait a few years before tying the knot. In the mean time Camellia worked odd jobs for the experience and the pocket change, not that she needed it since her family was well-off financially. Camellia is just one of those kids who wanted independence and the chance to learn the value of hard-work and the joy that came along with reaping its rewards.

Nineteen - Camellia finally weds her fiancé and they’re off to New York, where she attends Parsons School of Design and Henry embarks on his legal career. While at the institution she earned her BFA in Fashion Design. It’s a dream come true that brings Camellia one step closer to attaining her goals.

Twenty-three- Four years later, Camellia graduates from Parsons with an exceptional performance record. Firstly, her thesis gained immediate industry acclaim where she won the Design Student of the Year award, the Perry Ellis Gold Thimble Award, and the Chester Weinberg Gold Thimble Award. The recognition of Camellia’s talents and diligence didn’t end there. The work in her senior year portfolio caught the eye of a well-known fashion industry executive, who wasted no time in taking her under his wing to mentor. Camellia had the opportunity of a lifetime, during her internship she learned, grew and blossomed in this challenging industry.

Twenty-three to Twenty-nine - Camellia took the initial welcome in the fashion world seriously. Instead of being complacent with her status at that point, she saw room for improvement. Her aim was to gain international acclaim like many other Parsons alumni that went before her. Camellia began working on building her fashion empire. After launching her eponymous line, she sought out another avenue in order to make her designs a household name, thus, BRANDTED by Camellia Yang-Brandt was born. The first store opened up was in New York, and the ambitious young lady planned to have even more outlets in other fashion hubs of the world like Milan, Paris and London to name a few. Life is what happens when you’re busy making plans, and for Camellia and her husband, their daughter was truly a surprise indeed. At the time neither wanted to admit that their marriage was a mistake. Things were strained up until they found out that Camellia was pregnant. Mia’s birth was the glue that sort of patched them up for the time being. A 27 year old Camellia thought she would have had her happily ever after with Henry, but things between them had never been the way she imagined, or read of in the many novels that once took up her spare time. Eventually, Camellia convinced herself that sparks, passion, romance and all of that were just not in the cards for her. Henry is a great guy, a supportive father and like her family and friends always say; “Cami you’re so lucky to have found someone like Henry. You two are perfect together”. On the outside she smiles at the compliments but on the inside her heart and mind wander.

Thirties - A bored and stressed out Camellia starts finding herself exploring places where a married mother did not belong; namely LGBTQ+ clubs/bars. Under the guise of work, and often times using aliases, and wigs to disguise herself, she goes out on the town to let loose and have some fun. All was well and good until she runs into __________, she’s an old high school classmate. The woman stirs up feelings she had been actively trying to deny since she had her first crush on a girl at the age of13. Back in High School Camellia might as well have been invisible to them, but that didn’t stop her from having the biggest crush on the popular cheerleader. Her teenage self would be proud of what happened next. The quiet and whimsical Camellia had grown up into a woman of breathtaking beauty with the confidence to match. That summer in Paris/New York/Los Angeles/_______ she started an affair with ___________. Camellia fought it at first, but the combination of attraction, attention and excitement made her feel alive for the first time in a long while. The fling lasted for a couple of months well, until guilt grew to where she couldn’t ignore it. Then the fighting became frequent to the point where ultimatums were given. Unfortunately for ___________, Camellia chose her marriage, daughter and more importantly her public image over their secret relationship.

To compensate for her infidelity, a 38 year old Camellia refocused her attentions to where they should be; on her family and business. It has been four years since she broke things off with _______ and in that time she spent most of it back and forth between the United States and Italy getting her sixth BRANDTED store location up and running in Milan. While her business continues to thrive under her renewed creative energy, the same can’t be said for her marriage, but that’s a battle she continues to privately struggle with.
