what is the shadow realm?

the shadow realm is where any contestant decreed not hot enough by the voters is sent to. It is a kingdom of wraiths and shades, broken men and lost dreams. It currently has every hot man who is not Toshiro Mifune in it. (wait. where’s buster keaton.) The court of the realm is peopled by sad unfortunate not-hot losers. While Fredric March was originally crowned its Sad Loser King, his throne has seen been usurped by Evil Loser Queen Jessica Walter, who has thrown him into the dungeons and plots a reign of terror. Prince Consort Anthony Perkins is here too.

are there any fictional vampires that you headcanon as asexual?

Yes, actually! Quite a few :D

Raziel from Legacy of Kain might be the one I have the strongest headcanon for. His complete nonchalance over losing his reproductive organs as a wraith is an obvious sign, and despite how devastated he is over his clans' massacre, he doesn't mention anyone in particular, leading me to believe he had more of a father/children dynamic within his clan instead of any significant lovers. I view him similar to the way people theorize Jessica Rabbit to be ace: he's very aware of the effect his good looks have on people and often uses them to his advantage by putting on a flirtatious and charming demeanor in Kain's court, but despises the act itself. Considering vampires in Nosgoth don't reproduce biologically, he might view sex as something primitive and beneath his status, just a thing those "pathetic humans" must resort to in order to maintain their "feeble bloodline". (TL;DR - i hc Raziel as aroace and sex repulsed)

I imagine Dumah as somewhere on the ace spectrum too. Not because "haha the himbo don't know about sex lol", but because it's just not something that crosses his mind frequently. I picture him as the most family-oriented of the lieutenants, so it often doesn't even occur to him that "I love you" could be taken in a romantic context. The very bro-est of bros, to put it simply.

(Technically every Kainite vampire in LoK is asexual because they reproduce via necromancy on freshly-dead corpses instead of The Usual Way, but I digress XD)

(...except for Rahab. that fish has "gay" written all over him, but that's definitely a post for another time. again, i digress-)

Another ace vampire headcanon I've been toying with is Saga Latour from a show called Visual Prison (it's a cringey mess, please don't watch it XD). He's your typical loud and brutal goth rocker dude who intends to harness the power of the "scarlet moon" to take over and destroy the world. But he's also the leader of a band of similarly gothy vampire singers, and oh my gosh their family dynamic is so weirdly wholesome I love it. The thing that makes me think he's ace though is that one of the members of his band (a guy called Mist) has a huge and blatantly obvious crush on him. It's clear Saga doesn't reciprocate these feelings in any way, but he lets Mist stay in the band anyway so Mist can at least hang out with him. Again, more of a dad/family person than romantic/sexual.

Animals!! If he had pets, what would he have? Personally I see Will as a reptile guy and so far his list of pets in my au is as follows

They all have names from the books for no reason other than it's funny. No lore reason. Eyelash vipers are unethical to keep as pets but Will doesn't care because he "takes good care of it." And yes there is an in universe justification for her having that name. The reaosn is he named her Wraith and she's bitten him deep enough to get stitches a few times

OHHHH that is very awesome i love it. i could definitely see william as being a reptile guy however i know next to nothing about reptiles. usually i don't give him any pets but im a very strong believer that he would have either a cat or a bunny. bunny for the obvious rabbit obsession, and cat because i just feel like he'd be more of a cat guy than a dog guy since cats generally dont need as much attention and are kind of chill (and also considering the fact that uhhh. that he hit a dog with his car. LOL)

Do you know why you were named that ? “Not really. Witt is my surname, given to me by my mum from uh... Y’know, 1790′s ‘n’ all that. Sinclair tho’, that’s the one she could choose. She heard about it, 'n’ thought it fit.”

What’s your eye color ? “It’s a sorta orangey color. Brown but lighter. Jessica always said it looked like maple syrup or tree sap.”

How about hair color ? “It’s like, a really dark brown. Or it was before I lost it all, heh.” 

Have you any family members ? “Just had my mum. No dad, he was sold before I was born. Key was my ‘dad’ when I managed to run away.”

Oh, how about pets ? “I’ve got a dog! He’s a sweet little thing. Pitbull, might be a mutt. He doesn’t have front legs, but it doesn’t mean much when you’re a ghost. His name is Fortune.”

Now tell me something you don’t like. “Ah. Uh, a lot of things, heheh. I hate the sound of gunshots ‘n’ fireworks. Scares the shit out of me. Nothin’ I can’t handle, but when you’re trying to sleep ‘n’ you get nightmares easy... It’s hell.”

Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do ? “Yeah! I’m technically the handy man of the Mansion, just because I know how all the electric 'n’ modern stuff works better than any of the other ghosts here. I like doing it tho’, modern tech is amazing. I tinker with stuff on my free time anyway, so I might as well fix the lights ‘n’ AC while I’m at it. I travel a bit as well, being the spirit living in the Staircase. Socialize with the other spirits, all that jazz.”

Name your worst weaknesses ? “Uh, I don’t know, maybe my esteem issues. People always tell me how strong I am or talented or whatever, but it never really gets to me y’know? I don’t always think I’m all that. I don’t always think I’m anything worth at all. Eh, but I’m fine right now, so don’t worry about that.”

Do you look up to anyone at all ? “I dunno. Maybe my mum. She had to handle a lot of bullshit to get me to where I was. I’m always thankful for her, for protecting me as much or as long as she could. What are you most afraid of ? “Oh god. This one’s touchy, man. I’m afraid of a lot of shit. Maybe being trapped in the Staircase again. That shit was hell. It was... numbing. There was literally nothing I could do. I could move the stairs around but... All the doors were locked sort of vibe. I couldn’t leave, I couldn’t talk to anyone, I was... completely alone. I was in an echo chamber with my own depression riddled brain. Anyway, when Leota let me out, I cried. Like legit, started sobbing right on her seance table. So yeah. That’s what I’m afraid of. What’s one food that tempts you ? “Everyday I see those mortals eating those fuckin’.... Butterfingers, I think they are. I want to try one so fucking bad. The Mansion chefs try their best to make it themselves, but I need the authentic one.”

This is not my story. Those words echoed in my mind as I watched my husband — the only man that I have every loved — and his true love met and fawn over the statuette of the vener of love, the All Father. This was my penitence for my betrayal, for my sin. My jailers’ stood witness to my shame, and once my husband and his mistress’s interaction was over, it repeated. Nothing differed.

The last thing I remembered was the glint of the knife followed by the piercing wail of my son, the guttural growl of my murderer, and the warm wetness rushing from my artery before the ruddy liquid tumbled over my soft silken bodice.

As I watched the scene play out between the two and observed the intimate touch between them, bitter agony explodes within me, igniting every corner of my incorporeal body. He once gazed at me with such passion, such kindness. Now, I only symbolized his grief and shame — my memory, a blacken, gangrenous blotch on his pure soul.

My death resulted in his lifelong hatred for the Wraith, fostering a primordial fear within him, but the Crown Prince and his lover’s story was not my story. I was only a thread in the Olessan Empire’s rich tapestry and doomed to be unwoven from history in time. Adulterer. Mother. Wife. Victim. However, none save a few would remember the name of Ambrosia Calista Rina Arturis da Olessa, Princess of the Olessan Empire.

The water, the water, the ferry's whistle like a ghastly scream, the town like Crystal Lake and every other small forest town, lonely gusts of wind and gentle spirit of a guitar, narration so lost, introspective...such a beautiful movie, such a beautiful film.

A beautiful redhead with eyes and lips of ice and a sly foxmouth, Jessica's brown big eyes like the earth and the intelligent badger who knows it, her face like the grave, she's beautiful, like a rabbit, like the moon. Rare music and only ever that guitar, real or imagined it accompanies them. Old Gothic farmhouse, tall tiled walls in the kitchen, "stay forever my love, my love" old loving folk songs, new loving hippie songs

New York is "a mad city". Out here the blue water sways on and on for miles, blue lake, blue fog, blue clouds, blue land. Blue eyes, chips of ice, mourning herself. Thick green forestry, the brown reflection of water, and occasional red blaze as one and another tree succumbs to the fiery phoenix death that allows for their vernal rebirth. Blue turquoise teal water ripples, ripples, rips the sanity from her bones as the blonde vampire with pretty pouty lips and a child's white nightdress (a wedding dress) claws towards Jess through the deep waters of her grave like every ancient wraith, a whisp'ring banshee.

Whistling wind through the brown attic, a deer's head mounted, Jessica's eyes but lifeless, and the vampire ghost's dress and dagger closed but not locked in a warm brown wooden trunk. Piano, and some unburied percussion joins for a moment in the light from green window. Eggshells hippies, and only two, three years later.

"Flowers of evil. How can anything this pretty be evil? It's just old, that's all."

A sudden pounding synth and the whistling wind as the now redheaded, now blonde vampire rises from the depths again - Jess at her grave sees her too, the blonde drowned ghost in white beckoning her, and chases her through the woods and finds in the harried girl's place only water, water. A great blue spirit-soaked waterfall and the body of Abigail Bishop's victim, victim of her curse, then just earth. Beautiful running legs of this pouty fawn-eyed silent mute woman, cloth ribbon around her neck, she at least is real. Tangible. The redheaded velvet fox, sharp-jawed, sharp-nosed, sharp-eyed, always in red and often in green camo, the fox appears and the fawn runs.

The fear and the paranoia, the gentle instability of a beautiful happy mole-like woman, nosing blindly through the warm earth, vulnerable to all attack. The moment she's thought unreliable she cannot trust her own husband and another woman to be faithful, to be decent. She's had a nervous breakdown, but the mad rushing apathy of the city gives way only to the slow malicious hatred in these old rural places, foxes stalking fawns in forests and digging moles out of their cozy burrows. The cruelty of foxes and the mean piggish stupidity of men. I know a girl with eyes like this fox, but I can't recall her right now. Clear, perfect eyes, like the steel shutters on old spotlights, thin and sharp and cold but so hot with knowing. The ghost redheaded after all, like drowned silk in cold marble flesh and clothing, the whispered plea, "Stay. Stay." "I want you. What do you have - I need you. What do you have to live for?"

The justified fear and paranoia, and the instability, and the desperate search for comfort, and the dangers of foxes. Being Mary Lou is not as venerable a career when your place and time is the 1880s. The whole town is in sort of a Mangler cult. Fresh open wounds and old scars from her lips, from her knife. Wind, piano, water. A vampire, white mockery of purity, with her fangs in every man, with no women left who might challenge her and now even the mute blonde slaughtered. A true vampire. I want to see La Morte Vivante again, and Vampyr.

helena phan was born into a military family, raised with care as well as discipline and high expectations. she had exceptional marks throughout school and was often enrolled in programs outside of school such as gymnastics, martials arts, and sports in order to bolster her skills and "round" herself as a person, according to her family. eventually, helena expected she'd enlist herself, getting a head-start by participating in school programs to give her whatever advanced training she could get. once of age, she enlisted to become a field medic, testing with exceptional scores and working hard through her training and school. once graduated, helena was placed into immediate deployment, put into the field through an emergency rescue recon that led to her captivity. for two years, she and her recon team were prisoners of war; interrogated and tortured, helena was expected to keep herself and her team alive until their opposition got the intel they wanted. never bending, helena and two others were the only survivors when they were eventually rescued by another taskforce team. when briefed, helena recounted every minute detail of the two years she was held captive; every word, every corner, every single thing she'd seen was relayed to intelligence. when she had finished her recuperation, helena was asked to rank into special forces, of which she voluntarily accepted and continued her training. now, helena operates within her own recon unit, available for commission in and out of other taskforces on a need basis, as well as the rest of her unit.
