2. Jesse Faden from Control. Before HFW dropped I claimed her as my favorite video game protagonist because as much as I feel HZD as the better game and the better narrative, there's just something about her that draws me to her. She's great I love her so much and her alien brain bestie

3. Actually I lied one more Horizon character is on the list and thats Alva. Unironically Alva feels like she was written and designed EXCLUSIVELY for me. Like everything about her is my type its unreal. AND SHE'S EVEN CANONICALLY GAY? I'm in love

4. Frye Splatoon. Okay I actually don't consider her or any of the other Splatoon characters wife material (and also I'm aware she has a canon last name lmao), but she's just a female character I very much love and refer to as my "squid wife". Fighting in the yuri trenches (Fryes team) for every Splatfest so I can go home to my loving wife (Frye)

5. Emily Stardewvalley. THE original video game wife of mine. I genuinely feel sad at the thought of playing SDV and marrying someone OTHER than her. She's everything to me she's my wonderful wife who's a liiiittle bit stupid (babygirl my farm has used exclusively sprinklers since you've moved in you don't need to water my crops <3) but I love her so so much regardless. I believe I've married her like 5 seperate times in different save files because I love her so much. Emily SDV my darling wife <3

You’ve reblogged things from the video game Control before. Can you share what you enjoy about Control and what the game is about? I’m having a hard time finding descriptions that don’t seem spoiler-heavy, and I’m considering checking out the game 😊

So this is going to seem like a weird elevator pitch, but it’s legit: think HZD in a trippy-ass office building.

To elaborate! You play as Jesse, a woman who’s been on a personal mission to find a clandestine US government organization: the Federal Bureau of Control. The FBC is responsible for containment and study of paranatural phenomena. She finds the FBC’s hidden headquarters in the midst of a crisis—an invasion by a hostile paranatural force. She ends up being named the Director (you’ll see how) and is tasked with fighting back this invasion, all the while solving her own personal mystery and seeing how it’s intertwined with the Bureau in general.

It’s very much like HZD in that exploration is rewarding, the datapoints add SO MUCH to the richness of the lore, and mystery is unraveled slowly and elegantly throughout the course of the game.

I highly recommend it!!

The Banuk nesting box is absolutely delightful.

Two hunters were sparring, and when one left a youngster stepped up. Watching the older hunter interact with her after each bout was quite amusing and sweet.
