I literally saw a tweet today literally comparing Taika to *Hitler*, I don't blame the guy for staying off social media. What's the point when you know everything you say is gonna be read in the worst possible light, blown out of proportion, and you'll be attacked for it endlessly?
i also saw that tweet this morning. ironically, the person who tweeted it has a picture of chris pine as their header, but i guess they don’t feel the need to hold him to the same standard despite also signing the letter.
it’s only gotten worse recently, but the things i’ve seen people say in the last few years have been so fucking atrocious and rooted in such racism and antisemitism that i don’t even feel comfortable repeating any of it. i remember when he commented on jeremy renner’s instagram after his accident, and there must have been hundreds of replies to taika wishing death on him for “ruining thor.”
i’ve seen a lot of posts lately saying how taika seems “reserved” online, and i have to assume those are people who have only gotten familiar with his work in the last year or so, because he used to be way more active on social media. he loved interacting with his fans. but it literally is not safe for him anymore, and i’m sure it’s horrible for his mental health.
i don’t care how much you dislike a person or what mistakes they’ve made, no one deserves to be attacked that viciously and that relentlessly.
And the final scene, I loved this series so much, I never wanted it to end. Hailee is a great actress. It made me laugh and cry at the same time, Florence Pugh, who came in the last episodes, was great in and Jeremy is amazing too. Florence is a great actress i laugh at her a lot and i think she and kate are a great duo. I didn't want their scenes to end. Maybe they will shoot a new season in the future and I hope it happens. Everything was perfect.
