Chris Pine is so singular in his abilities. He’s got the real chops that you don’t always see in leading Hollywood men. He’s just a real thespian. It’s crazy how good he is as an actor, but he’s also got charisma for days. I think that he does a great job of playing this eternal optimist that everyone is just gonna love. I think it’s got real Harrison Ford vibes in it. It’s just something about him, like, man, this guy is winning. And even if he’s failing, which he does most of the movie, he’s still winning. — Jeremy Latcham

A live-action film adaptation of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga is in the works at Lionsgate.
Destin Daniel Cretton, who co-wrote and directed the Marvel Studios movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, has been tapped to pen and helm a live-action adaptation of the title for Lionsgate.
Cretton will also produced alongside Jeyun Munford through his company, Hisako. The duo join Avi Arad, Ari Arad and Emmy Yu of Arad Productions, who are behind the studio’s upcoming video game adaptation Borderlands, and Jeremy Latcham (Dungeons & Dragons).
Cretton has Kishimoto’s blessing, something bestowed upon him after a visit to Tokyo.
“When I heard of Destin’s attachment, it happened to be right after watching a blockbuster action film of his, and I thought he would be the perfect director for Naruto,” said Kishimoto in a statement. “After enjoying his other films and understanding that his forte is in creating solid dramas about people, I became convinced that there is no other director for Naturo. In actually meeting Destin, I also found him to be an open-minded director who was willing to embrace my input, and felt strongly that we would be able to cooperate together in the production process.”

Equally annoying is Marvel’s habit of randomly down-powering their characters in order to make the plot work. Prime example: Loki being tossed around like a rag doll in his show, whereas in Avengers he was capable of kicking Captain America’s shapely ass.
Also, fun fact: that bit about Iron Man defeating Obadiah by freezing his suit was a last-minute decision by the creative team:
With the movie's post-production deadline approaching, Industrial Light & Magic needed Iron Man's creatives to figure out the missing piece to the Iron Man/Iron Monger showdown so it could complete the necessary visual effects shots in time. As such, it fell to Favreau, associate producer Jeremy Latcham, and editor Dan Lebental to determine what the climax required to make sense from a narrative perspective.
Here's how the book describes what happened: "Latcham made a DVD rough cut of their current edit. He slung it into his backpack and raced to the Santa Barbara Film Festival, where two of Iron Man's writers, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, were in attendance as members of the festival jury. Arriving in a blur at Fergus and Ostby's room, Latcham loaded the DVD and played the cut on their hotel TV screen. It took the writers one viewing before they both said: 'The Icing Problem.' Latcham gave them a confused look, so they quickly laid it out: Tony Stark's high-altitude icing problem with the Mark 2 suit is explained during the test flight. But then, it never amounts to anything. So, at the very end, when Stark and Obadiah are up in the sky, Stark knows his foe is going to have the same icing problem, which is why he lures Obadiah up so high. 'And that is why you're writers!' exclaimed Latcham before he raced back to Favreau and Lebental. In what Latcham describes as a 'total madhouse,' those hugely important CGI shots didn't get finished until just three weeks before the movie was released."
(source)
Wow, it’s almost like if you hire decent writers and let them do their job, your movie might actually make sense! (Also note the ridiculous deadline the VFX people had to work under. Marvel has a long history of mistreating their effects team. Do better, Marvel.)
You know what i miss about mcu?
When the biggest problem was Tony's Iron man suit freezing in high altitudes. And thats partialy how he beat Obedaya then.
Today its magic writers dont even understand, nobody knows its real rules, every writer can add any shit they like, and technology that has no limitations.
Before Tony couldnt even fly too high above the Earth.
Now heroes can go to another planet and dimension.

My MCM aka Movie Crush Monday Is a very great crime drama Bad Times at the El Royals. Watching all seven people comes together and they background. I love great unpredictable thriller film with a good ending.
_______________________________________________.
The El Royale is run-down hotel that sits on the border between California and Nevada. It soon becomes a seedy battleground when seven strangers -- a cleric, a soul singer, a traveling salesman, two sisters, the manager and the mysterious Billy Lee -- converge on a fateful night for one last shot at redemption before everything goes wrong.

FAVORITE CHARACTER MEME: Steve Rogers + Captain America: The First Avenger [1/5 Movies]
“While editors were frantically cutting Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk at L.A.’s Tribeca West offices, [Kevin] Feige was also thinking about Captain America. As a huge fan of The Rocketeer, he was trying to secure Academy Award winner Joe Johnston to direct Cap’s first adventure. Standing in the parking lot at the corner of Bundy and Olympic, Feige had a revelation about how to solve a problem with The First Avenger’s development.
Initially, early creative discussions had determined the first half of the movie should see Cap battling enemies during World War II. Then he goes on ice. The second half would see Cap getting thawed in the present day. Feige was concerned that this structure didn’t allow the audience to get to know the most important thing about Captain America: Steve Rogers.
With The Rocketeer in Feige’s mind, he started to consider that maybe the movie should just be a full-on World War II movie, and that Rogers shouldn’t go on ice until the very end. In the early drafts, there was no focus on a skinny, everyday Steve Rogers; the story was fully committed to a super soldier getting frozen in the forties, and then fighting evil in the present day. Feige, in collaboration with [Jeremy] Latcham, realized instead that the entire film needed to put its spotlight on a thin kid with a lot of heart. And then give him powers.” - Tara Bennett and Paul Terry, The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Bad Times at the El Royale will hit theaters in October, but we have the trailer and stills for you to take a look at now!

I appreciate shirtless Chris Hemsworth just as much as the next person, but what in the world is happening in this trailer!? The hotel is spying on its guests, at least two of the guests have killed or are trying to kill someone, and Jeff Bridges fooled no one into believing he was actually a priest.
I want to watch this, but I know I’m going to be trying to solve the puzzle as soon as it starts. The cast is stacked, too!
The official synopsis of Bad Times at the El Royale is:
Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption… before everything goes to hell. Jeff Bridges, Chris Hemsworth, Jon Hamm, Dakota Johnson and Cynthia Erivo lead an all-star cast in Bad Times at the El Royale {Via Twentieth Century Fox}.
That “last shot at redemption” doesn’t sound too promising for these characters survival. Annnnd there I go trying to figure it out before it started.
Watch the trailer here and check out the stills below! Will you be seeing this one in theaters? I’ll be there!

“ What does God mean to you? What does God mean to all of you? Is He some being in the sky? Do you pray to Him at night? Do you ask Him to watch over you? Is He here with us now? Or maybe there is no God, huh? Maybe it’s all lies. Listen, I ain’t saying I got it all figured out, I’m not, but I do see the game. They define right and wrong, and then they make you choose. And that’s how it all starts, with a simple choice. Which side are you on? Up, down? Good, evil? Right, wrong? God or no God? It’s simple, just pick. [...] So, what have we learned, huh? Maybe we won’t play their games no more. Maybe we won’t listen to their lies. Maybe the only truth in this world is right here. And here. And here, and here, and here, and here. Just us. And maybe for tonight we get to be our own Gods. “
