Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, 5601 N Figueroa St, Suite #110, Los Angeles (Highland Park), CA 90042
Tumblr media
Fro-yo girl here. Jeni’s Ice Cream’s scoop shop soft opened in Highland Park, Los Angeles on November 16 and the grand opening occurred on November 30.
They had about two dozen flavors, including several dairy-free options and one froyo. The holiday flavors have arrived, including White Chocolate Peppermint, Rum Ball, Merry Berry, and Boozy Eggnog.  A standard size (up to 2 flavors) is $6.95 and comes with a buttercrisp waffle wedge. The signature (up to 3 flavors) is $7.95. Choose from a bowl or cone. You can also opt for the affogato. Ask for samples.
The pints are the best deal, $12, but then you can get those at supermarkets like Whole Foods, Bristol Farms, and Gelson's.
The ice cream is made with the best ingredients, including grass fed milk from Ohio. The strawberries are grown for them in Ohio.
Yes, it is an ice cream shop but Jeni’s has the best buttermilk frozen yogurt! You should get the rainbow buttermilk froyo and the Merry Berry. Merry Berry has raspberry coulis, crushed amaretti cookies, tart buttermilk, and yogurt. Merry Berry has yogurt! And it’s tart and berry forward.
Rainbow Buttermilk Frozen Yogurt features raspberry, key lime, and passion fruit froyo. It does taste like rainbow sherbet but better - extra tangy, thick, creamy, and rich. It’s for people who really love the taste of tangy yogurt and tangy fruit.
White Chocolate Ice Cream: Decadent, rich, fresh and minty – seemed pretty sweet though
Buttercrisp waffle wedge: Thick, crunchy, and buttery
Buttercrisp waffle cones and bowls are made on site and they’re the reason the store smells so yummy. The décor is charming, bright, and cheerful. They have two small tables and counter seating. There’s also come cute Jeni’s merch for sale: cookbooks, t-shirts, sprinkles, bandanas, tasting spoons, sauces, etc.
Get some froyo and enjoy! P.S. There’s a rewards app.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
5 out of 5 stars

When American Girl first announced their partnership with Jeni’s Ice Cream to make some cute playsets and products, I had never heard of Jeni’s. I assumed that it was a brand that was local to the Wisconsin area, where AG’s headquarters are located.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was so enchanted by these cute things that I wanted to reproduce some of the products for my own dolls, without spending very much. So I dug in a little deeper on reading about Jeni’s. It turns out I was mostly wrong about them. Jeni’s Ice Cream does have shops in large cities across the United States (none in my state), but you can also buy it in pints at Whole Foods Market! I don’t recall AG ever actually mentioning that. Maybe assume that all their customers are upper-class and are familiar already with where to obtain premium and luxury brands?
If you haven’t checked out their full line of product collaborations, go look now. There’s an ice cream truck, an outfit, a waffle cone maker, a cafe table, and some itty bitty bowls of ice cream that are scented. All of it is super cute, but in typical AG fashion, quite expensive.
Tumblr media
I swung by Whole Foods the last time I went into the city, and Grace (my little foodie friend) and I gave it a try. There are around a dozen varieties and a few are even dairy free. It was hard to choose which ones to get. Since it’s begun to feel like summer, I picked out Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam, and Wildberry Lavender. Both remind me of Grace’s collection: sweet, summery, and pastel-colored.
Tumblr media
Grace and I agree.... the peach was excellent, but the lavender was outstanding. It does indeed taste as expensive as it is, at around $8 a pint, so it’s not something we’ll have more than once or twice a year.
Grace wasn’t too happy about being told that this won’t be a weekly treat. So she got the idea to make and serve ice cream in her and her family’s pastry shop, La Grande Patisserie!
I was happy to help her out.
For the first step, we tracked down some doll-sized ice cream containers.
Tumblr media
I didn’t have to go to Whole Foods Market to find these. They were in my local grocery store. Perfectly small, and proportional to 18 inch dolls! From the left they are Häagen-Dazs chocolate, Häagen-Dazs coffee, and Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough. We got 4 total containers of cookie dough, so that I could try out a half dozen different methods of making the doll ice cream.
After Grace and I emptied the containers over the course of about a week, I used air-dry clay to reproduce the ice cream in a non-perishable form.
Tumblr media
Chocolate and coffee are in the middle, while the outer four corners are cookie dough flavor.
Most of the time I shape my objects before I paint them, but in this case I mixed acrylic paint with the clay, using varying amounts of paint. Then while it was still soft, I dragged a small serrated knife across the clay to give it the right texture.
Now to create the scoops.
Tumblr media
I found these clear plastic bowls at Dollar Tree. Also perfectly doll-sized.
Tumblr media
And here are the scoops! I formed small clay spheres and then roughed up the surface with the same knife. Then I used a toothpick to dot on the chocolate chips.
Tumblr media
Grace gave it two spoons up.
Tumblr media
These were a practice run. Next, we’re going to figure out how to make Jeni’s ice cream, specifically, and the containers, so we have more colors and flavors to work with. Grace wants to send some of these first drafts to my mom’s dolls, and maybe we’ll even sell the ones that turned out the best.
We also intend to come up with an easy, efficient way to make plastic spoons, and then we’ll come back to this post for part 2!

you'd come with me?

Tumblr media
“How much longer?”
“Just a few…” Sophie answered Rafe absentmindedly, biting her bottom lip in concentration as she typed.
They’d assumed their usual positions while studying in her room - she was sprawled out on her bed, while he sat at her desk, concentrating on whatever homework he had for the day. She’d banned him from the bed during study time, much to his dismay, claiming he was far too distracting. (He still got away with distracting her half the time anyways, slinking over and tucking his large frame into her side like a dog that had overgrown its owner’s lap years ago.)
“Rafe?” She broke the silence after a while, punctuating her sentence with a firm shut of her laptop.
“Yeah, baby?”
“I just applied for a grad program.” She told him nervously, unsure of what his reaction might be.
He shrugged, not turning his attention to her. “Okay? I thought you applied to Ohio State’s, you’re basically in already.”
“Well, yeah. But, um - can you look at me, please?” Sophie bit at her bottom lip, anxious.
He glanced up and finally noticed her nervous energy, then came over to sit next to her on the bed. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong, it’s just big news. Maybe. I don’t even know if I have news yet, really -”
“Spit it out, Soph.” He nudged his knee against hers, concerned.
She nodded, taking a breath. “Okay. I applied to three other places, too. Two are in New York, one’s in Texas. And I know, I should have told you, but I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to do it in the first place, I kind of applied on a whim - well, I’ve been perfecting the application essay for weeks, but -”
“Soph, hey, it’s okay.” He cut off her rambling and a broad grin spread across his face, completely surprising her. “New York and Texas, for real?”
She raised her eyebrows and fidgeted with her ring, glancing at him worriedly. “That doesn’t worry you at all? That we’d be apart?”
She’d thought about how to tell him, when to tell him, for weeks now. She’d been hiding that she was interested in applying to other schools since June and though she felt incredibly guilty, she kept thinking back to long distance and how sad he seemed sometimes. She couldn’t break him with the news again so soon, not when she saw the way he lit up when they were together again and how content he was. Not when she saw how hard it was for her to support him from thousands of miles away, knowing physical touch was a big thing he relied on for comfort in their relationship.
He interrupted her train of thought as he took her hand, lacing their fingers together. “Sophie, baby, do you know how many jobs are in New York and Texas?”
“Wait, you’d come with me?” She stuck her bottom lip out a little, overwhelmed and almost near tears at his response.
“I was planning on following you no matter what.” Rafe smiled encouragingly, reaching out and stroking his thumb over her cheek. “If you’ll have me.”
“Oh.” She said softly, growing shy. “You’re sure? You could go wherever you wanted, I don’t want to hold you back -”
“Hey, hey, none of that. Where’d you apply, when do you hear back?”
“You’re sure this isn’t an issue.” She asked warily, not wanting to undermine his feelings.
“I’m positive.” He gave her a proud grin. “What schools?”
“Okay, um. Columbia -”
He let out a long low whistle, nodding. “Impressive.”
She blushed, finally grinning back. “Hush. Columbia, Syracuse and UT Austin. Isobel already got into Syracuse. Columbia’s my top choice, but that’ll probably never happen.”
“Of course it’ll happen, get out of your head.” He leaned down and kissed her, smiling against her lips. “Look at you, big shot, applying for an Ivy.”
She relaxed, her hands trailing along the hem of his shirt, and ducked her head to hide her grin. “Stop. It’s not that big of a deal.”
“It is that big of a deal. When do you find out?” He shifted to lay down by her, then tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
“Um…not for a couple months, I think. You’ll really follow me?”
“Course I will, if you’ll have me.” He nodded earnestly.
“Yeah. I’d like that.” She beamed, nudging her nose against his. “You’re my favorite.”
“Love you too.” He responded. “Wait, did you just apply? Like right now?”
She nodded, biting the inside of her cheek. “Just finished my Columbia essay, I did the rest last week. Now I wait.”
He smoothed his thumb over her cheek, making her relax again. “You’re so damn smart. Should we go celebrate?” Rafe gave her a cheeky grin. “Double scoop with sprinkles?”
She rolled her eyes. “Doesn’t have the same effect now that you get it for free.” As a part of his internship program, he’d received a punch card for 25 free visits to Jeni’s, their favorite ice cream shop - they’d hardly made a dent in it since returning to school.
“No, I pay extra for the sprinkles and your waffle cone.” His grin gave way to a slow smirk and he kissed her neck, sucking gently for a moment. “We could celebrate other ways…”
“Wait, no, I actually do want the ice cream.” She pulled away before he could leave a mark, giving him a warning glance. “I gotta make up for what I missed over summer.”
He laughed, getting up and offering his hand. “Alright. C’mon, genius. Jeni’s is waiting for you.”
She took his hand, but didn’t stand. “Wait, Rafe. You’re sure, this is okay with you? I know you have your job lined up and all…”
Rafe paused, shrugging. “Yeah, well. Uh, Brooklyn got the job offer too, she’s already accepted it. So I wasn’t too psyched about it anyways.”
“Oh.” She nodded, thoughtful. “Have you been to New York? Or Austin?”
“I have. You haven’t? You want to go visit when you get in, so you can make your final decision?” He tugged on her hand, pulling her up into a hug and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
“Not sure I could afford that.” She mumbled, resting her head on his chest.
“Man, too bad you don’t have a boyfriend with money to pay for those trips.” He hooked a finger under her chin, tilted it up so he could look her in the eyes and see her scowl. “If you want to visit, we’ll go. Easy weekend trip.”
“Right.” Sophie nodded, unsure. “Maybe. I’m not even sure I’ll get in, I’ll probably be stuck here in Columbus for another year anyways.”
“Hey. Stop talking like that. You’ll help me look for jobs in New York and Texas, right?”
“Of course I will.” She confirmed. “You know, we could probably find something related to film in New York…”
He scoffed and looped his arm around her shoulders, steering her out of her room and down the stairs. “I think my dad might write me out of his will if I did anything adjacent to the film industry. Waste of my time, he says.”
She frowned, letting him usher her out to the car. “Maybe you should go talk with the career counselors, see if there’s options to combine both. You’re good at marketing too, maybe there’s something there?”
“Not sure. Haven’t really thought about any of that.” He dismissed her quickly, feeling uneasy like he did any time he thought about his future outside of school.
Sometimes he realized he was really good at absorbing other people’s interests, like he was able to always match his personality into a perfect mold to other people’s expectations. With Colin and James, and now Sophie, he was able to let his guard down a little and figure out who he was, who he wanted to be beyond his father’s expectations. He felt like he was thinking about this ten years too late - eleven year old Rafe had always written his ‘dream job’ in school as working for his dad. Now he was about to graduate, set to get a job, and wasn’t even sure if he could list his hobbies outside of hanging out with Sophie and his friends, and watching movies.
“Look, I just...I don’t want you to lose sight of what you’re actually interested in just because you need a job. You don’t have to hate your job.” She told him, carefully.
“I know.” He nodded, shutting down the conversation. “Today’s not about me, though, we gotta celebrate you, hotshot over here.” He grinned at her, leaning over to kiss her quick across the seat. “I think they have the chocolate cake back in stock, I’ve missed it.”
She picked up on his hesitation, but didn’t push it. “You’re such a creature of habit.”
“No, you’re just a psychopath picking a different flavor every time.” He shook his head as he reached his hand to rest behind her seat, turning around to back up. “Good thing I love you anyways, smart girl.”
“Love you too, sweet boy.” She replied with a smile.

Top five JJK characters you’d like to take out for ice cream!
Top 5 jjk characters I would take out for ice cream (and where I would take them):
1. Itadori - I want to spent all afternoon giving him little brother hair ruffles and head pats. Itadori is a Cold Stone type of guy and I would buy him that huge size they sell even though it’ll make him sick because how can I say no to someone with a face like that? 🥺
2. Megumi - Megumi doesn’t seem like a big dessert person so I would treat him to fro yo. But I would make him get all the unhealthiest toppings — cheesecake bits, dinosaur sprinkles, Oreo crumbles, etc. Megumi would get embarrasssd when I insist on paying and would finally give in with a stiff, “Thank you.” But it’s easy to see how red his face is getting at being treated.
3. Miwa - Miwa deserves the best ice cream crepe in Japan. She deserves the most expensive, most extravagent, most delicious one on the menu and I want to be the one to treat her to it
4. Yuuta - This isn’t really ice cream, but I would take baby boy Yuuta out for a freakshake. He would totally try and order just a small scoop of ice cream, insisting that he didn’t want or need anything else and already so bashful because he’s being treated. But I would order him a wild freakshake — one that has a waffle piece on top of a brownie and is covered in whipped cream and topped with an upside down waffle cone. There would be nothing better than the look of shock on his face when it’s set down in front of him on the counter as he tries to figure out where to even begin.
5. Nobara - Kugisaki is a hip girl so Jeni’s is the perfect ice cream place to take her to. First, because their stores are only in cities, it’s a perfect place to go after seeing the sites or doing some shopping. And then I can just imagine how much best girl’s face would light up when she sees how many flavors of artisanal ice cream they sell.

Drip (Drabble #15)
Pairing:  Logan Delos x Reader
Word Count: 2302
Rating: M (language, zest)
Author’s Note:  This is the same Logan/Reader from HCtS, RWTM and HTM ... they’re still going strong. This actually started as a conversation last weekend between myself, @its-my-little-dumpster-fire and @the-blind-assassin-12 while I was in an ice cream shop called Jeni’s, and was reading the informational poster on the wall. The description of the ice cream was “it starts out hard and then relaxes a little with each sweep of the tongue” ... to which Ms. Dumpster Fire responded with “Delos is making ice cream now?” ... and it went on from there.
Tumblr media
“Lo, it is hot as fuck out here.” You were sprawled out on a deck chair on your patio, wearing a bathing suit and nothing else, hair twisted into a knot on the top of your head. Logan was in the pool, floating around on a chair with most of his body beneath the surface of the water. That water’s too hot. It’s gotta be at least 95 in there. “Loooogan,” you whined, sitting up and squinting at him. “It’s like bathwater in there, how are you even -”
“At least I’m wet.” His voice carried over to you, hair plastered to the top of his head, sunglasses covering most of his face. “You’re soaked too, but not with pool water, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you sweat this much -”
“Don’t say another word, Delos.” You shook your head, using your forearm to swipe at your face and hating that he was right. The entire west coast was dealing with a heatwave, and the power at your house had gone out hours earlier just after breakfast, meaning that even though the house’s backup generator was keeping the refrigerators and freezers as well as some of the basic electricity going, running the air conditioner was out of the question - and since the house was mostly windows, it was like a greenhouse inside. “Can’t we just leave, Logan? Go to a hotel or something and -”
“Everything’s out for miles.” He kicked his way over to the edge of the pool, splashing the concrete before resting his elbows on it as he leaned forward on his float, pushing his sunglasses to the top of his head. “C’mere.” Groaning, you did as he asked, waiting until he’d splashed a path for you across the concrete to keep your feet from burning. “Get in the pool with me, come on.” You sat down, hissing as your skin made contact with the barely cooled ground and lowered your legs into the water next to Logan, closing your eyes and shaking your head. “It’s not that hot.”
“Lo, I’m pretty sure that the hot tub water is colder than this because it’s been covered and in the shade for the last three days. This is... “ You sighed, looking out over the ocean. “We could go out on the beach, I bet that water is -”
“Are you crazy? Do you know how hot that goddamn sand is?” Logan had turned his head to the side, resting it on one bicep as he looked up at you. “We’d burn our legs off before we even got to the water.” You’re right. He grinned as you reached over with one hand, pulling his sunglasses off before trailing your fingers through his hair and down over his shoulder, pausing momentarily on the single patch of marred, raised skin on the back of it - the only physical reminder of his trip with William to Westworld.  “Get in here with me and we can float around until …”
“Til what, Logan? Until the sun goes down? Until we die of heat stroke? Until we boil to death like lobsters? I’m tempted to go and sit in the car and blast the air conditioning.” He laughed, shifting, and though you knew what was coming, you didn’t stop him from pulling you off of the edge of the pool and into the water, both of you disappearing beneath the surface as Logan shoved off of the chair he was on. You surfaced with his hands on your hips, his feet finding purchase on the sloping pool bottom and your heels comfortably on the ledge at the base of the wall, arms around his neck. “Alright, Lo,” you nodded, speaking softly. “It feels nice in here.” He smiled, leaning in and kissing you, grip tightening at your waist as his hips nudged against yours. Know it all.
---
The power came back on at nearly 7 pm - almost ten full hours after it had gone off in the first place, and once you and Logan had showered - both of you using cold water - and Logan had reconnected to the WiFi to set the thermostat to a frosty 64 degrees, he’d dragged you to the car, not even speaking until you were in the driveway. “Don’t ask questions, just get in.” He was wearing a gray t shirt and a pair of black shorts, and you’d been unwilling to put on much more clothing than your bathing suit, do you’d opted for a short, strapless sundress and a pair of sandals, hair again gathered on the top of your head. It was still hot out, but the angle of the sun had shifted, making it bearable to be outside, especially since you knew that you had an air conditioned home to return to.
“Where are we going, Logan?” He turned to look at you, his hair blowing gently in the air from the vents.
“I’m takin’ you out for ice cream, Mrs. Delos.” He grinned, eyes going back to the road. “I want something sweet, since we haven’t been able to open the refrigerator all day. And by the time we get home, the house will be cold again.” You nodded, settling back against the seat and watching out your window as the waves crashed against the shore. By the time you reached the plaza that Logan turned into, you were grinning - but not for any specific reason. He was taking you out for ice cream, and it was so simple - so normal that you were in disbelief. Not because Logan needed excess in every waking minute of his life, but because he didn’t. Sure, he was prone to displays that made you roll your eyes - the glittering jewelry on your hands was proof of that - but it was the simple moments that truly made you appreciate the man that you’d married multiple times.
Stepping out of the car, you looked around the packed parking lot, waiting for Logan to lock the doors before heading to Grom’s entrance, Logan pulling the door open for you. “Thank you,” you whispered as you stepped in, the cold air a welcome change from the stifling outdoors. “Logan, this isn’t even ice cream, it’s -”
“Gelato. I know.” He stepped behind you in line, arms going around your waist and his chin resting on your shoulder. “Said I wanted something sweet, not something plain.” As you read over the menu, Logan stayed close behind you, though his hands dropped, one finding your right hand and grasping your fingers. As you moved through the line, you heard a few people whispering, your name and Logan’s clearly audible more than once. “Ignore ‘em,” Logan breathed into your ear. “They’re gonna talk - let them talk.”
By the time you reached the counter to order, it seemed as if nearly everyone in the shop had looked at you, and while you wanted to believe it was because of who he was, you knew that it was partially because of how Logan looked; effortlessly handsome, even in his mid 30’s, much older than the majority of the other patrons, with messy, unkempt hair and a week’s worth of stubble on his face and neck. You loved him that way, and you knew that others before you had as well, but it still shocked you when you were in small spaces with him just how magnetic he was, how easily he drew attention to himself - and in turn, to you. “Can I take your order?” The young woman behind the counter was speaking to you but staring at your husband, and though you didn’t blame her, you still rolled your eyes, feeling Logan’s posture change slightly next to you as he moved closer, hand gripping your hip through the thin material of the dress you wore.
“Yeah, can I get a cup with the pesca and limone sorbets, please?” You paused, thinking. “And can I get some of the biscuits, too?” The girl smiled at you, finally looking away from Logan and nodded, typing in your order after asking for your name.
“And I’ll have one of the chocolate cones with stracciatella.” He leaned over the counter, tilting his head to the side. “Make it a double. I’m Logan.” You rolled your eyes but the girl beamed at Logan, nodding her head. He pulled his wallet out to pay, and the girl managed a few words of conversation with him before directing the two of you down to the end of the counter with one finger and another smile at your husband, who dropped the entirety of his change into the tip jar as he pushed you forward. “Gotta flirt to get bigger portions,” he mumbled as you waited, raising one eyebrow at him as you shook your head.
“Then I’m going to get a thimble full of sorbet and you’re going to get an entire batch piled on top of your cone, Lo.” He laughed, his arm going around your shoulders and pulling you closer to him, lips pressing against your temple. Since the end of your bet and the increase in speculation by the tabloids, you and Logan had been more affectionate in public than usual, which made him happy. He wasted no opportunity to kiss you and touch you, showing whoever was watching where his attention was, and although he still flirted, there was no weight to his actions.
After only a few minutes, a different employee handed you your orders - Logan’s cone at least double the size of yours - and you headed back out the door, since all of the indoor seating was taken. “Wanna sit by the lagoon? I know it’s hot, but at least there’s a breeze.” Logan nodded, his free hand on the small of your back as you crossed the street and the small parking lot, taking seats on the concrete benches. “Thank you, Lo.” You waited until he’d eaten some of his cone, tongue swirling around the heaping scoops of gelato in an attempt to keep it from melting.
“No problem.” He turned his head to look at you, a smile on his face as he watched you spoon up your sorbet, mouth back on his own dessert. “Good?” He spoke through a mouthful of gelato, lips turned up in a smile as he waited. You nodded, licking the back of your spoon and shifting closer to Logan. “Can I taste it?” He pointed to your cup, licking his lips and you nodded, readying your spoon.
“Yeah, which one? The peach or the -” He cut you off when he pulled you into a kiss, his tongue moving in your mouth as he sought out the taste of your sorbet. Sneaky bastard, you thought as you leaned into the kiss, feeling Logan’s fingers curling around the back of your neck to hold you in place.
“Delicious,” he whispered as he pulled back, eyes darker than usual. “Tastes even better on you.” your lips parted without pause as you looked at him, but after only a few seconds, your attention was drawn to Logan’s forearm, where a drip of gelato was working its way toward his elbow. He noticed it when you did, transferring his cone to his left hand and raising the pointed end to his mouth, sucking hard. “Shit.” He mumbled as you giggled, setting your own cup down as you reached out for his arm, wrapping your fingers around his wrist. “Ankyou,” he spoke around the bottom of his cone, still sucking the melted gelato through the small hole. But you didn’t pick up a napkin, instead twisting his arm so that the drip was on the top, lowering your head and sticking your tongue out. He hissed as you licked a path up his arm, collecting the liquid gelato and swallowing. Oh, that’s good. “Fucking stop that.” His voice was low and Logan was holding the cone off to the side, eyes trained on you.
“Stop what, Lo?” You looked up at him, not caring that there were other people sitting near you, because when Logan looked at you like he was only a few seconds from tearing your clothes off, you were unable to think straight. “I just wanted to taste you… your gelato.” He closed his eyes, lip curling and took a deep breath, standing. “Lo, whe-” He turned his arm, gripping you tightly and pulled you up too, shaking his head.
“We’re going home.” Oh. “Grab that cup and let’s go, because we’re going home and we’re going to continue this.”
“But it’ll melt, Logan, it’s already…” He stepped forward, tossing his remaining cone and gelato into the trash can before he turned back to you, pointing at the cup that was still half full and sitting on the bench.
“I’ll turn the air on in the car and you can hold it in front of the vent. It’s only fifteen minutes.” You laughed, but Logan’s tone was serious. “I want it to melt,” he said simply. “But I want it to melt on you.” Yes, please. “Because…” He bit down on his lip before he spoke again. “You think licking my arm was worth it? You think that kiss was…” He shook his head, gaze moving down your body and then back up. “Think about that, but all over.” You shivered as he leaned in, speaking into your ear. “You’re gonna taste so good.”
Within seconds, you and Logan were moving back across the parking lot, the cup of rapidly melting sorbet still in one hand. “Hey, Lo?” You looked over at him as he pulled back onto PCH, his eyes trained on the road in front of him. You were playing with fire and you knew it, but that’s how it had been for the entire three years of your relationship. “You always taste good.”

Summertime Sadness - Ch.8

It has been about a week since you have spoken to Josh. You had a long talk with Mariah the other day and figured stuff out with her but your parents said you aren’t allowed to hang out with her alone until you were ungrounded.
The conversation went easier than you expected, mostly because Mariah actually listened to you for once instead of getting defensive. She apologized for what she did and promised to never let Tyler get in the way of their friendship again. Mariah also gave you some advice about Josh, especially since you haven’t been able to get him off of your mind.
Being grounded in the summer was not fun, and the past week was spent with you helping around the house and doing chores for your family, which Johnny and Bri took advantage of. You never got any free time, and they never gave you a break. Plus, all you heard about was the raise that Johnny had gotten at his job.
A job. This was also the only thing your parents would talk to you about. They brought it up any time they could, they would remind you of how “lazy” you were. You finally ended up applying to an ice cream shop in your neighborhood, and you had the interview today.
“How do I look?” you asked your mom spinning around to show her the outfit. It was a black polo shirt and khakis. You wanted to look professional, and this was the outfit your mom chose. You hated it.
“Professional! Remember to make eye contact, and don’t slouch!”
“I know, Mom.”
“Goodluck, sweetie!” she tried to kiss your forehead but you swerved out of the way. You haven't let your mom or dad touch you since you came home a week ago. You still haven’t forgiven them for grounding you during the summer when you were an adult, even if you did kind of deserve it.
You hopped into your car and headed to the ice cream shop. You turned on your local radio and they were interviewing a local band. The voice caught your attention, so you turned it up.
“Yeah, we have just been rehearsing like crazy getting ready for the state fair later this summer!”
It was Tyler’s voice.
“It will be like my fourth performance with the band so I’m excited!”
That was Josh’s voice.
Your stomach started to twist and turn at the sound of his voice, and you wanted to throw up. You turned off the radio and tried to regain control of your breathing. The last thing you wanted was to be shaken up before your interview.
You found parking in front of the ice cream shop, and you headed in.
“Hi, I’m here for an interview?” you told the young girl who was on the register.
“Oh yeah! Let me go get my manager!” You watched her run to the back and come back out with women who looked about 35. She seemed nice.
“Hi I’m Taylor!” she shook your hand.
“Hi, I’m Y/N, it’s nice to meet you!”
She took you to the back room where she asked you questions about yourself, and other questions they usually asked at an interview. You felt pretty good about it all.
“I would love to offer you a job here!” She said at the end.
“Really? I would love that!” you said excitedly.
“Yes! You seem like you would make a great addition to our team! Could you start this Friday?”
“Yes!” You shook her hand and thanked her once again before heading home. You were excited that you finally had a job so you could escape the never-ending chores from your family.
You drove a little fast back to your house, and you ran inside to tell your family the news.
“I got the job!” you announced.
“I’m so proud of you!” your Mom and Dad said at the same time, coming towards you to hug you but you started to head upstairs before they could. You could see the hurt in your Mom’s eyes but you tried to brush it aside.
You headed to Jonny’s room to tell him the news, and this time you knocked on his door.
“Come in.”
“I got the job at the ice cream parlor!”
“Nice! Way to go, Y/N!” he gave you a high five.
“Where’s Bri?” you wondered.
“I just dropped her off at a guys house.”
You raised your eyebrow at him, “Are you serious? Our fourteen-year-old sister gets to go to a guys house and I get grounded for being an adult.”
“To be fair you were underage drinking,” he pointed out.
“But you did it too!”
“Yeah, but I was just smarter than you at hiding it! “
“Whatever,” you rolled your eyes.
“You’re bi, why don’t you go date a girl instead of some douche?”
“Because I haven’t found any girls that are worthy for this,” you joked making your brother make gagging noises. “Why don’t you have a girlfriend?”
“Because I have better things to do than focus on love.”
“But you’re 21, I feel like you should start dating.”
“At least I’m not a virgin!”
“Fuck off, Johnny!” You flipped him off and started to head out his door.
“Hey I was just messing with you, do you want to play Mario Kart again? I’m bored,” he offered.
You sighed, “Sure, but you better get ready to get your ass beat.”
*     *     *
Today was the first day of your new job, and you were filled with nerves and excitement. You had put on your outfit, which included a bright yellow t-shirt that said “Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream” on it with pink bubble letters. You got to wear jeans which you were happy about.
You threw your hair up into a ponytail, and you headed downstairs to say goodbye to your family. Bri was downstairs watching a movie with your Dad, while your mom was in the kitchen doing more meal prep.
“You ready for your first day?” she asked, smiling.
“As ready as I’ll ever be,” you shrugged.
“Do you know what time you will get off?”
“I don’t, but I’ll keep you updated. I heard that the coworker's usually hung afterward on Friday, and I really think I should go since it’s my first day. I want to make a good first impression.”
“Hmm, I suppose. How late would it be?”
“Probably around midnight but they’re coworkers, Mom. I promise I won’t do anything dumb.”
You grabbed your keys and headed to your car. Your hands were sweating the entire way there, and when you pulled into a parking spot you decided to give yourself a little pep talk to yourself through your rearview mirror.
“Listen here Y/N. You got this. You are smart and everyone has to have their first day and be trained. You got this!” You gave yourself a high fived and headed in.
The manager was there and introduced you to a boy, his name was Ethan, and he was going to be the one who was training you. He was very flamboyant, and he wanted to know everything about you when there weren’t any customers.
He taught you how to use the cash register, and how to scoop the ice cream and make the different specials. It wasn’t as difficult as you were expecting and Ethan made it much easier. He was funny, and you enjoyed working with him.
“I guess I should let you know I’m gay in case you fall in love with me,” he joked.
“I couldn’t tell, and I’m gay too. Well, partially. I’m bi.”
“Whoa, we’re queer ice cream scoopers!” he held up his gloved hand for a high five. You laughed at the sound it made when it hit your hand which was also gloved.
“Y/L/N?” you turned around at the familiar voice calling out your name.
There he was.
Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph.
“Hey, Tyler! Josh.” You waved to Tyler and glared at Josh.
“I didn’t know you worked here,” Tyler spoke as he looked through the ice cream flavors. Josh kept his gaze on you, and you couldn’t look away either. His warm chocolate eyes were pulling you in again. You noticed that there was color peeking underneath his t-shirt.
“Did you get a tattoo?” you asked him. He nodded and pulled up his sleeve to reveal that his shoulder was covered in a bright orange galaxy, surrounded by a deep blue. It didn’t take a genius to figure out it was a space-scape; Josh had never been one for hiding his fascination with the universe.
“Do you like it? I’m going to get a tree added on my forearm later this week!” he announced
“Yeah it looks really cool, but look we’re closing soon so can you hurry and order,” you joked.
“I want chocolate,” Tyler announced.
“That’s it?”
“Yep, just good ol’ plain chocolate!” Ethan made him his ice cream while you rung him up, giving him the employee discount even though you shouldn’t have.
“Do you want anything?” Ethan asked Josh, and he shook his head no. He kept on looking at you, and his gaze was different than usual but you couldn’t place why.
You watched the boys leave, waving to them goodbye. It was finally time for closing, and Ethan showed you how to clean.
“Is it usually only two of us closing?” you wondered.
“Usually on Friday it’s more but we were slow last year so they didn’t give us many hours this year.”
“So no coworker hang out?”
“Nope, not tonight. Don’t sound too disappointed,” he joked.
It was around 10:15 when you guys finally closed. You watched Ethan lock the door and you said goodbye to him as he headed to his car. You started to walk to your car which was parked across the street when you noticed a figure standing next to the passenger door.
“Josh?”
“Hey, Y/L/N,” he smiled.
“What are you doing here?” you asked confused as to where Tyler was, and if he waited here for you to get off.
“Y/N, I haven’t been able to get you off of my mind. I’m sorry for everything I said that day,” he rubbed his arm as he spoke. His voice was soft, and you could tell he was being genuine.
“Good thing I haven’t been able to get you off my mind either,” you chuckled.
“Can I show you something?” Josh asked, grabbing your hand which sent sparks up your arm.
“Sure.”
“Here, get in my car.” He walked you over to his Jeep that was parked not very far away from yours. You didn’t bother asking where he was taking you, and you just sat back and waited.
It was only about a six-minute drive, and he pulled up on this gravel road. He got out and came over to open your door. He grabbed your hand again and led you down to a little entrance to a lake.
The view was breathtaking. There was a full moon tonight, and it was being perfectly reflected onto the bluish tinted water. You could hear the crickets chirping, and coyotes howling in the background. It was an eerie and mysterious feeling being out here, but Josh held your hand.
“It’s beautiful,” you whispered.
“Like you.”
You looked up at him and you couldn’t help but smile at his words. He looked handsome with the cool moonlight surrounding his face.
“I dare you to jump in the water,” you chuckled.
“No way, I’ll only do it if you do it!”
“Okay,” you shrugged. You started to take off your shirt.
“Wait, you’re serious?” he looked at you with mesmerization.
“I’m just trying to prove to you that I’m not so innocent as you think,” you winked and you threw your shirt at him. You slipped off your jeans and shoes leaving you standing there in your bra and panties.
“Y/N” Josh yelled your name but you were already running and jumping off the dock into the cold water. It was shocking and refreshing. You rose to the surface and spotted Josh who was now stripping his clothes as well. He stood there in just his boxers and you watched him jump in after you.
“It’s freezing!” his teeth chattered as he floated to the top. His curly hair was plastered to his forehead, and you couldn’t help but laugh. You swam over to Josh and placed your hand on his shoulders.
“You just kicked my foot,” you announced.
“I’m trying to not drown here, Y/L/N. It’s hard to tread water when you’re holding on to me!”
“Sorry, I don’t want to drown either!” you both were laughing, and swimming around. You were floating on your back, and Josh just watched you swim. You stopped for a little and threaded back to where Josh was holding on to the dock. You looked into his brown eyes that resembled earthy hues. You were lost, and you never wanted to be found.
“Y/L/N, I think I’m falling in love with you,” Josh whispered.
“Kiss me,” you blurted. Josh didn’t hesitate and before you knew it he was grabbing your cheek and pulling you close to him. You could feel his soft lips press against yours, and you could feel his tongue peeking through. You welcomed it in with a smile, and Josh continued to kiss you passionately.
You pulled away, out of breath from the kiss. It was everything you had dreamed of.
“How was that for your first real kiss?” he smirked.
“The best it could have ever been,” you planted another kiss on his lips as the moonlight lit up the water around you two.

Switched - Grayson Dolan Imagine
Tumblr media
Concept: It’s Grayson and Ethan’s day of filming for switching lives. Y/N, Grayson’s gf, has no idea until she gets there that morning. So now she has to hang out with Ethan for the day. Even though she’s shy, Ethan does the best he can to be Gray, as a boyfriend, for the time they spend together.
Word Count: 3023
Warnings: it’s poorly written...?
A/N: I’m sorry for lack of posts. Here’s the GD Imagine I’ve been talking about that @whatmakesmehappyy brought up. I’m sorry if it seems choppy and what not. I hope you end up enjoying it nonetheless though, this is for my Gray girls<3
****
Y/N unlocks the front door with her key and walks into the twins’ house as she puts it back in her messenger bag. “Gray?.. Gray, where are you?”
There’s a moment of silence before Ethan yells, “Fuck!,” in the background.
Now, he appears in the hallway, holding his GoPro as he’s filming, “I forgot I have a girlfriend and that she was coming over today.”
Her face twists into confusion. “Eth-”
Ethan cuts her off, “I’m not Ethan, I’m Grayson today.”
Y/N thinks for a moment, then realizes what’s going on and plays along. “Right. How’s it going, boyfriend?”
“Just great, the work list has been stupid.”
“You mean the daily life responsibilities that I’m stuck doing?” Gray scoffs, walking into the living room from the kitchen. “The dishes still aren’t done.”
Ethan obnoxiously groans and stomps to the kitchen to finish them. “This...sucks!”
Gray smirks lightly and looks at Y/N lovingly and then his face cringes a little. He’s not jealous, but feels more apologetic towards the situation. “I’m sorry you’re going to be with this loser all day. It’s for a video.”
Y/N laughs with a wink. “You’ll have to make up for it later.”
“Deal.” Gray steps closer for a hug, and he’s about to leave a kiss on her nose when Ethan comes whisking in to tug Y/N away.
“That’s my girlfriend! Come on, Y/N, let’s go do couply stuff.”
Gray only shakes his head and shrugs. “Guess I should get back to playing fortnite cause it’s literally all E does.”
Ethan points a serious finger at Gray. “One more comment about my lifestyle and I swear-”
“I thought you were Gray?” Y/N jokes.
“I am, but-”
“But what? Bro, just take your girl for ice cream.” Gray, sort of awkwardly, winks at Y/N and walks off to go to Ethan’s bedroom.
As Y/N looks back at Ethan, he’s looking at a neatly written to do list to see what was next; ‘Take Y/N for ice cream (she’ll say she doesn’t want ice cream, but she does. She’ll want to pay for it, don’t let her)’. Then he looks at her as he pockets it. “Well, the next thing is to take you for ice cream. Leggo.”
She crosses her arms. “I don’t want ice cream.”
E makes a short, hysterical laugh. “You’re not funny. Let’s go.”
Ethan connects his phone to his car’s bluetooth to put on Spotify; the playlist literally titled ‘Gangsta beats’.
Despite being shy around Ethan sometimes, Y/N snorts, “Gangsta beats, really?”
“Why do you ask that every time I play it? Yes, that’s the title, only thing I could think of when I made it.”
“Mmmhm.”
“Hey! You have a playlist called blah blah blah, so shut up.”
Y/N bites her lip to stop herself from laughing too hard. “Okay, that was a fair shot.”
Ethan scoffs lightly, “Of course, it was. I’m not a savage.”
She only gives him a look. ‘That’s one of the biggest fibs that he’s said to this date’ she thinks.
He swung into Jeni’s Splendid parking lot and made a slightly jerky halt in a spot.
As Ethan reaches the door, slightly ahead of Y/N, he turns back around with an annoyed groan. “Gray is super cuddly, isn’t he?”
A bright pink floods her cheeks and she looks at everything but Ethan. She clears her throat. “Yeah, but don’t worry about it.”
“No, no, I’m Gray for the day. Imma do this right.” Ethan takes her hand in his large one, making hers get lost like Gray’s does, and he opens the door for her to enter the ice cream shop first.
The aroma was captivating; it always brings Y/N back to childhood as she grew up in the Los Angeles area. It was the same shop she met the two Jersey boys. She accidentally spilled a shake all over Gray’s shirt; her flip-flop strap part popped off mid walk and caused her to trip. As upset and embarrassed as she felt about getting him all dirty, it ended out to be for the better.
Now Y/N knew she wants a shake, but figures she could have some fun first.
“Pick out any ice cream.” Ethan states, gesturing at all the options.
“How many scoops can I get?”
“As many as you want.” Ethan got a slight smug look on his face, knowing that he said an exact phrase Gray would say, and runs a hand through is hair.
“And that also means I can get five different flavors if I want five scoops?” Y/N tests.
“Yes.”
Y/N taps her chin as she pretends to observe the flavor choices Jeni has today. “Hmm…” She takes more time to keep looking at them. “I think I’ll get-wait no..I think..”
“Babe, can you just decide? There’s people behind us.” Ethan asks, his tone not changing too much to irritation.
Yet anyways.
“Will you split it with me? What flavors do you want? Pistachio?”
Ethan’s face scrunches up. “Ew! No! Why would you even suggest that?”
Y/N knew he meant both and she laughs. “I’m kidding.” She reaches out for Ethan’s hand, shocking him a bit, and tugs him towards the ice cream sandwiches and other frozen treats instead.
“I might actually get one of these.” He comments, eyeing them, and picks out a Strawberry Cheesecake bar.
Y/N continues to take her sweet ass time, trying to get Ethan to break his “cool” stature.
“I’ll go pay for this while you finally make a decision.”
From the corner of her eye, she watches him and waits until he’s back to turn to him.
“I don’t know what I want.” Y/N fake whines. “Baby, this perio-”
“Sssh!” Ethan waves his hand like maniac and pulls Y/N away from as many people as possible. “You’re fucking joking, right?”
“Yes. And if I was on it, I wouldn’t say it aloud.”
He lets out a deep breath, biting his lip. “Fine. Please just pick something now.”
Y/N stands there in a silence, and now another smirk spreads on Ethan’s lips. He takes a step closer, resting a hand on her divot, and whispers, “Make daddy dolan happy.”
She blushes furiously and busts out a laugh as Ethan cringe laughs.
“Please don’t ever say that again.”
“I swear I won’t.”
She shakes her head and finally walks over to the counter to order an Oreo shake with Ethan directly in tow; all eyes were on them as they left, probably from the outburst scenes.
Worth it.
***
“Take a 15 minute power nap...(Y/N gets sleepy around 2 but she won’t say anything...The power nap is for her more than me).” Ethan reads aloud and looks over at Y/N who’s currently holding the GoPro to film.
Grayson appears now and points to her. “I think it’s someone’s nap time.”
She switches the camera point of view to him. “I’m not that-” She cut short with a small yawn and sends a small glare when the two twins laugh under their breaths.
“Bro, I know you lay with her, do I do that? I don’t want to-”
“It’s fine, E.” Gray looks at Y/N with raised brows. “Right? He’s me today, but it’s up to you.”
She blushes and turns the camera on Ethan, who was also being slightly awkward. But having cuddles for a nap is her favorite part. Y/N finally speaks, “I...like..cuddles.”
Gray makes a small smile and claps his hands together once. “It’s settled. Get cuddles and sleep.”
As Y/N rolls her eyes Ethan reaches out to grab her wrist. “Nap time!”
It wasn’t cuddling as in what Gray would do, but Y/N is fairly content and tired enough with Ethan just lying there next to her she closes her eyes.
Grayson tries to distract himself for fifteen minutes by going out to the pool and blowing up one of the floaties. He decides on the turtle because it’s looking low. He uses the pole net to drag it out and opens the air source to give it more life. With satisfaction, he tosses it back in the pool to let it drift around more then goes back inside.
He carefully picks up Y/N in his arms and carries her to his bed. Ethan has no idea what is coming next as Gray yells, “Power nap! Feel the power!” into his ear. Gray lets Y/N sleep for about an hour as he only sleeps for fifteen minutes for a power nap.
“Grayson!” E groans, covering his ears and tries to cuddle back up with the purple pillow.
Grayson tugs it from him and shoves the GoPro into his face. “It’s called a power nap! Feel the power, yet?”
Ethan looks up at him, annoyed, and reluctantly sits up. “No cause I was up too damn early this morning.”
“It’s a good thing to rise and shine, E!”
He only flips off the camera as he goes to do something else on the to-do list: ‘Do laundry.’
Gray sort of hovers; only to have some fun with annoyance.
“Make sure to separate darks and lights.”
E gives some side eye before throwing in a load of whites first and pouring some detergent into the pocket above. “I’ve got it, Ethan.”
Gray smirks with a laugh, then walks off to E’s bedroom before he instinctively goes to cuddle with Y/N for when she wakes up.
Ethan came bursting into the room with his GoPro. “Does this mean I win the challenge?”
Still tangled with Y/N, Gray whisper yells, “Not a challenge, E! This doesn’t count, she needs me.” He squeezes his thick ass arms tighter around her until she starts to sleepily laugh.
“Gray, babe, I’m awake.”
“Good! It’s time for us to go get supplies for dinner.”
Y/N rubs her face and pulls herself from her boyfriend’s strong, soft grasp. He pouts for a moment and then gets up to go do something else. The car ride is quiet again, Ethan plays the same playlist but lets it continue onto different songs. When they reach the store entrance, Ethan sighs as he holds up the camera.
“Grayson is super cuddly all the freaking time with Y/N, so I have to be super freaking cuddly with her.” With no warning, he wraps an arm around Y/N’s shoulders and brings her into him and walks in. Throughout the day, Y/N has been warming up more and more to E, they’re friends, but they normally don’t spend time together without Grayson.
If that has not been apparent until now.
Y/N began to get giggly and felt like it was a good time to embarrass Ethan by being obnoxious. She tries on some of the hats and sunglasses as they walk from one end of the Target to the grocery side.
“Do these look good, babe?” She sets the bridge of the white oval sunglasses on the rim of her nose and looks at him over them.
“Yeah...Sure.” He ruffles a hand through his hair.
She smiles and jumps up and down a little. “Can I get them?”
He shakes his head and lets out a small puff of air. “No reason to ask me. Get them if you want.” She tosses them into the cart as he points the GoPro towards the food. “I’m gonna get what’s on the list.”
Y/N follows but quickly deters for the pet section and picks up a bag of dog bones to put in the cart.
“Y/N, Gray and I don’t have a dog.”
“But you could! And if you do, you’ll need treats to train.”
Definitely not for the last time, he shakes his head and puts them back. Y/N crosses her arms and now follows as they go to the sauces section, which also happens to have the spices.
“We don’t need saffron!”
Y/N bites her lip to stop herself from laughing too loud. “You might though! You’re always saying Grayson- I mean Ethan is always telling you need to add more seasoning on food.”
She grab little jars of Paprika and Basil to put in the cart.
***
Gray lays on the bed, thinking of what to do. Then he gets an idea of something to say.
“Ethan is probably trying to deal with Y/N right now. She’s probably putting super unnecessary things in the cart right now… I should’ve warned him.”
He notices his phone light up and sees a text from Ethan.
Ethan: How do I handle her???
He shows the camera his phone, trying to get it to focus on the text a little bit. “I told you.”
Gray: Just have fun with her. She loves when people play along. And she gets kinda nervous if she feels like she’s bugging you. DO NOT let her think she’s bugging you I swear bro!
Ethan: Dude chill you know I wouldn’t
She’s fine I really like her … you picked a good one
Gray: Thanks man
Gonna be home soon?
Ethan: …. Not going to answer that
Gray laughs out loud and looks back into the GoPro. “Ethan is definitely having one hell of a time with Y/N at the store. I can’t wait to see what she convinced him to buy that’s not on the list.”
***
“So what are we supposed to do?” Ethan asks.
Y/N takes the bag of shredded cheese out of his hands. “Get the crust out and then spread pizza sauce on them.”
She watches him carefully do it, yet still leave large random globs of it around. She takes the spatula from him and lightly shoves him out of the way. “I’ll make the pizzas.”
“Don’t put the anchovies on, please.”
“I won’t.” Y/N laughs and finishes up as E does something on his phone. E pretends to be annoyed for the camera as the pizzas cook.
“How much longer, Y/N?”
She gestures at the timer and he squints to read it. “Almost done. Woo!”
Carefully the pizzas are taken out of the oven by the two, Y/N takes the one Ethan is supposed to eat.
Ethan states, “I worked really hard on these. You better eat it.”
Gray glances at the pizza before Y/N. “Did you make sure to put anchovies on the Gray pizza?”
She nods with a small smile.
Ethan’s eyes go wide in realization and betrayal. “Y/N, you said you weren’t going to!”
“Hey, gotta play fair.” She shrugs as Gray laughs under his breath and wraps an arm around her waist.
“She’s my girlfriend.” E snatches Y/N by the wrist to pull her over and he looks at the pizza in disgust. “Do I really have to, bro?”
The doorbell rings and Gray gets up from the chair to answer it. “Yes.” He comes back with a Pizza Hut box and now Y/N drops her jaw.
“Hey, my cooking isn’t that bad! Not as bad as what his would be.” She points to him.
Gray smiles a cheesy smile as he picks up a slice. “Sorry, babe. Only here to ruin Gray’s day. He does this to me all the time.” He takes a big bite and over exaggerates his chewing.
“Come on! Let me have a slice of that pizza.”
Grayson thought about it for a second. “If you...eat half a slice with a large anchovy on it, I will give you a slice.”
Gray and Y/N watch in amusement as Ethan barely eats an anchovy and freaks out enough to run into the kitchen and swash water in his mouth from the sink faucet. He goes back to where the other two are to snatch a piece of pizza.
“Let’s just get on to the next part.”
***
“Since Ethan is Grayson today, that means I get to hold his hand when he gets a tattoo.” Y/N speaks into the camera and walks over to where Ethan is sitting on the seat and takes his hand in hers.
“Bro, this part is unfair.” Gray mumbles.
Ethan laughs. “The tattoo isn’t that bad, bro. Don’t be a baby. You’ll be fine without Y/N holding your hand.”
Grayson slightly narrows his eyes and quickly smacks a hand on E’s arm. “Shut up, I’m not a baby because I want Y/N to hold my hand… It’s comforting, you’ll see.”
All Y/N could do is blush and shakes her head.
***
Y/N decides to stand behind the camera for the recording of their outro; it’s their video afterall. She watches in amusement though as they “switch” back. She should’ve been expecting what happened next, yet she is still surprised.
Gray runs over and tackles her behind the camera. He snuggles his face into her neck and whispers, “You’re staying the night, right?”
She giggles. “You promised a make up for having to hang with the loser all day.”
Ethan picks up the camera off the tripod and points it at them. “Hey! I was a great boyfriend!”
“It’s true, you were great. You’re gonna make somebody very happy one day, Ethan.”
He gets kinda blushy, but super smiley. “Shut up.” He puts the camera back on the tripod and heads to leave the room.
“We gotta finish the outro!” Gray yells.
E sticks his head back in the room to throw up a peace sign. “PEACE!” He gives Gray a look. “Good enough?” Then he leaves for good.
Gray just shakes his head and drags Y/N to sit on the purple couch with him for a more proper outro.
“That’s it for this weeks video. Hope you enjoyed it. I definitely like being me more. What did you think babe?”
She laughs. “I prefer you as you.”
He kisses her cheek and snuggles her again. “Good.”
“PEACE!” Y/N suddenly yells and throws up a peace sign.
“Y/N! We’re supposed to say it together!”

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, 445 N Beverly Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210
Tumblr media
Fro-yo girl here. Jeni’s recently opened a scoop shop in Beverly Hills. I went to the Jeni’s in Venice a few months ago and a single scoop was $6.25. In Beverly Hills, the menu doesn’t specify number of scoops. The standard is $6.95 (up to 2 flavors) and the signature is $7.70 (up to 3 flavors). I’m a bit confused.
The shop has about 18 ice cream flavors in the cases. They have classic flavors and seasonal flavors. Ask for samples. Dairy-free options are labeled.
Buttercrisp waffle cones and bowls are made on site and they’re the reason the store smells so yummy. My hair smelled like waffle cones after leaving the shop.
The standard is two smaller scoops – and it comes with a crispy buttercrisp waffle cone wedge.
Brambleberry crisp: The sample was so small that I don’t think I got any brambleberry but I did get some of the oat streusel
Rainbow buttermilk frozen yogurt: One of my favorite Jeni flavors. it’s three flavors: Red Raspberry, Lime Cardamom, and Passion Fruit froyo. It does taste like rainbow sherbet but better - extra tangy, thick, creamy, silky, and rich. It’s for people who really love the taste of tangy yogurt (unfortunately, that’s not the majority).
The place is cheerful and cute. The striped awning, the fresh flowers at each table – there’s something comforting and beautiful about the shop.
You can also buy pints and merchandise (e.g., cooler bags, Jeni’s cookbooks, Jeni’s apparel). There’s a rewards app now.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

CLT loves: ice cream shops.
• When I'm no longer rapping, I want to open up an ice cream parlor and call myself Scoop Dogg • -- Snoop Dogg 🍦
Tumblr media
Charlotte and the surrounding areas have their fair share of ice cream, gelato, and soft serve shops - and for good reason. CLT-ers love premium ice creams and going out is seen as a treat, date idea, and means for bribing small children.
In Charlotte (proper, not suburbs included) alone, a massive turf war is raging between the old faithfuls, ie: Elizabeth Creamery, Mr. K’s, and the newcomers: King of Pops and Jeni’s Splendid.

Evening pics + prepare for a long ass post coming at cha -made it back to NJ last night woooOoooOoooOOo, stopped at my dad’s on the way in and saw him plus my soon to be step mom/sis/bro which was nice -today involved sooooo much: unpacking my car, grocery shopping, laundry, a workout, PT appointment, hanging with my neighbor for a bit, etc. -my PT appointment has me feeling SO hopeful, my therapist showed me so many exercises to strengthen my peroneals because we need to strengthen them not just sit around resting them and THAT has me feeling good because it is active recovery not just hoping for the best, literally gonna be going 3x per week the rest of the month plus stretching on my own so I genuinely believe I’ll see big changes by the time I have to head back to NC in june...plus I may lowkey have a crush on my PT so that makes spending 183792628 hours there this month not too bad!! -my mom has had a big veggie garden for as long as I can remember and this spring she and her bf totally overhauled and revamped it and it’s so beautiful (I’ll post a pic at some point) and I ate my breakfast out there this morning in the crisp morning air and it was wonderful -speaking of, I ate both breakfast and dinner outside today with no distractions and it was so nice, no scrolling through social media, no netflix, no “stuff,” it felt good to be so present -after dinner I capitalized upon the fact that my mom isn’t home and used her fancy ass bath tub to take an epsom salt bath and I started a new FICTION book which has me excited because I loooove non-fiction because I find the realness of it interesting but after finals and so many non-fiction books my brain needs a lil break -the other day I got the strongest craving for ben & jerry’s pb cup ice cream which I haven’t had in literally years and it was still on my mind today but the store didn’t have it so I scooped up some jeni’s and -and it was BOMB. I went to a jeni’s shop in charleston and it was sooo good and I’ve been seeing it at WF lately but this is the first I’ve bought it, anyway side story re: recovery... -so buying ice cream from the store (rather than a scoop shop) really freaks me out, in highschool I went through a phase of my ED where I binged on ice cream like crazy and even though I haven’t binged in a looooong time the act of buying ice cream reminds me of that and freaks me out, especially since I’m home rn and physically in the same location where I was when that was an issue years ago, anyway- the only way to eliminate the associations with something is to build new ones so I ate some of the darn ice cream and it tasted amazing and then I stopped and put it in the freezer and that was that, honestly yeah I feel a little anxious about it especially because there’s a part of my brain that says I could have just had a different snack but I’m realllllly trying to work on leaning into my body and satisfying what it wants and if I have a certain thing on my mind for a few days, I should probably just have it -tbh it makes me anxious to even post about that so! -in other news I just started watching the john mulaney standup on netflix and it has me laughing out loud Okay!! That is all congrats if you made it to the end 🧡

For @jenibrittonbauer, Flavor is Everything
Jeni is part of the #CreateCultivate100 list, honoring 100 inspiring women across 10 categories.
Founder, chief creative officer, entrepreneur, ice cream maven — meet Jeni Britton Bauer (@jenibrittonbauer). “I quit art school to start my first ice cream business in 1996,” says the 44-year-old behind Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. “It’s been my lifelong pursuit — literally, more than half my entire life has been devoted to ice cream.”
Jeni likes to say, “FLAVOR IS EVERYTHING.” “Flavor is what you experience when you eat ice cream, but it is so much more,” she says. “It’s about memory association and that is unique to each person. It’s about gathering knowledge and experience and going deeper. So, for me, ice cream is about flavor, and it’s about conversation and getting to know someone else better. My favorite part of my job is scooping ice cream and helping people find a flavor that inspires them and the conversation that unfolds.”
She’s based in Columbus, Ohio, but Jeni is often on the road to visit her scoop shops all over the country — and she loves what she’s seeing. “The maker and entrepreneur movement is a massive tsunami. Women, especially, are so united and connected and gathering all over,” she says. “And it’s only growing.”

Jeni's announces the return of its wildly popular, extraordinarily divisive (but also very delicious) Everything Bagel ice cream
Jeni’s announces the return of its wildly popular, extraordinarily divisive (but also very delicious) Everything Bagel ice cream
The flavor returns to Jeni’s scoop shops and jenis.com on March 21. Let the debate begin. “Intrigued.” “Horrified.” “Skeptical.” “Tried it. Loved it. Confused by it.” Threats to call the police. Offers to trade their first-born child. Accusations of God abandoning us all to unabashed praise simply for existing. Reactions of “pretty damn good” to “not at all gross.” “The worst thing I have seen…
