Do defied humans get abilities as well? If not, then what do I put for that section in the application form? And what would the godly title and symbol for a defied human be? Say Icarus for example?

we have decided that they will! every deity that we welcome into this rp will have a level of powers, for the defied humans we find it easier to use the symbols that come about when you read their mythology; both jeeda and i highly recommend the website theoi.com.

RE: APP QUESTIONS: the deity name would be ‘the defied mortal (name)’ or ‘the defied mortal’ depending on what flows better for you. + this specific section in the second paragraph of the app, as the [deity] of [symbol]: this could simply be, for icarus and using examples from below, the ‘defied mortal born of hubris’, or the ‘defied mortal of hubris’

as for icarus as you requested, this is what i personally would do, using the summary of his story as inspiration (located on our defied mortals page).  i hope this helps, and i would be happy to elaborate on any of the other defied mortals as well if you feel you’d like some input in other ways !

SUMMARY ; ICARUS — the young son of the artisan daedalus who was imprisoned in king minos’ labyrinth along with his father. the two sought to escape on wings that daedalus had crafted from wax and feathers, he was warned by his father to not fly to close to the sun or water, lest the feathers get wet or the wax melt in the heat. during their flight he grew overconfident and ignored his fathers words, flying too high and melting the wax until he tumbled to his death into the ocean. his body was spied by the demi-god hercules, who took pity on the father and son, and offered daedalus a place in the heavens alongside icarus.

SYMBOL ; hubris, flight and freedom, swiftness and speed, filial piety and/or vengeance against unfilial offences.

WINGS, FEATHERS, FLYING, SUN ; enchanted or enamoured with the sun, weakness to the sun, affinity wth feathers or draws strength from feathers; also perhaps comfort, vitality, speed, protection.

ANIMALS ; large-wingspan birds; he and his father made to escape on wings made of wax and feathers.

SACRED PLANTS/ITEMS ; as there is nothing specifically linked to icarus save for wings; it would be feathers primarily, if not you could also incorporate wax, in the form of candles that are sacred to him or in his home, perhaps.
