This may be fuckign ooc for frost queen and longan dragon but idk ill just say this is for how they are in my au

Like, frost queen for her is just... control over her emotions. For the longest time she was fine, perfectly so. Until she regained her memories, now she has to try to understand this grief of having lost someone centuries after theyve passed, and knowing that her ascension likely caused their death. Not to mention theres also Cotton and Sherbert added into the mix. She suddenly has others around her, which does soften her a bit imo. While sure Sherbert is usually away exploring earthbread, there's Cotton. Who seemed to have continued to meet and talk with frost queen and evennsend her gifts! And she's kept them all! I imagine as Cotton grew older there may have been something more amongst those interactions, but I dont think frost queen could handle that. She knows what would inevitably happen. And it does happen.

(In my au Cotton, in her old age, tries to travel to the castle once more and ends up contracting the same illness Frost queen and Sherbert had so long ago. She ends up becoming a frost spirit instead of becoming snow, and its a happy moment because she can finally travel the world with her best friend! But its still a mourning for Frost Queen, cause the Cotton she grew to love is still gone. She's happy that she regained her youth and can do what she wishes, but it still hurts Frost Queen deep down)

So I think she keeps this ice cold facade, but its a rather weak one. She doesnt have those she feels she can share this weakness with, nor show how thawed her heart had actually become.

Then you have Longan Dragon, and tbh I feel like theyre a mess from the get go and are good at hiding it. In my au they go through a lot of loss and betrayal, and being onenof the youngest dragons they dont fully have the support or understanding to properly process that.

The one that they sought counsel for is dead, the ones that supported them simply desires power for themselves, so they stay alone in their temple. There are the wyverns but it isnt the same... they cant go to the other dragons since they wouldn't be of help (they all have their own weird issues rip) they have no one.

And then they meet

Its tense and hostile at first, but (perhaps with some help) the two start to just... visit. Its cold and awkward, but they can feel theres something there at least.

It takes a while for them to be able to be vulnerable, but once it happens its a comfort. They dont need to keep a facade. And even when they lack the words for one another, they can simply hold one another, sometimes its enough
