Tamagotchi Uni Earns 2023 Nikkei Great Products and Services Award

Another award! The Tamagotchi Uni has just been recognized by Nikkei, a Japanese leading business newspaper. Nikkei hosts an award meaning each year to determine which products will earn the Nikkei Great Product and Services Award, and 2023 is the 43rd year of the award. Nikkei independently selects the products and services each year.

There are five sections to the Products and Services awards, and they gave Tamagotchi Uni the MJ Award, which is for products and services that showed excellent marketing strategy and accurately captured consumer needs.

This award is not to be confused with the Nikkei Trendy Top 30 List which Tamagotchi Uni just earned spot 18 on in late 2023.

Tamagotchi Uni Lands 18th Spot on Nikkei Trendy’s 2023 Top 30 List

Each year Nikkei Trendy, a popular finance Japanese, posts the top 30 consumer hits list, as well as the Face of the Year. The list covers everything from applications, movies, foods, and more. This year ChatGPT won first place. The Tamagotchi Uni landed a spot on the list at number 18, which interestedly is down from last years spot of 13.

Nikkei Trendy touts that the Tamagotchi Uni now features Wi-Fi connectivity, and a new metaverse featured called the Tamaverse. Nikkei Trendy also mentions that the series has grown 138% compared to the same period last year. Seems like the Tamagotchi is selling well.

More details to come soon in the December 2023 issue of Nikkei Trendy. It also looks like the annual press event was held where Nikkei Trendy featured all 30 products, and of course there was a display of Tamagotchi Uni!
