It's done. There it is. The last chapter is Ciri and Geralt being very Ciri&Geralt again. I'm doubling down on the themes and with a sanctimonious last sentence.

First: Julien practically dragged Whisper through the halls of Greenhaven Castle.

Last: “I love you, too.”

First: Julien stepped up to the rail of the pavilion and watched Whisper scratch Fisk’s belly.

Last: Julien smiled.

3. until the Darkness takes us (Black Jewels - Anne Bishop, Daemon Sadi/Lucivar Yaslana)

First: Lucivar stands at the top of the tower outside SaDiablo Hall in Kaleer and looks at the stars.

Last: They’ve both lost so many people, but they have each other.

4. I saw you standing out (The Hollows - Kim Harrison, Jenks/Matalina)

First: Jenks flies across the garden behind the church to the corner where the thistles are planted.

Last: “OK, love,” he says and lets her lead him inside.

5. I was born by the devil (Black Jewels - Anne Bishop, Daemon Sadi/Lucivar Yaslana)

First: Lucivar is walking down the stairs of his family’s townhouse when the front door opens, and Daemon stumbles through.

Last: “Come on, then,” he says, pulling Lucivar out the door.

Vampire -  Favorite book/movie/song?

Soo many. Umm.

Book - Jane Eyre overall probably:)) Love anything spooky, gothic, romantic, etc. though.

Movie - Depends on the genre, it's so hard to pick an overall favorite! Howl's Moving Castle is a big one though, and love so many horror movies and period dramas!

Song - I don't really have a favorite song! My favorite song is more like an ever-growing list of favorites lol ;-; To name a few current faves, If You Have Ghosts/Roky Erickson, and Ex Mortis/Ice Nine Kills (Welcome to Horrorwood album in general is great! Love The Box, Assault & Batteries, The Shower Scene, Take Your Pick, Wurst Vacation, the whole album tbh lol) Also The World Spins/Julee Cruise and Push the Sky Away/Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Wyvern - What’s your favorite time period?

Umm I love Victorian & regency era aesthetic so probably that! 1800s-early 1900s in general I like. I wouldn't want to have lived in them but I like some of the literature and styles and such so:)) Maybe 60s/70s to some extent too!

Demon - If you could have a magical power, what would it be?

The Castle (Sandman)

Morpheus AKA The Lord of Dreams, in Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, has a rather unusual castle.  The castle changes it’s form.  This is possibly to fit the mood of the inhabitants of the castle.

The first time the castle appeared was in the 1970s when it was called Ghost Castle.  According to DC Wikia that is still the official title of The Castle.  The caretaker of the castle was Lucien AKA Mr. Raven. Later, in 1988 ,when Sandman was first published, Ghost Castle and Lucien along with two other DC horror anthology characters- Cain and Abel with their House of Mystery and House of Secrets- became part of The Sandman lore.   Lucien became Morpheus’ librarian while Cain and Abel took up residence within The Dreaming realm (With their houses able to occasionally and almost randomly appear in the waking world).   When the castle appears in the waking world it’s often in Transylvania. 

  In the second issue of Sandman Morpheus’ castle has taken a beat up yet blatantly more phallic appearance.

  In Season of Mists we learn that when Morpheus is feeling anti-social he moves the castle up on to a mountain.  This is not the last time we will see him place the castle on a mountain.  Here it has a more fantastical and less Earthly look.

A scene in Season of Mists shows the castle with a lake in front of it.

Later when Morpheus is sulking over his breakup with the witch Thessaly his castle has taken on a more Gothic appearance, almost resembling something out of a Hammer Horror movie or an old English manor house ala Jane Eyre.

When Morpheus agrees to help Delirium the castle takes on a more happy and fantasy / fairy tale style (Bavarian) appearance and is easily accessible (not on a mountain) meaning Morpheus is in a friendly and socialable mood.

At the start of The Kindly Ones storyline the castle has almost a fairy tale / Bavarian appearance but is now high on a mountain.  Morpheus has become antisocial.

Later in that same storyline the castle is still high on a mountain but bears a striking resemblance to the traditional Dracula castle AKA Poenari castle of Romania.

And it changed form slightly through the story, sometimes looking more imposing and other times looking Gothic and even Gothic Catholic church Cathedral-like, almost spiritual and brooding.

At the start of Sandman: Overture the castle took on yet another new look.  This time of a more traditional European castle, possibly Scottish design, similar to Wyvern castle of Disney’s Gargoyles.

In a flashback during Overture The Castle yet again takes on a phallic appearance, coincidentally while Morpheus is with a lover.

Why am I posting all of these?

1.  To prove a point to a friend who thought it only looked phallic in the 2nd issue because it was in ruins. (You wish.)

2.  To point out (in advance) that if they make a Sandman film or TV show then the castle can literally look like anything.  So please don’t complain if it doesn’t precisely match your favorite part of the story.  

Personally, I like it best when it looks like an authentic medieval European castle (Bavarian, Romanian, Scottish or English).  

Controversial opinion below:

I, personally, do not think slavish faithfulness is a good idea in regard to how the castle looks in Prelude and Nocturns (the early Sandman comics).  If it looks too phallic it could be distracting for casual viewers and take them out of the story, especially when it only looks like that maybe twice in the continuity but usually looks like an authentic European castle.

I honestly think it would be a bad idea to use the phallic castle design in a movie or TV show.  Even if the possible TV show is done by Stars or Showtime. There’s plenty of adult content already in Sandman without “Hehe penis and balls Castle” distracting viewers from an important scene.

28 - Three or so are short tweet fics but some are rather long so it averages out.

112,069 - woot, it has a 69 ;)

3. What fandoms do I write for?

Yes it's plural fandoms, even if barely: Most of it is of course The Witcher - but I just wrote a short OFMD fic right before the second season came and killed my love for it, and I wrote the first and only fic on Ao3 for the game Tails of Iron.

4. Top 5 fics by kudos:

Stray (167), The Gentleman will be removed from the situation (163)... - LOL, those are the latest and the first -, Petty Theft (100), Boxed (77) and Spelling it out (77)

5. Do I respond to comments?

Hell ya. I would probably ignore negative comments but never got one. To bot comments I respond by reporting them.

6. Fic I wrote with the angstiest ending:

Uh. I don't do angsty endings. I'm treating myself to happy endings. :) The angstiest *parts* has State of Mind but SPOILER they both survive killing each other. "Rings" has reportedly made someone cry! But it's just sad, really.

7. Fic with the happiest ending:

They really all have happy endings, everyone gets to come multiple times many of them are happy and even funny.

8. Do I get hate on fics?

Not specifically on fics, just generally on Tumblr for not shipping the One Correct™ ship.

9. Do I write smut?

LOL yeah :)

10. Do I write crossovers?

Not REALLY. Not as in universe1 characters meet universe2 characters. But - there's the Teletubbies fic, but that's just Emhyr's shroom trip. "Jane Eyre and Wyverns" is Emralt on a scaffolding of the Jane Eyre plot. "The Gentleman" starts out with the OFMD "run me through" scene and the OFMD fic is inspired by Jaws. If those count as crossovers then I do them often. (Also: Goncharov)

11. Have I ever had a fic stolen?

I don't know :'D Not that I know of.

12. Have I had a fic translated?

No.

13. Co-written a fic?

Melittele's knees, NO. There's no "Tim" in "team". I would be fretting about letting the other person down and then accidentally write everything myself.

The Witcher, mostly. Cyberpunk sequel of Broken Pieces is something I'd love to write, but for now I'm happy to just watch the movie in my head.

Blood Ties, Broken Pieces, I Will Find You, Found (hah), and a tie between The Ghost of You and Splinters.

Almost always. I have a few saved in the inbox that I hold close to my chest in moments of need. Talking to people in the comments is the biggest joy of sharing the fics.

Blood Ties, I guess? I'd like to think the endings of my fics fit into the witcherverse in spirit.
