The press conference
The locker room ("more important to be safe than look cool" which gets Roy's attention!)
The Boot Room breakdown
Strange Fan Interactions
Sad suitcase
Shutdown at Rom-Com Movie Night
Keeley & Roy following him
*Needs Mummy hugs* (ASAP!)
I want to talk about Jamie's wholeass depressive episode and the fascinating way he (fails to) process and cope with stuff and things because like? That press conference??? His sudden refusal to accept he's an important teammate who contributes a heck of a lot, saying his goal shouldn't have even counted?? Not wanting to take pictures with fans??? Saying "I hadn't even thought about that" when Keeley says his Dad is going to be at the game, even though it was clearly all he'd been thinking about??? THE SAD SUITCASE THING? god it was SO much I need 100 fanfics that are going to tackle this in a way even angstier than the show. immediately.

Wait...wait... Chill. Don’t Lose It. Not Yet.
This is a pic from next week’s Killing Eve (I think) and folks on social media are already in their feelings and losing their shit over the possibility of Eve playing slap-and-tickle with someone not named Villanelle---especially with a man. Three reasons I don’t think Jamie is going to be the knob Eve jumps on in S3 like Niko and Hugo before him. 1. It would subvert ALL the wish fulfillment of the game-changing events of “Meetings Have Biscuits.” The fandom would view Eve hooking up with Jamie as a sleazy cheat and I hope the KE writers are aware of this. Suzanne Heathcote said, “You see her orienting herself in a much more independent way. She is the one in charge of the boat. She's not struggling with that as much as we have seen in the past. In the second season, you really saw Eve overcompensating and trying to be in control, and you see what that got her. She was betrayed. She's continuing to become her own woman by being the owner of her decisions. I've really always tried to grow her in this way, in that this is a story of a woman who gains agency over herself, that she really wakes up to it." Trying a last fling to her old het life with someone she has no feelings for doesn’t sound like a woman gaining agency. That sounds like Eve being sentimental for seven minutes of missionary position sex. If she’s just awoken to the possibilities of what she could have, why go back to sleep with what she already had.?
2. Each and every time Eve had sex in Season 2, she was influenced by Villanelle. Without her soft assassin’s prodding and exciting Eve can’t truly be intimate with anyone else, and especially not a man. 3. There have been stories for the season that Eve tells someone she is attracted to Villanelle. The only persons she would likely reveal this to is Carolyn, Niko or Jamie. No one else would qualify. Jamie may make a move on Eve and she may even respond (nearly kissing Hugo flashback--ugh), but only briefly. Eve has a severe case of Obsessed with Villanelle. She thinks about her all the time and there’s no room in her head for anybody else. Especially not a dude. Before the buss on the bus, Eve might--emphasize--MIGHT have done Jamie just as a revenge fuck against Villanelle, but now? For whom? For what? I spoke the E&V kiss into existence and I’m going to do it again. Eve + Jamie=Nothing. The only “man” left for Eve Polastri is a woman.

Greta Thunberg and the fight for climate change.
1. "I don't care about being popular. I care about climate justice." Please comment on this quote by Greta. How does it differ from the priorities of many teens? Do you see any irony in how popular Greta has become worldwide?
I think this quote really shows why Greta has had such an impact since starting her climate strike. She is a rare exception to many teens today, using social media solely for educational purposes whereas many use their platforms for self promotion. Greta is exceptional and her passion has inspired young people all around the world. Her ability to speak clearly and eloquently is one of the many reasons she has been able to incite change and become the face of this movement. I believe it is ironic that she has risen to fame when it was only her goal to save the environment, but we are lucky to have someone like her who is so determined and outspoken leading this movement. Her not caring about popularity gives her the ability to speak out against ignorant politicians and withstand criticism.
2. Did you attend the #ClimateStrike just one year ago in Foley Square in NYC ? If yes, what was your experience first hand? If you tuned in virtually were you surprised how many people across the world were galvanized by her message?
I did not attend the climate strike but I kept myself up to date while it was happening through news articles and photos. I was pleasantly surprised how much of an impact Greta was able to have especially in a big city like New York. She has certainly inspired me to change aspects of my life that were harmful to the environment. Looking through the photos the one that struck me the most was “When leaders act like kids, the kids become the leaders.” This is something that Greta has said many times in her speeches. She wants to go to school, and she doesn't think kids should have to be taking charge. But since it is their future, and the people in charge aren't protecting it, they have to take it into their own hands.
3. Why do you think a girl with asperger's syndrome has inspired a generation of young people to rise up for climate?
I think one of the reasons Greta has inspired so many young people is that for so long there has been a stigma around mental illness and those diagnosed have been made to feel less than. Now, seeing Greta explain that her mental illness has helped her and been the reason she is able to tackle this problem so effectively has inspired young people struggling with mental illness realize that they are just as capable as anyone else. Also, as she states, her ability to see things in black and white has been a huge tool for her in understanding the urgency of our need to act, and I believe that the people who have struggled the most often are the strongest and most determined.
4. Do you think the pandemic has dampened or amplified the climate situation? How can we innovate beyond the limitations imposed by the pandemic to create new strategies for activism? Please provide specific examples.
I believe that the pandemic has had both positive and negative effects on the environment. For example the amount of fumes emitted by cars, busses, and airplanes has dropped significantly due to quarantine and travel bans which scientists predict could lower the amount of greenhouse gasses being put into the atmosphere. However some grocery stores have banned the use of reusable bags in order to prevent the spread of the virus and this has caused an increase in plastic waste. Starbucks and many other coffee stores refuse to accept reusable cups which also leads to an increase in waste production. However I believe there is hope that the good habits being picked up during the pandemic can continue when we reach the other side of it. Perhaps more people will be inspired to walk or bike to work after being cooped up in their homes for months on end. I believe this pandemic can unify us if we allow ourselves to be inspired by the positive changes we’ve made so far.
5. "...if a few girls can get headlines all over the world just by not going to school for a few weeks, imagine what we could do together if we wanted to." --Greta Thunberg, 2018 What are your thoughts on this quote?
This quote is one that really stood out to me when reading Greta’s book. I think it is true not only for climate change but with everything. When we are united we are so powerful. This has been proven during the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement. Thousands of people are marching everyday and we will continue to demand justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Elijah McClain and so many others. We have never had such a huge impact before and that is because we have never been as united as we are now. It is imperative that we keep this momentum going not only for BLM but for Climate Change and so many other issues.
6. Choose one favorite quote from the "Our House is on Fire" speech included in No One is Too Small to Make a Difference and comment. Why do you think this speech inspired so many memes? Find a meme to include on your blog.
This speech as a whole is brilliant, but the quote that spoke to me the most is, “...now is not the time for speaking politely or focusing on what we can or cannot say. Now is the time to speak clearly.” If a woman were to say the things that Donald Trump has said she would be chastised and ridiculed, yet somehow this man has acquired the most powerful position in America. With this quote Greta is denying the notion that women should watch what they say in order to make the men in the room feel better about themselves. She knows that what she is saying is essential and she will not back down for anyone.
7. “Greta Thunberg is the spark but we are the wildfire.”--Naomi Klein . Please comment. Has Greta's activism lit a fire inside you? What actions have you been inspired to take? How have your habits changed?
I find this statement to be incredibly true. Greta is constantly saying that we need to unite and create public awareness. She has certainly inspired me to change some of my habits. I have cut red meat out of my diet and try to always choose the veggie option when eating at restaurants. I have also been much more conscious when choosing my produce and shop at farmers markets whenever I can. Unfortunately due to covid many grocery stores don't allow reusable bags, but I always have them on hand and utilize plastic bag recycling centers.
8. "“We have a new wave of contention in society that’s being led by women. … And the youth climate movement is leading this generational shift." 46% of girls consider climate issues extremely important compared to 23% of boys. Why do you think this gender disparity exists? Why are girls stepping up to helm the movement?
I believe women are causing more of an impact because women have always had to work twice as hard to earn recognition. Whenever someone considers me weak and incapable based on my gender it lights a fire under me and makes me want to prove them wrong. I think a lot of women feel this way and it is so amazing that instead of feeling defeated we can rise up and accomplish more than we ever thought we could. I felt particularly inspired by the young activist Jamie Margolin who as well as co founding the youth climate action organization Zero Hour is a member of the LGBTQ+ community. She also sued the state of Washington for their inaction against climate change, particularly after the wildfires of 2017. Reading about women like Jamie inspires me to speak up about issues that I am passionate about and to examine the way my personal habits affect the environment.

The Benefactor (4.04)
Masterlist
The lights hurt my eyes when I finally woke up. I smiled at Noah who was sitting in one of the chairs across from my hospital bed. He was dozing and I didn’t want to wake him. I stood up slowly, my head was pounding like a bass drum but I could feel my body healing. I stumbled as I went to walk sending a plastic cup to the floor. Noah stirred at the noise. His eyes focused on me as I struggled to stay upright.
“Go back to bed.” He told me sleepily.
“I have a math test.” I protested reaching for the pile of clean clothes folded on the chair closest to me.
“Skip it.” He told me. I rolled my eyes at him.
“You and I both know I miss enough school as it is.” I told him motioning for him to leave so I could change. He huffed in annoyance before getting up.
“I’ll check you out and pull the car around. Meet me out front when you’re ready.” Noah told me before the door shut behind him.
I pulled the scratchy hospital gown off. I quickly slipped into my soft well worn jeans and pulled on a bra. My socks and shoes were next. I was just lacing up my boots when someone walked into my room. I looked up and met the wide startled eyes of Liam. Then I looked down and realised I wasn’t wearing a shirt. I wasn’t embarrassed due to my winding up naked a lot.
“Could you toss me my shirt?” I asked as it was sitting on the edge of the bed near him. He diverted his eyes and tossed it to me, remaining very conscientious about keeping his eyes away from my figure.
“It’s okay Liam.” I assured him with a slight snicker as I pulled the shirt down over my body. I flipped my hair through the neck and smiled at him when he finally looked at me again.
“I’m sorry. Melissa just told me this was your room. I don’t know why I didn’t think to knock.” Liam told me sheepishly.
“I already told you it was okay. Thank you for checking on me.” I told him, crossing the room and pulling him into a hug. That’s when the smell hit me. More like assaulted my senses. I pulled back to look at Liam. For the first time I realised he was walking just fine. I didn’t want to believe what my senses were telling me but there was no denying it. Scott had a lot of explaining to do.
-
“You bit him?!” I ran into the pack meeting enraged. They were gathered between the busses and all seemed surprised to see me show up.
“Jamie? What are you doing here? I thought you were still in the hospital. My dad was supposed to text me when he brought you home.” Stiles said as the pack looked between the two of us.
“Yeah well I asked him not to when one of my friends came to see me at the hospital. You want to know who it was? Because it sure as hell wasn’t any of you!” I yelled.
“Jamie…” Scott started on what I was sure was going to be a meaningful and heartfelt apology but I didn’t want to hear it.
“Save it. That’s not what’s pissing me off right now. Liam came to see me this morning. He wanted to make sure I was okay after that crazy thing attacked us last night.” I started to explain.
“Wendigo.” Lydia filled in for me unhelpfully.
“Whatever. He reeked Scott. He smelled like us. His leg was fine. What the hell did you do?” I asked my alpha.
“The Wendigo had him. He tried to throw him off the roof. My arms were pinned. It was the only way to save his life.” Scott explained.
“So what are we going to do. Tonight’s the full moon.” I reminded him.
“We need to get him to the lake house.” Stiles piped up.
“I’m not sharing my basement.” Malia told him.
“First, it’s my basement and my mom noticed how you tore it up last time.” Lydia scolded.
“Alright. She’s still learning.” Stiles defended.
“We’re going to use the boat house for Liam. It’s got support beams. We can chain him to one of them.” Scott told him.
“How are we going to get him out to the lake house if he doesn’t trust us?” Kira asked.
“I say if it keeps him from murdering someone, we just chloroform the little bastard and throw him in the lake.” Stiles said.
“I’m in.” Malia agreed.
“We’re not killing or kidnapping him.” Scott told Stiles.
“This isn’t his fault. If I remember correctly it was your egos that hurt his leg and put him in the hospital in the first place.” I reminded the boys.
“We need to be smart. Let's tell him there’s a party and invite him.” Lydia offered up as the perfect solution.
“Sorry, you’re going to ask out a freshman?” Stiles asked her.
“No. I’m done with teenage boys.” Lydia assured him. Stiles turned to me.
“No. I will go as support for the pack and to help Liam through his first full moon but I’m not manipulating his feelings.” I told Stiles with a low growl.
“Well if we’re going to be playing a trick on someone, let’s use the trickster.” Lydia supplied. We all turned to Kira.
“Who me? Not me. No way.” Kira protested.
“Yes you. You know what they call a female fox? A vixen.” Lydia assured her.
-
Scott picked me up just before it got dark. We made it to the lake house just before nightfall. Stiles, Malia and Lydia were already there. I hopped off the bike and tossed Scott my helmet.
“Something’s wrong.” Stiles told us as soon as the kickstand was down.
“I just talked to Kira. She’s on her way with Liam. She said it’s all going fine.” Scott told him.
“It’s not that. I have to tell you something. I asked around about Liam. I know why he got kicked out of his last school.” Stiles told Scott nervously.
“This is going to be bad isn’t it?” Scott asked picking up on the tone of Stiles voice.
“He kinda got into it with one of his teachers and kids got some serious anger issues.” Stiles told us.
“How serious?” I asked hoping he would just get to the point.
“Well that’s his teacher's car, after he took a crowbar to it.” Stiles said holding out his phone. I looked at the destruction, the words this is your fault were carved into the side.
“Look. We all have issues. Maybe Liam’s are a little worse but we’ve all needed each other's help dealing. That’s what we have to do for Liam. We don’t have a choice, he’s part of the pack. He’s Scotts beta.” I reminded them all. No one said a word as we headed inside to wait for Kira and Liam.
-
Liam’s face fell as soon as he walked through the door. I had advised against leaving the chains out on the table but no one had listened to me. He turned to leave but Kira was blocking the door.
“What the hell is this? Jamie why are you here?” Liam asked looking over us all.
“I’m sorry Liam. I know this seems nuts, but I’m here for you. I want to help you.” I tried to assure him.
“Think of it like an intervention. You have a problem Liam.” Stiles told him.
“And we’re the only ones that can help.” Scott added.
“Look, we’re not your average high schoolers. I’m a werewolf. So is Scott. Malia is a werecoyote. Lydia is a banshee, and Kira’s a kitsune.” I filled him in.
“What are you?” Liam asked Stiles.
“Uh, for a while I was possessed by an evil spirit. It was very evil.” Stiles filled him in. I shuddered at the thought of void.
“What are you now?” Liam asked.
“Better.” Stiles told him.
“Are those for me?” Liam asked nodding to the chains on the table.
“No, they’re for me.” Malia told him showing him her eyes. Liam looked startled.
“How did you do that?” He asked her in shock.
“You will learn. But first you need to get through the full moon.” Scott told him.
“The moon’s already out.” Liam pointed out.
“And you’re starting to feel something aren’t you?” I asked listening to his heartbeat.
“I feel like I’m surrounded by a bunch of psychotic nutjobs. You guys are out of your freaking minds! I don’t know how you did that eye thing and I don’t care!” Liam started shouting.
“Well if you thought that was crazy. Watch this.” I told him before stripping down to my underwear and transforming into a full wolf.
“What the hell?” Liam asked looking at me. Then his hands flew to his ears and he collapsed in front of me.
“What is it?” Scott asked as he and I rushed to Liam’s side.
“You don’t hear that?” Liam asked. Suddenly a car pulled up outside. There were more coming. I could hear it.
“Who did you tell?” Scott asked.
“Just my friend Mason. You said it was a party.” Liam looked to Kira.
“Who did Mason invite?” Stiles asked as Kira went to check the window.
“Everybody.” She told us. Liam’s claws were out and he was loosing it.
“The floors, get him off the floors.” She warned as he reared back and roared at her. Kira and Scott grabbed him and helped him out to the boat house. I followed close behind. The plan was I would stay in wolf form all night to be a better match to the new beta should something go wrong.
I propped both my paws onto Liam’s chest as Scott and Kira worked on chaining him up. Liam was growling and snarling at us wildey the moon taking over his mind. I was sent flying back when one of his arms came free. He pounced on Scott, but before he could tear into him Kira hit him over the head with an oar, knocking him out cold. Scott and Kira had a much easier time tying him up after that. I laid beside him curled against his side my large wolf head in his lap, watching out for anything that might hurt him. Liam may be dangerous now that he was a wolf, but he was also in danger and I wasn’t going to let anything happen to him if I could help it. He was part of the pack now, basically my little brother and it was my responsibility to look out for him.
I was dozing in his lap when I heard the music turn on. I opened my eyes briefly to see Kira and Scott slow dancing together. I let out a soft snort at the sickly sweet sight. I felt Liam stir underneath me. His breathing less regular as his heartbeat rose. Then he let out a growl. I scrambled to stand, letting out a yip to alert Kira and Scott to the growing threat.
“He can’t break out of those chains, can he?” Kira asked nervously.
“No. No, there’s no way he can be that strong.” Scott assured her just before Liam ripped through the chains and crashed through the window, running out into the night.
Scott and I were quick to run after him. He half ran half stumbled through the woods as his new supernatural senses overwhelmed him. Though he did have enough natural predator in him to turn and charge Scott. I bounded after the pair as they rolled down a hill.
I stood by as Liam tried to tear Scott apart. Scott was holding him off and trying to talk to him.
“This is your fault! This is all your fault!” Liam growled preparing to claw Scott’s face off. I made to charge him but before I could I heard the familiar whistle of an arrow flying through the air. I closed my eyes before it exploded. I heard Liam scream and before my eyes were open again he had run off. Chris was standing crossbow in hand just a couple yards away.
“How did you know?” Scott asked as he walked over to help Scott to his feet.
“I got your text. Hello Jamie.” Chris greeted me. I dipped my head in greeting.
“There’s a clearing just north of here. You two need to coral him there. The rest is taken care of.” Chris told him.
“What are you going to do?” Scott asked.
“He’s your beta Scott. The better question is what are you going to do?” Chris asked him.
“He won’t listen to me.” Scott told him.
“He will if you start using your own words.” Chris assured him. I heard Liam scream in the distance. Chris handed Scott the transmitter button and the two of us took of after Liam.
We found him kneeling in a circle of transmitters. He was holding his ears as he screamed out in pain. I looked up at Scott as he pressed the button turning of the transmitters. Liam was no longer fully shifted, but Scott still approached carefully. I was close behind him.
“What’s happening to me?” Liam asked Scott desperately. My heart went out to him.
“The same thing that happened to me.” Scott told him.
“They can’t know about this. My mom, my stepdad. I can’t do this to them again.” Liam whimpered.
“What do you mean again?” Scott asked, although he and I both knew what he was referring to.
“I got kicked out of school, and I deserved it. The way they looked at me when they saw what I did to that car.” Liam was crying now.
“Liam, it’s okay.” Scott tried to reassure him.
“They can’t see me like this. Like… like.” Liam tried to say.
“Like a monster?” Scott supplied. Liam pinched his eyes closed and nodded sadly. Scott rose to his feet.
“You’re not a monster.” Scott assured him. Liam looked up at Scott.
“You’re a werewolf. Like me.” Scott told him, his eyes glowing a bright alpha red. Liam finally stopped crying, his body done shaking and I finally had hope that we could really do this.

I love this little moment because Man City was Jamie's entire football life. He came up through their youth program, he was a legacy player for them. He's from Manchester.
Of course he had connections to other players. Because Jamie can also be physically tactile with people when he's comfortable around them. And obviously with O'Gara its a very meaningful gesture as former teammates.
