Play Me a Song
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: E Warnings: None pairing: Drift X Jamie (OC) Description: Drift gets Jamie to play piano for him.
Day 28; @fluffyfebruary: shy @fluffbruary: reward | shelter | piano
The dark clouds closed in faster than Drift thought. The mech rushes back towards the house, displeased about being drenched in rain again. Once Drift opens the door, he's greeted by the music from a piano. Someone is pressing the keys but not to play a song. Which is a clue who's at the piano.
Three toddlers laugh as they press the keys. Cogman is annoyed the three girls are allowed near the piano. The two girls' mother sits by the three on a chair. "Ok, girls, that's enough," the woman says. The three sulk as they are taken out of the room. "Little kids shouldn't be near a piano," Cogman complains, "where'd you go?" Cogman asks, seeing Drift is soaked. "A walk, unaware it was going to rain," Jamie walks into the room, "you know how to play piano. Play us a song, please?" "N-no." Drift and Cogman don't understand why Jamie is shy about playing the piano. They know how well she can play piano and other instruments. Cogman didn't think Drift would encourage Jamie rather than suggest doing something else. Uncertain if using the biscotti cookies Cogman made as a reward is wise. He has to trust that Drift knows what he's doing. The silver human-sized mech sits on the chair and listens to Jamie play a song. He suspects Drift knows what the song is from his smile and is happy to hear Jamie play piano. After the one song, Drift takes Jamie to the kitchen to get biscotti as promised. Praising her as they leave the room.

Necessary
@themerrywhumpofmay: under the table @mediwhumpmay: needle phobia
*Writing a little backward to post in order of days. Day 8 begins a day of health exams for the medics to do. This is one of them.* The condition Jamie has is made up.
"Jamie is one of the next three," Jolt tells the other two medics. "You say that like she's a challenge," Jasmine comments. "Up until I need to draw blood, she's fine. You know why I need to get a blood sample from her. Even if I could prick her finger and use that small amount, she'll put up a fight."
To make matters worse, Jamie's guardians, Crosshairs and Drift, must work today. Drift is particularly not pleased that Prowl wouldn't let him be twenty minutes late, and even the Autobots he works with argued it would be fine. The three medics know he does not like how Jamie will fight the medics, and it's not just shoving the medics away.   "It's interesting how a warrior can be terrified of needles. Especially when your other fearful patient is Sunstreaker; with the life he and Sideswipe had, you'd think he wouldn't be terrified of needles," Drift comments and leaves.
Ratchet says nothing about drawing blood when he walks into the room. The exam went as he thought; he checked everything he needed, which didn't require Jamie to change. The second he said 'draw blood,' Jamie got anxious; he tries to keep her calm, which results in him being shoved back to the counters. The other two medics are in their offices when they see Jamie run past them.
Sunstreaker walks down the hall to the training room, watching the medics leave the medbay. He didn't think Ratchet would tell him what was going on, and he's still determining whether it's Ratchet's way of telling him he's to help. If I didn't see her run by me, then there are only two places she could be, but only one is a good hiding place. Sunstreaker thinks and goes into the confidence room.
The room isn't used often, and Sunstreaker can see that the next meeting isn't scheduled for another week; the last meeting was two months ago. With how the chairs are, he sees Jamie once he gets on the floor and moves a couple of chairs. "Why do you have the medics panicking?" He asks. Once Jamie said 'health exam,' he understood the problem, "hiding here isn't helping. Come on." Jamie doesn't move back to get away from Sunstreaker, who thought Jamie would put up a fight.
"...I need to monitor the chemical level," Ratchet explains, "be happy I can get a blood sample every six months." The two mechs hate how Jamie is getting anxious. Sunstreaker knows holding Jamie while Ratchet does what he needs won't help much, but he knows the risk if he tells Ratchet to forget about the blood sample.
Sunstreaker is hoping loosely restraining js enough. Both mechs hate how Jamie is crying, and Sunstreaker thought that's all the two would deal with until Jamie passed out just as Ratchet finished. "Frag, that's never happened before," Ratchet worries, "but she should be ok. Just make sure she drinks water when she wakes up." Ratchet caps the vial and leaves the room. Sunstreaker knows Ratchet isn't more worried about testing the blood sample than how Jamie is unconscious. Sideswipe, are you done teaching your class? Sunstreaker asks through the bond. Jamie needs cheering up. Sunstreaker didn't think Sideswipe would worry and ask questions. He tells Sideswipe he'll explain in hopefully ten minutes. Jamie wakes up as the conversation ends. "You're ok. Here drink some water,' Sunstreaker hands her his water bottle, "once Ratchet says we can leave, we'll meet Sideswipe in the lounge room."
Sideswipe thought he could multitask by playing video games with Jamie and talking to Sunstreaker through their bond so Jamie doesn't hear them, but he loses the race to Jamie within five minutes, which Jamie thinks is funny.
Later that day, Sunstreaker asks Ratchet how necessary a blood sample is. "It's not so much to detect a flare-up," Ratchet explains, "that's impossible. There's an interesting interaction between Saiyan blood and the chemical, and it's hard to explain in simple terms. It's been working like a medication to limit the severe flare-ups. So other methods, like a urine test, won't work. Sunstreaker regrets figuring it out. "Have you researched Energon helping her?" "No, with how different Jamie is from other humans, I worry there will be consequences that I won't be able to discover before a transfusion. The obvious is the Saiyan blood, and there's too much unknown that I won't be able to get answers for. I know it's been eleven years since I've gotten a blood sample from her, and I am curious if this has been kept up, but the results weren't saved. Even if the others didn't keep up this schedule, I'd rather get back to it." Sunstreaker understands why and doesn't argue. He doesn't think he'll be able to understand how Saiyan blood works like medication. He only hopes Ratchet figures out a cure soon.

Unresponsive
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: T Warning: None Pairing: Drixt X Jamie Description: Drift tries to leave Jamie alone but can't. He and Crosshairs find her unresponsive. Crosshairs points out blue lips.
@febuwhump Day 21; unresponsive
Drift runs after Jamie down the hall before Crosshairs stops him. “Leave her alone for a while,” Crosshairs tells him. “She’ll be safe,” Prowl adds, “you know there are few places without security cameras, and our system can detect if she opens a portal.” But not if she uses instant transmission. Drift worries. She can get into the weapons room even if the door is locked. Drift doesn’t tell the mechs what he caught Jamie doing before they saw her run past them.
Jamie runs down the seldom-used hallway. She feels like she ran for hours. She sits on the floor by the wall, feeling herself getting weaker. Jamie sometimes can feel the chemical in her blood rising and ignores it, but she worries this time; she somehow noticed nothing when she should have. Worried this time, the flare-up is moderate. Jamie has questioned why Ratchet doesn’t say critical and the severe flare-up is life threatening? As that’s what happens. Jamie being away from friends, even while still in the base, is dangerous right now. Jamie tries to get up, panicking that she can’t. Hating that she argued with Drift before running off.
Drift struggles to give Jamie space. Crosshairs hates seeing his friend antsy. As much as he worries about her, this is not like him. Crosshairs worries. “I have to find her.” Drift rushes out of the room, ignoring Crosshairs yelling his name. He knows Crosshairs will follow him.
Drift runs down the hall towards the weapons room, which worries Crosshairs. Worry turns to horror as the two see Jamie on the floor. “Jamie!” Drift yells and gets on his knees next to her, checking for injury even with the lack of blood on the floor. “Drift,” Crosshairs points to Jamie’s blue lips. Drift checks for a pulse. “It’s weak, come on.” Drift picks up Jamie and runs down the hall.

Bees
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: E Warning: None Pairing: Drift X Jamie (OC) Description: Jamie is attacked by bees. @febuwhump Day 9; bees
“It’s nice not to use our holoforms,” Inferno comments. He stands next to the deck, talking to Crosshairs and Drift, who are using their holoforms, sitting at the table, “I mean here. I know it’s a choice in our dimension.” “It is nice to not worry about being discovered, though we’re usually using our holoforms,” Drift adds, “it’s easier to be with Jamie while we’re—.” Screaming interrupts Drift. The three see Jamie running towards the base. “Frag, bees,” Inferno tells them, “I’ll spray them. You two get her inside.” This is not what I had in mind for a good reason to use my bipedal form. Inferno thinks as he aims his arm cannon towards the bees. He sprays fire extinguisher foam at the enraged insects without hitting his friends. “Got her,” he hears Drift. Inferno sprays before the insects sting Crosshairs and Drift. He watches his friends rush upstairs and into the base. Getting a glimpse of how terrified Jamie is. Once the three are safe inside, Inferno stops spraying the insects. The swarm surrounds him.
While he’s certain he and Drift can care for Jamie, Crosshairs alerts Ratchet. Aware he’ll come to the dimension.
He walks into the medbay, seeing how frightened Jamie is. She refuses to let Drift lie her on the bed. Bee stings seen on Jamie’s arms. What caused the bees to attack her? Crosshairs questions. “You’re ok. I need to take care of the stings.” Ratchet’s holoform walks in, seeing the situation. Crosshairs leaves with him to tell him what happened.
Inferno’s holoform walks into the base as Ratchet closes the door to the medbay. “The bees were pissed,” Inferno tells the two mechs, “they gave up after trying to sting my bipedal form.” Is she ok?” “Jamie won’t let Drift take care of the bee stings,” Crosshairs tells him. “Even though Jamie is a warrior, the sudden attack of bees can frighten anyone. Add the pain of multiple Bee stings,” Ratchet explains, “she’ll be fine. Just itchy for a few days.”
Jamie finally lets Drift lie her on a bed and take all but her underwear and bra off. He sees a few red spots on her abdomen, but most of the stings are on her arms. He carefully inspects each sting to ensure there are no stingers left behind and cleans the stings. A few minutes pass before someone is knocking. “I thought new clothes would be good,” Crosshairs explains. “Thanks. I’m almost done taking care of the stings.” Drift takes the clothes and closes the door. No one is going to like hearing about her fifteen stings. Drift thinks as he gets the rest of the supplies he needs. Jamie is quiet as Drift sits by the bed. “Almost done. I’m going to put hydrocortisone cream on the spots you were stung. Crosshairs brought new clothes,” Drift explains. I also hope to get you to take a nap. Drift thinks as he starts applying the cream. I think that’ll help you. At least we can relax by watching TV.
Ratchet had left by the time Drift walks out of the medbay, carrying Jamie. Inferno couldn’t leave without seeing Jamie is doing ok. He’s told he can stay as Drift sits on the couch, with Jamie on his lap. Crosshairs shows Drift he made him and Jamie tea. Crosshairs and Inferno sit on the couch and watch TV with their friends. The three mechs still don’t know how Jamie ended up getting chased by bees, but they won’t ask.

Day 28.1; Sick of The Bullies
Fandom; transformers Characters: Crosshairs, Drift, Jamie (OC), Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, femme soldier Rating: T Description; Sunstreaker deals with yet another soldier targeting Jamie.
Angstober; face the consequences Whumpober; bloody knife AI-lesstober; "the easy way or the hard way."
Sunstreaker walks down the hall, hearing a femme soldier yelling. With all his time on Earth and around the human soldiers, Sunstreaker guesses who's being yelled at. Hating he's right as he looks down the hallway. "…you really are trash. How the hell are you allowed here? How are the Autobots your friends? Especially that stupid green one and samurai-looking one. How can he —." The femme is shoved into the wall. "I don't care if you're a femme! I'm sick of you fleshies attacking her!" Sunstreaker shoves her onto the floor, "get lost!" The femme runs away. While Sunstreaker knows it's better, he hates hearing Jamie cry as he picks her up. What else did that glitch say? Sunstreaker worries. Sideswipe, I need you to get Crosshairs and Drift. I don't know if you'll be enough this time. Sunstreaker says through the bond. Again? And that bad? Frag. Sideswipe worries. I'll be talking to Lennox and Optimus. Sunstreaker takes Jamie to her room.
Within five minutes, the three mechs rush into the room. Drift takes Jamie from Crosshairs. Jamie is no longer crying but is clearly still upset. Sideswipe knows Sunstreaker will deal with the soldier, and at this point, he won't even stop him.
Sunstreaker watches the femme walk down the hall. He runs behind her and grabs her. Covering her mouth before she can scream. He forces her down the hall to a room no one uses: his once-abandoned torture room. Sunstreaker hates hating he's using the room again, and this femme isn't the first victim. He shoves the femme into the room, walks in, and closes the door before turning on the light. The femme feels like she's in a horror movie. "I'm sick of you fleshies attacking Jamie and Lily!" Sunstreaker rages, "we can do this the easy way or the hard way." "I'm sorry, I—." "Will be facing the consequences! The question is, should we do this the easy way or the hard way? Well, it's more like the easy way or the fun way, and I pick the fun way.
Sideswipe knows what his brother is doing. He hates how, at this point, he doesn't want to stop him. Reporting the bullying to Lennox, who'd talk to the soldier, is not enough. Sunstreaker tried to warn the soldiers, but nothing seemed to get through to them. Both brothers aren't surprised knowing what Jamie deals with in her dimension.
Sunstreaker stares at the bloody knife, not bothered he killed a human. He lost track of how many he's killed since coming to Earth fourteen years ago. Now, he only kills those who target his human friends. Sunstreaker takes care of the body and the mess.
Sunstreaker finds Sideswipe is back in their room. He's told Jamie fell asleep. "I hate how all you can do to help her is deal with the problem afterward," Sideswipe sighs, "she didn't want to play video games." They end up having the same conversation with the same conclusion that all they can do is help keep Jamie safe, and like everyone else, they hate it.

Day 26.2 A Not so Relaxing Party
Fandom; transformers Characters: Crosshairs, Drift, Jamie (OC), Ironhide, Hound, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Lily (OC) Rating: T Description; A Halloween party is a time for rest, except for Drift's anxiety.
OC-tober; taking time to rest Flufftober; outdoor event, pumpkin
A few days passed since Jamie ran off and suffered hypothermia. Vivian decided to have a Halloween party, and happy planning a few days in advanced worked in her favor. "I know this normally wouldn't work, but—" Vivian explains to Optimus. "It's ok, Vivian. We were planning a Halloween party for this weekend. Now there are two parties as only some people want to come here. Not all soldiers are used to walking through the groundbridge. This will likely become only Jamie's friends coming here, but that would be wise now." Optimus returns to the base using the groundbridge. Hoping to get a list of who wants to go to the Yeagers property for a Halloween party.
Vivian walks into the kitchen, seeing Drift try to get Jamie to eat. "She was eating fine a few days ago," Cogman whispers. "I hate how her mental health is. Not being able to help her," Vivian sighs, "I don't think this party will do much for her, but I hope this helps her a little." "I hate how I've watched humans treat mental health. Perhaps it was foolish to think Jamie is from a different dimension so things would be better." "And they've been here for a month. I hate how Crosshairs is right. At this point, mental damage is beyond repair."
For many Autobots, the Halloween party is a time to rest. Most want to see Jamie but worry about her from what they've been told about the past month. They all know they're now repeating the same conversation that ends in not knowing how to help Jamie, but this has become helpful venting. "…so I think we should keep this limited to Lightning and the terror twins," Hound concludes. The others agree but add that Ratchet and Rung should go, not just for the party. "No, we'll go there after the party," Rung insists, "but you all know there's not much I can do? Not even for Crosshairs and Drift." Rung can't hide how disappointed he is. Sunstreaker believes it'll be fine if Lily is part of the group.
Drift sits in his meditation room, looking through photos from ten years ago. Even while everyone was in hiding, Jamie was happier than she is now. I can't believe it. Drift sighs. I wouldn't want her this unhappy while we were in hiding, but she shouldn't be getting more depressed as the years ago by. Drift feels arms wrap around his waist. Crosshairs says nothing as he rests his head on Drift's shoulder, seeing what Drift is looking at. I can't believe it. Crosshairs thinks, seeing a couple of the pictures. Drift puts his phone away, and the two sit quietly. Tired of the same conversation with nothing else to add. Not knowing what to do to help Jamie. They sit in the quiet room for twenty minutes before deciding they had enough of the silence.
The rest of the day is the same as always. Which is both good and bad to Jamie's friends. Crosshairs and Drift are happy that Jamie goes to sleep without an issue. Crosshairs worries about Drift's nightmares that have yet to stop and if Jamie will end up having repeat nightmares more often.
Even with the small group, Vivian sticks to her plans and has the party set up. The only difference is the amount of food on the buffet table. She laughs, hearing Sunstreaker already telling Sideswipe to stay away from the candy. They didn't think Ironhide and Hound would be walking through the groundbridge. "Uh, yeah. I know I'm the one who said limit who's here, but —" Ironhide begins. "We know," Sunstreaker says, "we all worry about her, and we've been hearing about how bad she's been doing. I think we reached our limit for hearing how Jamie is doing and need to see her." "We're still taking time off from our duties at the base," Hound argues, "I'm going to enjoy the hot tub for a while." He goes into the house. The terror twins and Lily follow, but to find Jamie and her guardians. Ironhide stays behind to talk to Vivian.
The three find their friends in the kitchen. Which means they've seen Hound. The friends decide to go outside and carve the pumpkins they got.
They find Ironhide sitting on a chair on the patio. "Good, you can make sure he doesn't eat all the candy," Sunstreaker says, pointing to Sideswipe. The others laugh. They head out into the yard.
The four mechs take out their pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. Drift and Sunstreaker take out their charge's pumpkins. Sunstreaker also takes out tools for carving. Cogman brings over a large bowl. "I'm not letting pumpkin crap all over the yard," he argues and walks away. "But it's actually good food for birds and squirrels," Drift whispers, "put the guts in the bowl, and we'll spread it out later." Jamie doesn't even bother trying to get one of the knives on the ground. Knowing how much she terrified her guardians the past month. Drift doesn't worry about Jamie using knives to eat, but the knives Sunstreaker took out to carve the pumpkins worry him. He hates how he doesn't think she'll be safe while with friends.
Ten minutes pass before a femme approaches the group. "Hey," she says, "sorry, the three little ones wanted me to play games with them." "And here I thought you had a boyfriend you didn't want to tell me about, Lightning," Crosshairs jokes. The others laugh, "Come on, Drift, let's get drinks." Drift goes with Crosshairs. The others know he doesn't mean alcohol.
Crosshairs skips asking what's troubling Drift and gets right to trying to get Drift to relax. Neither know Ironhide is watching. Ironhide hates how terrified Drift is, and he knows Crosshairs is the same but hides it. Optimus is not going to like hearing this. Ironhide thinks. I hate seeing this. They shouldn't be terrified to lose Jamie off the battlefield. Even with her condition. I know that terrifies them, but they wouldn't be like this. All because of the knives they're using for pumpkin carving. Within a few minutes, Drift is calm. They get the drinks Crosshairs said they'd get, but both believe they won't be able to hide why they took so long. "So much for a relaxing day," Ironhide hears Hound. "This is bad regardless of the Autobot, but Drift's personality has completely changed again." "I think it's more like he goes through periods of being terrified, but with how Jamie's mental health has been and after what she did, this is a long period of being terrified." "How long before Crosshairs falls apart? So much for a relaxing day."
