Is Warner Bros. Studio Doomed?
Leslie Grace's Batgirl film was axed, and it was the ultimate gut-punch for DC fans. However, that wasn't the only major disaster that hit the studio this year. When AT&T purchased WBD Many believed that Kevin Tsujihara would be the man to lead it into the streaming age. However, he's been through one of the worst years at the studio. Doom Movie Loses Its Home A film based off the Doom video game franchise has been in development, and it looks like that a sequel is on the way. The initial film was so bad that it cost the studio the prestigious Doom Tour, one of the most popular of their attractions. The Doom film is a paint-by-numbers action flick that features some of the bloodiest violence you'll ever see on the screen. The film tries to replicate the blood and violence of the games, however it does not have the depth that was what made these elements so memorable. Karl Urban starred in the Doom film as John Grimm. He was the leader of an elite special forces unit sent to Prague to look into a mysterious structure. It featured Lorenzo di Bonaventura and John Wells producing, with music video director Enda McCallion as the director. The film was scheduled to be shot in the winter of 2004 and 2005, before it was released on August 5, 2005. The film was subsequently panned by critics, and it failed at the box office. James Gunn and Dana Safran take over as DC's new Head Hosts There's a lot Gunn and Safran have to accomplish, from rearranging several DC projects into coherent films to developing a comprehensive plan to ensure that the studio is able to be able to compete consistently with Marvel. Gunn and Safran will need to do their best to create a separation between the DC universes that frequently clash. They'll also need ensure that they deliver top films to their audiences. Gunn has been the director of a number of DC films, including the recent Suicide Squad reboot and HBO Max's Peacemaker, while Safran has produced those in addition to the Joker movie. The Safran Company also shares an initial look deal with Safran, which is the reason they were considered serious contenders for Zaslav's replacement for Hamada. The two will be working on a plan that's more similar to Pixar, with filmmakers also serving as directors. This isn't an entirely new idea in the TV world, but it's never used before in the live action film industry. Rooster Teeth Disputes After two decades of success and controversy Rooster Teeth appears to be going under. The Austin, Texas based gaming and animation studio renowned for its games, such as Achievement Hunter, as well as animated series like Red vs Blue and RWBY Recently, it was accused of creating a hostile workplace environment that is exploitation of employees. Former employee Kdin Jenzen, who used the pronouns they/they wrote in a blog that they had been subjected to homophobia and sexism as as other forms of abuse when working for the company. Jenzen's treatment was said to have been worse when she was outed in 2016 as trans. Jenzen says they were subjected to a culture that was based on underpaying and lack of respect since their pay was significantly lower than the industry norm. Rooster Teeth has since released an apology for the "disgusting unacceptable, inhumane, and inhumane treatment" Jenzen claims to have received. The company also pledged to resolve its problems by forming business resource groups to target marginalized communities and enhancing management training. The Messiest Year is 2022.

A new YouGov survey has found that a lot of Americans think 2022 has been an awful or horrible year. And that's probably because of all the blunders at Warner Bros. DC the division of the company, known as the DC division, seems to be in constant turmoil. Studio was once a leader in the genre of superheroes, but it is now a string of misfires. The company's decision to rescind Leslie Grace’s Batgirl film was the most recent setback. The film was said to be ready for production and had even had test screenings. But the film was canceled without explanation for the fans who had been waiting forever. Another major mess involved Rocksteady the gaming studio behind the Batman: Arkham series. According to reports, the studio compelled engineers to create multiplayer games in order to meet a deadline. This led to morale issues within the company. According to reports that the team is planning to switch to single-player games. This might aid in their recovery. This won't be an easy journey. Video embeds anchors:

On October 2, 1959, the most iconic of the sci-fi/horror/fantasy TV anthology series premiered. The Twilight Zone was created and narrated by Rod Serling who was looking for a vehicle to address social ills and controversial ideas with less interference from sponsors. The first episode "Where Is Everybody?" probably was very economical as, until the end, only featured one actor and utilized existing sets. While it took a while to find an audience, eventually it would inspire other like anthology series and made quite an impact. The show itself was relaunched in 1985, 2002, and 2019 as well as a tragic film version in 1983. TV guide ranked the episode "Serve Man" number 11 and "It's a Good Life" 31 on 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time. TV Guide also ranked it the 2nd Greatest Sci-Fi show, the 4th Greatest Drama, and 5th Greatest Show of All Time. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it the 7th Greatest Show of All Time. The show won two Emmys for Outstanding Writing in a Dramatic Series and one golden globe for Best Director or Producer.

New York (CNN)Among the many guests who had their pictures taken with President Donald Trump at the White House's annual Hanukkah party last year were two Soviet-born businessmen from Florida, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman.
In the picture, which Parnas posted on social media, he and Fruman are seen smiling alongside Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and Rudy Giuliani, the President's personal lawyer. At one point during the party that night, Parnas and Fruman slipped out of a large reception room packed with hundreds of Trump donors to have a private meeting with the President and Giuliani, according to two acquaintances in whom Parnas confided right after the meeting.Word of the encounter in the White House last December, which has not been previously reported, is further indication that Trump knew Parnas and Fruman, despite Trump publicly stating that he did not on the day after the two men
were arrested
at Dulles International Airport last month.
Eventually, according to what Parnas told his confidants, the topic turned to Ukraine that night. According to those two confidants, Parnas said that "the big guy," as he sometimes referred to the President in conversation, talked about tasking him and Fruman with what Parnas described as "a secret mission" to pressure the Ukrainian government to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter. "James Bond mission"In the days immediately following the meeting, Parnas insinuated to the two people he confided in that he clearly believed he'd been given a special assignment by the President; like some sort of "James Bond mission," according to one of the people. To Parnas, the chain of command was clear: Giuliani would issue the President's directives while Parnas, who speaks fluent Russian, would be an on-the-ground investigator alongside Fruman, who has numerous business contacts in Ukraine. "Parnas viewed the assignment as a great crusade," says one of the people in whom Parnas confided. "He believed he was doing the right thing for Trump." The White House did not respond to repeated requests for comment to a series of questions regarding the meeting and Trump's relationship with Parnas and Fruman.Giuliani, through his lawyer, Robert Costello, denies that any private meeting took place that night at the White House, saying it was a mere handshake and photo opportunity. Costello also rejects Parnas' claims of being put on a "James Bond" style mission, saying that Parnas is "no Sean Connery," and that he suffers from "delusions of grandeur."Joseph A. Bondy, a lawyer for Parnas, told CNN, "Mr. Parnas at all times believed that he was acting only on behalf of the President, as directed by his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and never on behalf of any Ukrainian officials." A lawyer for Fruman declined to comment for this article.
Giuliani's journey to the center of Trump's impeachment battle started with a phone call in 2018
In the past, Giuliani has been circumspect about how he
became associated with Parnas
and Fruman. In previous conversations with CNN, Giuliani has refused to identify his contact, saying simply that a "well-known investigator" connected him with Parnas.Ken McCallion, a former federal prosecutor with numerous high-level clients in Ukraine, including former and current government officials, told CNN that he's heard a similar story about the Hanukkah party encounter. Parnas told some of McCallion's clients and contacts in Ukraine about the encounter. "Parnas told everyone in Ukraine about the White House meeting. He was adamant he was 'their guy' -- that they chose him to be their ambassador in Ukraine," McCallion said. And in February this year, according to a
report
in the Wall Street Journal, Parnas and Fruman met with the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and then Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko. During that meeting, they extended Poroshenko an invitation for a State dinner at the White House, if he would commit to publicly opening investigations in Ukraine. The December meeting at the White House is not the first report of Parnas and the President discussing Ukraine. The Washington Post has
reported
that in April 2018 at a small fundraising dinner in a suite at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, Parnas told Trump that the US ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, was unfriendly to him and his interests. Trump, according to the Post report, which cited people familiar with Parnas' account of the event, suggested that Yovanovitch should be fired.A year later in May 2019, Yovanovitch was recalled from her post.Another close encounterA separate encounter -- also not previously disclosed -- between Parnas and the President could provide further evidence that Parnas and Trump knew each other. In August 2018, months before the White House Hanukkah party, Trump traveled to upstate New York to attend a fundraiser for then- Republican congresswoman Claudia Tenney. Among the handful of wealthy donors in attendance was Parnas. Photos viewed by CNN provided by two of the attendees feature Parnas mingling with people and having his picture taken alongside Trump. Both attendees said they got the impression that Trump and Parnas knew each other. During a Q-and-A session, Trump called Parnas by his first name, though they did have nameplates in front of them. One of the sources said Parnas seemed quite proud of his interaction with Trump.

— Tim Ryan (@Timothy_F_Ryan) May 31, 2019
And it’s probably the biggest crop of new partners and principals in the firm’s history. Except for 2017, the size of each class has grown every year since we started covering partner and principal promotions in 2010: 233 in 2018, 212 in 2017, 226 in 2016 class, 201 in 2015, 180 in 2014, 157 in 2013, 165 in 2012, 136 in 2011, and 83 in 2010.
Here’s a look at PwC’s class of 2019 by the numbers:
131: The number of new partners; there are 118 new principals.
86: The number of new partners and principals in advisory, the most of any service line, followed by 79 in assurance, 78 in tax, and six in internal firm services.
72: The number of new partners and principals who are women, or 29% of the class of 2019.
42: The number of new partners and principals in New York City, the most of any location, followed by 19 in Chicago, 18 in Boston, 15 in Dallas, and 14 in McLean, VA.
9: The number of new partners and principals with the first name of Brian or Bryan.
2: The number of new partners and principals with the last name of González, Kennedy, O’Connor, Schmitt, or Stark.
