I genuinely wonder if during the first meeting between them, did Mary think Kenway was an actual assassin? One she didn't know? Or was she looking for Walpole and was thrown off because Kenway isn't Walpole?

I'm just wondering because the first time she seems interested and friendly towards Edward, the second time they meet she's definitely a bit more sharp towards him. Not mean, just with a bit of an edge that wasn't there in their first meeting.

Either way. Mary and Edward's relationship is my favorite in the franchise.
