deeply perplexed by the netflix three body problem adaptation because in isolation it's a great show. great cinematography & i like the characters so far (im only a quarter way through but yknow. so far). but the book is just a whole different beast man. i miss the detailed science infodumps. I wish it was not so anglicized. wheres wang miao. WHO THE FUCK IS CLARENCE!!

(honestly though? i expected worse in that area. i can definitely see why the characters were split/added in and i do like most of them! it just pisses me off that the majority arent chinese.)

i think as i watch the rest i will just treat it as a different species of thing from the book, and i will be posting to reflect that. i have a feeling i will maximize my enjoyment that way
