GHL!JK
you know alina can handle herself. her patience and confidence are something you’ve always admired about her because you’ve never seen her lose her cool. to see her angrily walking up the hall to the dorm room with eunwoo desperately chasing after her makes you both worried and curious. this time, jungkook’s touch does little to draw your focus back because the only thing going through your mind is whether or not alina is okay. even if it was ‘just some stupid argument,’ he upset her, and if it were you, alina wouldn’t hesitate to be by your side. thus, why shouldn’t you?
“i—,” you flinch when you hear alina slam the door in eunwoo’s face. he desperately knocks on the door, begging her to give him a chance to apologize, but she doesn’t say anything. “i should go check on her” you say, slipping further and further away from jungkook’s grip and back to alina. jungkook can tell your focus has completely shifted, and he hates how quickly you drop him for your friend’s drama. he plays it off like he understands, but truthfully, he’s fuming.
“goodbye jungkook” you say sweetly as you head in the direction of your room. you push past eunwoo and shut the door in his face, too, before heading to the bedroom.
*knock knock*
“hey lee, can i come in?”
~đŸ«§
Jungkook is still staring at the door when he hears Eunwoo’s frustrated footsteps.
FUCK. ALINA.
He doesn’t need to look to know his best friend is pissed. He can feel the tension in the air, thick and heavy, as Eunwoo strides over to him.
“Seriously?” Eunwoo starts, voice laced with irritation. “Did you really have to let that happen? I was this close to getting Alina to hear me out, and then your girl—” He cuts himself off with a sharp exhale, running a hand through his hair. “She just had to intervene, didn’t she?”
What the fuck is he saying.
Jungkook’s eyes flick to him, and his jaw tightens. His blood starts to boil, not just from Eunwoo’s words but from the fact that he’s acting like he has the right to be mad at him.
“You’re blaming yn now?” Jungkook mutters, his voice low, his fists clenched by his sides. He doesn’t want to argue, not here, not now, but it’s hard to hold back.
Eunwoo scoffs, rolling his eyes. “I’m not blaming her. I’m just saying, she didn’t need to get involved.”
Jungkook steps closer to him, his gaze hardening. “You know what? Alina’s not some fragile princess, Eunwoo. She’s got her own problems, and I don’t see why you’re so bent out of shape because she’s got friends who care about her.”
Eunwoo looks at him, his tone biting. “It’s not about her having friends, it’s about her. She listens to yn more than she listens to me. She doesn’t even know what she wants, and now this?”
He gestures toward the door with a sharp, annoyed motion. “You know damn well she doesn’t want to be chased, and yn just
keeps sticking her nose in places where it doesn’t belong.”
Oh he’s going to get punched.
Jungkook feels his chest tighten, something snapping inside him as Eunwoo’s words settle in. “You don’t get it, do you?” he mutters, his voice colder now.
“You don’t get that Alina isn’t just some prize to be won, and neither is yn. You think your way’s going to work, but guess what? She’s not going to just fall for you because you chase her.”
Eunwoo looks at him with a dangerous glint in his eyes. “Yeah? Well, at least I’m trying. At least I’m not playing games.”
Jungkook clenches his jaw, but his temper’s starting to get the better of him.
He takes a deep breath, trying to rein it in. “You’re trying too hard. You’re too obvious, and you’re not seeing that you’re pushing her away instead of pulling her in. Alina’s not the kind of girl you can win over by being a show-off. She wants someone who gets her.”
Eunwoo steps forward, their faces inches apart now. “And you think yn’s not the same? She’s innocent, Jungkook. She’s not aware of you. She has no idea about what kind of a man you really are. But hey, enjoy it while it lasts.”
Jungkook sees red.
Jungkook’s patience wears thin, his voice lowering dangerously. “Don’t talk about her like that. You don’t know her, not like I do.”
Eunwoo just laughs bitterly. “I don’t need to know her, do I? You think she’s different? You think she’s going to fall for you just because you’re
what, a nice guy now? You’re her friend
 that’s all.”
Jungkook glares at him, his anger bubbling just under the surface. “She’s not just some game to me. And unlike you, I’m not out here making things harder than they need to be.”
Eunwoo raises his hands, throwing them up in mock surrender.
“Alright, alright, whatever. But don’t say I didn’t warn you. The moment you stop playing it cool, she’s going to see it for what it really is.” He turns on his heel and stalks off, muttering under his breath as he disappears down the hallway.
Jungkook watches him go, his heart still pounding in his chest, the sting of Eunwoo’s words still echoing in his mind.
It’s hard to ignore that nagging feeling in the back of his mind—that he might be playing this whole thing wrong. But no matter how Eunwoo or anyone else looks at it, Jungkook knows one thing: yn’s the only one he wants, and if he has to fight for your attention, then so be it.
So, before he can think clearly? He stalks towards eunwoo and catches up to him within long fast strides, pulls hard on the back of his jacket so he halts and forcefully turns him around so they’re face to face again.
“You mother.fucker!”
And lands a strong punch to eunwoo’s face.
