My Sweet Mobster (2024)
Tumblr media
Genre: Comedy, Romance
Main Actors: Uhm Tae Goo, Han Sun Hwa, Kwon Yul
Plot: Seo Ji Hwan is a retired mobster, now the CEO of his own sausage-making company that hires ex-cons. Go Eun Ha is a kids' YouTuber, who tries to make kids happy by using cheap, simple things, based on her own childhood and memories of her friend, Hyeon U, whom she has been searching for since he left one day without a trace. Ji Hwan and Eun Ha have several meet-uglies, but after their rocky start, grow to have a romantic interest in each other. Jang Hyeon U is a fan of Eun Ha's and a prosecutor who crossed paths with Ji Hwan before his criminal retirement, and is suspicious of him and his ex-con employees' relationships with Eun Ha.
Relationship: Every single relationship is spectacular. Ji Hwan and Eun Ha, Eun Ha and Hyeon U, Ji Hwan and Hyeon U, the Thirsty Deer employees, Mi Ho, everyone. The leads are absolutely adorable and Ji Hwan is such a simp for Eun Ha. The Thirsty Deer employees and Eun Ha have such a great dynamic, especially Eun Ha and Jae Su. (9.5/10)
Characters: The characters are all fantastic. I enjoyed finding out the leads' backstories, and even getting glimpses at some of the TD group's members' backstories as well. The acting was all great and I liked the characters a lot. The villains were interesting as well. (9/10)
Favourite Quote/Scene: The progression of Jae Su and Eun Ha's relationship, especially when all the Thirsty Deer employees joined Eun Ha's side against Ji Hwan.
Final Thoughts: This was such a great drama that I definitely recommend! Lots of hilarious and cute moments, and a green flag couple for sure (though they have their moments, of course). The plot was great, the characters and relationships were amazing, and there was a nice long happy ending. (8.7/10)

Moving
@suzuran-s-rooftop
VOTO 8.3

I’ve poked around a little in Tumblr etc to see what people say about Café Minamdang, and it seems like people either really enjoy it or they really hate it. I can see why – while it occasionally gets serious, it’s mostly goofy af. Headdesk-inducing goofiness, even.
I just finished ep 6, and I actually love it. I started watching it specifically because people said it was ridiculous and funny, and I needed something like that to off-set the heavier stuff I’m also watching (Beyond Evil, Bloodhounds, Flower of Evil).
I love me some angsty and traumatized MLs so the fact that Nam Han Jun has not been a happy-go-lucky lunatic all his life is a bonus, mainly because so far they haven’t given up the goofiness to go all in on the angst.
Actually, the fact that he hasn’t always been a con-man, and that he’s been running his shaman con from the beginning with the mindset of someone whose career was always meant to help people, makes me like the show more. Han Jun has let his inner court jester off the leash, but he’s still a good guy underneath it all.
I love the dynamic between the ML and the FL so far. I’m hand-waving the age/timeline stuff and just going with what the show tells me to think about that rather than analyzing it too hard, so I think her early crush on him was cute.
Usually the trope of the cop who assumes they know who did it and refuses to be objective in the slightest really frustrates me, but it works here somehow? I think because there really does appear to be no reason to doubt the so-called evidence until Han Jun makes a stink about it. Jae-hui has started to question things, now that she’s being called out on her rigidity, which makes a huge difference.
I think my favorite element so far is how much Han Jun really doesn’t give a fuck if law enforcement will believe him, or support him, or even listen to him. I’m guessing he gave up on that sometime during his incarceration. He’s perfectly aware of how easily the law can be manipulated to sacrifice the innocent, because he’s been the sacrificial innocent, and he has no faith left.
He knows he’s right, and he’s going to investigate what he wants to investigate, and Jae-Hui and her cohort can either listen to him or they can continue to focus on what they think is right; he doesn’t care either way.
It’s kind of refreshing. Usually, there’s some level of desperation on the hero’s part to be understood and believed by the people in power. They either try to hide what they’re doing because they’re afraid of being misunderstood, or they’re aggressively trying to get people to believe them.
Han Jun doesn’t do that. He doesn’t agonize over it, either; he just does his thing.
It helps that he has people on his side, even if none of them are particularly powerful. Han Jun, Hye Jun, Su Cheol and Na Dan are such a great little ridiculous, pure, mutually supportive family.
Speaking of actual family, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more realistic brother-sister relationship. Han Jun and Hye Jun have such a great love-aggravate-support-mock dynamic.
I have to admit that I keep waiting to find out that Su Cheol is the bad guy. I couldn’t figure out why until I realized that the other show I’ve seen that actor in is Lovers of the Red Sky, in which he played the villain. I don’t *want* Han Jun to be betrayed by his friend, though, so I will be very happy if he doesn’t turn out to be evil.
Oh, side note: I kind of love that while Han Jun started out being the BAMF martial artist who taught Jae-Hui, he’s now barely able to hold his own in a fight while she’s Avengers-level kick-ass. It feels like a skill he let lapse because it maybe required a level of...I don’t know, dedication to heroism? That he no longer feels. Whereas Jae-Hui has improved because she’s driven to be The Best Cop Ever after the tragedy of her brother’s death and the fact that his killer got away.
But yes. 100% enjoying this show.

finished yangtze river dolphin episode from extraordinary attorney woo and i think im near tears. i love this episode so much. a huge chunk of my media experience keeps telling me to be on edge, telling me that things are going to get dirty and dramatic and people are going to get antagonised for the sake of a good show, but it never goes there. the witness (? is that what you call them for civil cases?) temporarily snapping in court because everyone from the company is tired about the lawsuit, but after the court hearing ends, the plaintiffs end up hugging her and reassuring her that "it's okay, people have their own opinions, you're not a bad person, this is just how circumstances are and i wouldn't fault you for not picking the moral high road’ for the sake of your own stability and comfort. i would've made the same decision in your shoes. these things shouldn't be blamed on you, but the way our patriarchal society has been set up even before we were born that forces us to choose between these two things. we will never fault you for not making the impossible perfect choice. no matter what happens in the end, we will never fault you for it."
and i'm just like. crying man. it's easy in shows involving law to easily spin a tale to villainise characters the main characters are disagreeing with, but like... this show goes beyond that and reveals something very simple and true, which is that humans are flawed, which means they can make flawed decisions, but that is not always a failure of morality or conscience.
and my god the critique of the mir life company was so good too. even when i thought i'd hate the hr guy, it turns out he's also just another cog in the machine they'd throw out. he's also been fed the same lies and sweet promises the others were, and i couldn't feel that familiar sense of "vindication!!!" i felt when villains got what they deserved. because it reminded me, once again, that he's not a villain; he's just another guy crushed under the weight of his imperfect decisions, becoming the scapegoat for all the targeted animosity when in reality he was discarded just as easily. it felt like his appearance was deliberately put so we'd have someone's face to hate, to throw the eggs on, but in reality the shitty choices are always made from people higher up than him, invisible and faceless but very much present in influencing the quality of thousands of people's livelihoods.
god. what a good show. between young-woo and su-yeon's friendship, i'm also loving the women solidarity in this episode. i love it so much. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON RYU JAE-SOOK AND HER PHILOSOPHY ABOUT BEING AN ATTORNEY AND HER POEM SHE READ ON THE ROOFTOP. I'LL BURST INTO TEARS IF I REMEMBER IT

Favorite character: cha hyun su
Least Favorite character: the pedo guy, kang seug-wan, jae-hwan
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): jisu x jae-heon, yu-ri x sang-wook, eun yu x hyun-su, ( non canon): kang seok-chan x sergeant Kim yeong-hu, cha hyun su x ui myeong
Character I find most attractive: sang wook in s1 with that hairstyle and shirt 😳 , also hyun su in s3 and lee eunhyuk in s1
Character I would marry: Character hyun su or samg wook
Character I would be best friends with: yu-ri
A random thought: yi kyung's daughter has the coolest powers
An unpopular opinion: yi kyung daughter suffered a lot growing up and she deserved a better mother , hyun su did tue best he could but raising a child in an apocalyptic world is hard. Also most of the times she used her powers were to defend herself and the people had it coming.
My canon OTP: cha hyun su x eun yu ( unless s3 ruins it)
Non-canon OTP: ui myeong x cha hyun su in s1.
Most badass character: sang wook or yi kyung
Pairing I am not a fan of: ji-su x cha hyun-su ( sorry I see them as siblings in the show)
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): yi kyung I guess??? I really dont know.
Favourite friendship: eun yu and ji su, and cha hyun su with han du-sik
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you
How I feel about this character: he is a cute cibammon bun that did not deserved to be bullied then used as a puppet. He suffered so much and cried so many tears. Writers please give him a happy ending in s3
All the people I ship romantically with this character: lee eun-yu and ui myeong/nam sang won ( this one is for shits and giggles lol)
My non-romantic OTP for this character: hyun su and lee eunhyuk I guess
My unpopular opinion about this character: cha hyun su could have been a villain and I wouldn't blame him for it. After all the shit he went through, it's understandable
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Have more than one scene where he is happy lol. Especially more scenes with the little girl that he raised, I need more daddy hyun su scenes in s3
My OTP: cha hyun su and lee eun yu
My OT3: friendship wise: cha hyun su and eun yu and eunhyuk

Helloo
Yeah, I like that they offer perspective to each other. There are lots of conversations (between the leads, and also with others) that make me go "I like this drama".
I'm not the brightest one so that plot twist (of Suho bringing an usb to hack the computer) surprised me.
Cameos are pretty fine in this drama. They carry the story well without being too obvious as a guest actor/actress.
Everyone is sus to me. I was expecting Jay to be the president from the get-go... but now idk, we'll see.
Lol at this point we're living in the world of Jeokmeok. Everyone is somehow related to it. (I was very uncomfortable with the possibility of Jae In working for the Jeokmeok but I'm glad she is not. I mean, at least not on purpose.)
I want the president to be an impressive villain. I hope it doesn't turn out to be a pathetic/boring character.
For my thoughts...
"feel like they accomplished something only to ruin it all over again" I like this about this drama. They all got plan, they put it on the action and then they fail. The drama has many failures, it brings an interesting spark. (Not the first attempt tho... I was like "girl, haven't you thought that they would torture you by using your weakest point, too?") It might look like it all goes in ruin (and it does) but I don't feel like my time is being robbed.
Do you have any fav characters?? I like the psychiatrist and the lawyer friend! Last episode has a ✨sincere✨ conversation scene of Moo Young and him. I was so happy that there is one, but I didn't understand some points because the subs were kind of hard to follow/comprehend?? Anyways. I like them. And Yo Han's annoying presence is so fun to watch, he really carries the comedy part on his shoulder.
I still have no idea what this drama can bring to me, so I have no thoughts or expectations other than the anticipation of enjoying upcoming episodes. I am enjoying the acting, dialogues, ~frauds~.
FRIENDDDDDD
YOUR GUESSS ISSSSS RIGHTTTT. The latest 2 eps were very wow for me like it's nearly the end but the revelations *chef's kiss* I love it!
I feel you, I like how there's constant mishaps, nothing is ever perfect and it relates back to how these jeokmok kids are somehow always trapped in the cycle of their past. As much as they want to escape and get out of the jeokmok ways, old habits die hard.
I really like DaJung and Ringo, I just want to protect them<3333.. Despite the harsh treatment they experienced, they are just really nice kids. But Yohan's annoying ass lmao I love that for him. I like yohan's and jaein's interaction. and yes the one at the dinner table about the fork and how he nonchalantly revealed he was abused(?).
Mooyoung and Yohan are soooo, i love when he annoys the hell out of mooyoung. they are bross. I need to rewatch that scene I missed the convo maybe.
I know Jay was sus but the revealllll. He is creepy, he groomed her since so young omgg and so soo obsessive of her. My heart breaks for roum, she really had to take in all the shocking truths in a day and deal with everything with a "sane" mind. When suho said something about worrying roum will never recover, I have the same worry. she was slowly going back to how she was originally, a softie and caring person and with all of these getting thrown at her, but I know she's strong willed so I hope she'll finally be free from all the burdens soon.
the last part of ep 14 tho, she is finally genuinely trusting and depending on him. Drives me a little crazy yeah now how to wait 4more days.

Tumblr media

Choi Min-sik in Oldboy (Park Chan-wook, 2003)
Cast: Choi Min-sik, Yoo Ji-tae, Kang Hye-jeong, Kim Byeong-Ok, Ji Dae-han,  Yoon Jin-seo, Oh Dat-su. Screenplay: Park Chan-wook, Lim Joon-hyung, Hwang Jo-yun. Cinematography: Chung Chung-hoon. Production design: Ryu Seong-hie. Film editing: Kim Jae-beom, Kim Sang-beom. Music: Jo Yeong-wook.
It's about as improbable a premise for a thriller you'll find: A man, out on a drunken spree, wakes up imprisoned in what looks like a cheap hotel room where he stays, not knowing who put him there or why, for 15 years. His only contact with the outside world is a television set; his food is slipped to him through a slot in the door, and occasionally gas that puts him to sleep is pumped in the room so that it can be cleaned while he is unconscious. Then one day he is suddenly released and provided with cash and a cell phone. He begins to hunt compulsively for answers about who has done this to him. It's a mad plot, riffing on themes of guilt and obsession that are worthy of Kafka or Dostoevsky, but instead are cast in the idiom of horror movies and martial arts films. Eventually, the protagonist, Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik), will find the answers to what he seeks, but the truth will be more shattering than satisfying. Oldboy won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Festival, and no one who knows movies will be surprised to find that the jury was presided over by Quentin Tarentino, who gets the same inspiration from violent pop culture that Park Chan-wook demonstrates. Park has said that he named his protagonist Oh Dae-su as a near homonym for Oedipus, who shared a similar fate when he discovered the truth. , Oldboy has provocative things to say about guilt and revenge, and Choi's performance as the abused and haunted Dae-su is superb. Yu Ji-tae is suavely menacing as the villain, and Kang Hye-jeong is touching as Mi-do, who aids Dae-su in his quest. There is a stunningly accomplished long take in the middle of the film in which the camera follows Dae-su as he single-handedly battles an army of opponents in a hallway that stretches across the wide screen like a frieze on the entablature of a temple. For once, however, a tour-de-force display of cinema technique doesn't overwhelm the rest of the film.

everybwody detailing how epic ep 11 is bawt i gotta say jae su is so irrelevant and i hope he gets less and lesser screen time. i dnt rlly care abt the comedic relief aspect of his character, he was NEVER funny 😭 + also bc everytime gang tae has done sum different and finally reveals his multidimensionality slowly over time through more escalated and much needed events regarding release that brings him closer to his own sense of individuality and freedom to operate as a normal man who, i dnt kneau, ISNT afraid of socialization and confrontation that’s necessary for growth? he’s always in his ear hating on munyeong (who is literally his girlfriend neow so gangtae should’ve popped him in his mouth) and redirects the conversation to her rubbing off “lunatic” as though she was ever that bad(?) and 2) missing the point and trying to force gang tae back into the shell of himself that had nothing to attribute to himself but his brother ? he prides himself on sticking to his side those 10 yrs but now he’s crooning for attention/praise for being beside stagnant gang tae and never offers anything of substance support-wise for him when shit has hit the fan. years of repression, avoidance, and lack of transparency come to light and all he does is ask if he’s still a “priority” as though he wasn’t a filler exception for the ride. a leech and doesn’t want to see him win. tht man is not no best friend and he’s super sketchy-looking 😭 i wouldn’t be surprised if his weird grudge against munyeong for taking off his shackles was bc he was secretly sent to watch/spy on sang tae and gangtae by the orders of munyeongs mom to make sure they never came in contact with munyeong and/or never experienced or maximized their true potential ever. just meant to accompany them in isolation. bc remember when she came in a sleep paralysis for munyeong talmbout “ill kill your prince” ☠️ and the way jae su was warning him off....mmmm and why does sang tae not even like jae su like that after all these years ? he doesn’t even see him as family, yet he accepted munyeong as family in a heartbeat for making gang tae happy. jae su has NEVER WANTED GANG TAE TO BE HAPPY *ANDDDDD* HAS NEVER MADE HIM HAPPY. LETS TALK ABOUT IT. THERES SHUM OFF ABOUT JAE SU FR ILL DIE ON THIS CONSPIRACY HILL.... MAYBE HES WITH THE HEAD NURSE 👁

Kdrama women I love (Part 2)
 Part 1 (here)
Sorry, not sorry, I just can’t stop thinking about them!
Cha Soo-hyun from Signal: Imagine having a powerhouse like Kim Hye-soo on your cast and then saddling her with an awkward/tragic workplace romance in lieu of idk actual character development that happens ON SCREEN as opposed to off it. I mean, Signal is excellently made, but there’s no denying that Cha Soo-hyun got a raw-ish deal. I would have loved to see her grow into the badass cop she is when we meet her first, but most of her time onscreen is spent reacting to events set in motion by The Men, and just, like, why. In my head, the perfect fic for Cha Soo-hyun would cover the years after Lee Jae-han’s disappearance and before Park Hae-young’s entry; so much of her struggle in the early years was to be taken seriously as a cop, and I want to see her doing that without Lee Jae-han’s help. I would also NOT be opposed to a post canon OT3; it could be incredibly fun to write the tangled dynamics of that, especially now that Cha Soo-hyun isn’t the wide eyed rookie that Lee Jae-han knew, and Park Hae-young’s YEARNING to belong would neatly fold into what his sunbaes could offer.
Ahn Young-yi from Misaeng: My god, this woman suffered in Misaeng. I just want the fic in which she lets herself be angry. I fully understand her choices in Misaeng- the tightrope that she’s walking in the hopes of survival- but I won’t deny that I felt robbed of the satisfaction of seeing her hurl a rock or three at the heads of her misogynist colleagues and boss. There’s probably a fic out there about how Young-yi starts to build her networks with the other women at One International, and how she climbs the ladder to power. I want this to be a story about women making space for the ones after them, and pulling them up with them. It’s the story she deserves, along with all the other women in that series, whose stories were sidelined to make space for The Men.
Yoon Hee-soo from Into The Ring: That woman is going to be President in ten years and nobody will convince me otherwise. Love her pragmatism, her wicked, trollish sense of humour, her ambition and the fact that she cares deeply but isn’t performative about it. She’s the one I would trust to Get Things Done, just as I would trust Goo Se-ra to rock the comfortable status-quo. Together (and with the intrepid Gong-myung) they will CHANGE THE WORLD. Where’s the fic, world, where??? ( side-eyes self) ps. I hear there’s a season 2 in the works and if it doesn’t give me some version of this fic, I shall be very sad.
Jang Ro-sa from Hospital Playlist : WHERE is the 70 episode show about the Life of Jang Ro-sa? I loved her from the first episode where she’s so matter-of-fact about her marriage of convenience; how on earth did she manage to raise a bunch of kids who ALL fell in love with God first and forever? Why didn’t she become a pianist? What are she and Jeong-su doing on that pilgrimage/ road trip ? I just want to know ALL of it. Someone write it * puppy face *
Kim Sang-sook from Into the Ring- Jang Hye-jin brings so much sparkling charm to her role as Se-ra’s mom, I just fell crazily in love with her. I just love how much she’s just herself and unfazed by other people’s opinions of her; i love that she fucks up on the regular but with STYLE. I think that’s a lovely trait that she’s passed on to her daughter- one that will carry her through her chosen life of MAKING THE WORLD BETTER. Anyways, where’s the fic where Sang-sook gets involved in some pyramid marketing scheme and Gong-myung has to bail her out of it and they both have to keep it secret from Se-ra and her dad? I demand this be put in my eyeballs AT ONCE.
Do Hae-won from Beyond Evil: My god, a villain’s villain. Gil Hae-yeon puts the fear of the devil into you every time she slithers onto the screen with her weaponized cloying, subservient femininity. She seems so brittle, but beneath it is the hard rock of years of bitterness. The show doesn’t bother to do more than hint at the reasons why- because of course, female villains are never afforded the interiority of their male counterparts, or even chance for understanding- but I think Gil Hae-yeon manages to convey both her resentment at this world ruled by men and their rules. and her contempt for them as a class in every scene. I wonder how things would have been different- if they would have been- if she’d had a daughter, instead of a son. Anyways, an absolutely riveting performance, and I think that’s the only reason I am sort of tempted to contemplate a post canon fic for her. How does she survive jail? What does she do after? Who’s going to write it for me? (SIGH.)
Jung Geum-ja from Hyena- I don’t think a lot needs to be said about why Jung Geum-ja is literally one of the best female characters ever to be written in a kdrama. Kim Hye-soo is in her element in her role as this half-gangster/ half- vengeful angel, 100% unforgettable woman. Love to see sexpot Ju Ji-hoon fold like a pack of cards in the face of that unbearably sexy combination of wit, grit and panache; but ALSO love watching every woman in a radius of 5 kms faint from lust and longing to be her and be with her at the same time. Luckily for me, I don’t have to write any of the fic, everyone who’s watched the show just head over to Gin’s AO3 page and treat yourself.

A hphm character tier list please!! Bonus point if added reasoning/ explanation!
Have a great day :3
Tumblr media
I doubt there are any placements on this list that would truly surprise anyone, but let's go through the different rankings. I didn't name them, by the way. Those were the categories that were already offered. I could have renamed or recolored them I suppose, but I didn't wind up doing so. Let's go in ascending order.
"Avada Kedavra." Self explanatory. Three of these characters are absolutely evil and irredeemable pieces of trash. And then there's Lockhart. He's just here because he pisses me off. Granted, so does Rita Skeeter, but she doesn't ruin an entire dating quest. At least when she shows up, it's because it's a quest about her. Fenrir Greyback purposefully infects children and describes them as "delicious" so...yeah. I'd put him even lower if I could. Albus Dumbledore's placement is also not a surprise if you know me. I hate him with all of my hate. Patricia Rakepick is also here and I doubt I need to explain why.
"Send to Azkaban." They don't bother me as much as "Avada Kedavra" but I am still not a fan. The Volde-clown Boggart is personally annoying in presentation but also as a plot device. For Peeves, there is the Prank storyline of Year 5. Enough said. The Weird Sisters creep me out, Filch and Mundugus are generally annoying, I discussed Rita, and the Dementor literally calls Azkaban home. That leaves Wormtail. I don't passionately hate him but he's not exactly a good person either.
"Kinda Sus" This is where I placed all of the characters who I, for whatever reason, do not trust or otherwise find shady, the ones who give me a bad feeling. This doesn't have to be plot related either, for cases like Ethan Parkin or Madam Hooch, it might just mean that their behavior is sometimes questionable. Of course, this is also something of a joke, like putting the Red Cloak on the list. For someone like Moody, it's more obvious - everyone knows I don't trust him. Characters like Bilton and Madam Villanelle are technically on our side, but they could be spies. If a character is a known villain, but their agenda and the depth of their evil is unclear, like The Dark Witch and the White-Robed Wizard, they also go here. Jacob and MC being placed here is somewhat of a joke, but it's also somewhat meta. Jacob is like Moody, his intentions are still unclear to me. And the game keeps teasing the idea that MC may fall to the Dark Side.
"Do you even go here?" Wow, do you ever stop to notice how many characters HPHM actually has? And this tier list included all of them, even the ones I would never have thought of. I literally just used this category to place all of the characters who do not technically attend Hogwarts school, though in a few of those cases like Aurelie, it definitely came off as more amusing. Additionally, I used this ranking for all of the characters who could be considered forgettable. Either by the fandom or the game itself, such as the prefects and poor Elora Dunn. Look, if the tier list has to actually list their name in the picture so that I can remember who they are, maybe they don't need to make the list, that's all I'm saying.
"Don't care." Mostly interchangeable with "Do you even go here." Again, the cast is so huge, that I'm not going to go through every character that I placed here. These past two rankings can mostly act as a summation for the majority of the characters for whom I don't particularly like or dislike. Emily Tyler hasn't returned or been developed as an antagonist in a while, so I don't care. Trelawney giving another prophecy is boring and conflicts with canon, so I don't care. Cedric Diggory is one of the most in-your-face examples of fanservice I've ever seen, so I don't care. But again, not all of these are negative. I think the Red Cap is funny, even if his storyline is brief. I love seeing Dobby, Arthur and Molly. I always love seeing them. I could go on.
"Ok." For the characters who, when I look at them, my immediate reaction is a generally positive one. I could probably get interested in a fanwork about these guys. For many of them, there is great potential to be explored but it just hasn't happened very much. Diego would not have been this high a year ago, but he's been fleshed out. Characters like Andre, Duncan, and Tonks...whenever they're in the spotlight and get genuine development, I'm interested. It just happens so rarely. The same goes for the Weasley boys, for Badeea. Other characters go here because I personally like them, even if they aren't that relevant. People like Aberforth and Percy. But two people can wind up here despite being very different and my having completely separate feelings about both of them, like Alanza and Ben.
"Like." Everyone that I would probably write a fanwork about someday, if I could actually motivate myself to finish my current WIP. Talbott, Chiara, and Jae are genuinely interesting and compelling. They might not make my top five, but they would make my top ten. I will always love Flitwick and what HPHM has done for him, I don't even care. Keep in mind, this doesn't mean I condone everything that the character has done...Ismelda has a lot to answer for, but it doesn't mean she's not interesting. And Penny can be very interesting too, but usually only when she's put under intense stress. As heartless as it is to say. You may also be surprised to see Myrtle here, but similar to Flitwick, I just love what this game did with her. Some of these could rise or drop a ranking pretty easily too. Like in hindsight, maybe I should have switched Duncan and Myrtle. It's not a big deal either way, I guess.
"Must be protected at all costs." Self explanatory. For the most part, these are all my favorite characters in the game, and the ones who I would lay down on railroad tracks for. Another character who climbed higher over time is Skye. If it wasn't for how much people message me about her, I may not have gotten quite as invested. My love for Orion is well documented, Rowan is the reason I started playing this game, Beatrice was the breakout character of Year 6, and Tulip x Merula is my OTP for this game. I could gush about any one of these kids for six paragraphs but the bottom line is that they are my favorite characters. It is at this point that we have entered "top five" territory.
"GOD TIER ~ ALWAYS" Characters who reign supreme and are factually flawless. It's not surprising to see characters like Dennis and Fang up here because critters are, generally speaking, leagues above humans simply by default. We can also see her majesty Queen Bean ruling from the sky, guarded by her champion, the arbiter known as Erika Rath. You are entitled to your wrong opinion if you fail to see the divinity of these characters.

Borrowed Time || Chp. 1
So my latest hyperfixation has been this show on Netflix called ‘Swee/t Home’. It’s a live-action South Korean adaption of a webtoon comic, and seriously if you’ve never heard of it before, at least watch the first episode. If you aren’t hooked, gosh, I don’t know what could make a person want more! But you don’t have to have seen the show to enjoy this I think, but again I’d highly reccommend checking the series out. I adore every single character and I’ll probably be writing more about them all, but for now I’m focusing on Pyeon San/g-wook because h-he’s my fave... He’s basically a mysterious drifter who dolls out justice in his own badass way, and he’s amazing and a super complex character.
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR EPISODE FIVE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED:
This is after Sang-wook kills the pedophile he was hired to find, and then drags his body outside while bringing two other victims who had died to a monster inside the apartment building. It was pouring raining and my brain instantly went: how can you have a out-in-the-rain scene without sickness? BLASPHEMY! Anyway hope y’all enjoy!
The timing might have been slightly comical if he didn't have a splitting headache. Or, was it a concussion? That... nurse had mentioned something similar, but he truly hadn't paid her any mind. Why would he give someone so prying the time of day in the first place? He hated being touched without his permission, no matter the reason; maybe she had simply been trying to help, but there was absolutely no way in hell he was going to let her continue treating him as if he was some weakling.
No, he only... felt weak, due to all of the stress. He would bounce back eventually - he inevitably did. Though he could never fully comprehend why, his body had an uncanny ability to heal faster than most, and bestowed him with a strength that most people only ever imagined themselves possessing. It had served him well over the years, made him capable of surviving on his own for as long as he'd needed to, aided him in carrying out the tasks others simply didn't have the stomach for. It had of course, had it's downsides - there were injuries and ailments he simply couldn't knock in a matter of hours, and those instances where he'd been forced to finally allow his body to rest were intensely irritating.
A bead of sweat rolled down his forehead as he staggered through the dirtied hallway and, sensing that he was finally alone, allowed himself to lean bodily against a flyer-littered wall. His breath was coming in short, harsh pants, almost bordering on wheezing, though his teeth instantly grit at the idea. He wasn't weak-- damn it, if Jae-heon had just left him out there to die, he wouldn't be feeling like utter, completely useless shit right now. The zealot likely loathed him just like the rest, if not fear then at the very least an intense dislike. Only his 'vows' or whatever meaningless word of God had made him keep the gate open. He swallowed- or rather, made an attempt to, and was unsurprised to find that the action was mildly painful. Pair that was the throbbing near his sinuses, the malaise, and the general feeling of being lethargic, it wouldn't take a medical professional to inform him that he was unwell. What was that old saying? Something about only fools catching a chill from standing out in the rain? Nonsense. But... well, he wasn't about to start pondering old proverbs with a pounding headache. At least he wasn't getting a nose bleed. Just a stuffy one. It took Sang-wook longer than he would have preferred to stand up straight again and continue limping down the walkway, but eventually he did, coming to a stop on the corner of a vacant room. He could practically hear his limbs creak as he perched himself on the edge of a step, and one hand automatically slipped into his jacket pocket. Some habits were harder to break than others. And if ever there a time he truly needed a smoke... With the lit cigarette between his lips, he began to ponder what his next move would be. He had technically finished his business there; no other reason to remain other than the fact that fucking monsters were roaming the city. Of all the positively inconvenient bullshit - monsters. Not that he had any real plans after taking care of matters. He never did. Being a drifter meant not making attachments, not allowing himself to get roped into anything unless it was related to his main task. And yet there he was, with an apartment full of people who either saw him as a thug or a threat or, for some irritatingly insane reason, a person to be pardoned. A laughable concept at best. He didn't even want to be pardoned - he didn't regret the things he had done, to begin with. And wasn't that one of the key steps to getting into heaven? Being repentant for your sins? Well, that was already one big strike against him. Just how did that damned nosey priest expect him to continue on, then? Why had he been so adamant about "saving" him? Why? A trail of smoke filtered past his nostrils, nose absently wrinkling as the thoughts only served to frustrate him all the more. What the hell was he going to do... He brought the stick to his lips again, but his breath caught pre-inhale, mouth forming a deeper frown than normal. A small pin-prick had been stinging the back of his nose ever since he'd woken up, but so far he'd been able to ignore it. Until now. He sniffed harshly, once, twice and, thinking that was that, but the moment he closed his lips around the cigarette, he inhaled harshly through his nose. "hH'KGSHHh!" The sneeze jerked his head down sharply, though he managed to keep it relatively quiet. The last thing he needed was some passerby hearing and having the guts to try and approach him. Though containing it hadn't done his headache any favors, and his teeth had nearly snapped the cigarette in half. Hell, he couldn't even smoke in peace. What was the point of still being alive, again? "You shouldn't be smoking," Ah, there it was. Sang-wook didn't need to glance up in order to place the voice - he could smell the self-righteousness from a mile away. Or, he would have, had he been able to smell anything at the moment.
Resisting the urge to sniffle, he made no attempt at offering even a semblance of acknowledgement towards the other. Not that it would stop him from poking his nose where it didn't belong, so it came as no surprise when Jae-heon stood directly in front of him, gradually lowering himself until he was seated similarly to the other with a soft grunt. Sighing, Sang-wook plucked the useless cigarette from his lips and tossed it to the floor, swiftly crunching it beneath his boot. "I'm not,"
Jae-heon hummed in acknowledgement. "I don't say it to judge," Sang-wook wasn't sure why he felt the need to clarify, but his gaze did flit over to the other's general direction for a moment. He could see the glint his blade gave off out of the corner of his eye. Curious. Although he didn't doubt the other's skill, he just didn't see a point in taking it with him everywhere. But that was ultimately his choice, and he didn't have the mental capacity to bother pondering why he did so. "How are you feeling?" The scarred man barely lifted his eyes to Jae-heon, who gestured with his chin towards the direction Sang-wook had originally walked from. "Yu-ri took a look at your head injury, right? Is it serious?"
The only response he gave was a meager shrug. Sang-wook wouldn't willingly give information about how he was feeling when it didn't matter in the long run. Whether he was fine or slowly bleeding out, what difference would it make? You shouldn't be alive in the first place; why does he care? God, thinking made his head throb. Couldn't he just be alone in this god forsaken complex for more than a solid minute?
He heard Jae-heon sigh, noted him shift slightly, but still kept his gaze glued to the floor. "What you did... I can't agree with your actions," Sang-wook almost scoffed aloud. Was he really expected to listen to a lecture about right and wrong? His attention was already split, anyway. The itch sparked in his sinuses still burned, not having been satisfied with the weak excuse for a sneeze, and every facial muscle was tensed as he worked to smother the sensation into submission. At least he always happened to look stoic, so he doubted the other would notice. Still, hearing Jae-heon gear up for a sermon of sorts didn't bode well for his waning resolve. "But I do understand why you did what you did. The others might not - they might still see you as something that you're not-" "What would you know about what I am?" Sang-wook interjected sharply, a scowl evident on his features. Admittedly, it hurt to talk, and he internally cringed at the trace of hoarseness in his voice. But he didn't like anyone thinking of him as some misunderstood wretch worthy of some kind of redemption. He wasn't a hero, he wasn't a villain, not good or evil - he simply was, and he never needed to be more or less than that, didn't need to satisfy anyone's opinion of him. Jae-heon glanced down momentarily, looking as if he were trying to gather his thoughts. Speaking could come as easily as breathing at certain times, and yet there were moments were every point of diction managed to fail him. "I'm not here to pity you. And I wouldn't claim to understand you. Every person has their reasons for what they do - and every person has to stand with those reasons before the almighty. I'm not here to judge," The scarred skin beneath Sang-wook's eye jumped slightly. "Then what are you here to do? Whatever it is, you're wasting your..." He had to pause, throat constricting momentarily before he sighed unevenly through his nose, "... breath. You should be more concerned about yourself," Jae-heon couldn't help but quirk a miniscule smile at that. "That isn't God's way. Besides, I wouldn't still be alive if I had decided to be selfish," His thoughts shifted to Hyun-su, Mr. Han, Ms. Im and Ji-su - he had all of them to thank for his life, for making it this far. People who, while they may not have shared the same faith as himself, had believed that sticking together and looking after each other was the way to survive - was the right path. No matter their differences, they chose to be selfless, and that was what had led them to finding the other survivors. Sang-wook didn't reply, mainly due to the fact that he wasn't sure he could safely do so without breaking his concentration. Though it didn't matter - Jae-heon continued anyway. "You didn't have to bring back Min-Ju and Su-ung. I won't ask you why, because to me, what matters is that you did. That means something," When Sang-wook didn't respond again, Jae-heon opened his mouth to continue, only to be silenced when the other opposite him took in a sharp inhale and twisted off to the side. "hH'GKxnt! h'HCHGnt!" Jae-heon blinked for a moment, not really startled by the sneezes but seeming to examine Sang-wook with a little more scrutiny, to which the the other flashed him a glare. Unfazed, he continued to gaze at the other. "You look pale. You should be resting," Sang-wook simply scoffed, cringing at the phlegm lining his throat. He desperately needed to sniff back the moisture threatening to breach his nostrils, but his pride held the action back as Jae-heon continued to press the issue. "You're up and about after having passed out - and you were in the rain for a good while. You might be getting sick," And if he was? What the hell did it matter? Sang-wook wanted to press both heels of his palms against his eyes and grind until the pressure behind them lessened at least a little. He was exhausted, and fatigue suddenly swept over him like the storm clouds still raging outside. Everything felt heavy and sluggish which, for someone with normally such sharp senses, was more than off-putting. It felt wrong. He felt wrong. Why was the good Christian wasting time worrying about whether or not he was ill when there were literal monsters still roaming the apartment? As if sensing his turmoil, Jae-heon finally moved to stand back up, katana blade resting by his side. "You should go see Yu-ri - at the very least she can give you something for your head," He began to turn away, paused, then uttered something that made the skin on the back of Song-wook's neck prickle uncomfortably.
"Take care of yourself," Jae-heon’s retreating footsteps seemed to echo unusually loud, and it wasn't until he could no longer hear them any longer that Sang-wook finally indulged in a thick, pitiful sniffle and allowed his head to drop into his waiting hands.

It’s Okay Not to Be Okay Ep 12
So proud of Sang Tae and Mun Young this episode.
Mun Young clearly listens to and cares about everything Gang Tae says and is willing to try it. Counting to three, stopping and trying to see if she’s been inconsiderate enough to cause him anger, asking Jae Su for help.
(Also, I hope they do right by Jae Su, all he wants is to be part of the family and I really hope he gets it, bless his heart.)
Sang Tae knowing exactly what to do when the patient started having a panic attack on the bus, being just like his brother and taking care of him was great to see. Also to see how proud he was of himself and his abilities afterwards. Then facing the butterfly.
I still think that the culprit and current shadowy villain is not Mun Young’s mother still alive, but Park Ok Ran, a psychotic fan. The drama has been carefully shot to never reveal Mun Young’s mothers face in any of the flashbacks. She’s been strategically defaced in all the pictures except a toppled painting in the basement room. Convenient. The only evidence that links her to the murder is the clothes the culprit was wearing- the coat with the butterfly broach,  the pen used to stab her (that Park Ok Ran also immediately gravitated to in the office with Mun Young and stabbed her with on her birthday) and the language we hear the murder whisper to Sang Tae’s mom about “it is I who will take care of my child.”
All of those could have easily been stolen from the house by Park Ok Ran- who seems familiar enough with the place in the present day to find the basement room and move around unseen.
We have seen from Mun Young’s flashbacks that her mother was possessive and controlling of her daughter, but she controlled her by cruel emotional manipulations and threats, not murdering the kid at the gates. She had a chance to attack Kang Tae as a child, but she sent her daughter out to break his heart instead. Because she is horrible and wants her daughter to think and be just like her. But just because she wrote about murder doesn’t mean she committed one.
However, a crazed fan of murder mysteries that seeks, perhaps, to embody the life of their favorite author, or take over her life-might gravitate towards homicide. Was Park Ok Ran trying to take over Mun Young’s mother’s life? Did she get plastic surgery? Did she stalk her at her house, watch her daughter, steal her clothes? Did she mess with Mun Young’s father? Leading him - already clearly an unstable man who would choke out his child- to believe his wife was criminally insane and lock her up in the basement? Mun Young has clear memories of her mother bleeding from the head, there is a stain on the basement floor, did Park Ok Ran follow her down, finish the job or steal her away?
Everything in the present day- the way she messes with Mun Young’s dad by singing a song designed to frighten him, suggesting to Sang Tae that his brother wants to kill him, leaving threatening notes on Sang Tae’s art supplies and paying Mun Young an ominous visit, all seem like clues and parts of the plot of a murder mystery, more than a mother yearning to step back into her prior controlling role in her daughter’s life. Park Ok Ran - perhaps- got away with the perfect murder years ago and is planning the long awaited sequel.

timestamp anon again 👋🏻
tbh I quite liked v*ncenzo...it wasn't extraordinary and I didn't care for the romance, but it was for me a cathartic viewing experience with an enjoyable cast, and while some complained about the villain I actually counted it as a plus. like...yeah, evil is banal and childish. and OTC almost made me, long-time 2pm fan, forget who he is, he really did well. it definitely worked in its favour that I didn't quite have the time to watch it as it aired, and so I wound up watching it concurrent w t$xi driver, which just...infuriated me so much. if you are going to write a revenge fantasy do it with your whole chest! let your protagonists be morally not all there it's FINE!! god what a waste of a nearly-perfect cast (the taxi crew) that one was. nsnjsk
other than that...honestly yeah what did even air this year. I loved Move to Heaven & Doom at... — and that was about it? I'm a lousy LDH fan bc I haven't worked the courage to watch YoM yet, I just cannot bear a sad ending rn т т
what have you really liked this year? :o
.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH sunshine is back i was thinking about you ngl i need your help: please tell me on what episode dongyeon in v*ncenzo was wearing the round thin smart eunhyuk glasses? not the pink slutty ones that make him look like a h*e (I already know about it) but the ones that are smart? like thank you if you help me with it. you know how grateful i am to you!!!!!!!
I ALREADY GOT YOUR ANSWER I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU WILL GIF HIM RIGHT AWAY LOVEEEEEEEEEEE UUUUUUUUUUUU FOR REAL

001: Yona of the Dawn
My favorite character is probably Shin-ah, I love me a good cinnamon roll.
Least favorite is Su-won.
5 ships: Hakyona, Jae-ha x Hak, Lili x Tae-woo, Jae-ha x Zeno, Tetora x Ayura
The character I find most attractive is probably Yona or Hak.
I would honestly marry anyone in the DDHHB.
I’d be best friends with Yoon.
Random thought: I think of Yoon as non-binary.
Unpopular opinion: For those of us who read the manga we know part of the reason behind Su-won's actions now and I don’t believe this factor makes him redeemable or even helps to justify what he did. Honestly, to me, it was like he was trying to play the pity card as he’s been doing the entire series.
Canon OTP:  Hakyona
Non-canon OTP: Lili and Tae-woo
Most badass character: Yona, don’t even try to argue this with me.
Most Epic villain: Ying Kuelbo was the best so far.
I’m not a fan of the pairing of Shin-ah and Kija, like I get it, but I think of them in more a platonic way.
A character I feel the writers screwed up: Little Shin-ah did not deserve what those villagers did to him as a child, I guess all reincarnations of the Seiryuu got screwed over in that sense. Shoot the one that got left behind in the cave to die, him, he was emotionally destroyed. My heart goes out to you unnamed Seiryuu.
Favorite Friendship: Hak and Yona or Yona and Yoon. Really the dynamics in the friendship between the members of the DDHHB, but first are just both so great for different reasons. Hak is the childhood friend that always has her back, but also knows how to get under her skin and tease her, and she secretly loves it. Yoon’s just the mom friend and who doesn’t love their mom friend?
The character I most identify with: probably Zeno, I don’t care for the violence but I will destroy you if threaten my friends/family.
Character I wish I could be: Either Lili or Yona. I’d love to have their strength and tenacity.

Tell me what you saw

Cambio filtro. 😐
NOTE SPARSE:
L’orfanotrofio è prima o dopo i genitori? #misteridellafede
