I really need the NHL and it's teams to own up to the league wide issue of drug addiction amongst players.

Now is the time for this to be a focal point and a turning point in this league. One of the best goaltenders in the league has gone into the assistance program* not three(3) months after J.Hayes' untimely death, and with the new information of his CoD...

I'm horrified to see even a little into this problem, and I really don't want to see farther into the problem however that isn't an option anymore.

These players are people. We and the league need to start treating them as such and stop treating them only as assets in the game.

*The NHL & NHLPAa started the player assistance program circa 1996 to assists players and their families with mental health, substance abuse and other matters.
