I used Itsukai Gaming's video as a guide for this map. I unknowingly kept Warfarin on skill 2 instead of skill 1 as a result Saria got dangerously low on health.

Doki Doki Doma part 3
Demon Slayer
Pairing: Reader x Douma
Warnings: Morality Debates, song lyrics, ruining Demon Slayer Timeline, fluff, angst? I think that's called Angst IDK, Itsukai, Gender Neutral Reader, Spoilers
Previously Part 4
Song: Devil Like Me by Rainbow Kitten Surprise
Summery: You give into your stupid human heart, and reveal everything.
Story:
The worst thing out of this all, was Douma and his cult took care of you, treated you well, much better than the original Time or World you were from. It’s been a year since you were in the cult, yet you still couldn’t get a gauge of when in the Demon Slayer Universe you were. There were no newspapers connecting to the outside world.
How were you going to start this conversation?
Hey Douma! When was the last time you ate a Hashira?
You already showed acceptance of Demons, or at least him.
Hey Douma! Is Muzan looking for a couple of teens, one is a feral demon, while the other has Hanafuda earrings?
Have you by any chance eaten any beauties by the name of Kotoha lately?
Once again, you were lost in thought, this time, you were sitting outside during the full moon by the Pond, surrounded by plants. You had your eyes closed, and you were taking slow breaths in Meditation, hoping for an answer to be given to you.
That was a laugh, if anyone were to answer you, they would scream to run, and not assist Demons. All you could listen to was your twisted mind and heart.
Naturally Douma would pick this moment to find you. Eyes widening when he hears your voice sing out randomly. “Is the Devil so bad if he cries in his sleep while the earth turns, and his kids learned to say ‘fuck you’ they don’t love you~ Does the Devil get scared if she dies in her dreams while the earth burns, she cries cause she’s nothing like you, is she like you~” Douma stepped forward quietly enjoying the melody, “What do you want from a Devil like me, am I like you?~”
Douma resisted the urge to drag his fingers across your sides. “You are not like me Dove.” He moved to sit beside you. “Is something bothering you?”
You sat up straight, before you let out a small huff. Douma’s fingers found your wrist, he enjoyed just feeling your pulse, especially when it raced when he touched you. Honestly it wasn’t fair at all. “I…yes, something is bothering me, and I don’t know where to start…” Well it started, there was no going back.
“Is it your love for me?~” Douma teased, watched as you smiled, and felt your heart race.
Fucking doki doki go away.
“Well…I’ve already come to terms with it, but no it’s something else.” You rubbed your cheek against your own shoulder, “I…I need you to not be upset with me and let me explain something to you.”
Douma’s brows furrowed, “You could never upset me (Name)-san~ I promise you can tell me anything!” If it wasn’t your Undying love for him it had to be something huge, at least for your little brain anyway.
“I’ll reveal information, I just don’t need you to be on guard about it.” You felt his cool grasp tighten a little. “I…what Era is this?”
Douma tilted his head, “Taisho silly thing…” but his eyes narrowed.
“Have you killed a Flower Hashira?” You felt the Demon Tense.
“Yes.”
You took a deep breath, and he felt your pulse speed up dreading this one.“Does Muzan have you searching for a Boy with Hanafuda earrings and his Demon Sister on top of the Blue Spider Lilies? Maybe even a Lady Tamayo?”
“(Name)...” his hand felt colder.
“I thought you said I could never upset you, and could tell you anything.” you gave him a glance as he gave you a calculating stare. “I’m from the Future.”

Muzan's Daughter ch 2
Demon Slayer
Pairing: Unknown
Previously as Untitled Itsukai idea Chapter Three
Warnings: Asakusa Arc, violence, regaining memories, joining Tanjiro on his journey, Itsukai, blood drinking, limbs being blown off by Tamari, reference to eating Animals, Muzan's Daughter.
Summery: On your hunt to find Lady Tamayo, you end up finding Muzan, and a boy that leads you straight into breaking your curse and getting your memories back, and you end up joining him on his journey.
Story:
A few years passed. Anytime there were meetings, you were there in the background. Watching, listening.
The only people you would associate with however were the Upper Moons. Most mainly tolerated you. Douma was supposedly sincerely interested in being your friend, while Akaza was mildly concerned that none of the knowledge you had carried over. He associated with you as needed. Kokushibo was the same. Gyutarou and Daki had mixed feelings, more so like jealousy, that they would never voice more so from Daki than her Brother.
You didn’t understand the jealousy though.
You did what Muzan wanted you to do, if he asked you to starve, you did, if he asked you to jump, you did. You didn’t think you were affected by Muzan’s Curse, but you also never attempted to say his name either.
Your current mission was to find a Demon that somehow managed to slip away from his fingers, Lady Tamayo. You didn’t know much beyond that she was a frail looking beauty. You would travel throughout Japan never spending more than a night in each location. Never feed when you do. You didn’t need to draw attention to you of the Demon Slayers after all.
In one location you were extremely starving. The one thing you hated to do was hunt. You got so used to Muzan bringing you food that you had no stomach to kill people. Not that you voiced that to him. You were afraid to. Even as pretty the blood looked when it oozed out of bodies.
Animals were easier to get a hold on. Easier to sustain without drawing attention, although you just didn’t get back the strength you would if you ate a human. Muzan said eating animals gave nothing, and stated there was no point. If only to sustinate hunger. You didn’t think much beyond that.
Out of nowhere you found Muzan in the same town, you almost panicked. If he saw you had made no results in your search you could be punished. However, he was with a woman and what looked like a younger daughter. You felt jealousy flare up.
Why? Was it because he was holding a child, something you wouldn’t be able to do now that you were a demon? Was it because he never held you like that? Were you ever a child?
You watched as a boy pushed through the crowd in a green and black checkered Haori. Your eyes followed him as you watched the boy grab ahold of Muzan. There was a tense staring match going on, before Muzan turned away and smiled at the woman.
You watched as Muzan went to put an arm around his wife and behind them you saw blood fly. A very fluid and quick motion he made someone into a demon as a distraction.
The demon attacked a woman, the boy pushed forward to restrain the demon. Muzan and his family turned. Muzan never glanced in your direction. The boy screamed out Muzan’s name which made your eyes widen. “I’M NOT LETTING YOU GET AWAY! I WILL FOLLOW YOU TO THE ENDS OF HELL! I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!”
At this you rushed forward, this was too much attention. Local Police came to retrain the boy due to his sword, “NO! Get some ropes to restrain this man!”
You leaned forward and the boy finally caught your scent and froze, clenching the man tighter, “I’m sorry officers I’m afraid my brother had a night terror and doesn’t know what he…is doin…” You said with a smile distracting them, from nowhere a scent hit you. Super sweet, you felt weak. You stumbled as the demon beneath the boy calmed down as well.
You heard a woman, but you couldn’t make out what she was saying. When you came to you were in a house, in a bed, the man beside you was restrained, that was the demon Muzan had turned.
“Oh good, you’re awake.” You blinked, turning towards what seemed to be a beautiful woman, with dreamy looking eyes. “You were caught in my Demon Blood Art I used to calm the area. I do apologize. You seem to have an extraordinary amount of Muzan Kibutsuji’s blood. Do you mind if I take some of yours as a sample?”
She seemed kind and she was asking for permission. You nodded not understanding how it would help much. There was just something about her that was calming. Almost Mother-like in nature. The woman drew some blood, and gave you a smile. “You seem to be hungry, here.” She handed you a blood bag and you gave her an incredulous look, “I take blood donations as a doctor to help others and to feed.”
“Are you….Lady Tamayo?”
She gave you a look, “Yes I am.” She then paused looking back at you “You’re not one of the Kizuki?” You shook your head, you bit into the blood bag and drank from it as she injected you with something. Your eyes widened as memories flooded back to you, you jerked away from her. You gulped, tasting something copper flowing down your throat. You dropped the blood bag in realization and ran to grab a bucket and threw up in it. Tamayo gave a curious look, “I’ve never seen that happen before.”
You started tearing up. “Oh Kami…wait…Lady Tamayo?” You blinked looking around, that was the demon husband that Muzan turned. “Does that mean Tanjiro and Nezuko are here?” She removed Muzan’s Curse!
She blinked “Who are those two?”
“Lady Tamayo! I brought the Demon Slayer and his sister.” Tamayo watched as you paled at that.
“Who…are you…”
“I’m (Name), Muzan made me into a demon and gave me the name Rikka, and called me his daughter, he’s been feeding me Marechi’s when he can find them…I was a Marechi, somehow I am related to him literally.” Tamayo’s eyes widened.
“Lady Tamayo?” You heard again.
“I was found by Upper Moon two, I panicked thinking I was having a nightmare, because from where I am from this…world isn’t real. I mentioned Uppermoon Three, which got me in front of Muzan. I told them some things I knew would happen and with their backgrounds, He asked me about blue spider lilies, and that I was dying due to me being somehow related to him or his bloodline. I honestly do not know I’m confused as heck, and I just wanted to live…they think I’m from the future. Which I technically am…”
“I see, I…Please follow me.” Tamayo stated as the two of you started up the stairs. Once you reached the top step, your eyes widened seeing Tanjiro and Nezuko. Tanjiro frowned as he noticed you. Nezuko looked wearily at you.
“You’re the woman that smells like Kibutsuji, and went to help me?”
You shook your head, “At the time it was to restrain you from causing a scene, and possibly kill you…” His eyes widened, “Lady Tamayo removed Muzan’s Curse from me, and helped me gain back my memories. Forgive me.” You lowered your head.
“The reason she smells like Kibutsuji is because she is…somehow related and he turned her into a demon. She recalls her original human name, but it’ll be wise to continue calling her by her Demon name for now, Rikka. She is considered Muzan’s Daughter.” Tanjiro’s eyes widened.
You nodded, “He wanted me to hunt down Lady Tamayo and bring her to him.”
You noticed a mint haired boy about the same age as Tanjiro looking on edge at that. “LADY TAMAYO! We should get rid of her fast! Demon Slayer cut off her head!”
Tanjiro blinked as Tamayo glared at the boy, “YUSHIRO! I feel no ill will from her. Please behave around our guests.”
The boy sat cross legged and looked forward as if sparkling, “YES LADY TAMAYO!”
Talk about Whiplash. Tamayo sighed, “There are circumstances we shouldn’t talk about, but I believe she can be trusted for now…I just lifted the curse on her, and she vomited the blood I gave her up.”
Yushiro glared at you, “APOLOGIZE!”
“YUSHIRO! Enough. She’s been forced to eat people, so the shock with her memories probably wasn’t pleasant.”
You shivered, “Yeah…I…I don’t want to do that…I don’t even want to touch blood. Fuck, if he finds out about this…”
Tamayo placed a hand on your knee as you sat down, “He won’t.”
“Excuse me, you said blood?” Tanjiro questioned as Nezuko went to lay down on the floor between the four of you.
Tamayo nodded, “I’ve altered my body to no longer have to feed off of people in order to live. It is enough to drink a little human blood at a time. It’ll be the same for Rikka here. It may seem disgusting, but we buy blood from people in need of money, saying it’s for transfusions, of course we never take enough to harm. Yushiro needs even less blood than I do, and I made him a demon. It only took about two hundred years to learn how to do so.”
“GAH! HOW OLD ARE YOU?!” Tanjiro burst out, your eyes widened at the realization.
Yushiro punched Tanjiro, “DON’T ASK A WOMAN HER AGE YOU LOUT!”
“Yushiro! If you punch him again I won’t forgive you!”
“ALRIGHT!” He sat up straight looking proper.
“I only treat people with incurable illness or injuries so that they can live a little longer, and if they want to become demons.”
“Tamayo…Once people become demons, is there a way to make them human again?” Tanjiro questioned as you looked down to Nezuko.
You looked down at her, “May I pat your head?” Nezuko nodded and hummed as you started your minstrations.
“Every Injury and illness has a medicine or treatment, however at present making a demon human again is impossible. Nevertheless we want to establish a treatment. To do so we need to study a lot of demon blood. I want to ask two things of you. I want to examine your sister's blood, and I want you to get a sample of a demon with a high concentration of Kibutsuji’s blood. Right now, Nezuko is a rare and special condition, she slept for two years so her body must have changed during that time, usually if a Demon doesn’t ingest human flesh or animal meat for such a long time they will grow violent.”
Your eyes popped up, “So I can live off of animals?” Tanjiro noted your excitement.
Tamayo nodded, “of course!”
Why did it feel like you were forgetting something? Tanjiro smiled, “Studying the blood from many demons to make a medicine, if that is the only way to do it, then yes! It will help, not just Nezuko, but a lot of people right?”
She smiled, causing Cotton to float around Tanjiro, “Yes, you too Rikka.”
Your eyes widened in realization as you saw Yushiro jolt. “TAMARI!”
“GET DOWN!”
Tanjiro grabbed Nezuko flying to one side of the room while Yushiro grabbed Tamayo. As the balls started flying around the room bouncing and ricocheting you got in front of Yushiro and went to punch the Tamari to prevent him from getting his head knocked off, resulting in your arm being blasted instead, however the ball dropped to the floor.
“RIKKA!” Tanjiro yelled out. You hissed, holding onto your upper arm. “Nezuko! Get the sleeping woman back there somewhere safe!”
You hissed out as your arm regrown, “Yushiro, Lady Tamayo, are you two okay?”
Yushiro nodded, “yes!”
You flexed your fingers, “Yushiro, give Tanjiro your sight, he can’t see the arrows.”
Yushiro blinked as Tanjiro got into a stance to defend you all, “How do you know…”
“Don’t question, just do it!”
“You don’t tell me what to do, Woman!”
“Yushiro please…She just saved you.”
“YES!”
“So…the Demon Slayer with the hanafuda earrings…is you…” The demon questioned bouncing her Tamari off of the ground as she looked through the hole you made in the house.
“Tamayo! Fall back and hide! You too Rikka!”
“Tanjiro, don’t worry about us, we’ll be fine, we are demons after all.” Though it was sweet that he was considerate of you all.
“Demon Slayer! I’ll lend you my sight! Avoid the Arrows!” Yushiro announced throwing a written charm at Tanjiro’s head. Yes it was a tad early for this but you knew Tanjiro couldn’t afford to get hurt too badly. Or at least you didn’t want to be seeing him suffer.
“There is a second demon controlling the Tamari directions using the arrows.” You called out, pointing to the trees.
“You…Aren’t you his daughter? WHY ARE YOU WORKING WITH A DEMON SLAYER!?” You heard the girl screech out. Tanjiro’s eyes widened. “I one of the twelve Kizuki will take your lives!”
“Twelve Kizuki?” Tanjiro echoed
“She reports directly to Kibutsuji!” Tamayo exclaimed.
You glared at the girl, “Don’t make me laugh. You’re just assassins. No where near as powerful as the Kizuki you little Shits.”
“Why you little bitch…”
Nezuko went flying to kick the arrowed demon in the face, as the female grew more arms. You saw Nezuko go flying from the tree and you jumped to catch her. “Careful sweetheart.”
“Should I get their blood?” Tanjiro called out.
“Of course!”
Tanjiro came over to you and Nezuko, “Don’t overdo it, either of you.” Both of you nodded in response.
Yushiro looked over to Tanjiro, “Demon Slayer! Take out the arrow guy Me and and your sister will take the Tamari girl, Rikka, you defend Lady Tamayo!”
“RIGHT!” Everyone exclaimed.
Tanjiro took off after the Arrow demon who complained he was kicking up dirt into the air. You picked up a couple of rocks and flicked them into the directions of his hands. Nailing one of the eyes in a hand, and he cried out. Allowing Tanjiro to cut off his hands from the distraction.
“NO YOU MUSTN’T KICK IT!” You heard Tamayo cry out as Nezuko’s leg got blasted off by a tamari ball, and kicked by Susumaru as the other demon exclaimed. You jumped to catch Nezuko before she could slam into the back of the building. You carried her over to Tamayo. Turning to help Yushiro while Tamayo injected Nezuko.
You growled getting up into Susumaru’s face and punched her in the jaw. Distracting her from attacking Yushiro, who in turn used this time to cloak himself to do some sneaky maneuvers. “He’s going to slaughter you.” She growled back at you.
You snuck in a smirk, “Promises, promises. Don’t make them if you can’t keep them.” You went to kick her only for a Tamari to hit you in the lower back, cutting you in half. Tanjiro managed to cut the Arrow demon’s head off, but was pulled by his arrows. You started to shuffle back when Yushiro grabbed you to drag you away. Nezuko had kicked a Tamari at Susumaru. Who simply caught it.
You grunted, “Lady Tamayo, do you have more of what you gave Nezuko? It’s been a while since I fed and I threw up what you gave me…” you asked as you tried to work on regrowing your lower half.
Tamayo nodded, “Of course!” They pulled you into the building to administer the shot while Nezuko played Kickball with Susumaru. She injected you with the same thing she gave Nezuko, “Stay here till you recover.” Tamayo left the house again to talk to Susumaru.
You were thinking hard about the situation. Tamayo should be using her blood art to trick Susumaru into talking about Kibutsuji. You started to feel woozy. “Yushiro…Tanjiro…human…” you muttered out knowing Yushiro heard you speaking.
Yushiro’s eyes widened and quickly took a cloth out of his pockets, and slapped it over Tanjiro’s mouth and nose, “Don’t breathe in Lady Tamayo’s Blood Art or you’ll die!”
You felt your bottom half regrow, however you were still out of it in general. You heard Tamayo talking but you couldn’t catch it. Yushiro helped you down to the basement, and soon Nezuko followed in. You and Nezuko laid beside each other while the blood art left your systems.
You came to your senses and found Nezuko nuzzling you. You felt like you were bestowed the greatest honor life could have given you. You heard footsteps, which perked up Nezuko’s attention as well. She instantly jumped up and went running. You chuckled thinking it would be Tanjiro.
You got up with the aid of Yushiro, which you thanked him for. Nezuko ran to hug Tanjiro as he came down the stairs. She then turned and rushed over to you and Tamayo and gave the both of you a large hug as Tanjiro called out for her. All demons but Nezuko being confused. Yushiro, jealous and horrified, then irritated when Nezuko patted him on the head which made you snicker.
Tamayo was however concerned, “She’s been like this for a while now, is this normal?”
Tanjiro gave. Small smile, “It’s alright, she probably thinks of you all as part of our family.”
Tamayo was even more confused. “But doesn't hypnosis only make humans look like family? We’re demons.”
“STOP THAT!” Yushiro tried to prevent Nezuko from continuing to pat him on the head.
“She must see you as humans, and that is why she tried to protect you.” Nezuko’s grip left you and focused on Tamayo, and you saw the shock hit her like a bag of bricks. “At first I didn’t like the idea of it, but I’m glad she still has her own free will…” He watched as Tamayo started to cry, “GAH! I’M SO SORRY NEZUKO! LET GO OF HER THAT’S RUDE!”
Tamayo only pulled her in tighter, “Thank you Nezuko…thank you…” Which confused Tanjiro.
You walked forward, “It’s the fact that she accepts them as Humans, and that they are worth protecting. You get so used to being seen as a monster that anything else is a shock.” Tanjiro’s eyes widened in realization. “Let them have this moment.” You said with a smile. He nodded sharply.
As time went on, and they stopped hugging, Tamayo turned to you three. “We are leaving this city. We came too close to Kibutsuji, and if we don’t hide ourselves soon, it’ll be too dangerous. Although we are well hidden as a doctor, we also deal with humans, and sooner or later, someone would notice we are Demons, children and elderly are particularly sharp. Tanjiro?”
“Yes!?” You watched the boy stare up at Tamayo in Awe.
“May we take care of Nezuko? I can’t say she’ll be safe, but the danger would be less if she went into battle with you.”
Tanjiro paused in thought before Nezuko grabbed his hand, looking at him with determination. He nodded in response, “Thank you for the offer, but we will continue to travel together. We aren’t going to split up! Never again!”
Tamayo nodded in response. “And you? Rikka…”
You winced. “I’m too recognizable to be with you two, as you two are making a vaccine. As much as I would love to aid and assist this, It’s going to be clear to Kibutsuji that I have escaped his grasp. He isn’t going to be happy once so ever. Plus for now I think I’ll go by my human name again. There are only three demons that know it…granted higher up but still…”
“I understand your dilemma.”
Tanjiro looked at you in thought, “You can come with me and Nezuko!”
Cotton floating around your head. You started to giggle hard, causing everyone to look at you funnily. You threw a hug around the boy, with him blushing as his head hit your chest. “You are a sweetheart, you truly are Tanjiro. But You have enough on your shoulders, one demon is one thing. Traveling with two? Not sure how the Demon Corps would appreciate that.”
Tanjiro pulled away from you with a determined glare. “If they can’t tell a Good demon from a bad demon then the Corps shouldn’t exist!”
This time you had tears in your eyes. If you went with them, what would that mean for their future? Then again Tanjiro is clearly injured, you weren’t able to prevent him from that. But he’s going to be heading off, meeting Zenitsu and Inosuke. “You also forget Boyo, the sun exists.”
Tanjiro’s face fell so hard that he ended up bowing onto the floor. “I’M SO SORRY! I FORGOT FOR A SECOND!” You chuckled as he paused in thought, “Wait, so you would If you could?”
“I…” You had a black sheet thrown over you. You blinked in response.
“What,…she doesn’t need to see to travel.” Yushiro muttered. Nezuko only tugged at your sleeve as you pulled the sheet back off, You looked down and watched as she shrunk herself to a toddler size and motioned to the box.
You frowned at that, “Won’t that be cramped for you?” Nezuko only hummed, and tugged again. You took a deep breath, and felt yourself shrink down, and stumble, before following her into the box, of which ended up with you and her cuddling each other.
Tamayo gave a small smile, “I pray for your good fortunes in War and Travels. We will erase all traces of our presence here. You three should as well.”
“Alright!” Tanjiro moved to close the box and throw it onto his back, oddly enough the box was oddly comfortable. You couldn’t help but to think this is how being in a Pokeball was like.
Yushiro looked like he was struggling with something which you couldn’t see. “Tanjiro…Your sister is beautiful.”
Oh how you wished you could see his smile. “Let's go!” Setting forth on your new adventure. Tanjiro not feeling the least bit hindered by your weight.

Devil's Backbone Preview
Demon Slayer Pairings still figuring it out, debating on a CYOA situation Reader x Gyutarou(Platonic), Reader x Daki(Smut) probably not both cause I don't see them sharing, but I also don't want to imagine that. Or neither.
Inspiration: Devils Backbone by The Civil Wars
Warnings: 18+ due to Red Light District, Nothing in the preview. Itsukai. No Right Choices. Multiple routes, cause I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with or against the storyline of Demon Slayer. AFAB Reader, MDNI
Also on Ao3 In Demon Slayer Story Ideas
Summery: The reader is an English Speaker that somehow finds their way into the Demon Slayer Universe, only she doesn't know where she is yet, only that it's 1910. Breaking into an abandoned home, she finds herself in need of money, and goes to the streets to sing a song from 2013. She gains the attention of a Certain Demon, which reveals to her what Universe she's in.
English text indicated (Bold and italicized ) Japanese text indicated (Normal)
Story:
You didn’t know how you came across this universe. You weren’t too fond of where you were, but it’s not like you had a choice of things. You were in Yoshiwara. The Entertainment District. You were foreign, and barely knew the language. You had broken into an abandoned house, and took a tattered Kimono. You weren’t even sure if you were wearing it correctly.
You had to make money somehow, maybe get a new Kimono, and not look like a Begger. You would come back to the same abandoned house and sleep on the tattered futon.
Maybe you could sing for some change? The only songs you knew were from the future, 2022, not this, According to the papers, if you translated the dates correctly 1910.
You took a pot from the abandoned house, and you sat down on the side of the road, pretty sure it was frowned upon to do so. “Oh Lord, Oh Lord, what have I done? I've fallen in love with a man on the run. Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I'm begging you please, Don't take that sinner from me, Oh don't take that sinner from me!~” you started nervously, yet the voice never waivered. Sure, most likely no one here understood English, but one thing that carried was tones, music.
You kept your eyes closed, as you continued on, not even noting the small crowd gathering around you. “Oh Lord, Oh Lord, what do I do? I've fallen for someone who's nothing like you, He's raised on the edge of the devil's backbone, Oh I just wanna take him home, Oh I just wanna take him home. Oooooh!~” Your voice carried, almost hauntingly.
It was dusk, it was time for those to be heading to the ladies of the night. From the distance there was a pair of mismatched eyes staring at your form as your voice seemed to envelop him. “Oh Lord, Oh Lord, he's somewhere between, A hangman's knot, and three mouths to feed, There wasn't a wrong or a right he could choose, He did what he had to do, Oh he did what he had to do, Oooooh!~”
Whispering came closer and closer, and you heard dings of metal falling into the pot. Hopefully you could afford to eat something later. You started to hit your fist against your knee to what you remembered was the beat of the song. “Give me the burden, give me the blame. I'll shoulder the load, and I'll swallow the shame, Give me the burden, give me the blame. How many, how many Hail Mary's is it gonna take?~”
More dings hit the pot. You stopped hitting your knee and dropped to a lower voice. “Don't care if he's guilty, don't care if he's not. He's good and he's bad and he's all that I've got. Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I'm begging you please, Don't take that sinner from me, Oh don't take that sinner from me!~”
More dings, and people applauded, you moved into a bow, bowing to those who threw change in your pot. “Thank you very much.” you said in Japanese. The crowd dispersed, and you took your pot and took off back to the abandoned house. Not noticing that you had a stalker.
You sat cross legged on the Futon, trying to figure out how to count the bills and coins you had collected. You sorted everything that looked similar. “Fuck…I feel like a child…” not noticing when the door opened and shut quietly.
“Is that English?”
You jumped hearing the voice, startled. You looked up, finding a lanky man skin and bones, with mismatched eyes that were written on, and green hair. Your eyes widened realizing it was Gyutaro. From Demon Slayer. You were in the Demon Slayer Universe. You did not need the Demon to hand you over to Muzan. “Ye-yes. I speak English. My Japanese is bad…” You blushed admitting the weakness in the language. “Um…could…could you help me Sir? I…don’t know the currency and what I earned.”
Gyutaro tilted his head. Were you not afraid of him? Perhaps you didn’t know any better, especially since you were squatting in what used to be his home long ago. If he wasn’t mistaken, that was one of his mothers old Kimonos. He was shocked it held up as well as it did. He knelt down reaching his hands out to count. You watched as his boney fingers reached out. You gulped. And he grinned at that, you were scared. “I was starting to think you didn’t fear me…”

A year or so passed, and my lungs burned. Kaigaku has been gone for a while, sending a crow from time to time.
Pft seems like a waste of time but fine…
Was his only response when Kuwajima and I requested him to. I haven’t lost weight, though I did trade out some fat for muscle. But I still looked overweight. I don’t mind it. I’ve gotten stronger and faster. So my advantage in any situation would be to use the knowledge of them underestimating me to my advantage.
Kuwajima agreed with me on the mask situation, finding it more intelligent to rely on my other senses due to my nearsightedness. I designed a typical Oni Mask without eyeholes, however nose holes and a mouth hole to not get as sweaty while wearing it and one broken off horn, other short and stubby. Black and red not really fitting anything else I was wearing. .
And this is where I found myself, standing close by to Zenitsu on Mount Fujikasane. I stood with my sword at my hip, while waiting for the rest of the examinees. Zenitsu shaking in his sandals, I grabbed his shoulder accidentally scaring him. “GAH! RIKKA ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?!”
I gave him a soft smile, “Zenitsu, you will be fine. Please have more faith in yourself.”
Zenitsu blinked feeling all fuwafuwa, “Easy for you to say!” He wiggled in place, “I’m going to die!~”
I frowned, my hand tightened. “We’ll stick together as long as we can, I trust you to have my back.”
Zenitsu furrowed his eyebrows in shock, “Wait…you do?”
I nodded, “Of course, I have no doubt we’ll make it through this.” Zenitsu only looked up at you in awe.
Finally I watched as the last person walked up, and the first thing I noticed was the scar on his forehead. My eyes widened! TANJIRO! Wait, that means OH! KANAO and GENYA. I squealed a little fangirl squeal and Zenitsu deadpanned, “What….are you doing?”
I coughed, laughing nervously while rubbing the back of my neck, “Sorry. I just…got excited.” I’m sure a grown ass adult fangirling over teens was weird as fuck.
I noticed Tanjiro handling some Wisteria branches as if admiring them, when I heard one of the children start speaking. “Greetings everyone. Thank you for gathering for Tonight for Final Selection.” Everyone's heads snapped to the children's direction. They were both holding a paper lantern, one had white hair, the other had black. Both had Wisteria decorating their hair. “Mount Fujikasane holds Demons that Demon Slayer Swordsmen have taken alive and trapped here.” the black haired one finished.
The White haired child continued, “Demons hate Wisteria Flowers, which bloom here even out of season. They cover the mountain from its foot to half way up the slope.”
The both of them then talked in synchronicity. “However, from this point on, the Wisteria does not bloom. So the Demons roam free there. You must survive for seven days. If you do, then you will have passed the Final Selection.” I heard Zenitsu gulp, “Now Go.”
I gave him a firm nod as someone zoomed past me fast, blinking I could have sworn I saw fur? Inosuke? Well they did say he was the first in and out. Zenitsu’s eyes widened, “WAS THAT A MONSTER?!”
I deadpanned, “Probably another applicant. Lets go.” I secured my mask over my face, completely blinding myself to the outside world. I started to walk forward, and Zenitsu rushed after me.
“Do you really think it’s wise to blind yourself like this?” Zenitsu questioned after a while walking into the trees, being lucky enough to not find any Demons yet.
I hummed, “Probably not, but my eyesight is weak unless I’m in close combat, I need to strengthen my other senses.”
Walking forward again, Zenitsu grabbed at my Haori and tugged me backwards sharply. “WATCH OUT!”
I could vaguely see something beyond my mask in my mind. Zenitsu ran away without a thought, thinking I was behind him, I pulled out my Katana and focused On sharpening that image.
“FRESH MEAT!”
A sound, the image in my head lunged out at me, I lowered my sense of gravity and swung upwards.
“HOW THE FUCK!?” the image disappeared in my head.
I raised my mask, noting I was alone, “Great…ZENITSU!” I yelled out, biting my lip I sighed. He must have thought the best thing to do was run. The point of this was to survive, but technically one didn’t need to fight if they could help it.
But what was it I just saw right now? Was that the Transparent World? I thought I needed to have a Slayer mark for that. After I get done with this I definitely need to recheck my body.
I slid the mask back over my face. It would be useless for me to chase after the boy. I just had to pray that I didn’t run into the Hands Demon yet.
The sun slid into night, I hadn’t been lucky enough to find another Demon. Then again, It was lucky to not find one either. Maybe Kanao, Genya or Inosuke was going ham.
I felt a lot more tired, and colder, due to my hypothyroidism. I needed to try to push myself, stay awake till morning. I can deal with the chills. I let out a large yawn, as I felt air move around me, I jumped backwards as an image appeared, a demon snake-like.
“Hm…you look like a nice meal…”
I felt a muscle spasm, in my hand as I reached for the hilt of my katana, whipping it out and almost dropping it. Fuck I haven’t had those in a while I nearly forgot about those. I steaded the Katana with my other hand after drawing it out, Focus. The Demon was slithering around me.
“You’re not one of those kids either…”
I frowned, why was it taking it’s time to attack…unless it was laying a trap? Snakes coil, some have venom. The image in my mind expanded a little, the organs of it’s body, it was long, and it was slowly surrounding me.
THERE! The snake had lunged itself at my midsection, I jumped upwards, swinging the sword down, head decapitated.
I walked over to a tree and leaned against it allowing myself to slide down to the roots. I could feel the warmth of the sun as it started to rise. I tried to get a little rest in, when I felt a hand on my shoulder. My hand gripped at the Katana before relaxing into the warmth. Just one of the kids.
“Hey, are you alright?” I knew that voice!
I nodded, lifting my mask up a little to verify that it was Tanjiro. “I’m fine, I’m just resting…I have a hard time functioning when I haven’t slept.” It was him and he seemed injured. Hands Demon must have been dealt with.
The boy blinked seeing the tears in my eyes, but he could smell that I wasn’t sad. “Not wise to sleep out in the open like that. I’m Kamado Tanjiro!”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Mitsukai Rikka.” I yawned again, wiping away the tears with the sleeve of my haori. “I was traversing with a friend but we got split up.”
Tanjiro’s eyes widened, “I see! Do you have a breathing style?” He gave a kind smile as he moved to sit beside me, reaching into a bag and offering you some Onigiri.
I nearly purred, “Tanjiro, you’re a godsend, Thank you.” I smiled back, taking the onigiri, “No, I don’t have a breathing style. I studied under a Thunder Breathing Master, but I couldn’t grasp the basics. I took a bite of the onigiri and nearly drooled, “Delicious!”
Tanjiro hummed confused, “I thought you had to have a Breathing Style to become a Demon Slayer.”
I shook my head, “Master Kuwajima said it’s decently common to not have a breathing style, or I just didn’t…Vibe with Thunder breathing…” I saw him blink and I realized I spoke English. I laughed, “Sorry I’m foriegn. I most likely wasn’t mean to learn Thunder, but I might be able to learn other styles. He told me to work on Concentration Breathing for now.”
“OH! Where are you from?” He looked over to me with interest as I finished my rice ball. Feeling a second wind, I took note of his injuries.
I stood up to look for a stick to help brace his leg. “America.”
“Whoa! That far?!” Tanjiro’s eyes widened at that. “Did you travel here to become a Demon Slayer? Are there Demon’s in America?”
I smiled softly at his rapid questions. “I…didn’t travel here, it’s hard to explain, I just woke up here one day, I figured my best chance to make it home and why I woke up here was to become a Slayer. And honestly I have no idea, I didn’t know demons existed till I woke.” I picked up a sturdy stick as Tanjiro tried to stand up, I shook my head “Don’t! I don’t want you to agitate your injuries more than you should, here…” I walked back over, and leaned down, before cutting off a long piece of my haori.
I felt bad, the boys did get it for me and all, but it was necessary. I laid the stick next to his leg,and started to wrap the cloth around his leg. Glancing up I checked his head, it was bandaged, but red, “Want me to check your head too?”
Tanjiro shook his head, “It’ll be fine, just a cut. At worst it’ll scar.”
I frowned at that, “are you sure?”
Tanjiro just smiled in return, “I’m sure, thank you for worrying!” he patted beside him back to where I used to be sitting, “Rest up for now, I’ll keep watch!”
I nearly cried, “You are a sweetheart, thank you so much~” I went to sit down, “IF nothing happens wake me in an hour or so, I’ll keep watch for your nap.”
Tanjiro only nodded in response, “Of course!”
I dozed off, as if a brick hit my head.
Dream:
“Sir! I’m telling you this is preventable! Send Mitsuri and Kocho on this mission! Send Uzui with Rengoku and the kids! Just don’t let him be the only Hashira on this mission!”
“Yes…I have heard of your circumstances. I’ve seen what you are talking about before Kyojuro even became a Flame Pillar. I however have not seen any visions of you.”
I growled at that, “I don’t care about myself! If you don’t do anything, you’re going to lose one of your strongest advantages against Muzan!”
“And If I do that…then those kids won’t become as strong as they are supposed to. They won’t have the drive to get rid of him.”
“He…is a pawn to you?!”
“Rikka…wake up…” /endDream
“Rikka! You’re having a nightmare!” I felt myself shaken awake by Tanjiro who looked worried.
I rubbed my eyes groaning, looking up to the sky, the sun was high. “Noon…Sorry I didn’t mean to sleep that long.”
Tanjiro smiled, “It’s fine, some demons attacked from the Shade, but I dealt with them. Do you want to talk about your dream?”
I shook my head, “Nothing that I can remember, you rest up. I’ll keep watch.” Tanjiro nodded, laying back against the tree while I stood up to lean against it as I lowered my mask once more. What was I dreaming about?
I shook my head and allowed Tanjiro to sleep, about an hour or so in, the two of us were visited by Genya, who looked taken aback by the fact that you were watching over Tanjiro as he slept. “Why are you two being lazy!” he growled out, obviously exhausted.It’s what? The third day now and he looks like he hadn’t slept yet. His eyes were looking wild, though I couldn’t see him. I could tell by his Aura? Energy?
“He watched over me, I’ll watch over him for a couple of hours. Would you like to get some sleep? I’ll make sure no demons interrupt.” I said softly, causing the boy to go red in, I assumed anger.
“Like Hell am I going to slack off and sleep!” almost high pitched running off.
I blinked and facepalmed my mask. He didn’t realize I was a woman. I had been slouching, and my Haori covered my chest. A few more hours passed without issue. I kneeled down and gently shook Tanjiro, “Wake up Boyo.”
The rest of the days flew by like that. Minor Demon Inconveniences. Tanjiro asks them about turning a Demon back into a human. I even helped out, by trapping Demons without him asking. Moving to leave the forest, he explained about his sister, and that was why he was asking, I simply raised my mask and gave the boy a smile, “You don’t need to explain anything. If you need help, let me know.”
Tanjiro gave me a grateful smile. Thanking me.
Offering him to lean on me for support, but he shook his head. I thoughtlessly started to sing. “The Road to hell along the way, is paved with good intentions, so they say~ And some believe that no good deed, goes unpunished in the end or so it seems.So when the day comes and the sun won’t touch my face, tell the ones who care enough that I’ve finally left this place…That’s been so cold~”
The song sounded haunting to Tanjiro even if he didn’t know what you said. “English song?”
I blinked, rubbing the back of my neck. “Uh, yeah, sorry about that.”
Tanjiro only smiled, “It’s fine, you sing well!”
The two of us finally stepped into the sun again, “Welcome back.” Stated the two children in unison. “Congratulations, we are glad you two are safe.” Some reason they startled me.
My eyes glanced through the clearing, even though I knew Zenitsu survived my eyes lit up, I ran over to the teen picking him up in a hug as he was muttering how he’d die. His face lit up when he realized who I was. “RIKKA?!”
I put him back on the ground and bonked him in the head, “No more of the depressing talk Boyo.”
“WHERE IS MY COLOR CHANGING KATANA?!”
I couldn’t help but to deadpan at that. This was going to be painful to watch. “First we will provide your Corps uniform, we will take measurements and then engrave your rank.” stated the white haired child.
“There are ten ranks, Kinoe Kinoto, Hinoe, Hinoto, Tsuchinoe, Tsuchinoto, Kanoe, Kanoto, Mizunoe, and Mizunoto, the two children took their turns saying the names. “Right now, you are all Mizunoto Rank.”
“Where's my Katana?” Genya growled out. I clenched my eyes shut, can I really stand by while he manhandles a kid?
“Today you will choose the ore for your sword, then it will take up to two weeks for the Katana to be finished.” The white haired girl replied, exercising a lot of patience. “Then we will assign you a Kasugai Crow.”
The birds descended and mine was a fucking Owl. It landed on my shoulder awkwardly and pecked at my mask. Zenitsu deadpanned, “Crows? This is a Sparrow and she got a Eurasian Eagle Owl.” But it was something that went without being heard.
Genya slapped away his crow, “I don’t care about Crows!” It happened way too fast, Zenitsu caught the crow, while Genya walked over punching the white haired girl in the face before grabbing her hair. I winced fuck I can’t stand by with this! “I WANT MY KATANA AND I WANT IT NOW THE COLOR CHANGING KATANA!”
One thing I couldn’t stand to watch was this. Tanjiro rushed forward grabbing his arm, while I went to grab his Mohawk, but I stopped, I wouldn’t be any better than him. “If you don’t let go of them I’ll break your arm.”
“JUST WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! TRY IT!”
I sighed as I heard a crack, Genya let go of the girl’s hair. Zenitsu cried out cause he heard Genya’s arm break, I took the bandana out of my hair and bent down to clean the girl’s face of blood, “Are you okay Sweetheart?” She looked up at me with wide violet eyes and nodded.
While their sibling spoke up. “Are you done talking? Then come over here and please choose the ore for making your Katana. Choose for yourself the sword that'll kill demons and protect you.” I twitched, shouldn’t he care more that his sister was just assaulted?
Just as I went to walk over to the table, Zenitsu followed grumbling. “I'm probably going to die soon anyway.” I hit him lightly in the head. “WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!”
“You need more confidence in yourself! No more of that!” I scolded him as Tanjiro and Kanao got their ores. My eyes narrowed on a smaller ore, I picked it up without thinking and realized how warm it felt in my hands.”OH!” I moved to pull a paper out of my pocket. Causing Zenitsu to give me a look. “Design I had in mind for my weapon. I hope it’s not too much trouble!” I bowed to the black haired boy, and went to hand him the ore and paper.
However he shook his head, “Give it to your owl, and it’ll fly off to the swordsmiths.”
I blinked. “Oh…alright!”
Zenitsu only dropped his jaw. “Wait…one we could have designed our own sword?! And two HOW DO YOU EXPECT A SPARROW TO CARRY THIS!?”
I sighed looking to my owl, “Are you fine with carrying two ores for Zenitsu and me?”
“Hoooooo!” and a nod of the head. It rubbed its head against my hair before it took off.
I looked to Zenitsu, “Honestly I have no idea if I could or not, but I figured it didn’t hurt to ask.”
We were handed our Uniforms, and somehow we had our hands engraved, which I didn’t recall happening. Together we went back to Kuwajima. I thought he would be a little more excited to see us or at least Zenitsu.
“I’M NOT EXPRESSING GRATITUDE UPON YOUR RETURN CAUSE I KNEW YOU WOULD COME BACK! Now, come eat…I’m sure you two could use a Hotpot…”

Summery: Last night I said an Affirmation to connect me to the dimension of my Best and Highest Good, However I thought nothing of it, today I work on my PC only to get Electrocuted and travel into what seemed to be Demon Slayer and found by Kuwajima. Can I find a way back to my original World via becoming a Demon Slayer? Can I find Answers as to why I am now here? STAY TOONED!
Chapter One: Madness is the Gift That Has Been Given
Story:
I sighed as I turned to work on my Computer, determined to get it working after it died five months prior. I missed playing games, talking to friends etc, instead I lived off of a tablet, which wasn’t a bad thing. But I missed being able to multitask a lot of stuff on one device.
I put on my knock off Airpods and started to listen to Staind, Disturbed, casual Tove Lo, random anime and a lot of other miscellaneous music I had downloaded onto my Iphone. My one sister was helping take care of my older disabled sister. She was usually my responsibility, but I didn’t need her to electrocute herself by accident on my account.
I’m tired and have been testing out replacing different parts, at this point it would be more beneficial to rebuild or buy a new PC all together. However my dumbass decided to keep the PC plugged in, cause it was annoying having to go back and forth to plug and unplug it from time to time just to test things out.
I sighed looking down at my copy of Stories of Water and Flame, and shook my head. No, I could reread that once I was done. I used an orange bandana to cover my hair and keep it out of my face, and went back to work. I reached over with my screwdriver and accidentally tapped the metal of a loose wire, giving me a shock and falling backwards onto the floor.
I don’t know how long I lost consciousness.
I woke up to Disturbed Get Down with the Sickness. Line? Madness is the gift that has been given to me!
Yeah that was about right when I looked around. Grass? trees …Peach trees? I looked at myself, I was still wearing my red button up flannel, and jeans, and mismatched green and pink socks. My byzantine chainmaille necklace is still around my neck, Pods still upside down in my ears, phone in my pocket. I felt a sharp pain in my head, and I hissed and grabbed at it, “Fuck that hurts…”
I took my phone out to see if I could find where I was at. No service. “Of course…” I groaned, turning on the GPS, knowing that was one feature that would work without service. However I looked dumbly at my screen.
Why does this say I’m in Japan?
Yes exactly what I needed, to be kidnapped and whisked away to a foriegn country most likely to be put in a Hunger Games, or Battle Royale situation. Feeling the ground around me, I found a book, I grasped it as I adjusted my glasses to read the cover, and it was my cover of Stories of Water and Flame.
Odd thing for my captives to bring with me, the least they could have done is grabbed a damn knife!
Then again if Captive they wouldn’t want me to defend myself anyway. Probably thought my short ass at 190 pounds would be a free kill anyway.
Good thing my cousin took the time to teach me how to knock a taller person on their ass a few years back. Or at least a six foot two person anyway. Using the compass app I moved till I was facing North. If my GPS was correct, I was north of Yokohama and south of Tokyo?
Shit the Sun was setting too, you needed to find shelter. This wasn’t good. What would I do in Minecraft or ARK Survival Evolved?
Well that’s dumb cause I would have to punch a rock, and I’d have another reason to cry. I turned my phone off to preserve battery life, and put the ear buds in my pocket.
Well At least there were no dinosaurs…right?
…right?
I shook my head of the thought. “Okay Rikka, step one of any survival game stone hatchet, pick, torch and campfire.”
So get a few decent sized branches, a few decent looking rocks, maybe tear off a piece of my flannel for burnable material. I don’t think I knew enough to make proper twine out of plant fiber. Might be my downfall there.
Regardless, I went around gathering materials, getting them together for a campfire, which I surprisingly made a decently quick fire, the fire was surrounded by stones, so hopefully it wouldn’t get out of hand.
Using a sharp rock I split one end of a branch and stuck it inside the split. I quickly glanced at my clothes to see which had more excess, and it was clearly my pant legs. These pants were not made for a woman shorter than five feet.
I was trying to use a sharp rock to cut off the excess of my jeans, when my head shot up from hearing footsteps.
“Are you okay?” The man held a cane in one hand, a sword in his belt, and a familiar Triangle patterned jinbei kimono, his right leg seemed to be a peg leg? Cosplayer?
I frowned as he repeated it. I recognized he was asking me if I was alright. What was it that my ex-Japanese teacher said? When unsure, just make an ‘eh’ sound and twist your hand back and forth? Gosh I shouldn’t have dropped that class even if he had me embarrassing myself with singing the Sailor Moon theme song in Japanese. “Eeeh…” and I twisted my hand hoping to indicate more or less.
“It’s starting to get dark out here, come follow me.”
Okay Now that I know nothing. Yeah I should have stayed in my Japanese class even if the teacher humiliated me. “Sorry, I do not know Japanese.” I responded which made the man raise his thick gray eyebrows. I celebrated, at least knew how to say that, and I didn’t accidentally throw in any Spanish!
He pointed at himself, “I am Kuwajima Jigoro, ex-Thunder Hashira.”
NAME! And the word Hashira! HE'S SERIOUS OH GOD I’M IN DEMON SLAYER. “When I said that affirmation last night to connect me to the dimension for my best and highest good I did NOT mean this!” I shook my head, making the man confused. I then pointed to myself. “Mitsukai Rikka.”
Kuwajima nodded, repeating my last name, he held his free hand out, and opened and closed his hand to motion to follow. “Come with me. Demons hunt at night,” He paused and picked up the Manga I had left on the ground, he frowned looking at the flame haired man, but tucked it into his Kimono sleeve.
I gulped, not noticing him pick it up, however agreeing to follow him after putting out the fire. I definitely understood the word demons.
Yeah this is NOT my best and highest good.
However the olderman led me to his estate, where a couple of boys were bickering with wood in their arms. My eyes widened in realization, that these two teens were Zenitsu and Kaigaku.
Oh god, this was as everything was unfolding. Kaigaku shoved Zenitsu out of the way to get into the estate, leaving a twitching black haired Zenitsu. However, with hearing footsteps Zenitsu looked up, “Welcome back Gramps! Oh who is this?”
“Mitsukai Rikka. She doesn’t know Japanese, I found her fumbling around with a homemade hatchet, so I figured I’d give her shelter before she became Demon Fodder.”
I glanced over to Kuwajima as he said my name, and back to Zenitsu. “I am Agatsuma Zenitsu, please call me Zenitsu!”
Okay this was him saying to call him Zenitsu. “Rikka.” I replied with a nod.
“Slowpoke, the hell are you doing, get that firewood in here!”
“Kaigaku, what have I told you about respect!” Kuwajima raised his voice, causing the other raven haired boy to peak out the door and his eyebrows furrowed at me. “This is Mitsukai Rikka, she will be staying with us till she gets her footing, or decides to train with you guys. Tomorrow I’ll be sending you two to get some books to teach her Japanese. I believe I heard her speak in English. She knows some Japanese but it’s not much, seems to be a quick learner.”
Kaigaku shrugged, “Don’t care as long as she stays out of my way.”
“You boys gather the wood for the night?” Kuwajima questioned Zenitsu as he nodded brightly. “Good, I’ll get a hotpot started, you take that load in, and show Rikka to her room.”
”Of course! Follow me Rikka!” I tilted my head, but recognized the words Kuwajima said earlier. I nodded and followed Zenitsu, through the building, and he slid open a door, “This will be your room! There should be a spare Yukata as well! I’ll be back when the food is finished!”
Rather some food was brought to me as opposed to sharing a hot pot with them. A small amount of rice, some Miso soup, and a small loaf of bread. Upon finishing, I took the dishes out and washed them in a sink before going back. I got dressed in the provided Yukata, and noticed someone pulled out a Futon for me. For now they seemed to be giving me space?
I sighed. At least it was no Hunger Games, or Battle Royale. No Dinosaurs. But Demons…Not sure if that was the upside of things.

Doki Doki Douma Part 4
Demon Slayer
Pairing: Reader x Douma
Warnings: ruining Demon Slayer Timeline, slight fluff, angst, Itsukai, Gender Neutral Reader, Spoilers, Dark turn of events, Shit gets fucked
Previously
Summery: Deciding that you were no different than the rest of Humanity and their stupidity, what would it hurt helping out Demons?
Story:
Luckily Douma heard you out, he seemed to give a look of indifference, which if you were honest, you prefered him faking his Emotions. “Why have you kept this information to yourself?” He asked coldly.
You took a deep breath. “I was afraid you would hand me to Muzan right away…and I preferred to be cozy in your Cult…figured as long as you decided not to eat me, that I was…somewhat safe.”
“Why now?”
You clenched your hands, “I DIDN’T EXPECT TO FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU OF ALL PEOPLE!” You yelled out taking the Demon by surprise as your heart fucking doki doki’d all over the place. “And Humans are stupid like that…” you muttered rubbing your right arm nervously. He blinked, “I don’t want you to…If you ever have to fight the other Kocho sister, do not eat her. She poisons herself with a shit ton of Wisteria expecting you to eat her, and you basically melt away.”
Douma tilted his head, walking forward and cupping your chin and pointing your face up to look at him. Searching your eyes. He felt his chest fill with a warm feeling again, and…was that his heart? Did it just beat? “You are serious about this…”
You expected him to go on about how idiotic you were for falling for a Demon. For trusting him with this information, to call you and the rest of humanity stupid, laugh manically as he took this information to his master, even devouring you with your admission.
Douma instead pulled you into a hug causing you to blink. “It’s okay Snowflake, I don’t mind your stupidity right now!” he smiled back down at you. “But we do need to report this to Lord Muzan!” with that a Bewa sounded, both of you were transferred to Muzan’s labyrinth of a mansion.
“I heard your admission through Douma. What do you want out of this Human?” Muzan’s voice sent chills down your spine, you heard others bending down into a bow. You followed suit with Douma. “Why should I not kill you now?”
Douma felt his chest tighten at that but said nothing, however Muzan looked over to the demon with interest. “I…Just don’t want him to die, and to live in the cult…”
The other Demons presented all had a similar thought, what the fuck? Muzan twitched at the thought. “Foolish…prove yourself, I may consider making you a Demon.”
“Akaza…” you said somewhat comfortably, “Have you killed a Flame Hashira recently? After the death of Enmu dealing with a Train?”
Muzan tilted his head expectantly, and Akaza responded to you, “I have never faced a Flame Hashira.”
Muzan looked back to you. “From my knowledge, Lord Muzan, you get rid of the Lower Moon’s with the exception of Enmu due to Lower Moon Five’s Rui’s disgrace from mount Natagamo. Enmu will end up receiving your blood, and absorbing people via the Mugen train. He ends up being killed by a Kamado Tanjiro who has the Hanafuda Earrings and a Hashibira Inosuke.” Douma blinked at that for a moment. “They are accompanied by Agatsuma Zenitsu, Kamado Nezuko who is a Rouge Demon that broke from your grasp, and The Flame Hashira Rengoku Kyojuro. Akaza is sent to clean up Enmu’s mess since he was nearby.”
You took a pause before continuing. “Akaza manages to fight till day break, however kills the flame Hashira, and Tanjiro throws his sword at Akaza claiming he’s a coward as he runs from the Sun.” you gulped, this was it…you were doing this, “I suggest Sending Douma and or Kokushibo to assist Akaza and Enmu with the Mugen Train. The two to focus on would be the Kamado siblings. As Tanjiro can use Sun Breathing, and Nezuko, sometime in the future if she doesn’t have it yet, will be able to walk in the sun as a Demon. You’ll want to absorb her…”
Silence.
Muzan had just gotten rid of the Lower Moons, and no one knew of that. He hummed, “Alright Human, I’ll humor you…If this plays out, I’ll make you a Demon and you can stay in Douma’s Cult..

Ticklish
Demon Slayer:
Pairing: Reader x Douma
Part 2
Warnings: Minor Cannabalism, Douma is his own warning, but fluffyish, itsukai, touch starved, slight OOC? IDK I'd imagine Douma doing this easily. Gender Neutral Reader
Synopsis: Based on a post saying Douma gives good hugs, and personal experience. I have a friend who is the same height as Douma, and the dude tried to hug me from behind and I dropped my weight to get away and he panicked thinking my legs gave out, and ended up tickling me more.
Story:
You had been itsukaied, and out of anyone to find you, you far from expected Douma to be the one to find you. At first you were scared, but it wasn’t something you could avoid. You had to embrace what happened even if it was a little weird.
You knew nothing was ever just black and white, and that everything was morally gray. You never let on what you knew of Douma and this world.
You weren’t stupid. Just touch starved.
But you actually didn’t expect to get along with the Demon as well as you were.
You weren’t used to being touched in any way, infact you were extremely ticklish. You avoided being touched when you could. Just your sides and abdomen. Feet, armpits were safe, but who the fuck would want to try to tickle you there?
You had walked in on him eating a member of his cult, and he dreaded it, thinking you would flee. You had only shrugged, “Look, you’re sheltering me, feeding me, and you’re not eating me so I must not be too annoying. You gotta eat too.” Douma would pull a Pikachu face not expecting your acceptance.
Could this be love? Or is this just him wanting to feel something?
Douma started being even more handsy after that, wanting you by his side. However he thought it was weird when you would squirm out of the way of his touches.
Did you not like him anymore? The thought nearly made him sad.
One day he walked up to hug you from behind. You however felt his fingers lightly on your abdomen and you freaked out, your body spasmed, and you tried to drop your weight to get away from the Demon.
Douma confused, thinking your legs went weak, dragged up his fingers to your armpits to try to catch you.
“Nonononahahahanonopleasestop!~” you cried out as you tried to get away from the Demon once more.
Oh, you weren’t trying to get away from him cause you were scared, or weirded out. Douma ended up scooping you up into his arms with. His iridescent eyes nearly sparkling. “(Name)-san~ are you ticklish?”
“No!” you mousily responded, causing the demon to chuckle at your antics as he moved to tickle your side causing you to spasm once more.
“Oh no? What was that?” Douma questioned almost smugly.
You pouted, “A fart…”
Douma let out a full laugh, causing your eyes to widen. Was…this a genuine laugh? A Genuine smile?
Why did your heart just fucking Doki Doki?
Oh god….

Story:
You rushed home, nothing that you had important to do in any case. You were just tired of your nine to five job at the convenience store. You changed into a pair of star themed pajamas and a Pokemon t-shirt with snorlax on it. You were applying for a second job so you could earn enough to go through another semester at college. A Psychology degree was one of the most expensive you could go with, but the the pay out you were hoping would be worth more than what you would put in.
However you were taking free courses online, and one of them was a Psychological Essay on diagnosing a fake character in a media. You took this as your time to be a dork and decided to write an essay on Douma and what you assumed was Anti-Social Personality Disorder. Most likely not the case, but for that particular paper, it sounded good at the time. You just had to make it believable then again, it was a free course, not like the paper would actually be graded.
Why were you wasting your time on this again? Oh right, to keep the mind sharp.
You rewatched a video on youtube in regards of the Life of Douma, and got to work. Following the video up with Akaza’s Epic version of his theme song on repeat. It was your current song fixation, and you had a hard time varying from it this week.
It wasn’t long that you continued with the essay. It was five pages and it was only based on Douma’s childhood so far.
You looked up at the clock, it was 3 am. You yawned with exhaustion finally kicking in. Sleep overtook you fast.
You dreamt that you were in high school all over again. Normally, your dream self would panic thinking you were about to miss a class, or that you were late for transportation.
Upon seeing a head of Firey blond hair in front of your classroom you blinked realizing you were dreaming. Looking around the classroom you saw a world map, and multitude of historical figures.
You were dreaming that Rengoku was your history teacher? Fuck if that was the case he would have inspired you to be a historian ages ago. “I’m spending too much time on Demon Slayer music and fanfictions…and that Essay…”
“SPEAKING OF ESSAYS!” Rengoku’s voice boomed out, “There is one due Monday in regards of the ban of Sword carrying, how people got around the law, and Ronin that went against the law!”
Oh yeah, if this man was your history teacher in High School, you would have been a historian, with the way he excitedly talked about it, you were excited to write it. You however blinked. Wait this is a dream? I can take this into whatever direction I want!
It wasn’t often that you caught yourself Lucid Dreaming. You stood up from your desk, causing Rengoku to call out your name, “What are you doing?”
You paused, unsure of how or if to answer. The two of you were adults, it was a dream, you could make it spicy, but you never had a dream that actually finished that was Spicy in content. Rengoku called out your name again sounding confused, and you smiled, “weren’t you teaching us the fineness of swordsmanship sir?”
The scene changed and Rengoku blinked at that, now it was just you and him outside of his family home, the both of you in period clothing, and bokkens in your hands. “YES! I was! Now What I want you to do is five hundred sword lunges in perfect form.”
Your face fell as you came to the realization that Rengoku was training you. All his Tsugoku’s ran off with the exception of Kanroji due to rigorous training. You were a downright moron. Then again it was a dream? You weren’t going to feel it in the morning.
As you continued your lunges, “Rengoku-Sama, have you ever trained while on clouds?”
Rengoku blinked again, as the two of you randomly were in the sky training on clouds. “Nope, but I am now! This is amazing although frightening!” He started to laugh boisterously as you continued with finishing up your lunges. “Alright! Great job! Be Careful with your step! We’re going to work on the first form of Flame Breathing. Rising Scorching Sun!”
You froze in place, Flame Breathing on a cloud? Would that make it evaporate? “I thought you only taught Tsugokus how to do Flame Breathing, I assumed, this was just training Rengoku-sama…”
Rengoku said your name, “but you are my Tsugoku! Now watchout! RISING SCORCHING SUN!” He pushed you out of the way of a Pterodactyl and sliced its head off. Your fear of the attack evaporating the cloud was valid, as the cloud fell apart and you started to fall back to the earth, with a sickening feeling in your chest and stomach.
You sat forward scared shitless, feeling like you actually fell. Your head hurt and it was dark around you. You went to grab at your sheets, only to grab grass. You blinked, That’s not right…
You finally started to take in your surroundings. This was not your bedroom, this was a forest. Fuck I’m still dreaming arn’t I? Okay, come on brain, take me to a lake or something so I can go swimming.
Nothing happened. You closed your eyes, thinking of your bedroom. Expecting to wake up on your soft bed, plush pillow. Opening your eyes this time finding someone walking towards you. As they came closer, you noticed the blondish white hair, and you couldn’t pin down the colors of the eyes, as there were multiple colors shining. Like a rainbow. You heard something spoken in Japanese, and you started shuffling backwards “Oh no no no no no. I was having a nice dream and now it’s Douma, fuck I need to take a break from anime. Come on, wake up.”
The man paused upon hearing his name and tilted his head. You felt yourself backing up into a tree, and you slapped your face. He said something again, and you just cried out, “I DON’T WANT TO BE EATEN! WAAAAA”
His smile this time fell, however he tilted his head the other way as if in thought. “English? Are you Foreign?” You froze looking up at him, giving him the clue that he was right. “Curious…You’re scared? Why?” He paused, placing a finger to his chin. “You obviously know me, you said my name…something about a dream and being eaten? Am I correct?”
You nodded, “Ye-yes….” You squeaked out.
“Oh Dear me, rest assured, I don’t eat people.” He smiled tilting his head as he lied, “What is your name since you know mine.” You muttered your name trying to scoot more into the tree. “That’s a pretty name.” Douma reached out a hand, to help you up. “Come on, no reason to be afraid.”
You gulped, muttering to yourself, “Why couldn’t I have had a nightmare with Akaza or something…”
Douma froze, coming to a realization. “You know Akaza? You’re not dreaming Little Dove. You’re coming with me.” One second you were on the ground, the next you were over his shoulder causing you to yelp.
“Shit shit shit, WAKE UP!” You screamed at yourself.
Douma hummed, “Again~ you’re not dreaming. But if you’re going to continue screaming, I’m going to have to knock you out Dove.”
However you couldn’t comprehend how this wasn’t a dream. How were you not sleeping, why wouldn’t you wake up? Did you lose control of your lucid dreaming?
With your continued panic, you blacked out from a hit to the neck.
“This better be worth my time Douma, or I’m fucking knocking your head off.” You heard someone talk in Japanese, the only thing you made out was Douma’s name.
Fuck, this was a hell of a long dream. A Painful one at that. You sat up rubbing the back of your neck. You opened your eyes glancing around, you were on a very plush and comfortable futon, however your feet and hands were tied up. You struggled against the ropes before you came to a realization, that this wasn’t a dream. This was real.
“Akaza-Dono, I found a Foreign woman that knew my name and said your name. What else was I supposed to do?” The door that was opened a crack, opened up the rest of the way. You yelped trying to scoot back into the bed. “Oh good! You’re awake! I brought company, hope you don’t mind!” Douma said in English, almost beaming.
Akaza walked in behind him and stared at you, “Who the fuck is this?” He said in English as well.
Douma said your name, “I found her in the forest just outside of here. It was quite curious with her clothes and language. Saying something like “Why couldn’t I have dreamt of Akaza.’”
“Can’t blame her for preferring me over you.” Azaka kept an emotionless face. “Did I kill your father or brother or something?” Douma slightly pouted, not understanding why you would prefer Akaza over him. You shook your head to Akaza’s question. “Alright, better question. How the fuck do you know my name?” He questioned getting up in your face.
Oh shit. Oh fuck. You bit your lip holding back asking them not to hand you over to Muzan. You didn’t need to dig a deeper hole. “I…I…”
Akaza’s stare was unrelenting. “You…Spit it out. If you keep stuttering I’ll cut off a finger.”
You for some reason deadpanned, “You don’t attack women.”
Douma blinked, “she’s right, that was an empty threat.”
Akaza growled, swinging his hand out to punch Douma in the face.“SHUT UP.” You whimpered seeing Douma’s face caved in. Akaza grabbed you by the collar of your pokemon shirt, “How the fuck do you know that?! Who are you?!”
You closed your eyes, turning away from his tattooed face. You stated your name, “I’m twenty, I am from the year 2022, I study Psychology in college…”
Douma blinked again, “2022? It’s 1908…”
Akaza forced you to look him in the eyes. “Bull shit.”
You shook your head, “IT’S THE TRUTH! There is this manga, and show called Demon Slayer, and you two are characters in it! I was writing an Essay on Douma and the possibility of him having antisocial personality disorder for a class. Douma walked in on his parents murder suicide and commented on how they left a mess and wasn’t emotionally scarred and has a Cult. You don’t kill women, you fight for the thrill and the challenge of it, and killed Rengoku!”
Both demons froze. “Who is Rengoku?” Akaza questioned.
Your eyes widened. Oh shit, either this was before the main story, or during and Mugen Train hadn’t happened yet…. “A…Hashira… from the show.” You quietly said. You looked to Douma trying to get an idea of when it was. “Who was the last Hashira you killed?”
Douma tilted his head, “A Pretty female, Flower Breathing a few years back.”
“Kanae Kocho.”
“YES! Her!”
Akaza frowned. “We should take her to Master Muzan…”
Douma looked at him with wide eyes, “You think so?”
Your eyes widened in horror. “PLEASE DON’T I WOULD LIKE TO LIVE!”
“You are from the supposed future, you know all about us…” Akaza stood up straight as you panicked.
“Only Douma because I was writing the essay on him!” You lied.
“Then why are you afraid of Master Muzan?” Douma questioned almost innocently.
“You are both referring to him as Master, so that assumes he is above you in rank.” You gulped out your second lie.
Fuck fuck fuck you were screwed.
So Screwed if they find out you’re lying.
“I…I promise I won’t say a thing. Let me stay in the cult here, and I’ll do anything.I’ll even act like everything is normal and that Douma doesn’t eat his followers to obtain their so-called Paradise, just please don’t take me to him…”
You didn’t even see Akaza’s hand move. But you felt a pain in your neck as you blacked out.
~~~~~
You groaned, hearing voices again strictly in English. “You’re telling me this human girl is from the future…and knows about us?” You really needed to learn when to keep your mouth shut.
Douma hummed, “Well, she knows all about me, begged me to let her stay in my cult and she would ignore that I would eat followers if I didn’t bring her to you.”
Akaza crossed his arms, “She knew Douma killed a Flower Hashira, and that I didn’t kill women. Knew both of our names, and was frightened when I brought you up. She claims she only knows details about Douma. And her clothes are weird…”
“I see…”
Douma bent down over you, “Wakey wakey Little Dove~” He went to tap your cheeks.
Your eyes fluttered open recognizing Douma and the wooden staircases around you. Muzan’s headquarters, mansion or whatever it was. “Dream?” You whined as Douma gave you a smile.
“We’ve been over this, you aren’t dreaming!~” he tilted his head in thought, “However I’m sure Enmu could help you with that.” Akaza grabbed you by your armpits and stood you up to face Muzan.
You gulped almost falling back to your knees out of fear, “I…I…should I be bowing?” You questioned recalling the Lower Moon meeting in the anime with everyone being forced into a very low bow.
The tall man glared down at you, “You are a guest, you don’t need to bow…yet.” His pinkish red eyes were extremely unnerving. “You two may leave.” Your eyes widened in fear, as the two demons disappeared at the sound of the Bewa. “Douma and Akaza filled me in on everything the three of you talked about. I only have one question, and I expect it to be answered.” He said glancing over your form taking in your outfit. “Blue Spider Lilies, where are they?”
You deadpanned. Of course, out of everything he would be fixated on that. But this was an anime, did he think you were from the future in general? Could you use it to your advantage? “I’ve never seen a Blue Spider Lily outside of Mythology books.” You noticed his glare sharpen, “I’m telling the truth! All I know about them is that they only bloom a few times during the year, and only in direct sunlight! But I am unaware of their location. ” You lowered yourself into a bow this time hoping to make yourself small and believable. “Uh…SANZU RIVER! Maybe River Styx If I remember mythology correctly. I would assume somewhere around death.”
“Both of those Rivers are fictional.”
You wanted to scream that he was fictional.
However, if you were really Itsukaied into the Demon Slayer Universe, you couldn’t afford to have a death wish. “To be fair, a lot of people think Demons are Fictional as well. Even from my time.”
Muzan hummed at that. “I want you to tell me everything you know about Demons, us. Me.”
You kept your head down remembering Enmu with the Lower Moon meeting again.“I don’t know much about you all, I just knew a lot about Douma due to a research paper for a Psychology class.” Come on, weave a truth in with a lie. Don’t let on about Tanjiro. “Akaza kills a Flame Hashira, after Enmu is killed by him. And Before that you get rid of the Lower Moons with the exception of Enmu, and give him more blood. That is the only thing I know of. I know you were human once, and was sick, and eventually made yourself a demon to live longer, however now you’re looking for blue spider lilies to conquer the sun. But you’re having a hard time doing so.”
Muzan could feel the fear rolling off of you, in fact it was rather intoxicating. Intoxicating? He raised a hand down to your face, to pull you into a standing position, gently, before cutting your cheek, a stinging sensation hitting your face. His nostrils flared, “Marechi…”
FUCK NO, I’M A MARECHI!?
Muzan licked his thumbnail, humming at the taste. He felt himself relax a little and his eyes dilated from the taste of your blood. “Delicious, could keep you as a blood bag…but…something wrong with your blood…” You blinked looking at him, all fear disappeared, but worry clouded you. “You’re ill, dying.” Your eyes widened. “I also…taste me.”
All emotion left your face as you looked at him blinking. “What?”
“You are related to me somehow.” Your eyebrows furrowed, mirroring his face. “You won’t live past thirty because of it. Surprisingly you haven’t gone blind yet.”
Wait, you were ill, going to die, and most likely going to go blind. Shit you should have read more into the Manga. Past the Tsuzumi Mansion. More information is always in the manga as opposed to the Anime.
“I will make you an offer, since you are of my blood. Become a Demon.” His eyes burrowed into yours. “If not, I’ll just snap your neck and eat you now. Up to you. Be grateful I’m giving you a choice.”
Your brain rushed a million miles a minute. Illness, blind, dying young. Related to Muzan somehow. Itsukaied into Demon Slayer. Demon or Die quicker. Survive. Survive. Survive.
“I…I accept.” The words tumbled out didn’t even feel like your own. In fact you were hoping that him turning you into a demon would wake you up from this nightmare.
Muzan gave a smile, as he sliced a finger, “Good girl,” and purred. He squeezed out some blood and placed his finger against the cut on your cheek. “This is just to turn you for now, I intend to give you more blood to make you stronger. No daughter of mine will be weak.”
You frowned at that as you felt woozy, “Da-daughter?” Fire rushing throughout your veins. Feeling as if you were boiling from the inside. Your bones were being shattered and rebuilt.
“Of course.” He said matter of factly as you passed out again, from the intense agony your body was going through.
Your head pounded. You felt like every cell of yours got ripped apart and built back up like lego bricks, but some bricks were just completely out of place. At the same time they also felt right, as if they were always a part of you.
“Beloved Daughter, you’re finally awake.” You heard someone coo. You felt yourself growl in response, “Oh, don’t worry, I brought you a meal.”
Meal? You tilted your head, drooling at the thought. “You’re doing so well, almost fully transformed.”
Almost transformed? Your brow furrowed. What was happening?
“Here, I’ve brought you a Marechi.” He threw forward a dead body, still slightly warm. You drooled even more, smelling the fresh blood, and launched yourself at the body. Feeding ferociously. Feeling strength flow through you, and at the same time, you couldn’t finish the meal.
You felt as if you were tired, sluggish. Drugged? High! That’s it! You remembered eating an edible once and feeling like this. You giggled at the feeling, rocking back and forth, you glanced back up at Muzan. Your slowed mind not taking in the threat.
“I will name you Kibutsuji Rikka, my daughter.” He went to kneel down and placed his hand against your cheek. “Your only desire is to get stronger, and to guarantee my happiness and fulfill my dreams as a devoted daughter.”
You tilted your head up at him, as his words seemed to mold your mind. You looked down at your claws, before reaching into the body and pulling out the heart, offering it to Muzan, “Are you hungry Father?”
Muzan took in the scent giving you an odd smile, “I’m not hungry, but feed my Daughter. Eat as much as you can, while you can. You need strength.” He pushed your hand back towards you. Watching you as you bit into the heart. “Don’t leave a single bone shard Sweetheart.”
Song: Devil's Backbone by The Civil Wars
Story:
You didn’t know how you came across this universe. You weren’t too fond of where you were, but it’s not like you had a choice of things. You were in Yoshiwara. The Entertainment District. You were foriegn, and barely knew the language. You had broken into an abandoned house, and took a tattered Kimono. You weren’t even sure if you were wearing it correctly.
You had to make money somehow, maybe get a new Kimono, and not look like a Begger. You would come back to the same abandoned house and sleep on the tattered futon.
Maybe you could sing for some change? The only songs you knew were from the future, 2022, not this, According to the papers, if you translated the dates correctly 1910.
You took a pot from the abandoned house, and you sat down on the side of the road, pretty sure it was frowned upon to do so. “Oh Lord, Oh Lord, what have I done? I've fallen in love with a man on the run. Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I'm begging you please, Don't take that sinner from me, Oh don't take that sinner from me!~” you started nervously, yet the voice never waivered. Sure, most likely no one here understood English, but one thing that carried was tones, music.
You kept your eyes closed, as you continued on, not even noting the small crowd gathering around you. “Oh Lord, Oh Lord, what do I do? I've fallen for someone who's nothing like you, He's raised on the edge of the devil's backbone, Oh I just wanna take him home, Oh I just wanna take him home. Oooooh!~” Your voice carried, almost hauntingly.
It was dusk, it was time for those to be heading to the ladies of the night. From the distance there was a pair of mismatched eyes staring at your form as your voice seemed to envelop him. “Oh Lord, Oh Lord, he's somewhere between, A hangman's knot, and three mouths to feed, There wasn't a wrong or a right he could choose, He did what he had to do, Oh he did what he had to do, Oooooh!~”
Whispering came closer and closer, and you heard dings of metal falling into the pot. Hopefully you could afford to eat something later. You started to hit your fist against your knee to what you remembered was the beat of the song. “Give me the burden, give me the blame. I'll shoulder the load, and I'll swallow the shame, Give me the burden, give me the blame. How many, how many Hail Marys is it gonna take?~”
More dings hit the pot. You stopped hitting your knee and dropped to a lower voice. “Don't care if he's guilty, don't care if he's not. He's good and he's bad and he's all that I've got. Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I'm begging you please, Don't take that sinner from me, Oh don't take that sinner from me!~”
More dings, and people applauded, you moved into a Zarei, bowing to those who threw change in your pot. “Thank you very much.” you said in Japanese. The crowd dispersed, and you took your pot and took off back to the abandoned house. Not noticing that you had a stalker.
You sat cross legged on the Futon, trying to figure out how to count the bills and coins you had collected. You sorted everything that looked similar. “Fuck…I feel like a child…” not noticing when the door opened and shut quietly.
“Is that English?”
You jumped hearing the voice, startled. You looked up, finding a lanky man skin and bones, with mismatched eyes that were written on, and green hair. Your eyes widened realizing it was Gyutaro. From Demon Slayer. You were in the Demon Slayer Universe. You did not need the Demon to hand you over to Muzan. “Ye-yes. I speak English. My Japanese is bad…” You blushed admitting the weakness in the language. “Um…could…could you help me Sir? I…don’t know the currency and what I earned.”
Gyutaro tilted his head. Were you not afraid of him? Perhaps you didn’t know any better, especially since you were squatting in what used to be his home long ago. If he wasn’t mistaken, that was one of his mothers old Kimonos. He was shocked it held up as well as it did. He knelt down reaching his hands out to count. You watched as his boney fingers reached out. You gulped. And he grinned at that, you were scared. “I was starting to think you didn’t fear me…”
You rubbed the back of your neck, brushing his comment off. “Would that be enough to get a meal, and maybe a cheap Kimono?”
Gyutaro shook his head, “Bowl of Udon maybe, but not a Kimono…” He heard you swear again, “What’s your name?”
You gulped again, “(Last name) (First Name).”
Gyutaro hummed at that. “I’m Gyutaro. Do you have anything against working at any of the Local Houses?” You clenched your fist, not liking the idea, but the girls/women did get taken care of there. You knew your time was paid for, and it wasn’t only just sex. “Women like you would be well taken care of. And you can learn Japanese while there. It would be better than this pathetic existence right now, wouldn’t you say?”
You thought about that, unsure if he meant because you were decent looking, or if because you were foriegn. You looked at him, “Which…house would you recommend?”
“My sister works at the Kyogoku House.” Gyutaro replied unsure of why he was even assisting you.
You rubbed your cheek against your shoulder, which he thought was somewhat cute causing him to scratch at his shoulder and drawing blood. “Could…you walk me there? You can take whatever money they offer you for me...”
Gyutaro snorted and rolled his eyes, as he placed the money into a pouch handing it to you. He held out a hand and you took it, which he reveled in the smallness of your hand in his as he guided you out of the house. He was still weirded out by the fact that you weren’t openly disgusted by him. If you were, you hid it well. He hid the writing in his eyes. It was a good half hour hike, with random stares given to him. People staring wondering why a woman like you was holding hands with a monster like him?
Arriving at the Kyogoku house you were met with an older lady in the front. Even the woman tried not to let her disgust get to the surface. A client was a client after all. Ugly or not. “What can I do for you two?”
“I’m looking to get my…friend into a safe environment. She ran off from an abusive relationship and needs a place to stay and a way to make an earning.” Gyutaro replied, of which the woman noticed that you looked skittish. From the corner of your eye, you saw Gyutaro’s sister Daki in her human disguise. She glanced at you, to her brother, to you again. “Is this true?”
Gyutaro shook his head, “Unfortunately she doesn’t know Japanese well enough, but is more than happy to learn. She speaks English. She’s a good singer, in fact made a few hundred yen today from singing one song.”
The woman looked behind her and saw Daki, “Warabihime, you speak English, correct?”
“Yes Lady Omitsu.” You heard her sweet voice come, you barely looked up at her, but she used a finger placing it under your chin, “Are you running from an Abusive relationship and need a place to stay?”
You nodded, staring into her eyes, “Yes. Please.” A rock and a hard place. Or rather being between two Demons and knowing it was highly intimidating.
“What are you called?”
“(Last name) (First Name).” you stated, bowing your head in respect, or you tried, but her finger was strong and held your head up.
“She says it’s true, Lady Omitsu. I can show her around, unless you want someone else to.” Daki pulled back her hand and clapped, smiling at the older woman.
Ometsu nodded, “Sure, would you take five thousand for her?”
Gyutaro shook his head as he watched her sister walk off with you, and he felt a small tinge of regret and possessiveness. His head twitched in response to him trying not to scratch at his arms. “No money, just make sure she’s safe.” He fought scratching at himself while in front of a human.
Omitsu’s eyes widened, “Yes…Of course!”
Daki took her time explaining the rooms, that there was only one other that could speak English but Omitsu would hire a tutor to help you learn Japanese properly. “This is my room. Yours is to the right of mine....” she opened the door and closed it behind you. From nowhere the Obi wraps shot out grabbing you by the waist and around your mouth to prevent you from screaming. “Now how do you know Gyutaro?” her eyes narrowed at you, the numbers on her eyes showing.
The obi loosened on your mouth, “He followed me into a house I was squating in after I was singing for money! Gyutaro told me the Houses here would be my best bet, and that Kyogoku House was best, because his sister was here!”
“Daki…” The both of you turned toward the window seeing Gyutaro. “Well, now she knows we’re Demons…You had one job…good thing you’re pretty…cause that was fucking dumb”
Daki’s eyes widened realizing she fucked up. “You didn’t bring her for food?”
Gyutaro snorted, “No, I brought her here so that she’d have a roof over her head and food dumbass.”
Daki’s eyes darted back and forth between the two of you. “Is she your girlfriend or something?”
You blushed at that, and Daki took notice of that, Gyutaro, “Don’t fuck around Daki, not in the mood for jokes. I’ll be back tomorrow. Take care of her…'' he vanished out the window.
Daki released her Obi hold on you, and lowered you down. “Well, you know who and what we are now, so you’re going to be my new best friend and stay by my side so that you don’t go snitching.”
You steeled yourself, “I wouldn’t dream of telling anyone of what was said in here. I’m just a crazy foreigner that knows nothing.”
Daki gave a smile, “Good. There is hope for you yet.”
A couple of years had passed since then.
The man they hired to educate you was quite a pervert, but taught you well. You were actually close to Daki. Daki never bothered with attempting to eat you, however you have lured in beautiful women for her from time to time.
Gyutaro visited almost nightly, but for now was attached to Daki. Currently he is dormant. You smiled at the Oiran, as she motioned you to enter, “May I comb your hair Warabihime?” You asked. She had requested that you call her that within the house.
“Please, I wanted to talk to you actually.” Daki motioned for you to enter, you closed the door behind you. You moved to release her hair, handing her her hair pins before moving to comb it out. “I’ve noticed you’ve been…depressed lately.” She felt you falter with her hair. “Have you grown attached to Gyutaro?” She saw you blush through the mirror. Her head sharply turned to you with her wide eyes. “YOU HAVE!” She giggled like a teen. “You should tell him!”
You sweat dropped, “He…he is a part of you right now, wouldn’t he know?”
Daki shook her head smiling almost innocently. “He’s asleep so to speak. So come on Spill! I’ll comb your hair next!”
You laughed nervously, feeling like you were at some sort of sleepover. “There is…nothing to spill. Your brother can do way better than me…”
You heard her growl as she gently went through your hair, “Bullshit, you two are clueless as fuck.” You chuckled at her admission. “I honestly just want to see him happy at this point. He seems content around you.”
You hummed, “Are you sure he’s not just putting up with me because I know your secrets?”
Daki frowned, walking in front of you, “No, because he brought you here before you knew what we were. The fact that you are comfortable around us, and not annoying is a bonus. I can comfortably call you a friend or a Sister…” That instantly put into Daki’s mind a Marriage, and her brother in formal attire. She shook her head of the thought even though she adored it. It wasn’t something Demons had the courtesy of knowing. “I have a question, are you a Virgin?”
You blushed, “Ye-yes.”
Daki almost squeed, “Not that it’s important, just a human construct that men decide is important. It really isn’t. Were you saving it for my brother?”
You rubbed your arm, feeling slightly uncomfortable talking about her brother with her like this. “Not particularly.”
“Have you not been prepositioned?”
“Yes, but I didn’t want to, regardless of how much. Don’t have a particular reason why…”
“I’m sure you don’t~” Daki sung out. “Would you like to lose it to me?”
“HEH?!” Your eyes widened not expecting that.
“As a Woman I know how first times can be, and I’d take care of you. Plus I’m a Demon I can grow a Penis! It’ll almost be like you’re fucking Gyutaro!”
Your face grew as red as a tomato. “I uh…NO WHAT I…What the fuck?” You were extremely confused.
“I’ve had to do it a few times for Men before I ate them. Men are pigs and there are a variety of fetishes out there.” Daki was pleased with admitting it. She moved to pinch your cheek. “You’re so adorable!” She bit her lip leaning into you and whispering into your ear. “You can take your time to decide, but you’re not bad looking. I won’t mind sharing you with my Brother.”
You gulped, not expecting this at all. “I…uh…dear me…”
Daki only laughed boisterously in response, before her head snapped up. This time with a serious look, “I do have a question. Have you noticed anything off lately? People asking questions?”
You furrowed your brows thinking about it. “Uh…not that I can recall but I can keep my ears open. We did get a new woman, Hina…” you froze, as it dawned on you who she was. It’s been two years in the Entertainment district and you have almost forgotten that you were in the Demon Slayer Universe. Uzui’s wives are here. The district was going to get nasty…Did you care for the two demons so much to help them? Was there even anything you could do to change this? A lot of people were to die.
“Hina? What about her? Hello!~” Daki turned to you waving her hand in front of your face. “Is this Hina a problem?”
You shook your head smiling, “Sorry I got side tracked with my thoughts. Uh New woman named Hinatsuru, she’s very beautiful and sweet…”
Daki poked your nose, “Is my brother losing you to a woman already?”
You blushed laughing, “I mean…I wasn’t planning on professing my love to anyone.”
Daki frowned, curling a finger under your chin. “I don’t see why not, you are very beautiful and kind. Too kind in my opinion.” She pulled away in thought, “You know…you don’t have to stay here…” she watched as your eyes widened as you looked at her, “You never had a debt to pay off, You have saved enough money to start a life on your own. Go out and see the world.”
You gave the woman an odd look, “I…I don’t understand.” Why did she care? Was it because of the grown attachment to her brother? Has she actually grown attached to you? Did the two demons actually consider you a friend and not food on standby?
Daki furrowed her brow, “What’s so hard to understand?” With that there was a knock on the door, “What is it?!” Daki called out.
“Lady Warabahime, I’m looking for (Name). Is she in there?”
You recognized the voice, it was Hinatsuru. You glanced at Daki, she shrugged, “Yes, I was just dismissing her.”
With that you got up, and went to the door, and exited the room closing it behind you. You gave a brilliant smile to the taller woman, “Can I be of assistance?”
Hinatsuru gave you a kind look, “I got permission to shop around today for a new Kimono, and maybe a hair pin. I asked Lady Omitsu if you could accompany me. That is if you don’t mind.” She gave a small bow.
You nodded with a smile, “Of course, allow me to get my bag out of my room and I’ll happily come with you.”
“Do you think Lady Warabahimi would like to accompany us?”
Without missing a beat, you shook your head, “She had some clients that lasted well into the night so, she should be resting as is.”
“Ah I see, understandable.” Hinatsuru said softly as she watched you enter your room next to Daki’s. You came back out placing your small purse into the sleeve of your Kimono. You reach up to your hair and round it around a hair pin. Hinatsuru noticed it had a very sharp point. “Seems dangerous.”
You gave a sheepish smile, “I’ve been here for two years, there are some very handsy drunks even during the day, and I’d rather have some means of protection than none.”
“I never said it wasn’t smart. I’ll let you in on a little secret…” Hinatsuru gave a small chuckle, reaching down and showing a little of her leg as she pulled her Kimono up revealing a Garter and Kunai. She lowered it again as the two of you went out of the Kyogoku house. “What place do you recommend?”
You uncomfortably shifted in place, “I mean, I don’t know your tastes, I’ve only ever gone to places Lady Warabahime asks me to go for her. And me, I prefer to stay on the cheaper end of things.”
Hinatsuru hummed, “Understandable. If you don’t mind me asking, there have been women who have been disappearing lately,” she noticed as you stiffened as the two of you walked down the road looking from vendor to vendor. “I’m just concerned and I’m trying to avoid the same fate. Do you know anything about that?”
There was really no avoiding the situation. You grabbed hold of Hinatsuru’s hand and dragged her down an alleyway, causing her to give you a look, “Some place quiet, ears all around…” you muttered as the two of you continued till you were sure no one was following. “The houses are claiming they are simply just running away…”
Hinatsuru placed her hands on her hips, “And what do you believe?”
You twitched, “I…I…I don’t think I’m at liberty to say.”
“We’re alone, are we not?”
You bit your lip. “Please, please be careful of who you ask these questions.” You saw her eyes narrow on you. “You’ve been here a week, the more you ask the more word is going to get around, and I don’t want you to be one of the runaways. Not everyone is out for your best interest or for the interest of missing women. Sometimes what’s in our best interest is to keep our heads down.”
You went to walk back towards the streets, but she grasped your arm gently. “We can’t afford to keep our heads down. If we can prevent another loss of life, then we need to step up and stop it from happening. My wi-friend just went missing. And I need to get her back.”
You took a deep breath, that’s right, Suma was the first to be caught. You closed your eyes and refused to look back at her. “I…want to help, but I am not in a position to. Just, be careful with your communications.” You stood stiffly looking back up the alleyway, towards where the vendors were, “We might as well get something before nightfall. It’ll look suspicious if we return empty handed.”
You only got a hum in response as the two of you went back to the busy crowd. She found herself a plain Yukata and a couple of hairpins. You found yourself a hair fork, and a hair pin. The hair fork reminded you of Daki’s eyes. “Miss Hinatsuru…I don’t want to be bold to assume you’ve ever been in love, but, if you have could you tell me what it feels like?” You questioned as the two of you were coming back up to the Kyogoku house.
Hinatsuru blinked, giving you a stare, “You think you might be in love?”
You rubbed your arm, “I’m not sure…that’s why I was asking what it was like…”
She gave a gentle smile. “It can seem like suffocating in a sea of clouds at first. Like your chest is going to explode with emotions you’re bottling up. But once you come to recognize it, it’s a breath of fresh air on a summer’s morning. You can’t imagine spending the rest of your life without the person, and you want to do everything you can to make them happy, feel loved, and never want to see them get hurt.” You blinked as the woman handed you a carved wooden hairpin, with a Crow on the end of it. There was a sheet of paper wrapped around it, “Thank you.”
That night, you sat alone in your room, wondering if you felt like your world would be destroyed if Gyutaro or Daki was no longer in it. This couldn’t be love, but Stockholm Syndrome? You were sympathizing with the Demons. But you weren’t technically a Captive. Daki made you her “Best friend” so she could keep an eye on you for knowing they were Demons. Gyutaro brought you here in the first place, but it was to be safe.
Demons couldn’t feel anything except the more extremes of emotions. Daki explained that before. They couldn’t feel love, but they could feel lust, and the greed to keep someone to themselves. But it didn’t equate to love, and only a fool would believe otherwise.
You however did feel like you were suffocating in a sea of clouds, and that everything within you emotionally was like a soda bottle shaken up and ready to burst anytime you thought of Gyutaro. You glanced down at the hairpin in your hand, and unwrapped the note from it.
Please send for Uzui Tengen if I go missing. Wisteria house to the North of Yoshiwara will assist. Please burn this. Uzui Hinatsuru.
If you did report it to the Siblings, they would be grateful, most likely introduce you to Muzan, who would more than likely turn you into a Demon. Overall death was something that could not be easily avoided. Overall you had to act soon. Hinatsuru was about to go missing, and soon Uzui would show up with the Kamaboko Squad.
Did you want to be the only surviving Human of Yoshiwara? Assuming the Demons protected you, or got you to safety.
Rejected works
Demon Slayer Demon!Reader x Rengoku
Summery behind this: It was an Itsukai, which I somehow weaved into the actual timeline as the author of the Manga was warning people that Demons were still around. Dying in her sleep she wakes up in the same timeline. Finding out she is somehow related to Muzan, and he turns her into a Demon because of it. Tamayo removes his curse, and the Reader is currently with the Kamaboko squad, working with Ubuyashiki. Previously Rengoku, Mitsuri and Uzui gave Reader a Bunny to Eat, but she couldn't eat it.
Warnings: Adventure, rejected writing that didn't make it into the actual story, Story not posted yet, Mild sexual talk but nothing actually done or discussed. Reader's outfit is like a full blown Ninja with a full blown covering over the head and face so that she can be out during the day. Mugen Train Spoiler. Reader watched the anime up to Entertainment Arc, only read Manga up to Tsuzumi Mansion. MDNI just to cover my ass.
Rejected writing:
Regardless, one night, Rengoku walked up to you while you were attempting meditation in the gardens. He held some clothing in his hand, as he called out your name. “You are to accompany me on a mission, an investigation of deaths involving a train.” He noticed you freeze slightly at that. “Aoi had given your original outfit to the Corps, for them to make a Demon Slayer Uniform Variation of it so that we can travel during the day, as I assume you would not like to be shoved into a box like Little Kamado.”
You blinked, tilting your head slightly at the thought. “I would not appreciate that idea.” You stood up, “Is this the outfit Rengoku-Sama?”
“YES! Please try it on!” You nodded in response as you went inside and suited up in your new clothing. Complete with a hood that went over your head and face. Completely protected you from the hot and cold, and minor demon attacks. Which for the upcoming mission was technically useless. You walked back out, and he hummed in approval. “Looks good on you!”
You blinked again, and smiled, “Thank you. When do we leave Rengoku-Sama?”
“Technically we should leave post haste, however I just previously came back from a mission and I would like to see my brother before we leave! However I am worried about bringing you to my place considering my father was the previous Fire Hashira!”
You blanched. Yeah there would be no doubt that the man would attempt to slay you, whether he was drunk or not. “I would like to not prevent you from seeing your brother. He is a sweet kid.”
Rengoku’s head shot up, “I never spoke about him before, how would you know that?!”
Your eyes widened, “Future.”
Rengoku only nodded in response, “AH YES! Almost forgot about that! However, this mission takes precedence over what I would like to do considering people have been going missing! So we should head out now, do you need to take care of anything first?”
You shook your head. “No, I already released the bunny you guys got for me, the one day, so Kocho-Sama shouldn’t have a fit about it being in the Estate. I don’t need to bring anything with me, although I assume some Medical supplies wouldn’t hurt just in case.”
“YES! That would be smart to have on hand!” Rengoku announced boisterously as you went to get a small bag to bring with you, Rengoku followed you around in case you had something else you could think of.
The boys noticed you two running around, and asked what was going on. “Mission.” You said.
Rengoku looked at Zenitsu and Tanjiro, “I’ll bring her back in one piece!”
You deadpanned, “Considering I’m a Demon, that is a given…I’ll make sure Rengoku-Sama comes back in one piece!”
“RIGHT!” Rengoku laughed at his slight oversight. You had lowered the hood of your outfit, since it was night time. “We should go!” The two of you headed out from the headquarters and moved to go to the train station. “If we need to move faster, is it okay to carry you?”
You nodded, “I appreciate the fact that you ask for permission, but that’s not needed. If we need to move faster feel free to, if I’m in the way shove me out of the way.”
“I WOULD NEVER!”
You smiled at his outburst. “You are a sweet man Rengoku-sama, you’ll make a great husband one day.”
Rengoku slightly blushed at that and his eyes widened. “Rather bold of you to state! Are you planning on Courting me?”
Nope nope nope. You’re not doing this to me brain, do not fall for a man who might die within the next month. You continued to look forward. “I wouldn’t be bold enough to assume you would be interested in a Demon, I was just stating a fact that you were very courteous, admirable, and honorable. Traits I would associate with a husband in a healthy relationship that is all.”
Rengoku hummed in thought. “Thank you! I do take pride in being courteous and honorable, and it’s a pleasure to know that I am admirable as well!” He paid for the train tickets as the two of you were heading to the station to investigate and question the station master, and encounter the bento vender girl in a few towns over. “Did you have a husband when you were in the future…and human?”
You sweat dropped, oddly enough, you would consider this an awkward conversation but for some reason it was flowing quite well. “No.”
“No?” Rengoku furrowed his brows. “Did no one peak your interest?”
“Rather curious to ask, but to be honest, no. I guess my expectations for courting were too high. And I was focused on my studies.” You blinked at yourself trying to understand why your speech had changed so much in your time spent in this world.
“Understandable and admirable!” The two of you got onto the train and sat down beside each other.
You really didn’t expect to discuss relationship statuses with Rengoku while heading to a mission. “And you Rengoku-Sama? A reason you haven’t been courted and or married yet?”
His head shot up. “I put my duty as a Demon Slayer and Hashira in high regards! Once the World is Eradicated of Demons, then I will think about settling down!” He then looked at you sharply, “No offense meant!”
You chuckled, “No offense taken. I too want to eradicate demons, even if it means my own demise. First and Foremost, Kibutsuji. Get rid of him, then we can focus on the rest.” You said as your face fell.
Kami you wished you read the manga, and completed it. Most of the train ride was silent, minus Rengoku getting to know you with random questions. It reminded you of Tanjiro and Zenitsu playing twenty questions more or less. “Do you have any Demon Blood Art?”
You tilted your head frowning. “Honestly, no idea. I’ve also never tried to attempt any. Considering I’ve trained with the Upper Moons I should have been able to pick up somethings. And Kocho-Sama has a theory that I might have been able to modify my body when Shinazugawa-Sama in advertantly introduced Nezuko’s blood to my body, so I might be able to use some of her blood art…but that would be quite a stretch in my opinion.”
“Little Kamado has blood art?”
You nodded, “she was able to use her blood to burn away Lower Moon Five’s Spider webs, and it also lit Tanjiro’s broken blade to hurt Rui. She doesn’t know it yet, but she can also burn away demonic poisons from the human body, and her flames will not harm humans.”
Rengoku looked at you intrigued. “Which begs the question, when does a Demon realize they know Blood Art?”
You rocked your head to the side, “When does a Demon Slayer know when they accidentally created a new breathing Technique?”
Rengoku mirrored your action, “I believe it just randomly happens.”
You nodded, “That is my assumption too. As I am no expert on demons myself.”
Rengoku only smiled looking forward as you could have sworn his hair fluffed up, “And I am no expert on creating no breathing styles!” You promptly chuckled with how the two of you conversed. “OH! Before you came here, you said you had a dream about me teaching? What was I teaching?”
You hummed trying to remember, “Hm…you were teaching History. However, because you were teaching it I realized I was lucid dreaming and could do whatever I want, so I took it in a different direction.”
“You can control dreams?! Fascinating! TELL ME MORE!” He crossed his arms looking forward.
You nodded in response, “General response when realizing one has these dreams is more…Spicy than anything else, but…”
“Spicy? You cook in your dreams?”
You sweat dropped going slightly red in the face, “Okay maybe being too honest here isn’t going to be the best idea…” he turned to you in thought and tilted his head, “Spicy, can be another term of uh…” you coughed, “a sex dream of sorts. Usually when people realize it’s happening they generally change it to that general direction. However, I directed it to Swordsmanship training.” You continued to ramble on without giving him an inch to butt in. “Then I asked if the you in my dream ever tried to train on a cloud, and you went forth to attempt to teach me Flame Breathing, and killed a Pterodactyl which was attacking; which promptly evaporated the cloud where I fell back to the earth and woke up here.”
“Sounds very chaotic! I’ve had a lucid dream before! I directed it to my family having an outing with my mother!” He noticed your face melt to tears in your eyes, “IT WAS A HAPPY DREAM! No need for tears!”
You shook your head with a smile, “Nonono, it’s sweet, happy tears. I was adopted so I was more or less an only child. But I wasn’t close to the people who took me in.”
“That’s a Shame! I’m sure you were a lovely Child!”
You chuckled, “I was too afraid of doing anything wrong, and always looking forward to helping people out, and was easily bullied into Societal Norms. Basically Get married young, have kids, raise them and repeat the cycle. Only since no one stepped forward with interest, I assumed I wasn’t desirable so I went forward with education…my apologies I was rambling.”
“It is fine!” Rengoku nodded with a huff, “Nothing wrong with breaking free from what is expected of you. However, I can't imagine someone not being interested in you. Then again I only knew you as a Demon!”
You scratched the side of your head while sweating a little, even felt as if your heart skipped a beat. “Careful there Rengoku-Sama. Talk like that, I might just develop a crush on you.”
Rengoku furrowed his eyebrows. “I thought demons don’t fall in love.”
You deadpanned, “One I was teasing, two who knows. Nezuko has already been proving things wrong. Besides, from what I can tell I experience the very extreme of emotions. However I think it’s best if we drop that subject. Yes?”
“Agreed for now!”
You blinked, for now? Did that mean he wanted to continue the subject at a later time?
Finally getting to another station, you made sure your cover was up over your head and face, before running around and exploring the areas.
Muzan's Daughter Discarded Chapter.
Demon Slayer
No Pairing
Warnings: violence, Itsukai, reference to eating Animals, AFAB Reader, Muzan's Daughter Reader, Tsuzumi Mansion Arc
Originally followed Chapter 2, but doesn't anymore.
Summery Note: I apparently combined two chapters and I do not know where the third ends and forth begins. Originally I had the reader travel under a black sheet which I changed to in the box, but this was already typed out so I figured I'd at least post it for thought processes.
Discarded chapter:
As the three of you set off, Tanjiro asked you a ton of questions. More on the innocent side than anything. Favorite colors, foods, what you were like as a human. He avoided any actual demon conversations.
As the two of you passed some fields, Tanjiro’s crow descended, “SOUTH-SOUTHEAST SOUTH-SOUTHEAST YOUR NEXT LOCATION IS SOUTH-SOUTHEAST!”
You felt like a little bit of your soul died. You knew the crows were loud, but you were unsure of the extent. “I got it! I got it! Could you quiet down a bit please?” Tanjiro questioned
“CAW!~” a dignified scream came from the said bird.
“PLEASE!”
The scream startled the crow into Tanjiro’s arms as his eyes widened.
You paused, Zenitsu…shit…
“PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MARRY ME!” You both sweatdropped watching the blond haired Demon Slayer grapple onto a poor girl. “I DON’T KNOW WHEN I’LL DIE SO I WANT YOU TO MARRY ME PLEASE!~”
“CAW!!!!!?”
“What…the…” you heard Tanjiro mutter.
A sparrow flew at him aggressively. “CHIRP CHIRP CHIIIIIIIRP~”
You blinked as Tanjiro nodded in response. “Okay! I get it! I’ll do something!”
“CHIRP!~” The bird landed in his hand, as if excited that someone could finally understand it.
“HELP ME MARRY ME!”
Tanjiro rushed over to Zenitsu, you didn’t even need to see to know what was happening. He grabbed hold of Zenitsu’s Haori, “What are you doing in the middle of the Road?! Can’t you see that this girl doesn’t like it? And quit upsetting your sparrow!”
“HUH?! You’re that guy from Final Selection?!”
Tanjiro however ignored him, and he promptly bowed to the girl. “Everything is fine now, you can go home.”
“Thank you” She bowed in response.
Zenitsu however looked like he was cock blocked to the highest degree. “HEY! THAT GIRL LIKES ME!! SHE’S GONNA MARRY ME!”
The Slap you heard made your soul die a little more both for Zenitsu, and second hand embarrassment. “CALM DOWN!” You heard Tanjiro pull the girl off of Zenitsu,
You tilted your head as the girl pointed at the blond, “WHEN DID I EVER SAY I LIKED YOU?! YOU WERE CROUCHED AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND YOU LOOKED SICK SO I ASKED IF YOU WERE ALRIGHT!”
“You….you didn’t come over because you thought you might like me?” Oh kami he was crying.
“I AM ALREADY ENGAGED TO SOMEONE SO NO! IF YOU’RE HEALTHY ENOUGH TO HARRASS ME YOU’RE FINE! GOODBYE!”
“Wait!” Zenitsu called out after her before turning on Tanjiro, “WHY DID YOU INTERFERE?! AND WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT?!” You could only imagine the face of disgust and confusion Tanjiro gave. “WHY ARE YOU STARING LIKE I’M A PITIFUL CREATURE?! I HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR ME NOT GETTING MARRIED! I’M MOST LIKELY GOING TO DIE ON THE NEXT JOB I'M INCREDIBLY WEAK! PROTECT ME TILL I GET MARRIED!”
You rubbed your head, wanting to tell him he wouldn’t die, and that he was stronger than he thought he was. However you let Tanjiro deal with introductions, “What’s with all this help me stuff, didn’t you become a Swordsman to fight demons?”
“SAYS THE ONE TRAVELING WITH AN OBVIOUS DEMON!” Zenitsu pointed at you, “Kinda obvious with the sheet and all.” He deadpanned. “Also, Don’t be so mean! A woman tricked me and put me into deep debt, and my trainer was an old man who took on that debt, and forced me through training so bad that I wanted to die, and thought I’d die at final selection but I was unlucky and don’t know how I survived and the rest of my life will be a hell!” He started to roll on the floor.
This time since he pointed you out, you sighed, “Boyo, you’re not going to die, you’re stronger than you think. Quit your crying, it’s unbecoming of a young man such as yourself.” You deadpanned as he cried more.
Tanjiro sweatdropped, “I don’t think that helped…” Tanjiro offered him a Onigiri, “Here, have my last onigiri.”
“Oh…Thank you, You must be hungry too,…”
Tanjiro looked pained as he attempted to lie, “I’m fine…” Zenitsu heard his stomach growl before ripping it in half and handing it to him. Tanjiro gave him a heartfelt smile, as Zenitsu felt cotton around his head. Tanjiro grabbed your hand through the cloth and started to walk you forward. “I understand how you feel, but you shouldn’t upset your sparrow.”
“Huh? How do you know?” Zenitsu looked at him with full blown curiosity.
“Well, it said you’re always like this, so it doesn’t rush you off to a mission. Bothering girls, and you snore really loud.”
“CHIRP!” You heard the bird exclaim proudly.
“TALKING YOU UNDERSTAND BIRD LANGUAGE NO FUCKING WAY YOU’RE PULLING MY LEG!” Zenitsu seemed to have one volume with disbelief.
“CAW! QUICKLY! TANJIRO! ZENITSU! RUN!” Tanjiro’s crow called out.
“GAH! IT’S TALKING!”
You deadpanned again, as the three of you started taking off to the South-southeast. “Crows are highly intelligent birds known for mimicking human speech, what are you on about?”
“SO…uh Tanjiro…why…are you traveling with uh…” Zenitsu questioned trying to take his mind off of the upcoming mission and talking birds.
“Long Story.”
You smiled, though no one could see it. “Extremely long and almost unbelievable story that will wait for after the mission.” Zenitsu tilted his head at you, as you all finally reached the Mansion.
Tanjiro frowned, “I smell blood…and something else…”
“Huh? I don’t know about smell but i hear something are we going to work together on this?” Zenitsu mirrored Tanjiro’s reaction.
You tapped the boys on the shoulder inadvertently scaring Zenitsu. “Sorry…a couple of kids are over by the trees.” Granted you didn’t see them, but you could hear them being scared in the distance.
You let the two of them walk over to the children to talk to them as you continued to look up in the direction of the window, knowing a man was going to be thrown out of it. Could you save him riskin the sheet from coming off and the sun hitting you?
After a while you heard the cue, “It’s…like a Tsuzumi….” From Zenitsu.
Instead of trying to jump up, you readied yourself to catch the body that flew out of the second story window. “Sir! Are you okay?!” You called out catching him effortlessly, causing the kids to look at you in awe. “Shit he’s bleeding too much…”
Tanjiro rushed over, “His wounds are too deep…”
“Although I got out….Am I going to die…” You heard the man take his last breath.
It seems that no matter how hard you try there are just some things you couldn’t change.
A roar broke forth from the mansion, as the kids verified that it was not their brother. Tanjiro called out your name, “Zenitsu! Let's go!”
“NUH UH!”
You frowned as Zenitsu rejected the idea, but you piped up, “as much as I’d love to, I don’t want to risk accidentally falling out, or being thrown out of the window without being covered.” You stated knowing the situation.
“I understand.” Tanjiro nodded to you, handing you Nezuko’s box. But Tanjiro was downright cold to Zenitsu.
“Why are you looking at me with such disdain and pity! Almost like I’m not here at all! I’ll go I’ll gooooo!~”
“I don’t want to force you to do anything…” Tanjiro growled.
“I SAID I’LL GO!~”
Tanjiro walked you and the box over to the kids. “Hey, while I’m gone, stay close to the box and this lady. They will protect you if anything happens. Okay?” The kids stared at you and the box, obviously scared shitless. How is a cloaked person and a box going to protect a couple of children? They obviously thought, as the two Demon Slayers headed into the mansion.
You heard Nezuko claw at the box, and you went to say something to her, however the kids freaked out and took off into the mansion. You sighed, “Well, they will be fine, it’ll just be me and you Nezuko, it’s still light out so don’t come out yet darlin.” You responded to her clawing with fondness.
You heard a small hum. You didn’t really know what to do to pass the time.
“The situation is inside there are three demons. One was luring in Marechi’s to eat to get stronger, however that also lured a couple more into his terf to get the said blood. Because people with Marechi blood are like eating a hundred humans. The one luring used to be a Twelve Kizuki and uses Tsuzumi’s to change the rooms around. Tanjiro will be able to dispose of it. There is a Demon with a long tongue that Zenitsu will dispose of, but he won’t remember cause he’ll be knocked out, and there will be another Demon Slayer that is rather…Boarish to say the least. Very uncouth and he’ll deal with the other demon, but he will also attack Zenitsu and attempt to go after you while in the box. His name is Inosuke, but he’s a charming boy in his own way.” You paused realizing she was probably confused as to how you knew all of this, “as I told Zenitsu, I’ll explain how I know stuff once we get to the Wisteria house…well I didn’t tell him that but I said I would explain after this Mission. I don’t need to be unloading too much information onto you.” You stated, patting her box like you would have patted her head. “I don’t know the cue for when Zenitsu and Shoichi will fall out of the window, so I might not get to them in time. Which means Zenitsu will hit his head pretty hard. Unless I go over there to prepare, you’ll be fine right here as I will keep my eyes on you.”
You nodded to yourself realizing that would be the better course of action. Walking over to the area where they would fall, you stood there, waiting. You didn’t need to risk the sun by jumping into the air, you could catch the two.
You paused hearing a lot of Tsuzumi strikes consecutively. Tanjiro must be fighting Kyogai. You looked up sharply and saw a mass of yellow fly out of the window. “ZENITSU!” You called out bracing yourself as you caught the two boys. Zenitsu was holding Shoichi tight to his chest. You smiled at that.
Zenitsu’s eyes widened realizing he was in your arms. His heart was pounding. Shoichi looked up at you confused. “You…caught us?”
You nodded, though they couldn’t see it. “I didn’t want to risk anyone falling out and cracking their head open. Some injuries you guys can’t afford to have.” Although Zenitsu couldn’t see you, he felt as if Cotton was floating around his head.
But regardless Zenitsu panicked, “BUT YOU’RE A DEMON!!” Holding Shoichi closer.
You deadpanned, “I know…But here I am.” You lowered the boys to the ground, “I did say I would explain things after the mission, but I’ll wait longer. Short story for the little one here. I’m a demon, but I don’t want to eat you. You don’t have to believe me, but I did just save you two.” You knew Shoichi was panicking, and so did Zenitsu. “I’m not going to lie about who I am, there is no point. You don’t need to believe me, nor do you need to trust me. I’d rather you didn’t. For if you trust me, you might trust the wrong demons in the future, and end up dead.”
Zenitsu paused looking up at you. He couldn’t hear any lies in what you said. “I believe you.” He responded. You smiled from underneath the sheet.
“BOAR RUSH! COMING THROUGH!~” You heard a yell.
your head shot up as did the other boys, “Fuck…” You ran straight over to Nezuko’s box confusing Zenitsu for a moment, before he recalled that the box was important to Tanjiro.
“I sense Demons!” You heard Inosuke cry out. Zenitsu’s eyes widened in realization and as you threw yourself over Nezuko’s box, Zenitsu threw himself in front of you two. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING THOSE TWO ARE DEMONS!”
“You will not harm them! The box is important to Tanjiro, and she is defending it, therefore I’ll defend her!”
“THERE IS A DEMON IN THE BOX! Are you stupid?!”
“OF COURSE I KNOW! I’VE KNOWN FROM THE START!” you heard Zenitsu screech from beside you. “I intend to ask Tanjiro why he is traveling with two demons, but until then You will not touch them!”
“FIGHT ME!” Inosuke kicked Zenitsu, which made your blood boil. “DRAW YOUR SWORD AND FIGHT ME!”
You went to get up and risk the sun, but Zenitsu tightly covered you from behind causing you to hold onto the box tightly.
“FIGHT ME!” Inosuke kicked him in the jaw causing the three of you to fly. “You talk tough but you didn’t draw your sword! If you’re in the Demon Slayer Corps then you should show me how you fight! OR I’ll skewer the three of you!”
Inosuke went to raise his sword, you tried to push Zenitsu away without thinking. Heat of the moment you weren’t sure of what all would happen since you were traveling with them. However Zenitsu had an extremely firm grip. “I protected it Tanjiro…you said it was more important than your life…” You heard Zenitsu cough out.
“STOP!” You heard Tanjiro scream out, as he rushed forward and punched Inosuke in the ribs, hearing the cracks as he launched Inosuke off of you two. “Aren’t you in the Demon Slayer Corps?!”
“HE JUST BROKE HIS RIBS!” Zenitsu screamed out.
You winced from his scream, “Just his ribs, he’ll be fine….please can I get out of your hold?” He held on tighter, “You can hold the box please just let me gooooo~” you whined. But the Blond was too entranced by Tanjiro and Inosuke.
“Do you really get into deadly fights for fun? Are you really such a coward?!” Your eyes widened as you saw the veins show on Tanjiro. He was pissed off and it scared you. The three kids took their moment to run over to You and Zenitsu, hiding behind the two of you.
Inosuke only started to laugh. “Is that your problem? Fine, we'll fight barehanded!” As if that solved everything.
That took Tanjiro off balance, “I don’t think you understand! It’s wrong for members of the corps to fight each other at all! It doesn’t matter if it’s barehanded!”
Inosuke continued with his attack on Tanjiro. You tilted your head listening as Zenitsu finally pulled away from you holding a cloth that Shoichi gave him. Suddenly you heard Inosuke laughed, yelling out how awesome he was.
“Stop doing that, you have broken ribs! You’ll make yourself worse!” Tanjiro yelled out, worried for the boy.
“I don’t care! All that matters is the pleasure of this moment!”
“CALM DOWN! THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE TOO!” With that a wicked crack sounded through the air causing you to wince.
“WAAAAAH THAT SOUND DID THEY CRACK THEIR SKULLS?!” Zenitsu cried out from the thought. The sound of the mask falling off and hitting the ground noted the cue. “A GIRL?! THAT FACE!”
You shot up, “Zenitsu! Don’t be rude!”
“HE HAS THE FACE OF A GIRL AND A BUFF BODY OF A GUY IT’S WEIRD!~”
“It is not!” You growled out.
“What?! You got a problem with my face?!”
Tanjiro then took a stance, “I have no problem with your face! It is fair complexion and attractive therefore desirable!”
You tilted your head in thought, “not wrong…”
Zenitsu looked at you, “How would you know? You have a sheet over your head.”
“I’LL KILL YOU BRING IT ON!”
“NOPE! I won’t fight you anymore!”
“FIGHT ME! HEADBUTT ME AGAIN!”
“No! Let's all sit down, are you alright?” You were in awe of how caring Tanjiro was towards the boy.
“Listen Forehead! I am Inosuke Hashibira! Remember it!”
“How do you write that?!” Tanjiro cried back with as much ferocity as Inosuke. Confusing the kids and Zenitsu with randomness. You only lightly giggled.
“Uh…write? I Can’t read or write, it’s written on my loincloth though……”
Which begged to question as Inosuke froze up. How did he know it was on his loincloth if he couldn’t read?
“He…stopped?” Shoichi blinked.
Inosuke fell to the ground and Zenitsu cried out, “IS HE DEAD?! IS HE DEAD?!” Using the chance to hide behind the little girl.
Tanjiro being one of the only calm people, “No, probably has a concussion. I gave him a pretty good headbutt.”
You nodded, “He’ll be fine. Can you two give me your Haori’s?” You stood up to walk over to Inosuke. Tanjiro nodded and handed his over to you as you folded it and placed it under Inosuke’s head.
“Why are you comforting him?! He tried to kill you! Us!” Zenitsu cried out but not before he gave you his Haori as well.
You tilted your head in thought as you covered Inosuke up with it. “There is enough chaos and confusion in the world. It needs more kindness, perhaps it helps them open up and be kind in return.”
Tanjiro smiled softly, “Agreed. Now…” Tanjiro looked to the building, “we should go and bury the dead.”
You smiled back, “You take a rest Tanjiro you’re injured, I’ll bring out the dead now that there is no risk of me falling out of a window into the sunlight.”
Tanjiro vehemothly shook his head, “No! We can all go! I mean the kids can stay, but we can do this together, get it done quicker!”
“I don’t want to go near dead bodies!” Zenitsu cried.
You and Tanjiro deadpanned, “Boyo, the dead can’t hurt you…” you told him, you picked up Zenitsu through your sheet and walked into the mansion. Once in you placed him down and you raised the sheet to show your face so you could look around and not have to sniff out blood.
“WAAAAH COME ON~” Zenitsu cried out your name, “have a heart~”
You smiled, “just think of the implications of what you just said Zenitsu. One I’m a demon, so if I have a heart that means me taking a physical one to eat.” The boy paled. “While emotions are a little more of a tricky matter, we do feel the more extreme of things, hatred, lust excetra, caring and love is usually out of bounds.”
You stopped at. Room with three bodies in it, and Zenitsu looked at you, and he gasped, “You’re beautiful!”
You blinked, “Uh thanks? But highly inappropriate with the surrounding dead bodies!” Zenitsu blushed as you recovered your head from the awkwardness. You sniffed and picked up a body, “can you put another body in my arms, and you can carry that one out?”
Zenitsu nodded as he did so, “So uh…Miss, you said you’d explain after the mission?” He questioned as he picked up the third body and you went to follow him out of the mansion.
“Hm…Not right now, considering I still have things to tell Tanjiro as well, and we should focus on burrying the dead so that they don’t attract more demons. But I will explain everything to the best of my ability.”
Zenitsu nodded, “Alright.”
You however tilted your head curious about Zenitsu and why he trusted you. But you partially knew it was because you were traveling with Tanjiro and that he was a kind hearted boy. Tanjiro and the kids had started digging up dirt, and the three of you laid the bodies down, and you an Zenitsu went to assist for the last one before going to get more bodies.
You tilted your head to Tanjiro, “Hey Tanjiro…can you let me know when the sun goes down or once we descend the mountain? Would be nice to take this sheet off for a bit.”
Tanjiro smiled, “Of course!” He picked up a rock with the kids to lay it on the mounds as Inosuke woke up jumping up startling Zenitsu.
“HE’S BACK UP!” Zenitsu cried out moving to run behind you and not the little girl this time.
“COME ON BRING IT!” Inosuke went to chase after him, but paused at the scene ahead of him. “What are you guys doing?”
Tanjiro looked over, “we’re laying the dead to rest. Could you help us Inosuke? There is still a dead body in the mansion.”
“What is the point of burying a living things corpse? I won’t do that! Fight me instead!”
“Oh…I see your wounds are too painful, so you can’t help…” you blinked hering how sincere Tanjiro spoke. “That’s alright everyone’s pain threshold is different! Carrying dead people out of a mansion and digging a hole is really hard, but we’ll work hard with the kids so that you can rest Inosuke don’t worry!”
You were confused. Tanjiro had a hard time lying, so was this weaving a story with a lie and….you were confused. This kid had a great mind when it came to inadvertantly manipulating people; it scared you.
“DON’T MOCK ME I CAN BURY A HUNDRED NO TWO HUNDRED BODIES! MORE THAN ANYONE!” Inosuke ran straight off into the mansion.
You blinked turning to Tanjiro’s direction. “I could have gone in again…”
Tanjiro only smiled at you. “Nah, slight payback for trying to attack you guys, he’ll be fine.” You snorted in response.
Once the final body was burried Inosuke was slamming his head against a tree, while Tanjiro’s crow announced for you all to descend the mountain.
Zenitsu threw a fit over having to leave Shoichi behind. Causing Tanjiro to knock him out. Tanjiro’s crow coughed up a charm bag, both you and Tanjiros noses twitched at it. But yours for a reason. “A DEMON WARD FOR THE MARECHI! KEEP IT ON YOUR PERSON!”
“Smells like Wisteria.” Tanjiro commented.
“Yup.” You responded not feeling too comfortable being around it, and the scent burnt your nose a little.
One of the kids grabbed it and took it over to you, “DOES IT REPEL YOU?!” Shoving it into your face. It seemed more like an allergy to you.
Tanjiro sweat dropped and went to pull the girl away from you. “That’s rude!”
“I Don’t feel too comfortable around it, makes me want to go away.” You took a step back before you sneezed. “Then again I think I had an Allergy to Wisteria when I was human too….so hard to say…”
The kids looked up at you wide eyed along with Tanjiro. Everyone split up and Tanjiro was going to pick up Zenitsu, Granted you couldn’t see this, you stepped forward, “Help me get Zenitsu on my back please.”
Tanjiro glanced at you, “I could carry him !”
You tilted your head, “You’re already carrying a lot, I’m more than capable.”
“Oh, if you’re certain then!”
“I insist!” You almost felt like you had the stubbornness of Rengoku for the moment. You kneeled and Tanjiro helped position Zenitsu onto your back. “Thank you Tanjiro~”
“No problem! The Sun should be down soon.” The three of you started to walk following Tanjiro’s crow down the mountain. “Did you grow up in the mountains too, Inosuke?”
“I’M NOTHING LIKE YOU! I have parents, siblings too! My only pleasure is to match my strength against others!”
“Oh…that’s sad…” Tanjiro sheded a tear for him.
“I fought a Demon Slayer, won, took his sword, then I found out about Final Selection and I got into the Corps easy! You better keep an eye open, cause when I spot an opening I’m gonna take you down!”
“I’M KAMADO TANJIRO!” You were always confused as to what prompted this introduction.
“Okay Kamaboko Gonpchiro I’mma beat you!” Inosuke announced flexing his muscles with pride.
“WHO THE HECK IS THAT?!” Tanjiro cried out his eyes almost buldging.
“YOU!”
“IT’S SOMEONE ELSE!” Tanjiro exclaimed.
“WILL YOU BOTH SHUT UP!” Zenitsu screeched from your back at them causing you to wince. Zenitsu noticed and felt bad. “Sorry…my head hurts…”
You blinked, “No worries, mine hurts now too…”
“Oh yeah! The Sun is down!” Tanjiro exclaimed, as you helped Zenitsu back to the ground and you took the sheet off of yourself and rolling it up in your arms. “Are you okay to walk Zenitsu?” Tanjiro asked him and he nodded in response, Inosuke barely giving you a glance as you all finally reached the Wisteria House.
“CAW!~ REST TILL YOUR WOUNDS ARE FULLY HEALED!”
An older woman came to the door “Hello?” She looked each and every person over, giving you a long look.
“YIKES! Sorry to arrive so late!” Tanjiro looked towards the woman with the utmost kindness.
“A GHOST ITS A GHOST”! A part of your soul died at Zenitsu’s screech.
“KNOCK IT OFF!” Tanjiro yelled at him.
“You three must be Demon Slayers…and you…are a Demon.” The older lady said looking pointedly at you.
You only nodded, “Yes Ma’am. I will not hide what I am, I wanted to help escort these boys to safety, I understand if I am not welcome here. I will leave if it makes you feel comfortable.” You bowed in respect, “I have no intention on eating people. The idea disgusts me.”
The older woman hummed in thought, “Please come in, just be aware if you do step out of line, I will request you to be killed.”
“I understand.” You turned to Inosuke, “Inosuke, if I ever reach to harm a human in a means to murder and not defend another, or to feed, I ask you to cut my head off. Or tie me up till the sun rises.”
“Why are you asking him?!” Zenitsu cried out.
You deadpanned in response, “Zenitsu, did you want to cut my head off?”
“I mean no…. You’re kind!”
“And Tanjiro is kind too, and so is Inosuke, but I trust Inosuke as he barely knows me right now. Once he does, I’ll leave the decision to someone else.”
Inosuke only nodded, “As the great King of the Mountains, I accept!”
The older lady however tilted her head slightly amused by the interactions, and was convinced enough to allow you in. The Four of you followed her, as she sped through the house. “Here is a change of clothes.” Another room, “a Warm Meal.” Another room, “And a Warm bed. A doctor shall be here shortly to attend to your wounds.” And with that she dismissed herself as quickly as she came.
Zenitsu however reminded you of a wiggling worm. “SHE’S A GHOST TANJIRO! A MONSTER! UNNATURALLY FAST! SHE’S A GHOST! THAT OLD-”
Tanjiro slammed his fist against the top of Zenitsu’s head. “Show some respect!”
It slightly amused you. While they went to change clothes, and eat, you stayed in the bedroom with Nezuko’s box.
The three piled in and found you leaning against the box in the corner as the boys were getting ready for bed. “Well, since no one is asking, why is it that you are traveling with demons?”
Tanjiro blinked, “You knew and you still protected them? You really are a great guy Zenitsu, thank you.”
“WAAAAH don’t flatter me so much~” you covered your mouth to prevent yourself from giggling at Zenitsu rolling around the floor as Inosuke ignored the other two.
“I have a keen sense of smell.” Tanjiro smiled pointing at his nose. “From the very start I knew you were good and strong.”
Zenitsu gave him a look, “Don’t tease me I’m not that strong…I haven’t forgiven you for leaving Shoichi behind.”
This time you snorted as you heard scratching from behind you. “Believe it or not Zenitsu, you are way stronger than you give yourself credit for…”
“GAH! IT’S TRYING TO GET OUT!” You deadpanned at that, course he’d focus on the box and not the praise.
“It’s alright!”
“IT ISN’T EVEN LOCKED?!”
You turned as the door opened, and you lowered a hand to help Nezuko out of her box, coming out as a small child before adjusting herself to a teen. Zenitsu froze looking at her, while you patted her head. She hummed tilting her head towards you.
“This is Nezuko, my…” and that was all Tanjiro could get out.
“YOU YOU GOT IT SO GOOD!” Zenitsu belted out at Tanjiro, causing the latter to be confused. “YOU WERE TRAVELING WITH CUTE GIRLS EVERY DAY AND TRAVELING IN PURE BLESS I CAN’T BELIEVE I STOOD UP FOR YOU WHEN YOU WERE BUILDING A DEMON HAREM!” You walked over to Zenitsu and picked him up into an arm lock from behind, “HEY LET ME DOWN!”
“Nezuko is his fucking sister you dip shit.” You growled out as Zenitsu relaxed a little, looking horrified. “And Tanjiro is too fucking young for me. I’m a part of no Harem, thank you very much.”
You let go of Zenitsu, and Tanjiro explained his and Nezuko’s predicament as Nezuko nuzzled into your lap. You tried to keep Zenitsu from badgering her too much. After that, Zenitsu turned to you, “Hey…um, so what’s your story?”
You rubbed the back of your neck, “It’s…extremely complicated and unbelievable honestly. I’m from the year 2022, and…”
“WHAT!?” Zenitsu and Tanjiro screamed out,.
You waved your hands, “For fuck sake, people are sleeping keep your voices down.” You responded as both boys covered their mouths. Nezuko only hummed looking up at you. “Anyway I was doing a paper for a University class, based on a demon…that I believed was fictional. In Fact I thought this world..was fictional. I fell asleep around the middle of the night and had some weird dreams, one of which was the Flame Hashira in this world, and when I fell in my dream I woke up in the woods, and found…by one of the Twelve Kizuki. Upper Rank 2 Douma. Almost 100 years in the past.” You gulped.
Zenitsu deadpanned, “you…expect us to believe this?”
You deadpanned back, “you’re the one with good hearing, do you hear lies? Tanjiro do you smell me lying?” Both boys looked at each other before shaking their heads no. “I am from America. I didn’t know any Japanese. However, apparently Demons know almost any language. I revealed information, without them telling me. Such as knowing names I shouldn’t have, and some information that most people except themselves would know, and they took me to Muzan Kibutsuji.”
Tanjiro leaned forward, “What kind of information?”
You took a deep breath. “For starters, Douma is a Cult Leader, he was born with Prismatic eyes, and his parents thought he was a God and built a religion around him. However, he doesn’t have emotions, he is mainly a shell that learned how to mask by learning what emotions looked like to other people and mirrored that. Upper Rank 3, Akaza, doesn’t attack or kill women if given the opportunity. He’ll avoid, but will amend this if necessary. Such as his life on the line.”
Both boys' eyes widened as they sat forward hanging onto every word. “So…you met Muzan?” Tanjiro questioned as you nodded.
“Honestly, I thought I was dreaming. I begged to stay in Douma’s cult, saying I wouldn’t even mention him eating his followers if they didn’t take me to Muzan. But they did. Muzan dismissed them. And debated on killing me before he realized I had Marechi blood… that I was somehow related to him by blood, and that I was dying due to an illness that hasn't taken effect yet but would have.”
Zenitsu’s eyes bugged out, ”Wait he could tell that how?!”
“He cut my cheek and tasted my blood. He asked me if I wanted to keep living, or be eaten. I opted for the Former.” You rubbed your one arm while your free hand ran through Nezuko’s hair. “I didn’t remember any of this, till Lady Tamayo help lift Muzan’s curse from me.” Tanjiro’s eyes widened in realization. “When he turned me…he forced me to feed on Marechi’s. He killed them, I ate them. I was…”His daughter…” and that no daughter of his was going to be weak. He had me train under the Upper Moons for a while, refused to let me be one, and wanted me to work outside of the Kizuki, and look for Lady Tamayo and bring her to him, which is when I came across Tanjiro, and saw him confront Muzan, who didn’t know I was in the city.”
Tanjiro looked at you saddened, “Oh wow…have you killed anyone?”
“Honestly no, I only ate, when I was allowed to get food on my own, I stuck with Animals, even tho Muzan told me I wouldn’t get anything out of it. When Lady Tamayo revealed that, that was a lie. I wanted to move around as discreetly as possible without drawing the attention of Demon Slayers, cause well I didn’t have a death wish.”
Zenitsu looked at you, “how old are you?”
You hummed, “I was 20 when I was turned…and timetraveled somehow. Douma said at the time it was 1908, and it’s 1912 now? So…technically I’d be 24?”
“What were you studying in for your University?” Tanjiro questioned, “I was unaware girls had that opportunity.”
“In this time it’s a rarity. However it’s more common in the future. I was studying Psychology, and doing a paper on Douma and the possibility of him having Antisocial Personality Disorder.”
“Heh?” Both boys looked clueless. “What’s that?”
“It’s a disorder characterized mainly by the disregard for other people. Sometimes the person can be seen as emotionless and charismatic, being able to get what they want out of things.” You shrugged, “honestly I wasn’t expecting much…”
“Have you met any other of the Kizuki?” Tanjiro looked at you with determination for knowledge.
You nodded, “Yes, I’ve sat in on Upper and Lower Moon meetings, and trained with the Upper Moons at times. After all Muzan didn’t want to have a weak daughter.” You scoffed.
Zenitsu tilted his head and squinted, “Why does he call you his daughter?”
“Remember? I said he tasted my blood and he tasted…”himself” as well. Meaning somewhere in the future, he was either an ancestor of mine, or something. And since there was that small connection, he took it, and ran a kilometer, and called me a Daughter for being somewhat related.”
Tanjiro punched his hand, “That makes so much sense!”
“Heh?” You and Zenitsu looked clueless this time.
“Question, do Demons exist in your timeline?”
You paused to think, “I mean Religious wise with Christianity, maybe some other religions they are thought of, but I am Honestly unsure of that answer. I’ve never come across one, but where I’m from some prayers are said to exorcize the entities. They only have the ability to possess if they have permission.”
Tanjiro nodded with this information. “Okay so, how do you know about these demons from here?”
“My timeline has Manga and Anime. Books and shows based on a fictional story. Such as a young kind hearted boy and his demon sister who fight against demons to make her human again.” You watched them blink, “I didn’t read the manga further than the Tsuzumi Mansion Arc which we just went through, however Anime wise I was caught up with what was out.”
“Wait so you know the future?!”
You blinked, “Wrong Question”
“WE DON’T EXIST?!” Zenitsu cried out.
You paused, “I don’t think that’s it either…I mean there was a thing where when a person dies in their world they get either reincarnated or teleported to an anime/game/my reality, but I didn’t exactly die. I was dreaming that I was training with the Flame Hashira on a cloud, which I fell through and hit the earth, which I woke up and Douma found me…so I assumed I got Itsukaied, which is the term for that…I think.”
Tanjiro’s mind was reeling. “I have a small theory…hear me out. Demon Slayers aren’t looked upon happily by the government right? If Demons have evolved to still be looked down as not real, perhaps the Author is a Demon Slayer, and was educating the population or the readers/viewers of the possible threat without gaining attention from the government?”
Zenitsu paused for a moment before placing a finger on his chin, “so that wouldn’t make us fictional, but you would definitely be from the future timeline….”
Tanjiro smiled looking even more determined, “So in either your timeline Demons still exist and you are a descendent of Kibutsuji, OR directly related in some way!”
You closed your eyes tightly, “That is almost as unbelievable as what has actually happened to me, that I should take it into consideration.” Both boys nodded ferociously. “I couldn’t even. tell you which generation he would have been, considering he can shapeshift his appearance. And even then Demon’s can’t Procreate like humans…can they?”
Zenitsu hummed in thought, as Nezuko minded her own business. “I mean, I don’t think it’s been a possibility honestly. What kind of human would volunteer to try it for science? It would have the be a female human, I don’t see a female demon giving birth or getting pregnant.”
You furrowed your brows, “Unless…like a ritual of sorts, certain situations need to be met, like Witchcraft? Solstices? Only other way MAYBE female demons cannot give birth, and only the males can impregnant human females, but even then this is horrible thoughts of Muzan having sex that I do not want to have…”
You shivered disgusted with your thoughts as the two boys looked horrified. Zenitsu started to cry “WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SAY THAT!?”
Tanjiro only shook his head, not wanting to think of it. “All of which are possible, since it’s actually stated that Demons can only multiply by blood…which could be another lie told by Kibutsuji, considering that you just learned you can be sustained with Animals, and he told you otherwise.”
You rubbed your eyes, “True, who knows what all lies he spread. He doesn’t want us grouping up. Too much of prey in one area can overcome the predator. Doesn’t want us eating Animals, because Humans probably helps control the populations. Too many humans, too many possibilties to be killed, more of a chance to hide. Only He can create demons, which Lady Tamayo has proven otherwise…”
“So there is a chance that he might literally be your father or grandfather or great grandfather!” Tanjiro exclaimed.
You frowned in thought, “Kibutsuji has gotten married in the past, Usually each time his wives all human, end up committing suicide however.” Your eyes widened with the realization. “I was adopted. I never knew my parents, grandparents, etc. But if that’s the case…Kibutsuji should be dead by the end of the story, which means he should be dead in my timeline…So that would either make him a Great Grandparent or a grandparent…Oh my head hurts.”
Zenitsu looked around, “I don’t understand how Inosuke can sleep through stuff like this…”
Inosuke snorted, “I’m listening dammit. How can anyone sleep with you all yacking away.”
You chuckled at that before looking up to the other two again. “My best option…would be working with the Demon Slayer Corps. But…I wasn’t in the original story, so I have no idea what the Hashira’s will do with me, or my connection…Can I even change a thing? Can I actually save people who might die? If I do how badly will that affect things?”
Both boys looked unsure, Zenitsu gave you a weary look. “Anything we should know about the next mission?”
You rubbed the back of your neck in thought, “Spider Demon Family. Lower Moon Five. He’s a child with white hair and will try to take Nezuko for a sister. Tanjiro will break his sword…Hinokami Kagura!” You yelled out, making Tanjiro jump.
“Huh? How do…What about it?” Tanjiro looked confused.
“You’ll be trying to perform it as an attack. But…that is all I’m willing to say, I don’t want to change too much.”
Zenitsu whined, “COME ON YOU CAN’T JUST LEAVE US AT THAT! WILL I DIE?!”
You frowned “No, you four will not die.”
Tanjiro gave you a soft smile, “I understand. If there is anything we can change…or you can help with, let us know.”
You nodded, “Of course. There are things I really want to help and change, but I’m scared. Some changes help shape events, and lead people to do other things…” You looked out of the window, “IT’s late, try to get some sleep while you can. You three need to get better.”
Story:
The next day I woke up bright and early along with the boys. I got dressed in my previous day’s clothes not knowing if I should or shouldn’t. All I had was the yukata to sleep in. I spectated what the boys were doing, and basically mimicked their action. I just didn’t want to sit down all day on my ass and do something. I was always doing something in my world. I ate with Zenitsu and Kaigaku, however they were sent out before I could run off to follow their training.
I washed the dishes, and Kuwajima watched me. “Rikka.” I instantly turned to him as I dried my hands.
“Hm?” I blinked as he made the same motion as last night with his hand. Unspoken follow me. And I did. I followed him outside the building onto the Engawa.
I blinked as he tossed a Bokken at me, which I caught by the handle. My face brightened as I looked to him, “I can train under you?!”
My response made him softly smile at that, he didn’t understand what I said, but he could feel my enthusiasm. Kuwajima steadied himself and lifted his cane as if a sword, and made a basic sword lunge.
I moved to follow his motions, and he rapped his cane on the side of my thigh up by my hips. I hissed out.
“Wrong, again.”
I moved again, he wacked me in the same spot. “OUCH!”
“Ouch, and wrong again.”
This was a double lesson. I moved again, the cane came in contact, “OUCH!” Kuwajima smiled at that, I finally got the sword lunge about the twentieth time, and managed to keep my form. Kuwajima walked around me as I continued.
“I’m sure you don’t understand, but keep going till I say stop.”
Usually when it came to the Manga or show, I understood that I was supposed to keep doing this like one thousand times and I cried a little inside. However I knew it would be worth it. I had to do something while figuring out a way to get back to my world. Somehow in this world Demons must be involved, and for me to figure out anything I had to push forward.
My arms hurt by the time the boys got back around lunch time. They were carrying a few bundles. I heard Zenitsu call out my name and I stumbled in my form. “Are you alright? You look like you might fall over!”
I blinked, “Uh…I am okay. Thank you.” I bowed my head.
Zenitsu’s eyes widened before he smiled. He grabbed a hold of the sleeve of my flannel and tugged at it, meaning for me to follow him, so I did. Keeping the Bokken in hand as he led me back onto the Engawa. Kaigaku gave Zenitsu a once over, “Surprised you haven’t tried to propose to her yet.”
Zenitsu frowned, “She’s much older! Plus she wouldn’t understand if I did!” he wasn’t too fond of his comrades input. It’s not like he had to propose to every beautiful woman he saw.
I just blinked out of confusion, before glancing at the exasperated Ex Hashira. “I’m grateful she doesn’t fully understand Japanese right now…” he shook his head, before leading me into the building, where the boys laid down their bundles.
He motioned for me to look at them. I untied the ribbon on a couple of them. One had a gray Kimono with a bright blue Obi. Kuwajima hummed out of approval. On top was a pair of wooden sandals and tabi socks. Underneath it all was a blue Yukata with what seemed to be blue spider lilies decorating it, along with a matching Haori and a black pair of Hakama pants.
My heart dropped at the blue spider lily pattern and I frowned. I couldn’t help but wonder why the two boys decided to pick that. Zenitsu started to panic thinking I didn’t like it. I shook my hands with a grin, “Thank you very much. They are uh, beautiful!” Heartfelt. Kaigaku kicked another bundle at me, which caused the older man to scold his disciple. Unwrapping it, my eyes brightened. English and Japanese books! I repeated my thanks and hugged Kuwajima and Zenitsu who blushed in response.
While I wasn’t going to hug Kaigaku, he gave me a glare as if saying don’t you try. I deadpanned, “You know that makes me want to do it just to spite you right?”
Kaigaku deadpanned back, “I don’t know English dumbass.”
“Kaigaku!” came from both Kuwajima and Zenitsu. Indicating it wasn’t nice, but context clues were great.
“You dumbass.” Zenitsu’s jaw dropped at that and Kaigaku busted up laughin in response as Kuwajima sighed.
Kaigaku wiped his eyes, giving a genuine grin at that, “You were right Master, she is a quick learner!”
Kuwajima glared at the boy, “You take her stuff to her room then.” He then looked at you and handed the books to me, “You might as well start now, you can get back to training tomorrow.”
I only nodded even though I didn’t understand. I noticed a couple of journals, brush and ink too. I gave a soft smile, once more thanking the older man before going to my room to sit down and work by candle light. Zenitsu brought my food in again, seeming to be rice, Miso and yakitori.
Kuwajima checked in on me during the night, noticing that I passed out studying. He covered me up with a blanket.
A Month had passed since then. My Japanese got better, which Kuwajima hoped for, as he pulled me to the side one day while allowing the boys to train ahead of me. My eyes widened when he pulled out the manga that managed to travel with me. Stories of Water and Flame. “Read this to me.”
I nodded, not even thinking of Zenitsu, who could possibly hear me up to a mile away. I translated the English words to Japanese to the best of my ability while Kuwajima followed along with the images in the Manga. I finished about an hour later, even explaining the between the scenes at the end of it.
While I was far from Perfect at speaking Japanese, I’ve clearly come a long way. “Mind telling me, how you came across a book about two current Hashira?”
Kuwajima could tell I was a little reluctant, however I held no ill will. However, his instincts about me could have been wrong all along. “It may be hard to believe, but I’m uh, to be honest, I don’t know how to explain it…”
Kuwajima only nodded in patience. “Take your time.”
I frowned, taking a deep breath, “Where I am from, this…world here is a Fantasy. Demons don’t exist to my knowledge outside of Religious fears. A good chunk of the world knows of this fantasy world. I’m also from the Reiwa Era. There are a lot of…books and shows like this, I’m just a fan of it. I was working on fixing my computer and I blacked out waking up where you found me.”
“Tell me about the Boys, I saw Zenitsu in the book.”
I nodded, “Zenitsu meets a boy who is traveling with his Demon sister, who hasn’t eaten anyone and can regenerate by sleeping. Zenitsu really adores her, and they end up together in the end. Kaigaku…on the other hand…he…”
“What about me?” I clammed up as Kaigaku came in.
Kuwajima shook his head, however I responded, “I was saying how helpful you were, and that I appreciated your patience with me while training and learning Japanese.” I responded with a soft smile as Zenitsu followed with a look on his face. For some reason, it completely slipped my mind that he could hear me talking to Kuwajima, and knew I was lying. “Zenitsu too has been wonderful help, I wouldn’t have been able to survive without you three, I am…eternally grateful.” I added on, speaking truthfully, causing Zenitsu to tilt his head.
Kuwajima waved his hand to have the boys go back out to train, “Go jog. Or Spar or something.” He knew Zenitsu’s hearing couldn’t be helped, even if he wanted a private conversation. The two rushed back out. “What do you want to do?”
I furrowed my brows. “I…just want to get home, I’m worried about my older sister, My one sister, she doesn’t like changing diapers, and I don’t want her to take care of her alone. I think…I need to become a Demon Slayer, to find out why or how I got here. I want to be able to help out…and maybe save a few people along the way? Maybe even finding a way back to my world?”
Kuwajima nodded, accepting my answer. “Now, I noticed you haven’t eaten a lot, nor have you lost weight either. With the training even. Is it because you’re worried about your sister?”
I frowned and shook my head, “I have….Hypothyroidism. An under active…Thyroid. Which makes it difficult to lose weight. Sometimes I feel tired all the time, or don’t have an appetite…Kinda like a need to Hibernate…Like Bears that sleep during the Winter?” I made a motion of sleeping with my hand.
“Hibernate.” Kuwajima gave me a smile. “It doesn’t seem to affect your training. So I won’t think much on it. Now I’m sending Kaigaku to Final Selection soon. I’ll be sending you with Zenitsu in a years time, if you are ready by then.”
I nodded, “I appreciate it Sir, thank you.” However I fidgeted in my chair. “I haven’t been able to pick up on Thunder Breathing…will that be an issue?”
Kuwajima hummed in thought. “Thunder Breathing isn’t for everyone, Zenitsu only knows the first form, Kaigaku knows all the other forms but first. There are plenty of Slayers out there with no breathing styles at all. What I suggest for you, is to focus on Total Concentration Breathing. Work towards Total Concentration Constant. Maybe even to see the Transparent World, but not everyone can do that either.”
My head perked up at that, “You really think I can master Total Concentration Constant, Master?”
Kuwajima laughed, “If there is anyone I expect to master it, it is my students.” He stood up and patted my shoulder. “You know the basics, just try to go out and keep it up during training, while sleeping maybe a tad more difficult. Go and join the boys in a jog”
“Yes Master.” I said with a smile, as I got up to stand. Kuwajima handed me a sword.
“To get used to the weight and practice moving around with it.”
My eyes brightened the weight of the sword feeling a little daunting. Secretly I wished I had my Naginata that I purchased from a Renaissance fair a few years back. I didn’t know how to use it, so maybe it was for the best.
Getting into a run to join the boys, I was able to keep up with Total Concentration Breathing. I had time to self reflect as I trained. I was able to do back flips now, which I wasn’t able to do. I was a lot more flexible, more agile.
What would I need the coming days or years. Fuck I had to spend a year before I can figure out to how to at least find a means to get home!
As a crow flew above us, I knew Kuwajima was alerting Ubuyashiki of me, and most likely the manga I had with me.
I couldn't help but to think on the series and an attempt to think of things that could work in my favor.
First thing I thought of was Inosuke and his Mask. If I expressed Physical pain through facial expressions, It would mask anything I was unable to contain. Not to assume I’d be on the Mugen train, but if the eyes were positioned at a weird angle Enmu wouldn’t be able to guess where I was staring…but then again.
Kuwajima mentioned the Transparent World. If I remember correctly, that was Himajima’s thing.
Out of nowhere Kaigaku charged at me with a fist, hitting me in the gut and knocking the wind out of me and off of my Total Concentration Breathing. Zenitsu’s eyes widened, “KAIGAKU?!” I doubled over coughing and dropping my Katana..
Kaigaku scoffed, “She wasn’t paying attention I was trying to ask her a question and she was completely zoned out.”
I glared at the older teen, “Okay, you got my attention.” I coughed again, finally catching my breath. Zenitsu was instantly by my side.
“You think you can really become a Demon Slayer?” Kaigaku jumped to grab a peach from a nearby tree. “You can’t even use Thunder Breathing.” I twitched, as he took a bite from the peach.
“Out of line Kaigaku!” Zenitsu announced, causing Kaigaku to laugh.
“You can only use The first form! You’re no better!” Kaigaku went to throw the half eaten peach at the now blond Zenitsu who got struck by lightning within the past month. I unsheathed my Katana and sliced the Peach with ease before it could hit Zenitsu. “Always have to have someone looking after you.” He sneered
I glared at him, “Says the one who can’t even master the first form.”
Kaigaku glared right back at me, “Please if someone like Zenitsu can learn it, It’s not worth my time.”
This time I tilted my head, “Is this your way of feeling like you’re stronger than us? Attempting to lower our self esteem so that we don’t succeed? Why are you projecting your insecurities onto us?” Damn me going into a couple of Psychology classes in college.
Kaigaku growled out, “I’m not insecure about my abilities!”
I stepped forward, no idea where the boldness came from, maybe from the fact that I was older and knew his outcome. “Oh? Good, that means you would never fall victim to a Demon then.”
Kaigaku blinked confused. “What the fuck are you talking about Mitsukai?”
I shrugged, “Only an insecure person would fall to the wiles of a demon Right?” I crossed my arms, I was stepping out of line. “Sorry, it’s just…this is all overwhelming, and I’m over thinking too much.” I looked back to Zenitsu and then back to Kaigaku. “I don’t want anything happening to either of you.” That’s right, to twist the entire conversation away from the main idea. Maybe even inspire Kaigaku to not become a Demon later on…I kinda feel bad about using my knowledge to attempt to better the Demon Slayer world while I was at it, but…maybe this was a good thing?
Zenitsu only blinked as Kaigaku felt Fuwafuwa. “Don’t be an idiot. Nothing is going to happen to me. Now Zenitsu on the other hand…”
Zenitsu frowned, “HEY!”
I gave a soft chuckle at that. “Let’s get back to training!”
You know what I have 4 days done for kinktober, I'll work on Day 5 and when I get done with that I'll work a little on a self indulgent Itsukai. But it'll be far from a priority.
Not sure if I'd want to put it online, but time will tell
Or I can dive into it anyway, cause my self restraint is zero
