and while i'm fangirling over a game from 1997 i wanna say I was cruising spotify for JENOVA variants and have found a trank by Ital Tek named "Jenova" that makes me absolutely feral, but has no themetic/musical links that I can trace with the Final Fantasy 7 track... so I'm kinda bewildered at why he chose that title, but I also can't stop listening to this and growling while doing so

and while i'm ranting about Cloud, I can't stop going back to the original JENOVA theme... there are so many great variants, and the remake/rebirth scores do wonderful things with it, but it is still just astounding how hard the original 8'bit/MIDI version is able to go

Mercer does not consider himself to be a hero. It’s something that has come up frequently throughout his life and something he has started vehemently denying. While he is most certainly brave and willing to throw himself in front of nearly any obstacle to protect the people he loves, he’s got a selfish bent. He’s here to protect his people. Not all people. He sometimes has a broad definition of who falls into that category, though. It depends on how mood and recent happenings. It may be only his family or it might include anyone born of the Brume. It’s leaning closer to the second currently, but things may shift.  He also refuses the label because he can be quite violent and is not particularly good with forgiveness or mercy. When someone has done something he believes if unforgiveable he will often mark them as irredeemable and not hesitate to end them. Granted this usually requires someone doing something particularly heinous (or laying a single unwanted hand on someone he cares about).  A note on graceful: Mercer was, before he lost his leg, actually quite graceful on the battlefield. It’s marked out because it’s now something he will never be again. Due to the weight of his tek prosthetic, he’s a bit of a missile turret and has had to adapt his combat movement strategies to adjust for this.  Tagged by: @mimble-sparklepudding​ Thank you!!  Tagging: Anyone who might be interested.
