"Dad! Dad! Is it true hot dogs are made out of horses...? Mom told me that that's why we have to stop eating them..." Yumiko peers up at Shuya curiously, brows furrowed with concern. [OHO YOU KNOW I HAD TO SEND IT IN ONCE I TALKED ABOUT IT LOL]

“Oh for the love of...Yumi-chan, I promise you that hot dogs are not made out of horses. Your mother is just weird and fond of playing little jokes. We wouldn’t eat horse, I promise. But for a while, we’ll hold off on eating them so that we can have something new for dinner, is that a fair trade?”

He already heard Kimi snickering from the doorway of the kitchen. While he picked their daughter up and gave a sigh of mock exasperation. He was tired of hot dogs as well, but this wasn’t the way he wanted to go about it. That being said, he gave a small smirk to Yumiko, before leaning in to whisper in her ear.

“Sometimes, I think you’re the more mature one compared to mom.”

He smiled at the sound of his daughter’s laughter, and felt her arms wrapped around his neck. While he turned to look at his wife leaning against the doorway, a grin on her face.

“I swear, it’s like raising two kids with your antics.”

Stirring she hears their toddlers chipper greeting, Kimi blearily squints at the alarm clock before groaning and rolling over. "What's that line from the Lion King? She's your daughter before the sun is up." she grumbles to Shuya as she feels the bed shift and their daughter wedge herself between them.

“Mm...But I’m pretty sure it was Mufasa who told Sarabi that. But I’ll take care of it.”

He wrapped his arms around their daughter and yawned. She was obviously excited for her first day of school. So much so that she had woken up extra early. Well, early for her two tired parents. He climbed out of bed, letting a small smile come to his face at Yumiko’s excitement.

“You’ve still got about an hour to go. Let me make a quick breakfast for you and then I’ll drive you to school, let your mom sleep for a bit longer.”

Kimi is just casually going to wrap her arms loosely around him and lean against his back, chin resting on his shoulder. "Sooo, if I said I got us plane tickets to go to the USA and visit one of the death museums, would you want to go~?" ya gurl is rich, Shuya.

“Wait, are you serious? I’ve always wanted to go there but I’ve never had the time to book any tickets to that place!”

To say Shuya is excited about the situation would be an understatement. He’s practically vibrating in his seat at the moment. He was always interested in the subject of death, so this would be a rare opportunity for him. Plus, he would get to spend more time with Kimi and possibly teach her more about certain topics or manners of death.

“Have I told you how much I love you? Because you’re the best girlfriend in the world.”

Curled against him as she sits between his legs, gray hues are focused with a concentration rather unusual for her, thumbs tapping away at the controller in her hands. "Man, Shugarbear, you totally suck." Kimi teases as she manages to knock out his character in the game they're both currently absorbed in.

“Don’t be a jerk. I’m not good with fighting games outside of BlazBlue and Guilty Gear. Besides, maybe I’m letting you win because I like you.”

Shuya gave a pout as he sighed. He just wasn’t that good at Street Fighter. Sure, he enjoyed watching it, but he didn’t have any deep strategies for winning or doing good at the game itself. And Kimi was currently enjoying the fact that she was beating him badly. 

“Come on, one more round.”

Shuya and Kimi both started out fooling around with each other, but it got serious between them. Shuya was the first to start feeling something more, and it scared him at first. Needless to say, he worried about Kimi a lot whenever she would drop out of contact.

Both of their cats get along. Though Tama has to get used to Midori at first. Midori on the other hand was happy to have another at around the house.

Both of them watch horror movies without flinching. Usually they’re too busy snarking about the films in question. Mostly because they find the characters to be pretty dumb.

Shuya gives a sigh every time Kimi cracks a dumb pickup line. At this point, he’s used to it. He’s a bit irked that her habits have passed to him though.

shuya, i love that you never let me push you away and that you wouldn't let me run away from you, either. i love that you accepted all of me, bad parts and all, and that it didn't scare you away... i mean, you had every right to leave, but you decided to stick by me for whatever reason that is beyond my comprehension, but i'm thankful that you did. you're my best friend as well as someone i love deeply and letting you into my life is the best decision i ever made~

Shuya gave a soft laugh, he had never imagined being this cheesy with someone before, but then she came along and changed everything for him. She had made him open up, feel things that he didn’t expect to feel for someone else...It scared him at first, he wasn’t supposed to let things get beyond just them fooling around, but he had craved more and more of her presence.

“I’ll admit...I was scared when you stopped talking to me out of the blue a couple of times. I thought I chased you away. But honestly...I’m so happy you stayed with me. I love you Kimi. Nothing’s going to change that.”
