Great Blue Sky

I thought I knew what to expect as I stepped through the wreckage that led to the place my, no our parents called home.  I heard them talk about a blue sky as far as the eye could see, a ball of light that dictated the cycle of a day and the matching silver orb that decorated the night time in phases from dark to full bright.  My aunt’s words, she always had a way with them, mesmerizin’ as she told a tale around the fire.  Even if I barely understood some of what she was talkin’ about.

They had us travel between the worlds at dawn, sayin’ it was easier to adapt to the brightness of the day if it came in stages?  Whatever that meant!  The ones who spent most of their time in Heritage Found would have the most problems.  I forgot that would be me, I spent so much time trainin’ in Solution Nine that I thought I’d have no problem.  Linn didn’t though, he rarely went for a lot of reasons he’d mutter under his breath every time I coaxed him into comin’ with me.  I understand one of it now, hellfire the light hurt as the sky grew brighter.  It was fascinatin’ though!  I already was charmed by the stars, sparkles of light that wasn’t electricity, nothin’ that could harm us.  I remember being told that stars were like fireflies far away in the heavens, but that made no dang sense either.  What the hell is a firefly?  Maybe I’ll get to learn now.   The land before me is the same and not.  I recognize the rocks and the gravel, the general terrain and how it dips and cracks from place to place.  I see the spots where a rroneek would have to be led around so they don’t break an ankle tramplin’ through the place.  The colors though, they are as bright and cheery as Solution Nine!  It’s like the sun is just a big ol lightblub that burns away the storms and lets me see the world properly.  The ground is rust red and still just as dusty.  The plants are still thorny and dense, but they are green and brown and vibrant instead of dead and grey.  It’s so hot too, they warned us to drink plenty o’ water.  And whoo boy, is that a treat!  The water is, I dunno.  Alive maybe?  Pure isn’t right, what the converters made was pure water.  This though, it’s so good. I could drink nothin’ else forever.  Damn, I’m sure there is more I should write.  Never been good at this journalin’ thing, but I need to.  I don’t want to forget and should I disappear and Linn come back he needs to know how I.. we?  Got here.  What happened since it all changed.  Oh, your mom is here too Linn.  She wanted me to travel with her, I should’ave.  Would’ave been easier, but man.  I couldn’t keep it up that I was you with her of all people.  I could tell she was hurt, but she said she understood.  Made us go into town and get somethin’ called a link pearl so we could keep track of eachother.  We can talk over it, so that’s good.  Not sure I’ll ever use it, but we’ve got it if ya know, come back.   

Food here is hella strange too!  I like salads now, they aren’t that paste that you liked to eat back home.  It’s crispy and refreshing and so much flavor, too much sometimes! I’m hopin’ it’s a matter of gettin’ used to it.  And the textures, I had no idea that food could be so well... interestin’!  And strange, I’m not likin’ some of the really chewy stuff.  It just feels weird in my, our, mouth.  Ahh hell, I’ve got no idea if you’ll ever read this Linn.  If you do though I miss ya a whole lot.  Cheers Watt not Linn
