Second Mom Part 2 (Rhea Ripley x Reader One-Shot)

Hey Everyone! ik its been... *checks calendar* awhile since my last upload, I'm not gonna lie to you, i have a VERY hard time trying to translate my ideas to these works. But I REALLY wanted to get back into it so why not start small? Happy Reading and a good morning/night/afternoon to all! Part 1 for anyone who's interested!!

Warnings: None, Just fluff, Also D/n is daughters name

Okay, You were nervous....Nope, Scratch that. You were scared. I mean you only flew half way across the world to Australia. Not just for Rhea's probably biggest show ever performing Infront of her family and people. But also because you were also here to introduce your now Four year old daughter d/n to her family. No pressure.

Rhea of course, was able to sense your nerves as you guys were on the plane ride over. D/n comfortably asleep with her head leaned on her shoulder. She looked over towards you to see you picking at your nails, a nervous habit you had. "Hey?" She whispered towards you has to not disturb the child sleeping on her shoulder.

You turned your head towards her to see the gentle smile on her face, that smile just slightly calming your nerves. "Hey" You whispered back with a slight smile of your own as she grabbed your hand in her own and squeezed reassuringly.

"They are gonna love her, Don't worry." She said as she leaned over slightly to place a kiss on the top of your head, gaining a huge smile out of you in the process. "I know they will, I just can't help but feel nervous you know?" You said as you looked towards your feet in nervousness.

You felt a finger under your chin causing you to lift your head. You had little time to react has you felt a pair of lips on yours for a split second before that feeling was gone. "It'll be alright, Trust me please?" She practically whispered against your lips. You nodded with a soft smile on your face before pecking her lips for quick kiss again.

You leaned back into your seat and closed your eyes and took a deep breath. 'It's gonna be a lonnnnnngggg couple of days' You thought to yourself as you slowly drifted into a nice nap before the inevitable.

~ Time Skip ~

"Hehe, I feel so tall up here!" D/n said/giggled from atop of Rhea's shoulders, You couldn't help but smile at the sight. "Tell me, What do you see up there koala?" Rhea asked while using her favorite nickname for your daughter.

"Ummmmm.... OH! I see Uncle Priest and Dom! HEY GUYS!!" She basically shouted while waving ethuastically. Dom and Priest both looked up from whatever they were looking at on Dom's phone to laugh at the sight and wave back.

"D/n, Inside voice please." You said softly next to Rhea while looking up at your daughter. "Sorry Momma." She said softly leaning on Rhea's head and closing here eyes, still a bit tired. You couldn't help but chuckle and shake your head at the sight and say. "Like mother like daughter." Rhea looked at you out of the corner of her eye. "What was that honey?" "Nothing." You said cheekily.

You guys walked a bit further before you asked. "Where did your sister say she was picking us up at?" "Should be right over he- oh I see her." You turned your head slightly to see a woman who looks just like Rhea but with blonde hair lookign around. "HEY! SIS!" Rhea shouts while waving a hand.

You see her eyes snap in your direction before a big smile comes across her face as you guys walk up to her. You gently reach up to take d/n off of Rhea's shoulders so she can greet her sister properly. D/n of course whines at not being so high up anymore.

"Hey sis, how you been?" Rhea's sister asks as she gives her big hug, Rhea instantly giving her one of her own. "I've been great, How abou you, mom and dad?" She asks while pulling back to look at her sister. "They've been great, looking forward to seeing you and meeting the Mrs." She said while looking torwards you with d/n in your arms with a smile.

You smile back and reach a free hand out. "Nice to meet you, I'm Y/n." She shakes your hand enthusiastically. "Oh I know, Rhea never shuts up about you." She laughs while pulling her hand away only for Rhea to push her shoulder playfully. "Oh piss off you-" "Language!" You quickly reprimand Rhea nudging your head towards d/n.

"Sorry love." She quickly apologized before coming over to put her arm around you and kiss the top of d/n's head. Her sister coming over to introduce herself to d/n who was currently trying to hide by burying her head in your shoulder. "Hi sweetie, It's nice to meet you." She said softly to her, d/n looking at her for a split second before hiding back into your shoulder.

"Sorry she's a bit shy around new people." You said to her before she gave you a big smile. "It's alright, that's understandable." She said before hearing a quiet voice. "So your Mommy's sister?" D/n asks while giving her a big puppy eyed look. "Yep, sure am kiddo." She said with a soft smile on her face. "So that make you my aunt?" D/n looks towards you as to make her logic checks out, which you couldn't help but laugh at.

"Yes honey, she's your aunt." D/n gets a big smile on her face and a glint in her eye as she quietly asks to be put down. As soon as you put her down she immediately runs over to Rhea's sister and hugs her legs tightly. "Hi auntie." She says as she looks up at her to which she immediately gets picked up into her aunts arms. "Good to meet you too possum."

You lean into Rhea at the sight as all your worries seem to wash away just like that. "Hope she'll be like that around your parent's." You say quietly as you look up towards Rhea who is still looking at her sister with her daughter in her arms with a look of pure happiness. "Oh she will." She said confidently before kissing your temple as you guys walk out towards her sisters car. You now know, you were worrying for no reason.

Rambles: I feel like Dust would be pretty horrible at taking care of himself- and that seems to be the general consensus of the fandom, but I think he'd also purposely dehydrate himself so he doesn't cry. Why? A) if he finally understands his delusional killing wasn't actually helping he'd probably think he deserves to drink water/cry and/or B) if he's still in the delusion. He doesn't want the others to think he's weak/ doesn't want to admit he DOES feel bad about everything, instead he wants people think he's fine and doesn't feel anything (kind of like Killer, in a way) . And I feel like he'd cry if he started drinking water- because if you're dehydrated enough you can't cry, but once you start drinking enough water it'll start flooding out and your body will try to regulate your stress with excessive crying. Another thing this does is make Dust and Killer a better foil to each other. I personally think they'd make great foils to each other! And I just haven't seen anyone do that (me personally I have not seen it- please don't cancel me..). I'm planning to make another minicomic explaining/showing why they'd be great foils to each other, but the main reason is because they share almost identical lives, but they see both the player and their actions very differently. I also generally feel like he's a smoker- I can't explain why, but it matches his constant dusty appearance, so instead of it just being dust (because let's be real- after a couple washes in the laundromat there wouldn't be any more dust since Nightmare's against killing and most people assume Dust's world is completely abandoned by the player/destroyed) it's also smoke ash. And it would help him seem less emotional. Hence, why I gave him some wobbly text, heavy smokers tend to have a more gravely/scratchy voice because smoking damages your vocal chords. PSA TO NOT SMOKE!

Another thing about Dust's world. I don't really get why people think it gets destroyed? Maybe it's somewhere in the cannon askblog that I haven't seen yet, but from what I know I don't think it makes sense- since it kinda seems like the human just gave up because he became too hard to beat, so he's just been waiting ever since. And it'd make more sense if he kept visiting every once in awhile to see if the human came back to reset the world or to have one last fight- because if such a goal driven person like him is suddenly stripped of the ability to fulfill the goal after so much sacrifice there would be no point to life anymore unless a new goal is reinstated to him. That's where I personally believe Nightmare would come in and tell Dust about the emotion balance that needs to occur for the best life for all au's (which is true, since he can only speak the truth) to which then he'd ask Dust to keep being a 'hero' in a new way- by helping him spread negativity. Of course, he'd keep the detail that he's actually way more powerful then Dream out of his explanation.

As for why I chose to have Nightmare transform into Toriel second/last instead of Papyrus- I think Dust would be a little more numb to Papyrus affecting him. While yes, that's what drove him over the edge and manifested into his main hallucination- he's been living with phantom papyrus for much longer and would likely have grown less susceptible to Papyri's (is that the plural form?-) suggestions/words. So, the second closest to Sans would be Toriel, firstly because in Undertale he spends the majority of the true ending dialogue with her as they playfully text each other. The other reason, the main one, is because the opening for the cannon (and I believe first?) dusttale fanfic starts with them talking to each other (unless I translated it horribly wrong :skull: .. i hope not).

Some other hc's I put in here is Nightmare knowing Dust has the phantom papyrus hallucination- that seems to be a general thing for most people in the fandom though. Building on that- because he knows he'd come to the same conclusion I did in the last paragraph. I also see a lot of people make Nightmare really nice????? I don't think he would be, personally. He wants to make people as miserable as possible to feed himself- he's also selfish (I mean he's as jaded as they come and jaded people are usually pretty self serving) and would probably treat everyone shitty enough that they feel annoyed, but well enough that they give him what he wants. You may argue that him scaring Dust into drinking water is tough love, but I think he'd do it mostly because he needs his subordinates to be able to do his work- and if they're dehydrated, they're not going to be able to do it. On a much sweeter hc, I think Horror would treat Dust like a younger version of himself (I mean he is in a physical sense- and also Dust is more Undertale-cannon adjacent then the other sans' in the gang in both looks and dialect) which would be somewhat brotherly, so he'd try to give him some water bottles if he notices Dust's feelin a little dizzy or if he's just passed out. And other sweet and cute stuff that Dust would greatly appreciate. Transcript: Horror: "ya passed out again. how bout some water so we don't dew that again?" Dust: "thanks, pal" H: "nah, no prob."

wang yi goes meta and takes over the narrative

hi yes it's been awhile since i've posted one of these chapter update summaries but it was too fluffy (and yandere? lol) for me to resist this week. been translating the manhua text in gdocs since like ch89 so yeah ping me if you ever want links

ch 102: don't understand

(mild warnings ahead for yandere tendencies)

so we start the chapter with a recap from the last one where X kissed wang yi and said he is very happy to take back his other 2 selves if they're bothering him

long story short: qin xian is split into multiple selves between worlds, apparently, but they're all one soul despite being broken up

wang yi's like "uhhh it's fine" but the other 2 qin xians get jealous until slime QX zaps them away (convenient, that)

they come to terms about qin xian's multiple selves and X asks to put a tracker in wang yi's body so in the future he can find him (even if they end up in other worlds i guess?) wang yi's like wait what but X is already on it and boom, offscreen kiss (because the censors would kill it otherwise alas)

this is literally the original manhua panel and the kind of picture that practically begs an artist to hurry up and draw the other half (so where are you artists???)

anyways wang yi swallows a portion of X and gets a weird flashback to his System days where original!Qin Xian confessed his love and asked him to stay, but the memory's too fuzzy for him to process it

ofc he gets mad at the unintended ingestion (though mostly for health reasons) but X reassures him it's fine and the piece of slime he ate will stay..inert in his body.

wang yi gives up and goes sigh well whatever, then asks X why he likes him anyways when he already has memories of his jerkass self in the other worlds. X says it's probably fate tying them together, but WY scoffs at that and says there's gotta be an actual reason for this kinda stuff. (he also tells X to stop being a hopeless romantic when he thinks about stuff like this)

in the end he caves and says he'll fulfill the promise (to stay with Qin Xian/X for the rest of his life) if X still wants to hang around, which ofc makes X amused because he's just been a total obsessive weirdo (and knows it too). he asks if wang yi can still accept him after experiencing his twisted form of love

to which wang yi replies, he doesn't get what affection even is, so really what he's doing is trying to work with X and play along as best as he can. if they're both clear on that, they can give this relationship a try.

and it ends with both of them laughing at themselves for being freaks together.

wang yi asks how he's been (or rather, his other selves AKA the other Qin Xians who had to live on after wang yi left their respective worlds)

X mentions that it was agonizing and lonely, but if he reasons that all the waiting was to wait until he met wang yi again, then it's more sweet than bitter in the end.

the next day, the research lab welcomes a newly hired assistant for dr. wang: X in a modified human appearance complete with shoujo sparkles~

to pull off the ruse, X left part of his body in slime mode behind so he could play both roles at the same time

Sao Ling is naturally shocked, saying they're going off-plot, but WY placates him by saying it'll make finishing the novel easier when the heroine has to escape with the mermaid at the end (because it's a complicated task to pull off so she could use "all the help she can get")

he sweetens the deal by adding that this is a great way for them to earn points from the System, leading S-0 to realize WY's ultimate plan: shipping.

(but is he shipping heroine x mermaid or crazy scientist x lab assistant? i guess we find out next week...)

Thoughts on Bottero's book Religion in Ancient Mesopotamia. Been mulling about this after looking for some passages past few days.

I mentioned "awhile" back that I absolutely hated that he just skips over the part of Mesopotamian history I "take from." And now that I'm reading bits again it feels like he completely denies Sumerian agency in favor of Semitic influence (mainly Akkadian). Like he kind of just skips the concept of a distinct Sumerian religion and religiosity because Sumer came under Akkadian rule. We don't have evidence of a mass Semitic migration into "Sumer" just a government leadership. He also kinda skips the 3rd millennium all together.

He claims Mesopotamian religion lacked any form of religious mysticism and a desire to be close to the Gods. He uses the fact that there are barely any cuneiform tablets that utilize the word "love" in that way in reference to the Gods But apparently there are at least half a million excavated tablets and 90% of them remained untranslated— so how is something missing (like the word love) in the cuneiform translated corpus proper proof of anything? Also mysticism or mystery based practices often aren't recorded. Especially if mystic texts were not used by scribal students there may not be enough copies to have survived or only one copy among half a million untranslated ones.

Now I was thinking this was bias on my part but he seems to be the only Assyriologist I've seen be so dismissive of Sumerian culture as a separate thing from Semitic culture that can be studied and basically skip the third millennium.

But what really caught my mind today was as I've been researching recently Black, Jacobsen, Wiggermann and even Kramer to a lesser degree get cited enough by other Assyriologists that I notice it but I don't actually see Bottero a lot or at least I don't notice it (I may now that I am looking for it).

I'll probably still read his book but the dismissiveness of Sumerians and lack of exploration of the 3rd millennium leaves me unenthusiastic about it so it'll probably stay towards the bottom of the Mesopotamian pile of reading.

This is my first time requesting anything so I hope this makes sense. Can you make a oneshot or headcanons of the Sinclair brothers meeting someone who is deaf? Like y/n is deaf and their car breaks down nearby and they need help. I’m curious to see what the brother’s reactions would be to someone who is deaf. Especially Vincent since he’s mute. ✌️

Bo Sinclair

Bo's used to sign language and you're no exception. Though he's a bit surprised, only person he knew to really use it was Vincent

He was the one to find you while he was out scouting for potential victims. He found you with your car broken down and decided to help

He's not sure why. You were just different. That's all, swear! (Vince and Lester know he thought you were drop dead gorgeous when he saw you)

Where you differ from Vince and what does take adjusting for him is that he can talk to Vincent and he'll sign. He's not used to not being able to talk to you at all

Sometimes he'll be talking to you and you'll just be sitting there and he'll facepalm when he remembers you can't hear him

He'll play his music in the garage louder so you can feel the vibrations

If you can read lips, it'll come in handy sometimes when he forgets you can't hear him. Regardless, he starts making effort to signing for you when he talks and bitches at Lester to do the same.

Vincent Sinclair

He meets you after Bo brings you into town after your car breaks down. At first he's hesitant to meet you at all, assuming you'll be the next victim, but once he sees you he's gone for

Owes Bo so many favors for not killing you. He's sort of "responsible" for you because Bo's certainly not going to be

He's the easiest to talk to honestly. He's not able to speak normally so he's at ease talking to you

Doesn't really play loud music but will let you sit against his chest and feel him hum

Vincent happily translates his brothers conversations for you so you can keep up with what they say!

He gets insanely protective of you and has snapped at Bo and Lester for not signing when talking to you. They can sign, they should!

Lets you borrow his walkman and headphones to enjoy music if you want to. He's got mixtapes he makes for you even though he knows you can't hear them

Lester Sinclair

Lester is the first to find you on the side of the road. He's a bit surprised to see you using sign but he recovers quick! Growing up with Vincent made it easier to chat

He's a bit rusty but he's able to hold conversation. Once he gets chatting, muscle memory takes over

Will actually keep you secret from Bo and Vincent for awhile, citing the car he needs fixing as one of his new ones. Usually the twins strip cars for parts but Bo's willing to get the car fixed

If you decide to stay with Lester though, he loves having you around the house. He lives away from them so you'd be safe!

Vincent still enjoys talking to you and you probably get along best with him after Lester! Bo's just... reserved.

Lester likes to just sit in silence with you out in the forest surrounding his house. Loves taking walks with you and Jonesy while holding hands

Brings you little gifts he finds or makes! Never tells you they're from dead victims of the twins, that feels weird to him. He tries to keep you out of the loop as long as he can though!

The unpromising sounds of your engine sputtering did not fill you with confidence. But breaking down in the middle of nowhere hadn't been on your list for your trip out of the city! You were trying to just get out of town for a few days, see some new sights, not get stranded. The sounds of incoming cars made you anxious though. You couldn't exactly move your car in this state and if people started yelling at you to move your car...

The two trucks seemed in varying states. One was a teal color and dirtier while the other was a sleek navy color with a broken headlight. Odd.

Stepping out of the truck closest to you, the navy one, was definitely a mechanic. The overalls and grease stains confirmed as much. You could tell he was speaking to you but you struggled to read his lips. "Sorry, do you know sign?" You tried, preparing for the worst.

Blinking for a moment, you braced yourself to need to get a paper and pencil for him before he signed back. "Sure darling, what's got you stuck out here?"

You felt the smile on your face as you sighed internally, explaining to him how your car had broken down and you couldn't get it towed. Hard to call a tow truck when you can't hear and all. The man introduced himself as Bo, mentioning his brothers Vincent and Lester were still in the trucks but he could give a look under your hood. He worked as a mechanic, he could give it a shot.

He gave you a wink when he mentioned his brother being mute. You weren't sure what he meant to imply until you felt a gentle tug on your sleeve and turned to see a man in a mask with long hair staring down at you. As soon as he introduced himself as Vincent, you two were signing a mile a minute to each other, finally able to have conversation with someone fluent.

A younger, scruffier looking man made his way around the trucks, grinning at you. He spoke before going quiet, looking over at Vincent who was telling him to sign for you. The man Lester was a bit... rusty. You tried not to laugh when he messed up on some words but he was clearly trying, you could appreciate that at least.

Bo stepped back into your line of sight after a moment, informing you that your fan belt had snapped but he'd have a spare back at the gas station. Lester offered to give you a ride to Ambrose, their little hometown.

How could you refuse?

So, I have a question about this enlistment rule? How will it affect the group and it won't just affect SHINee or people their age, right? What do we know about it? Has SM or the boys said anything about their enlist? Because people are freaking out and I'm trying to stay calm because we don't know much yet and I thought that we knew they were gonna start to enlist soon anyway? Some people also think that SM is doing a lot of concerts for SW5 because it'll be their last tour. What do you think?

i figured i’d get a message about this after turning anon back on, and i know that a lot of people (not just shawols) are curious and worried so i’m gonna be as direct and factual with this response as possible.

firstly: i know that enlistment is a topic that makes a lot of people anxious and upset but it’s not really an avoidable one. not just for shinee, but all korean born idols in the country. it’s been like this their entire lives - both for idols and non-idols. they’ve known it was going to happen for… well, forever, and there’s no doubt that they’ve come to terms with that. for fans specifically: the best of advice that i can give in regards to “dealing” with it is taking it as comes and, you know, savoring all moments that we have left with shinee (and this also goes for other groups like 2pm, bts, exo, infinte, etc.). now, on to the details:

it’s not entirely clear at this point. the information released to the media has been … pretty vague so far, in my opinion. but @svtnanas on twitter did a pretty good job at translating what we know earlier so, if you click on their un (the linked) you can read up on the facts along with some speculative answers that they gave to curious followers. 

what does this mean for shinee? well, the same thing that it means for all other men in korea: they have to enlist sooner or later. it’s not something that’s easy or realistic to avoid, and it goes by quicker than you think it would when it actually happens. (i say this as a fan of tvxq but obviously their enlistment was unique to how most groups decide to go about it.) 

has sm or the members said anything about enlisting? not specifically, no. minho mentioned in an interview late last year that onew would be enlisting in the future but we all knew that already. jonghyun also mentioned enlistment once in 2015 but it was simply a comment in passing. otherwise, nothing has been said. not by sm or not by shinee. nothing direct, nothing in the form of a hint, nothing ominous. everything that we have to go on at this point are based around rumors and speculation. 

is this “big” new change going to affect them? possibly but if it affects them it’d affect everyone else. it’s not just them. as said above: the information we have right now is really vague and nothing has changed yet so until we begin to see blatant changes or hoards of people enlisting at once that’s all we’ve got. do i think that’ll happen? no. we won’t see people disappearing. it doesn’t work like that especially when you take big companies (like sm) into account. sm has government connections. all big companies do and there’s no doubt that they can make deals and pull strings behind the scenes in order to accommodate to them / the money waiting to be made for the company. is that shady? of course, but all businesses are shady. 

do i think that this will mean sooner enlistment for the members? who knows. honestly i think the only big change we’d see in the plans already made (which, to point out, we don’t know any of but there’s no doubt that sm and shinee haven’t discussed things in the past already) may involve how and when key, minho and taemin go about their enlisting and, even then, it’s hard to say because people can get called on to enlist at any time. we’ve all known for awhile now that onew and jonghyun are likely going to enlist in 2018 / 2019 so… that probably isn’t going to change. i also doubt that the extra concerts in swc5 have anything to do with this new “rule”. concerts are scheduled ahead of time. if the decision to make more stops is related to enlistment then it means that that was always the plan. this “rule” was announced last week. concerts aren’t planned overnight. 

a bit of a ramble but i wanted to get my thoughts out there and, as said above, try to be as straight about it as possible. for now: we know nothing related to shinee’s future enlistment plans. i can’t tell anyone to stop being anxious or to feel a certain way about it but i can tell you that there’s nothing confirmed. i wouldn’t lie to the followers. if something was released to the media i’d inform you the second that it was (and will in the future when it is). so, all i can suggest now is to keep on following and enjoying shinee as you normally do! have fun with it! we still have a little bit of time (and, if they’re having a comeback later this year along with something for their anni, possibly two more korean comebacks from them - and that’s not including solo releases, releases in japan, etc.).

My dark angel variant could tell you how frustrating her master is to deal with....although her version is probably the most benevolent and reasonable version to interact with honestly. Anyway I was afraid it was Chuck... very unreasonable asshole"

One of the pages she was looking at translated into English and took the form a wiki for Supernatural. She briefly skims the text "Yeah, you are all off script if Jack is still alive and...yeah your entire cast is different too... Then again these are older drafts I'm looking at right now. Heh, seems everything is repeating itself..." She closes her book "Okay... This is a difficult case, given how involved he is and his temper. Also if I run into his sister, that's going to be a worse disaster. If I kill light, I'm going to have to kill darkness too which will lead to more discord in the multiverse with adjacent universes. So absolute death is out of the question, but I could just injure them really badly instead... Might not fix anything but it'll be stress relieving."

She starts brainstorming "Well, I can sustain your universe for awhile until he cools off, or even downright rewrite a few things to get his attention. If only we could convince him to stay hands-off and let things play out first before hastily erasing. Convince him that the 'story' would be more interesting that way and offer new developments.... Hmm almost tempting to take it over myself..." She briefly wondered if Chuck was even aware of her. "I find it weird though that he just threw you out rather than..."
