You'd think this would have been gone in 2024 but sadly we still have people who refuse to acknowledge and understand the complexity of her character :(( I agree, it's all the internalized misogyny and her "getting in the way of their ships" whew. And I think.. also that debut chapter which I feel was a bit too extreme/ooc for her introduction and left a bad impression on many fans. ;;

Not to be that person but it really gets me thinking that Soma and Lizzie share a lot of personality traits yet Soma has always been beloved by the fandom for those traits while Lizzie has always been hated on for them.

#It must be due to the series being knew and Yana coming from the yaoi/bl narratives where the female character is written as obstacle #or comic relief but sometimes i feel like her introduction shouldn't have been too extreme #it does the job of showing her pushy attitude #and o!ciel not being thrilled of the engagement at that time #and also the importance of the Phantomhive ring but maybee it could have been toned down a bit? or done differently #since then though we've seen how they both grew as characters which is nice but i understand why some people didn't like it #it's just sad that there are still those who just stop at that chapter and dismiss lizzy's growth throughout the series #and instead demonize every action she makes?? like wtf this girl may not be perfect but the rest of the characters have done worse #and yet she is the one being thrown with so much hate you'd think she was the mastermind behind the killing of the phantomhives jeez #elizabeth midford deserves way more respect and love than this y'all #elizabeth midford #ೀ ˚ of ribbons and swords; dance of the graceful knight
