you and i | peter maximoff
・❥・ summary: peter loves his daughter very much and wants another one ・❥・word count: 1.9k ・❥・warnings: 18+ smut, nsfw. unprotected p in v. swearing. female reader. ・❥・ authors note: we all love dilf!peter so i tried. the smut is badly written pls be gentle im still trying to get more confident writing it. also i went with katya for the name bc always headcanon his family is from europe/sokovia.
Never in a million years did Peter think he’d ever settle down. He’d always thought of himself as a loner – someone who would be happy by himself for the rest of his life and he had no problem with that. Commitment had always been something that he feared. Maybe it was something to do with his dad leaving his mom before he was even born. He’d never had a good father figure to look up to when it came to… well, anything. All the people around him had severely unhealthy relationships so he never wanted to be a part of one himself. Peter would much rather hook up than settling down and being unhappy with someone. As much as there was some part of him that idolised his father, he never wanted to be like him. Being a let down was one of Peter’s worst fears. All he wanted to do was make sure his mom and sisters were taken care of. If he was doing that then he was doing something right. He didn’t need a relationship or another person to make him happy.
That was until he met you.
It had been a chance encounter at the arcade. You had been occupying his favourite Donkey Kong machine. There were others but that one was his. So, annoyed, he leaned against one of the other machines with arms across his chest obnoxiously blowing a bubble with his gum. When you finally did step away, he ran over quicker than you could even say Donley Kong to get his machine back letting out a loud ‘what the fuck’ when he saw that you’d beat his high score. Peter had tried for the whole day to get his name back at the top but it was no use. As you tried walking out of the arcade, he had caught up to you bombarding you with questions about how you'd done it and if you’d cheated. All you’d done was smile and tell him it was a secret. That was enough to keep him hooked. Day after day the two of you would meet at the arcade. Peter would find himself seeking you out. When he’d started to get little heart flutters every time you smiled at him or any time you’d beat him at a game, he freaked out. Feelings like that weren’t something he was used to. In fact, he’d never had feelings quite like it before. It was all new to him.
Over time he had come to accept that you had won his heart. Somehow, someway you had wormed your way in there and he couldn’t get enough of you. All he wanted to do was spend every second with you. The relationship had blossomed so naturally – it all came so easy to him. Being with you felt like heaven, it made him the happiest he’d ever felt in his life. He had convinced himself so much that he didn’t need anyone but himself but he did. He needed you and he wouldn’t live the rest of his life without you. So, he had proposed at the arcade where the two of you had first met. It wasn’t overly romantic but it was Peter coded and that was more than you could’ve asked for.
Now, two years on, the two of you were married with a two year old daughter. Peter had taken to being a dad like it was the easiest thing in the world. He was so fun and caring. There wasn’t anything he’d do for his little girl. Katya was his whole world.
“Oh sh-” Peter instantly stopped knowing if you heard him swearing in front of your kid, you’d kick his ass. “...shizzle.” As he’d walked into the room, he’d noticed that Katya had drawn all over the wall with crayon.
To be fair, that had been his fault. You’d told him before you left for work to put the crayons out of reach because Katya was in her ‘destruction’ era and wanted to draw on any and every surface she could get her hands on. In true Peter fashion, though, he’d been distracted. The newest Pac Man game had his attention. He just had to beat it before you did because - he’d never admit this - you were better than him. It was one of the reasons he’d fallen in love with you in the first place.
But, right now, he had to clean this shit off the walls before you got home and gave him the scolding of a lifetime. “Alright, baby girl, come here.”
Katya grinned instantly dropping the crayons as Peter crouched down in front of her. With wobbly legs, she got to her feet and slowly toddled into his arms. He picked her up, holding her tight to him. Her little smile was enough to almost make him put her back down and let her carry on showing her artistic skills on every wall in the house.
“You’re gonna get me in sooooo much trouble, Kitty Kat,” he booped her little nose to which she grabbed his finger between her small ones. It was enough to melt anyone’s heart. He placed her in her crib with promises of snacks once he’d got the walls all cleaned up.
It was a few hours later when you got back home. The house was oddly quiet. Usually you’d come home to the sounds of Peter chasing Katya around the house or him teaching her naughty words that he definitely shouldn’t be teaching her but there was nothing. That made you slightly worried. Your footsteps on the wooden floors echoed off the walls as you peeped into your daughter's room but she was fast asleep in her crib. So, where was Peter?
When you walked into your bedroom, you spotted him easily. His mess of silver hair could be spotted a mile away. He was sprawled out on the bed, his face buried in the pillows, limbs spread out all over the place. It brought a smile to your face. Careful not to wake him, you sat on the edge of the bed, running your fingers gently through his hair.
“Feels good,” he mumbled sleepily into the pillows. Sometimes you forgot how much of a light sleeper he was.
“Hey sleepy head,” you greeted him, kicking your shoes off to lay on the bed beside him. Peter’s head turned slightly to see you. His tired eyes meeting yours, sending a jolt of electricity through your body. Even now years later, he was still the most handsome man you’d ever laid eyes on. His dark brown eyes, his perfect nose and the stubble that adorned his face was enough to make any person melt. It was still mind blowing that this man was yours.
“Your daughter is a menace,” he wrapped his arms around you, rolling over to pull you onto his chest.
“She gets that from you.”
“Nuh-uh, you.”
“Definitely you. You’ve been a menace since the day I met you.” Your lips brushed against his.
“You love me anyway,” he kissed you, lips moving together slowly. “We should have another one.”
With a furrowed brow, you pulled away to look at him. “Another…?”
“Kid, babe. Baby. Y’know, that little human we have in the other room? Yeah, we should make another one of them.” His eyes were hopeful, almost pleading.
“You’re serious?”
“Yeah! I mean, I’m fuckin’ exhausted and sometimes this whole parenting thing is real hard but… it’s worth it. Having a family with you, being a dad… it’s everything I never knew I wanted. You make me want this, babe. So, why not have another one? Kat’s old enough now for us to bring another one into the fray.”
It was another big step for the two of you. Could you really handle two children? You were always the most practical one out of you and Peter. He mostly followed his heart while you followed your brain. It was probably one of the reasons why you were so perfect for each other. It was the look in Peter’s eyes that really sealed the deal. He wanted this. He really, really did. Watching him be a dad, the way he loved your daughter — it was everything you had ever wanted.
“Okay,” you cupped his cheek, the pad of your thumb stroking against his soft skin. “Let’s have another little Maximoff.”
Peter didn’t say another word. Instead, he flipped you over so you were on your back, lips lazily attaching to yours. It took him no time at all to have your dress off and tossed to the floor, his own shirt and sweatpants following. His hips lazily, slowly grinded against yours, the feeling of his growing bulge rubbing against your core. Peter could already tell how turned on you were by the small gasps that left your lips, the way your nails were digging into his sides as you held on to him. He moved his way down your body, lips leaving a trail of wet kisses down your neck and between the valley of your breasts. Hands snaked behind your back to unclasp your bra.
“Want you so bad,” he mumbled against your stomach as he trailed lower down your body. Your panties were off in one swift movement. When Peter got impatient his powers always came into play. One of his long fingers trailed up your slit, your arousal coating his finger. That was apparently all the restraint he had because before you knew it, his boxers were off and the head of his cock was prodding at your entrance.
“Peter, please,” you pleaded with him, bucking your hips against his erection. He didn’t need telling twice as he slowly pushed into you. His eyes almost rolled back at the feeling of your warm walls squeezing around him. He buried his head in the crook of your neck, his hand lacing your fingers together as he slowly thrust into you. Going slow was never Peter’s forte but right now, he was too tired to care. This was gentle and it was perfect.
Your free hand tangled in his hair, lightly tugging on the strands as he tortured you with his slow, lazy pace. He was tired, exhausted but he wanted nothing more than to put a baby inside you and what better time was there to start than the present. He brought his forehead to rest against yours, your breathy moans mingling with his.
“I love you,” he whispered against your lips. His thrusts losing rhythm as he felt his release closing in. He sped up and you took this as your opportunity to wrap your legs around him. Peter groaned, angling his hips to hit deeper.
It only took a few more shallow thrusts before he stilled, his hands gripping your hips tightly as he came inside you. The sounds leaving his lips enough to trigger your own, a cry of his name leaving you as your walls clamped down on him.
Peter collapsed on top of you in a heap of sweaty, heavy breaths. His lips pressing light kisses against your neck as you both came down from your shared high. “Think we made a baby yet?”
It took you a minute to register what he said. You laughed breathlessly, your hand lightly running along his back. “Dunno, might have to keep at it just to really make sure.”
Peter grinned. Even in his completely exhausted state, he felt like the happiest man on the planet because he had everything anyone could ever ask for, something he’d always wanted — a loving family.

cherry def wears cherry chapstick and peter loves it so it’s her cheat code to get him to initiate kisses bc she’s too scared to🥹
🥹🥹🥹 wait stop this is so cute cause it's so true
wanting to kiss peter so bad you're itchy, but there's no way you're going to outwardly ask, so you pull out your chapstick and swipe it over your bottom lip.
peter smells it before he sees it, several small sniffs before a deep inhale. 'cherry.' it works, you get comfortable on his pillows, you're expecting a little more than a kiss.
'yes?' there's a tilt, you're asking why he's not over you yet. he lets out a small laugh, 'no, i meant i smell cherries, i wasn't talking to you.' you grumble, you're not getting what you want.
peter catches on, his back hits the bed. 'i didn't mean it like that, you know i love talking to you.' your thumb runs over his bracelet, it's a beaded one, matching his best friend's.
'is that all you love doing with me?' peter pretends to think about it, drawing out a long 'hmm,' before shaking his head. 'no, i really love something else we do together. wanna guess?'
your mind starts racing, there's so many things. 'making breakfast! no, wait, brushing our teeth together! ooh, no, wait is it the museum? we've been there like, a hundred times but if you love it that much we can go more.'
'we went twice, but okay. i do love doing those things with you, but it's not what i'm thinking of miss. cherry chapstick.'
you think you’re getting what you wanted, so why are you ducking down to hide your face from him? 'do you mean you like giving me kisses?'
'baby, i love giving you kisses. i'd give you a hundred every minute if i could.' he does too much, he always does too much. your cheeks feel hot, it amplifies when he asks if you want one.
'yes, please.' it's a bruising kiss, he's overly affectionate, following up with a series of pecks. you don't miss out on how lucky you are to have picked peter, he's a good person.
'you'd be a good boyfriend, you know.' your kisses stop, you didn't mean to throw him off. you know he won't be your boyfriend, you hope he didn't take it that way. you're not his type, there's no way you are.
peter can have his pick of the litter and a virgin wouldn't be his first pick. he's just doing you a favor. you'll part ways amicably once you have sex, you'll find someone eventually and peter would hopefully settle down.
'not with me or anything, i just meant that you seem more like a relationship sort of guy. you're good to me so you'd be a good boyfriend, so if you doubt yourself, you shouldn't.'
you hope you'll land someone as gentle as peter down the line. you can't read his face for a second, but then he's kissing you again, the way he's doing it has butterflies swirling in your stomach, you're still trying to get used to the feeling.
'yeah,' two kisses. 'that's what i'm aiming for.'
you lose count, peter wasn't lying about a hundred in a minute.

i found this blog by accident (i think the tumblr recommendations code or whatever figured out i have a polls addiction) and have had zero interest and experience in this topic but now. now i am so here. but i was wondering where i could go to watch movies with all these actors?? like i’m sure prime video or smthg might have a few classics hanging around but is there a service/website (of any legality) that specialises in vintage films and stuff? or is it really just physical media to get a lot of them? sry if this throws off your askbox, i didn’t know where else to ask! tyia <3
Hi!! I love this ask. Thanks for being here!
I don't know of any service that specializes in old movies, though HBO had a deal with TCM for a while that meant they had several classics on Max—I don't know if that's still a thing. In the meantime, though, the following websites all have "classic" channels that will be filled with great vintage movies to try:
Tubi—free streaming service that includes:
The Manchurian Candidate (Frank Sinatra, James Edwards)
The Philadelphia Story (James Stewart, Cary Grant)
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Dick Van Dyke)
On The Town (Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra)
House on Haunted Hill (Vincent Price)
The Adventures of Robin Hood (Errol Flynn, Basil Rathbone)
A Streetcar Named Desire (Marlon Brando)
The Maltese Falcon (Humphrey Bogart)
Hoopla—free through many libraries:
The Court Jester (Danny Kaye, Basil Rathbone)
War and Peace (Jeremy Brett)
Barefoot in the Park (Robert Redford)
Cabin in the Sky (Rex Ingram)
Wings (Gary Cooper)
Kanopy—free through many libraries:
The General (Buster Keaton)
Flower Drum Song (James Shigeta)
Roman Holiday (Gregory Peck)
Seven Samurai (Toshiro Mifune)
His Girl Friday (Cary Grant)
Wuthering Heights (Laurence Olivier)
Sabrina (Humphrey Bogart)
Paris Blues (Sidney Poitier, Paul Newman)
Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (Conrad Veidt)
Youtube also has TONS of movies that have slipped through copyright or "accidentally" ended up there:
Charade (Cary Grant)
The Gay Divorcee (Fred Astaire)
Lying Lips (Carman Newsome, Robert Earl Jones, Oscar Micheaux)
Stormy Weather (Harold Nicholas)
Rebecca (Laurence Olivier)
The Cheat (Sessue Hayakawa)
The Lady Vanishes (Michael Redgrave)
Jungle Book (Sabu Dastagir)
To Sir, With Love (Sidney Poitier)
It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (Peter Falk)
What a Way to Go! (Dick Van Dyke, Gene Kelly, Paul Newman)
And of course there are methods of other legality if you want to go searching for titles by hand :)
I haven't seen all of the movies I list here—this is just a sampling of some famous ones, and a few of my secret faves—so be careful if you have trigger warnings and things. Hope you find some great movies!
#:D#i went a bit insane there. but you see. hot men!#if i had to pick one i'd say tubi has the best rotating selection?#anyway good luck anon!#asks#hotvintagethoughts

Love, Actually
„So… which of love stories do you like best?” Evan asks, his chin resting on his palm which is lying on Tommy’s chest.
They’ve slid down on Tommy’s big couch as the credits started rolling. During the film, they’ve sat side by side, with Tommy having one arm slung around Evan’s shoulders most of the time, kissing occasionally.
“Hm,” Tommy hums, “I have an answer, but… you go first, if you don’t mind.”
Evan lets out a soft laugh, scrunching up his face a little as he ponders. “Uh— I can tell you which one I don’t like.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Evan replies, lifting his head a little higher. “The one with… Uh, what was her name? Keira Knightley.”
“Juliet and Peter.”
“And… Mark, was it?”
Tommy nods, shifting just ever so slightly to the side so Evan can rest most of his weight on the leg that’s not wedged between Tommy’s. Not that Tommy minds, per se, but they’re trying to have a conversation here.
“Yeah, so I didn’t really like that one.”
“Why not?” Tommy asks, wondering if Evan’s opinion is similar to his own.
“Well, she— I wouldn’t say she cheated, per se, but she kissed another guy, even if just as a sort of thank you. And he? He broke every— Every ‘bro-code’ there is. That was just… That’s like if— uh, if we got married and Eddie came by to tell you you’re perfect to him, and then you’d kiss him and—”
“Oh, so I’m Keira Knightley in this scenario?” Tommy asks, amused but also cringing ever so slightly at the mental image of Eddie in front of his house, holding up hand-written signs with a declaration of unrequited love. He deliberately doesn’t let his thoughts dwell on the premise of the hypothetical scenario, even if a part of him wants to. It’s much too early for that.
“I mean… well, yeah. I mean you and Eddie are friends too, so it doesn’t exactly fit. But Mark was supposed to be Peter’s best friend. So yeah, that’s just… it’s kinda—”
“Icky?”
Evan huffs out a chuckle. “Yeah.”

The Story/Secret of Us
So I believe I may have just solved a major piece of the puzzle and finally figured out WHY the tortured poets have been sending us these anonymous messages to help us solve it. I think this entire rabbit hole is a gift to us true fans which is why we got all of those cryptic present 🎁 anon messages. Alllll of these songs are dedicated to us (except for So High School and I will explain why I think this in more detail later). THIS is The Story or Secret of Us. The "secret" is this rabbit hole of connections and this secret language or code of symbols and metaphors we've all learned how to speak (sunshine/daylight/gold/yellow = Karlie/being out of the closet/queer love/happiness, 3 = Speak Now, orange = karma, etc). The "us" is the tortured poets and us true fans who share this secret language.
Another important part of understanding this puzzle is that some of these songs are time sensitive 🕰️ and like a prophecy (The Prophecy) waiting to be fulfilled. So after a certain point, some songs can no longer be applied bc that "scene" in the movie has already passed (If This Was A Movie). They want us to essentially play our part in the story they've written. Right now we are playing the part of Paul Revere or Cassandra warning swifties of what's coming (likely on Sept 28). And we're also acting as Taylor's wings/angels catching her when she falls off her pedestal (see this post). They want us to think of these moments when we listen to these songs bc they want them to be personally relatable bc that's part of our gift. I think this is what Taylor meant when she said
"Let me tell you my secret little dream for this evening. These are songs that I have written about my life or things I've felt at one point in time, whether I was a teenager, in my 20s, or a couple yrs ago. But after tonight when you hear these songs out and about in the world, my dream is that you're gonna think about tonight and the memories we made here together" (x)
and what present anon meant when they said
"Reach those lanterns a little bit higher. For you shall receive a metaphor so dire" (x).
"Then the actors (us true fans and the tortured poets) were hitting their marks and the slow dance was alight with the sparks and the tears fell in synchronicity with the score" // "It's a normal thing to fall in love with movie stars when the lights are low and red at all their favorite bars. And the story you want is the story you get. Are you special or was this all scripted in his head?...Don't worry, I know I'll see you again. Uh-huh, you'll make me cry when it comes to an end. You were all that we hoped (The Prophecy), but I can't recommend getting close, I should've known, but I'll see you again" (x). The tortured poets have invited us to "dance" with them by being a part of this movie. If we accept this invitation, then we essentially become the muse of these songs.
I think Gracie playing In Between as a surprise song on 9/19 was an easter egg for Lizzy’s song Pushing It Down and Praying that was released 9/20. I think the mv for this song is the visual representation of the 🫚 message about the audience member (us true fans) becoming a part of the magic show and also the teenage love triangle in folklore. In this story, we are playing the character Wendy/Betty while the tortured poets play the character Peter/James. Swifties or the fans who don’t see this metaphorical story are Augusta/Augustine, the girl that James cheats on Betty with in august. So even though the teenage love triangle is technically fictional, there are seeds of truth in it. This is what Taylor was trying to explain during the eras tour betty speeches when she said she created these fictional characters and she was acting as the narrator of their story (x). Role Model, who stars in the Pushing It Down and Praying mv, is also the opening act for Gracie's TSOU tour which is another connection.
And to add even more evidence to this theory, the teenage love triangle also makes an appearance in Gracie’s discography. Gracie has a song called Augusta on TIWIFL which just so happens to be the name of one of the characters in the love triangle. It is also the name of a town in Maine which is where Gracie’s family is from. There are 3 songs in total on TIWIFL that are named after towns in Maine—Camden, Augusta, and Rockland. If you put the first letters of these songs together, they spell out “CAR.” “Standing in your CARdigan, kissing in my CAR again,” “And when I felt like I was an old CARdigan under someone’s bed, you put me on and said I was your favorite," 2:46 in betty ("She said 'James, get in, let's drive'") corresponding with 2:46 in august ("Remember when I pulled up and said get in the CAR").
august, betty, cardigan (the 3 sides or perspectives of the love triangle) are “ABC” bc the alphabet or capital letters are one of the major keys to solving this puzzle. As I mentioned in this post, I think Audrey has been helping to plant easter eggs. She posted Capital Letters by Hailee Steinfeld on her insta 3 times which is quite interesting and she also included this song in her Summa playlist.
What makes this even more suspicious is that she specifically chose timestamps in the songs (1:11 and 1:23) that have these lyrics ⬇️ and she posted the 1:11 timestamp TWICE which indicates that she really wanted to emphasize it. "God I'm jumping in the deep end, it's more fun to swim in. Heard the risk is drowning but I'm gonna take it."
Another thing that I think ties in with all of this is the Stephen Colbert interview. In this post below, I explain why I think the pizza on the mood board represents PR/bearding/showmanship/magic. I also explain how the letters that spell out Stephen's name are a huge clue and are related to the Peter Pan metaphor that is a through line in both Gracie's and Taylor's music. This is another example of "capital letters" or the alphabet being the key to solving the puzzle.
Going back to what I said in the first paragraph, this entire rabbit hole of cross-referenceable songs is dedicated to us except for the "pizza" So High School which is the one song she dedicated to 🏈 This is why Taylor's mood board had one slice of pizza while every other picture was of Stephen.

Peter McKinnon did a video with a photographer named Garrett King. And he just went on a very long rant about lazy photographers who use Photoshop and "fixing it in post."
He continues... "You can't do that in film. You can't just make a bad decision and say "Oh, I'll fix it in post." (Not true. There was plenty of editing in dark rooms in the past. And now you can scan a film photo and literally manipulate it like a digital photo.) Fix it in post drives me nuts. That statement is so played out. It drives me nuts that people say that. Cuz dude, I don't work that way."
He also says that choosing film is the "hard path" and keeps talking about how lazy photographers who photoshop are.
I love film photography. I have an old Minolta that my mom gave me that I hope to restore and use someday.
But film photographers drive *me* nuts sometimes.
IT'S NOT A COMPETITION!
BOTH THINGS ARE COOL!
This idea that their way of making art is more valid or authentic than my way of making art is just a continuation of an old school mentality that really needs to die. There are still some photographers who will bully people because they use autofocus or aperture priority mode.
I actually think learning to be really good at Photoshop is much more challenging than learning to be good at photography. Sure, there are fields like photographic microscopy and product photography that require years to master, but I've been learning Photoshop for 20 years and I feel like I have barely scratched the surface of what is possible.
I have seen people with near 0 experience take an amazing picture.
I have seen people who barely know how their camera works take consistently good photos. It's the "using only power chords" version of photography.
But I have never seen someone with 0 experience photoshop something artistically impressive.
When people say "that looks Photoshopped" as if that is an insult, it really breaks my heart. Photoshop was a huge reason for my success. My ability to lay in bed and make funny things was essential to building my blog.
My post on Karl Taylor's Clinque photoshoot had so many comments saying his work "looked photoshopped" and it was a little frustrating.
Firstly because he actually sculpts with light and isn't actually very good at Photoshop. When he takes a picture, it pretty much looks like that from the start. The rest is just minor compositing work and blemish removal.
And secondly, because that kind of product photography predates Photoshop. Karl was doing this when Photoshop was just a baby.
In fact, still life photography was inspired by Dutch paintings of fruit and shit.
They were all, "I cannot stand sitting with another yappy model for days on end. I'm sick of people. I'm just going to paint *stuff* but with really amazing lighting."
But it is also frustrating because there is this mentality that digital tools are lesser. As if digital artists just press a few buttons and cheat-code their way into good images.
It's the same mentality people have about CGI. CG artists are the modern day sculpturists. They do the same thing as Michaelangelo or Rodin, just with different tools and in a different medium. Oh, but they also animate their sculptures in thousands of frames in multiple dynamic lighting environments all while maintaining photorealism.
To me, Thanos is just as artistically impressive as the statue of David or The Thinker.
Blair Bunting is a very talented photographer who mixes incredible photographic technique and lighting with his amazing photo manipulation skills.
And while these photos may not be as "authentic" as that film photographer's picture of a dude sitting on a truck...
I can assure you no laziness was involved in Blair's process.
Also, I really didn't want to bring up disability. But it is really difficult for me to do the physical process of photography. Sometimes I do not have the energy to get the perfect "in camera" exposure. Sometimes I won't even check my settings and I will snap a picture knowing that I can make it cool with editing. I just look at the histogram, make sure the data I need is there, and do the rest on my computer.
During my adventure to photograph a bridge in Alton, I was only able to take 6 photos. Usually I will take hundreds in a session. My fatigue got the better of me and I nearly had to go to the hospital after walking up a hill. (I was having a bad day. I'm better now.) I didn't get the photos I wanted to get. And on the way down that hill, as I was out of breath, I pulled out my phone and tried to snap a pic of something cool I saw in front of me. The phone had been set 2 stops underexposed from a previous shot and so the picture was pretty much all in shadow. And because I was walking super slow, I had just missed the sun over the horizon.
But it's a RAW file. And I knew I could probably do something with it. I could "fix it in post." Not because I was being lazy. Mostly because I was trying not to hyperventilate. Apparently, my body can't handle slight inclines any longer.
And this is what I came up with.
I'm not saying this is an amazing photo. And it would have been really cool if I hadn't missed the sun. But this is what my eyes saw as I came down the hill and I was able to recreate that with digital tools.
I think that is pretty cool.

Loml - A breakdown (while I try not to break down because this song is so fucking sad)
Since Swifties continue to be blind to the truth, here's an entire lyrical breakdown for why Loml is about Matty Healy (whether I like it or not - And I do not)
Who's gonna stop us from waltzing Back into rekindled flames? If we know the steps anyway We embroidered the memories Of the time I was away Stitching, "We were just kids, babe"
-> Taylor and Matty had a bit of a will they, won't they situation since they first met in 2014 (when Taylor was 24 - "We were just kids, babe").
I said, "I don't mind, it takes time" I thought I was better safe than starry-eyed
-> "I thought I was better safe than starry-eyed" Throughout the entire album, we get the idea that Joe was her safe option, while Matty was the wild one. Fresh out the Slammer and Guilty as Sin in particular refer to how Joe started to bore her and feel like a prison, while Matty brought fresh wind and passion into her life.
In your suit and tie, in the nick of time You low-down boy, you stand up guy Holy Ghost, you told me I'm The love of your life
I'm sorry, but "you low-down boy" being a reference to London Boy is a reach, when she has explicit songs about London on the album, she's clearly not trying to code anything. Low-down simply means "mean and unfair", it goes along with her calling him a conman later on. She's saying he tricked her with false promises. Matty knew all the things she wanted from Joe but wouldn't get (mainly promises of marriage, kids, etc) and used that knowledge.
"Low-down boy" vs "stand-up guy" is a play on words - he was a low-down boy but he presented himself to her as a stand up guy.
In fact, refers to Matty coming back and telling her he'd changed a couple times, most significantly in this very song, and then again and again referenced to him "needing the drugs more" - So he hadn't changed or put her first at all.
You said I'm the love of your life About a million times
-> This goes hand in hand with what I said above - he made her false promises and then dropped her.
Who's gonna tell me the truth When you blew in with the winds of fate And told me I reformed you
-> Exactly this - Matty told her he'd grow up for her (like she had wanted in "Peter") but it didn't turn out to be true at all. He wasn't "reformed", he still abandoned her at the first sight of trouble, after insisting again and again that she "needed a brave man" (and then proceeded to play him)". She refers to his broken promises all over the album, you guys. When your impressionist paintings of Heaven Turned out to be fakes Well, you took me to hell, too And all at once, the ink bleeds A con man sells a fool a get-love-quick scheme But I felt a hole like this Never before, and ever since
-> "A get love quick scheme".
I don't know how many of you have come out of a seven year long relationship lately, but I can only imagine how scary it was for the woman who literally wrote The Prophecy. Like she said in So Long, London, it must've felt like she wasted her youth on someone who she was never going to end up with. Matty sweeping in at the exact time, promising her security and a love to fall back to, someone who wanted her forever, must've felt like a cheat to her, like using motherlode in Sims, y'know? A get love quick scheme. But he was a conman, he didn't mean it, he ghosted her (as we know from Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.)
Note that she also explicitly says "All at once" - It was a sudden ending, not the long-drawn out goodbye she had with Joe.
If you know it in one glimpse It's legendary What we thought was for all time Was momentary
-> A seven year long relationship isn't "momentary" in any sense of the word or metaphor, by the way
Still alive, killing time at the cemetery Never quite buried
-> This clearly refers to the fact that they were never quite over each other. Peter references this - So does Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus. She waited for him for years and years, changed herself, waited for him to change, waited for the right timing, etc. Never quite buried.
You cinephile in black and white All those plot twists and dynamite Mr. Steal Your Girl, then make her cry You said I'm the love of your life
-> More than one person can be a cinephile. As far as I know, Black & White aesthetic is a big 1975 thing. She references his suit in The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived. I believe the reason she brings it up again and again, is because he uses it for his show - it's a costume. He was playing dress up for her, pretending to be reformed. It's the conman thread coming back.
"Plot twists and dynamites" refer back to him being the "wild" choice over Joe being the safe one.
I've also seen Joe truthers say the "Mr. Steal your girl" line is about Tom, but if you listen to Guilty as Sin, you'll realize he's not the only one who stole the girl. (It's not an active act of the man "stealing" her anyway, as Taylor very much has her own agency. It's an Ivy situation. His ivy grew all over her stone house with Joe - and yes, I'm sorry, I fear Ivy is about Matty Healy too. It's bascially Guilty as Sin in less horny.)
You shit talked me under the table Talking rings and talking cradles I wish I could un-recall How we almost had it all
-> Again, I see people repeatedly point these out to be clearly about Joe, when - no. If anything, we have sufficient proof that Joe avoided these topics like the pest ("I wouldn't marry me either" </3). Matty was the one who put her "ring on the finger people put wedding rings on" (and that's the closest she's come-), he's the one who made all the promises Joe wouldn't make and then broke them all within a month's time. Which leads us to the rest of this devastating bridge!
Dancing phantoms on the terrace Are they second-hand embarrassed That I can't get out of bed? Cause something counterfeit's dead It was legendary It was momentary It was unnecessary Should've let it stay buried
-> It's interesting because she brings up watching the phantoms of her and Matty a couple times, actually. In Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus, she talks about watching his "Hologram", but she also says "can we watch our phantoms like watching wild horses".
So yeah, obviously, this is about all his false promises finally coming to fruition. She's left with nothing but Phantoms and fake portraits of heaven. He left her. It was a momentary thing that felt too legendary to just forget it. She wishes she had left it stayed buried and never found out (You could even say... regretting him was like wishing she never found out that love could be that strong...)
Oh, what a valiant roar What a bland goodbye The coward claimed he was a lion I'm combing through the braids of lies "I'll never leave" ... "Never mind"
-> "What a valiant roar / The coward claimed he was a lion" So people aren't going to like this, but this directly references The Black Dog.
"You said I needed a brave man, then proceeded to play him, until I believed it too // Tail between your legs, you're leaving."
(yes, this song is also about Matty, yes, I'm probably going to break that one down too, because Swifties are even more infuriatingly determined not to see it when it's even MORE obivous).
It could not be made more clear from these lyrics - The person in both songs LEFT HER. If you listen to So long, London, How did it end and You're losing me, you'll find that SHE left Joe. Moreso, their relationship ending was a brutally slow, painful death, while this is a sudden abandoning (Or "desertion" as she so beautifully put it) that she's describing in virtually every song about Matty. Down Bad, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, TTPD, Fortnight, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart
Our field of dreams, engulfed in fire Your arson's match your somber eyes And I'll still see it until I die You're the loss of my life
-> He's the arsonist. She's saying it very clearly. He burned all their mutual dreams down ("The magic/tragic fabric of our dreaming").
And for all the people who don't understand why she'd attribute the "loss of her life" to Matty instead of Joe: Not only did she wait for this man her whole life, and in the back of her mind always thought she'd one day fall back with him, he also played a large part in her feeling trapped by her relationship with Joe and feeling safe enough to leave it. She jumped right from that relationship to Matty, then lost both in the span of a month. That's a gigantic loss for her.
She lost the Peter to her Wendy (We know, by now, that Cardigan wasn't all that fictional, right?) and the man she decided to settle for instead ("Better safe than starry-eyed"). She lost all the promises he made her of everything she ever wanted. She lost all the prospects for her future that she thought she had with Joe, then thought she had with Matty, in the blink of an eye. He gave her hope than took it away.
With that context, relisten to The Prophecy. It's so fucking heartbreaking. (Thank fuck for Travis man). I genuinely, truly, think that Taylor did a very intentional, meaningful thing, where the only songs *directly* about and at Joe are So Long, London and How Did It End (aka both track 5 songs).

[on writing] the corruption of alicia florrick (or: 'show, don't tell' pushed to the brink)
i've touched on this really briefly already but i've recently engaged in a partial re-watch part of TGW (s1 to s5e2 - if you've also seen the show, you know why i stopped there) and i've been having a lot of thoughts about it, lately. this will probably be of interest to no one (apart from @tessiete, maybe, hello 👋 tess) but i still reckon it felt like something i wanted to write about, so here, this is my tumblr, and i can ramble on about whatever i want.
rewatching this show has led me to a lot of reflections about the portrayal of anti-heros in media. particularly: how to introduce one, and how to write one. and that's what i wanted to talk about here.
BACKGROUND:
for anyone who hasn't seen it, the good wife is a political and legal drama that ran on CBS between 2009 and 2015. it follows alicia florrick, wife of peter florrick, former US state's attorney for Chicago's Cook County. at the start of the show, she is presented as a housewife and a mother of two who, due to her husband's unconscionable behaviour (cheating on her with a sex worker and being accused of corruption in his office), is thrown into a sex scandal and turmoil that basically upends her life. she loses her house, her husband goes to prison, she has to go back to work as a lawyer - a profession she gave up to care for her family ten years ago - in an incredibly cutthroat and competitive environment, worsened by the 08 financial crisis.
now, as you may already know, a few years before the show aired, the early/mid-00s saw a resurgence of the anti-hero trope in american television. characters like gregory house or walter white became incredibly popular, as well as other main protagonists whose behaviour was portrayed to viewers as objectively immoral and objectionable, but for whom they were still encouraged to cheer (a more recent example of this would also be tommy shelby in peaky blinders). generally (though not always), these characters existed in a world of crime and/or drug trafficking, killed hundreds of people on a good day, but - deep down - kind of tried. had a good heart. or, at least, a moral code you could understand and relate to, or valid reasons for doing the things they do - even though the overall behaviour itself was criminal. even in the case of gregory house (who is not a criminal but still very much an anti-hero), he is someone whose impact on the world is at least partly positive because, well, he is a macho arsehole who treats people like absolute scum but, you know, he saves lives.
for a lot of viewers (and people who enjoy this trope - myself definitely included) the main appeal of these stories is this obvious tension between good and evil. no one is pretending these characters are good people - often, not even themselves. the interesting part is actually in whether you can (and should) root for a good person. and: this question as to whether good and/or evil exists, and this grey space in between. god knows i love reading (and writing) about that grey space. in the case of house or tommy shelby, there is something deeply fascinating about the knowledge that this person whose struggles you're coming to understand, and who you do empathise with, is objectively very problematic and questionable. these shows work because the viewer is constantly driven to question their own takes on the world, their own morals, the main protagonist's behaviour, and to try and understand their point of view. as a person, i'm generally pretty fond of this trope, because when done well, i find it very engaging.
MY POINT:
now, when it comes to the good wife, on the surface, alicia florrick is the complete opposite of the above. from the very beginning of the show, she is purported to be a Good Person™. she is dedicated to her marriage and to her children. she is intelligent and kind. she is a good lawyer and someone who exhibits a lot of empathy for her clients (in fact, the firm often assign her to "hand-hold" them). she is a bit of a relief. someone you can always root for, without having to check yourself and be like "omg, didn't she just kill three people in cold blood?"
and, of course, that is not to say she has no flaws. alicia is a fully-fledged person, and a very good character at that. she is a Good Person™ but also someone who is chronically incapable of making decisions. she can sometimes be cold and quite calculating. but, generally speaking, she is a Good Person™. she is trying to get her life back on track, to prove herself in her work, to raise her two teenage children as a single mother, and you end up rooting for her very easily. because her life is hard and even if you wouldn't necessarily react the way she does, or carry yourself the way she does (i - personally - probably wouldn't have tolerated peter's behaviour, etc.) you understand where she's coming from. the show tells you she is a good person, who is struggling and she is trying. it is mostly told from her perspective and really helps you see that she is always doing her best, and always having the best intentions (even though they don't always materialise). she's not some mass murderer, or sociopathic doctor who hates her patients, where you're constantly thinking: "omg, why am i rooting for this arsehole?" she is someone who tries so hard to be kind, and who tries so hard to always treat everyone with respect. because - again - she is flawed, but a Good Person™.
except, well, if you've seen the show, you know: she isn't.
and, if you have watched TGW, i'd be interested to know: think back. when exactly did you realise that? i don't mean: when did you start having doubts? i mean: when did you sit there and think "omg this woman is unbearable". for me, on first watch, it was probably somewhere between s5 and s6. on re-watch? probably as early as s2/3. i think everyone who was in the TGW fandom (and, to a larger extent, everyone who watched the show) had this thought once: when did this start? and where did Dark!Alicia (a characterisation i am stealing from @tessiete) come from?
and, honestly? looking back, i'm sorry to tell you this but: she was always there, you just didn't see it.
i only really realised this on rewatch but alicia is pretty much unbearable from the very start of the show. because, i mean, sure, she's a bit traumatised, but she's also: arrogant, self-centred, and incredibly hypocritical. she is (unlike peter, actually) a terrible parent. she is unforgiving of kalinda for Literally No Reason (other than archie and juliana not getting on, but that's a different conversation). she treats will appallingly, exploiting and toying with the fact that he's been in love with her for twenty years (which she very clearly knows), and after the event that must not be mentioned i am not over it romanticises their relationship like she ever gave a fuck about him. objectively speaking, and this throughout the show, alicia florrick isn't a Good Person™. she is a Fucking Bitch™.
and, as a writer myself, what i find very interesting about this show is that until the very end, you're never actually told alicia is a terrible person. you're shown it, and in hindsight, given Many Many opportunities to make that determination yourself, and yet, didn't it take us all So Long to stop excusing her behaviour? to stop being like "oh, but peter cheated on her," and "oh, but she loves them both." as an example, in s5, the show even almost succeeds in making you think will's reaction to her leaving the firm is an overreaction when omg if you look at the facts, it Really Isn't. think about it this way: if you were one of will's mates and he was telling you this story, you would be Out For Blood, wouldn't you?
rewatching this show has really made me realise that the "education of alicia florrick" (which the writers pitched was the overall arc of the show - or, also as you might see it, the "corruption of alicia florrick") is actually an example of how 'show, don't tell' can be pushed to the brink. because, this isn't even 'show, don't tell', it's 'show one thing, and tell another' and let the viewer come to their own conclusions. and, whilst i think that most people started out going with what the show was telling the viewers, there is a point where they stopped empathising with alicia and constantly excusing her behaviour, even though the show kept telling us she really was a Good Person™ and was #trying. there is a point where #trying becomes #pretending, and #pretending becomes fake and unforgivable.
and, this revelation arrived earlier for some than others but generally speaking, i think took a really long time to dawn on most of us. to realise that actually, alicia florrick is an anti-hero with very few redeeming qualities who is constantly and inexcusably toying with people's feelings and then excusing her repeated fuck-ups by the fact that she's #wounded and #trying, while still being presented like a hero. she is a Fucking Bitch™ because on top of this, unlike people like house or tommy shelby who are, in no way, shape or form, pretending to be good people[1], alicia and the show keep insisting that she is good, (really, trust her), and there comes a point where as a viewer, you have to look at it critically and say: nah, you're full of shit. and, i think that is what is most disconcerting about the show.
and, don't get me wrong, in hindsight, i believe this was one thousand per cent intentional. i don't believe this is an emily in paris type case where the writers wrote a character as a hero when she was in fact an awful person, and it took thousands of outraged comments for them to realise it. i think with TGW, it was definitely done by design. you see examples of alicia's terrible behaviour very early on in the way she parents her children (zach "watching" porn, for instance) but she always finds excuses for herself, and you initially lean into that as a viewer. like: oh, well, she's just a bit conservative. or: oh, well, it's hard being a single parent. the fact that this escalated into her appalling behaviour of going no contact with her own son because, oh my god, he got his girlfriend pregnant and dared hide it from his mother, shouldn't have come as a surprise. it's there from the get-go. and, it's not that the writers didn't know this, it's that they gradually made it more and more heavy-handed until it became unavoidable.
and, i think as writer, what's also interesting is: when alicia's true nature was revealed, it actually alienated a shit tonne of people. they truly lost a whole chunk of their audience because of it. i even stopped watching the show, and that's someone who wrote thousands of words of fanfiction for it. i remember telling a friend "ugh, she's just become too unbearable." and, i wasn't the only one. i know so many other people in fandom who dropped off around s6/7. whereas, there is a case to be made for the fact, as someone who actually loves rooting for Bad People™ and loves the anti-hero trope, i probably would have been able to stand her, had the show itself portrayed her as a problematic person to begin with.
but the fact that we had genuinely rooted for, and excused the behaviour of, someone who was objectively unconscionable for so long was so disconcerting and disgusting and disappointing that we... stopped caring? and so, whilst in hindsight, i do think the general idea of this was brilliant, objectively, the execution... wasn't much of a success, was it? it cost them a lot of their dedicated viewership. or: was it such a success that it rightfully alienated people? was this the objective all along?
because: is the main goal of a piece of art to cater to its audience or is it to make a point?
---
[1] small caveat with tommy who does sometimes seem to think he's a good person, but it never lasts very long.

I wouldn't be able to find the post about it now, but the Andrew and Eliza comparisons have some merit. But the contrasts have more.
Eliza and Andrew (and Frankie, but we're not there yet) have similar code. Eliza wasn't programmed not to lie, cheat, or steal. Andrew was programmed specifically to be able to do that.
Andrew was built into a home (heh, android puns) where his parental figure didn't really care about him. Dr. Peters looks at him like a machine, and he's only using him for revenge. Hell, he gave Andrew a different last name to avoid being found out.
Based on the way Eliza...is, we can kind of assume Sigourney is a lot more caring with Frankie than she was with Eliza. Frankie is almost like her daughter. Eliza was just a machine to her. (Sigourney gets better at it, but she likely wasn't very sentimental with Eliza.)
So, if they were built and raised so similarly, how did Andrew end up a protagonist, while Eliza doesn't step away from evil, even when given the choice?
Simple: Frankie.
Even before she discovers he's an android, Frankie is kind to him. After, she sympathizes with his situation, and, if I'm remembering right, she even lies for his sake...which messes up her functionality. Frankie puts effort into defending him, and Andrew recognizes this.
So, when Andrew goes against orders to protect her, it's not out of left field. Andrew knew Frankie was an android all along, and he had orders to get rid of her. But Frankie just cares so damn much about him, even after she knows Dr. Peters is behind all of this.
Eliza didn't have a community to turn to. Frankie is that community for Andrew. Even before Simone enters the picture.
Andrew, between seasons one and two, gains two sisters who have his back, but that's not all. His first positive interaction with a human was...Dayton. Dayton's kindness may have been forced at first, but it was there. She, Frankie, and even Cole, at times, were the reason he (and later Simone) only wanted to blend in with people, not hurt them like Eliza aimed to do.
Andrew defected to being good because Frankie loved him. Not even romantically, necessarily. Frankie saw humans in such a positive light that Andrew eventually saw it that way, too. By the time NAH was formed, Andrew looked surprised. He had developed a respect for humankind, but despite being borderline attacked for being who he was, he still believed some humans were good.
Eliza never had that opportunity. She was treated like an object, not a person. She was a machine, and no one looked at her and thought, "Maybe she has feelings, too." Eliza wasn't given a chance to respect or trust anyone before it was broken.
In the end, Andrew and Frankie are foils, but they're also, by android standards, half-siblings. Frankie loved Andrew so much that he believed in humanity. Eliza didn't have someone like Frankie.

Book Blurb: A shimmering, joyful new novel about a pair of opposites with the wrong thing in common, from #1 New York Times bestselling author Emily Henry. Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story: Stranded in beautiful Waning Bay, Michigan, without friends or family but with a dream job as a children’s librarian (that barely pays the bills), and proposing to be roommates with the only person who could possibly understand her predicament: Petra’s ex, Miles Nowak. Scruffy and chaotic—with a penchant for taking solace in the sounds of heart break love ballads —Miles is exactly the opposite of practical, buttoned up Daphne, whose coworkers know so little about her they have a running bet that she’s either FBI or in witness protection. The roommates mainly avoid one another, until one day, while drowning their sorrows, they form a tenuous friendship and a plan. If said plan also involves posting deliberately misleading photos of their summer adventures together, well, who could blame them? But it’s all just for show, of course, because there’s no way Daphne would actually start her new chapter by falling in love with her ex-fiancé’s new fiancée’s ex…right?
Review:
Whats a girl to do when her fiancee cheats on her with his childhood best friend then to fake date said childhood best friend's now ex boyfriend. Daphne was engaged to Peter, their romance was a cute story... up until the moment he tells her he cheated on her with his childhood best friend, Petra, during his bachelor party and now is in love with her and wants to end the engagement. Not to mention the fact that Petra was also in a relationship with her boyfriend Miles and cheated on him to run off with Peter. Daphne is in a predicament, Peter essentially owns their living space and is giving her until the weekend to move out and that's when Miles, Petra's ex, offers Daphne Petra's old room and to be her new roommate. Daphne can't say no as Miles is the only person who really knows what she's going through, and what was only suppose to be quick roommates turns into something more as they begin to become friends,,, and funny story, when Peter calls Daphne she just lies and says she's dating Miles, who is all too happy to play along. Yet what started off as fake is becoming very real as Daphne and Miles begin to form a strong friendship that is becoming something more as they spend the summer adventuring together.... but they both have their own difficulties and family issues... and if they want this to be real they'll have to face their differences and see if they really can make this funny story work. This was a super cute rom com and it's my first Emily Henry book! Miles was very Nick Miller (from New Girl) coded and I adored him and Daphne together. Daphne is a librarian and Miles works at a winery, Daphne is used to having people disappoint her and Miles is use to running away from his problems... both of them have so much heart but are going through so much. I loved the fun friendship growing between them and how they really felt like a good couple. They had good banter and chemistry and I was so happy to read this book. This is definitely a fun read and I definitely see it being a good one to recommend anyone who wants a nice romcom with a bit of heart.
*Thanks Netgalley and Berkley Publishing Group | Berkley for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

Even though Seattle is known for it's vast amount of rain and that's why people avoided it a lot of time but Hunter loved it. He loved the smell of the rain hitting the concrete and the way that everything shined as the sun came out while cloud disappeared. Hunter was never the type to be on the football field, but something that he was good at was the sport of Volleyball. It was apparent from a young age that he was incredibly talented on the court. It probably helped that his mom was a big Volleyball player as well.
In the classroom though, Hunter was superior. He was a brainiac that didn't have to worry about balancing a social life with making sure he remained the top of his class. Hunter has a photographic memory and so once he has looked at something once then he didn't have to worry about forgetting it. This was something that teacher tried to pin on him as cheating. They thought that there was some way that he was sneaking notes in because he never had any incorrect answers on his tests.
Hunter then proved a lot of teachers wrong and showed them he had a photographic memory by looking at books that he had never seen before in his life. When the teachers would ask him different questions, he was able to recite the precise wording from the sections they were asking about. They were astonished at how smart Hunter's mind was.
When it came to what Hunter wanted to do with his life, he was good with coding and working on websites that when his work was seen by colleges, he was offered a scholarship and Hunter was more than excited to show the world what he could do. Obviously, Hunter excelled in college and he ended up at the top of his class there as well. When graduation came, he had multiple offers from jobs all around the world. He actually ended up taking a job with a company in London, but they allowed him to remain in Seattle where his heart was.
Eventually, his siblings had all relocated to New York and he felt alone. Hunter's parents had passed away and they felt like it was time to leave the nest and they found New York to work better for them. He decided that it was time for himself to be with his siblings because that was what family was all about.

📚📚📚!! I’d love to hear your fic ideas (if you’re still doing it obv)
ummm okay so I have this disease where I was a theatre kid in middle school and thus most of my music taste is still musicals and I sort it all by character playlists SO I end up think about a lot of musical aus with dndads characters because I’m sick in the head. None of these are really that thought out enough, more free association between characters so yeah. I present to you: a multitude of dndads teens musical aus
in the spirit of nerdy prudes cast album coming out in like a week, link and scary are so Steph and Peter coded it’s nuts. If you don’t know what nerdy prudes must die is, Peter Spankoffski is a nerd who has been ostracized for years due to an unfortunate incident and unflattering nickname and Stephanie Lauter is the cool girl who gets him to help her cheat on a test and then asks him to study with her. When he gets beat up, she sticks up for him and yeah, they’re so gothcleats it’s crazy, there’s even one song later in the musical that’s SOOOOO. Normal and Taylor would take the place of Ruth and Richie who are Peter’s nerdy friends (Richie is literally just Taylor and Normal in one character, he is an anime kid who is also the mascot) idk who would be grace and max, or where hermie would fit in but yeah!
then, rise of the pink ladies au, I mean there’s four of them and one of them has a theatre kid love interest come on. Link is the starry eyed new kid who gets humiliated on the first day and decides to start running for school president, scary is the prickly girl who is being manipulated by a teacher (Willy), Taylor is the big dreamer who’s kind of a wacko, and Normal is the one who doesn’t feel like he belongs anywhere and has an emotionally detached theatre kid love interest who he messes everything up with, and it’s the 50s! I’m most likely to actually write this one or something in this universe
last one, a while ago I had a gay teen beach movie au idea where scary and normal get transported into the movie and meet hermie and Erica who they get big crushes on, but oakworthy has been taking nothing but Ls recently and I’m honestly not super passionate about scerica so this one may not ever happen (also I thought of it right before stand and delivery, which kinda killed the vibe)
I hope you enjoyed these silly ramblings, I’m going to bed
