ok lets split this up a bit. Utena and Haruka are a very specific and excellent character trope nicknamed the “bifauxnen.” this is a handsome princely woman inspired by the crossdressing otokoyaku of the takarazuka revue. They are usually tall, theatrical, and popular with the ladies, but they arent always lesbians. Examples include:

Lady Oscar from Versailles no Bara (the OG)

Yuu Kashima from Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun

Then you have your tomboys. Probably about like 60% of shounen anime and 40% of cgdct have at least one tomboy-ish type but im sure you’re looking for the real gender non-conforming girls. The ones with short hair, boyish clothes and sapphic tendencies.
