Argof**kingbrilliant
If you've seen Argo, you'll understand the title. Don't worry. I don't have a potty mouth :)
This film is sheer brilliance. Why? Because it makes a true story about something that happened over thirty years ago seem so present that you become completely intertwined with the characters and their emotions. Because Ben Affleck's performance is absolutely flawless. and Because the entire ensemble for this film was incredible.
Ben Affleck is a great actor, but he's an even better director. He knows how to take the audience from grief to relief, from joy to despair, from lost hope to being so very close to freedom. I feel like I felt the emotions that he wanted me to feel, saw the sides of Tony Mendez that he wanted me to see and at the very end felt the absolute euphoria he wanted me to feel!
Let me just say, yes, the Oscars are very prestigious awards. But the fact that Ben Affleck did not even receive a Best Director Nomination, or even a Best Actor Nomination, is utter balderdash! (so annoyed I used a rarely used posh word to describe my annoyance). His creative mind is incredible, and I cannot wait to see his next project.
100 out of 5 stars if I could!
Go and watch it NOW!
