While I was on Hulu, an ad came on. And Immediately, the ad started off by saying “Hamas is a terrorist group.” The ad then continued to show pictures of bombing aftermaths and said that we should support the movement to help Israel and Palestine be freed from them. The message of this ad is painted as though Palestinians and Israeli’s are (or should be) banding together for this “greater cause.” But the message did not feel as though they were truly advocating for Palestinians, so once I saw that the ad was paid for and sponsored by the Urban Empowerment Action PAC, I decided to do some Googling.

my findings:

The actual founder of UEA is unknown, but the group was launched by more than 40 Black businesses and civic leaders.

They get their fundings by Republicans and Democrats alike, but their main contributor is billionaire hedge fund investor, Daniel Loeb.

This group is currently spending $1 million to unseat Rep. Rashida Tlaib because they dislike her for voting against the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure package and her critiques of U.S. military funding to Israel.

UEA is backed by former South Carolina state Rep. Bakari Sellers who is very much an ally to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and Pro-Israel America who endorses Detroit’s city clerk Janice Winfrey who is also backed by UEA.

The UEA is said to have been created to narrow the wealth gap between Black and white Americans in urban communities and their current challenge against Tlaib is that they want Detroit to have a Black representative. Their spokesperson Henry Greenidge says its “aim is to get Black candidates in office who will champion common-sense solutions that uplift Black people.”

Now, why does a group that was supposedly created for the betterment of Black people sound so fckin conservative? Well, that’s because they are. The ad doesn’t tell us what they’re doing to support Palestine’s end of Israel’s occupation over them because they do not care for Palestinians. The UEA PAC consists of conservative democrats who endorse likeminded people and are all against anyone who has socialist viewpoints. This wasn’t an ad to convince Americans to care for Palestine and the people of Gaza, this was an ad to promote their pro-Israeli viewpoints as all of their backers are in support of them.

Untuk itulah, Menteri Koordinator Bidang Kemaritiman dan Investasi Luhut Pandjaitan mengungkapkan beberapa alasan pemerintah Indonesia banyak menjalin kerja sama dengan Republik Rakyat Tiongkok (RRT) atau China. Luhut bilang, investor China sangat tanggap dan cepat dalam merespons pemerintah Indonesia. “Jadi kita jangan membully diri sendiri kalau kita kerja sama dengan Tiongkok. Tiongkok yang paling cepat memberikan respons terhadap permintaan kita,” beber Luhut dalam Rapat Koordinasi Nasional dan Anugerah Layanan Investasi 2021 di Jakarta, Rabu 24 November 2021. Mantan Kepala Staf Kepresidenan (KSP) itu juga bilang, investor dari Negeri Panda tersebut juga memberikan keleluasaan kepada Indonesia untuk mengatur skema investasi di Tanah Air. Selain itu, negara dengan penduduk terbanyak di dunia itu juga mengizinkan adanya skema transfer teknologi selama investasi berjalan. “Tidak ada itu debt yang ditakutkan karena yang kita lakukan B to B (business to business). Mereka membiarkan pegawainya dari Indonesia semua. Memang dilakukan secara bertahap karena kita memang tidak punya SDM-nya,” imbuh Luhut, Rabu 24 November 2021. Berdasarkan data Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM), China menjadi investor ketiga terbesar Indonesia tahun ini di bawah Singapura dan Hongkong. Jumlah investasi China pada periode Januari-September 2021 mencapai 2,3 miliar dolar AS atau 10 persen dari total penanaman modal asing di Indonesia. Kendati demikian, Luhut mengingatkan bukan hanya China yang dibidik menjadi investor di Tanah Air. “Pemerintah juga terus membuka peluang kerja sama di berbagai sektor dengan banyak negara, terutama untuk mendukung hilirisasi,” ungkapnya. Luhut menambahkan, salah satunya adalah rencana kerja sama dengan Inggris untuk produk baterai, katode, hingga prekursor. “Jadi sekarang jangan berpikir kita hanya bekerja sama dengan China, itu tidak betul. Kita juga kerja dengan negara mana saja,” beber Mantan Menteri ESDM tersebut. Luhut menjelaskan, pemerintah juga kini giat mendorong kerja sama investasi dengan Uni Emirat Arab (UEA), termasuk di bidang hilirisasi. Kunjungan Uni Emirat Arab pada November 2021 ini misalnya, sebut Luhut, juga menghasilkan komitmen investasi 44,6 miliar dolar AS (Rp 637 triliun) di berbagai bidang. Salah satunya, papar Luhut adalah dengan Abu Dhabi yang akan membawa industri alumunium ke Integrated Green Industrial Park di Kalimantan Utara. Groundbreaking proyek kawasan industri itu bakal diimplementasikan Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) pada 16 Desember 2021 mendatang. Luhut mengungkapkan, upaya hilirisasi sumber daya alam telah membuahkan hasil. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari ekspor besi dan baja Indonesia yang mencapai 16,5 miliar dolar AS (Rp 236 triliun) hingga Oktober 2021 lalu. Mantan Menteri Perhubungan tersebut juga memperkirakan, ekspor besi dan baja bisa mencapai lebih dari 20 miliar dolar AS (Rp 286 triliun) atau mendekati 21 miliar dolar AS (Rp 300 trilun). Nilai ekspor tersebut sangat berpengaruh guna memperbaiki neraca transaksi berjalan Indonesia. Bank Indonesia mencatat, neraca transaksi berjalan pada kuartal ketiga 2029 surplus 4,5 miliar dolar AS atau 1,5 persen terhadap produk, terbesar sedikitnya dalam satu dekade terakhir. Surplus pada transaksi berjalan mendorong neraca pembayaran mencatatkan surplus mencapai 10,7 miliar dolar AS, setelah defisit pada kuartal kedua 0,4 miliar dolar AS. Membaiknya neraca transaksi berjalan bisa membantu Indonesia menghadapi risiko global, seperti normalisasi kebijakan moneter Amerika Serikat (AS) di 2022 dan 2023. [/terkini]

What’s the difference between a UAE Entry Permit and a UAE Residence Visa?

Foreigners who want to move to the UAE need to have a Residence Visa. However, prior to that, they must also obtain an Entry Permit. The difference between an entry permit and a residence visa for the UAE is: The UAE Entry Permit is the document you have to obtain if you need a visa to enter the country. It is valid for a certain number of days, depending on your purpose of travel. Your sponsor has to get an entry permit for you before you travel from by General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). The number of days you are allowed to stay in the UAE with an entry permit depends on the purpose of your travel: - If you are transiting, you will receive an entry permit (transit visa) for up to 48 or 96 hours. - If you’ll enter as a tourist, your entry permit is valid for up to 30 days (ie. tourist visa). - If you’re entering for employment purposes, your entry permit is valid for up to 60 days etc. As such, a tourist visa and an entry permit are more or less the same thing. The UAE Residence Visa is the document you have to obtain after you are already in the UAE with an Entry Permit and want to stay longer than the number of days the permit allows.
